Count off the good, the bad, and the crazy.
The Good: Dell replaces all parts on laptop for free and usually promptly.
The Bad: Dell takes two months to determine my E1505 laptop was junk and send out a replacement.
The Crazy: Dad's desktop went into Best Buy so they could install a new graphics driver (I know, DIY, but I was young.) Best Buy successfully installs the graphics driver, but erases half of the programs installed on it. When confronted with the issue, the tech reinstalls the programs but refuses to acknowledge anything went wrong. Dad and little brother catch sight of repair log on tech's desk describing the programs reinstalled by tech and some complaints about being forced to do the job.

Reading that makes me so glad I built my own monster pc.

No problems yet *touch wood*

The problem with some of these places is they expect you to be ignorant and they think they can do what they like. PC world are usually the worst. Really expensive and it takes them a few goes to fix anything. So glad I can do my own.......

Bestbuy hasn't had the best reputation within these hallowed walls...

Sorry to hear it hasn't all worked out for you.

Oh no, everything worked out in the end. In my dad's case, they reinstalled everything and in my case, the laptop got completely replaced. I was just curious about THOSE horror stories everyone seems to have. Marguerite's example is one of these.

Dell fixed my laptop when something was wrong with it, but I got it back with a big dent that caused other problems they wouldn't fix.

Sorry to hear it hasn't all worked out for you.

Took them the third time to fix it.
