The Premise: Legendary Monsters
I've been long pondering a game with a theme of terrifying gods or perhaps monsters, and in that vein I am considering running a game of what has quickly become my favorite NWoD game, Beast: The Primordial. So to check for interest - i would like around four to five players interested in making Beast characters whose Horrors are some of the legendary american (North or South) monsters - monsters like the Wendigo, Champ, the Chupacabra, the Jersey Devil, and so on. These Beasts would find themselves in a position that is not entirely familiar to them - each of them has been recruited or captured by a shadowy agency that wants to enlist them as a sort of supernatural 'suicide squad' charged with combatting other monsters while dealing with their own problems. Players are welcome to put their own spin on the legends or even create new ones whole cloth that. Get creative with them.

These would be experienced (60-100 XP) beasts with SERIOUS power and powerful legends. I want characters that are powerful and potent because Play by Post games can take a long time to get rolling and thus characters often can take a long time to get to the point where they are really potent, so this time i'm starting the characters off right where I want them to be. With such large XP counts, it is guaranteed that eventually you'll run out of reasonable things to spend the XP on. To that end, i do allow custom or homebrewed Atavisms and Nightmares, and i encourage players to come up with them or ask me for help and i'll help come up with them.

I am also willing to allow one Hunter PC to act as the Beasts' 'handler'.

Smut
The smut level of the game depends on the players - i am perfectly fine with any amount (And i think it would be pretty interesting, actually, given that these are legendary monsters) but again that is up to the players.

Changes
I will be making some slight alterations to the default assumptions and rules of Beast, outlined here:
1. Beasts and Heroes tend to produce children who are themselves beasts or heroes, and the offspring of a Beast will always have some supernatural attributes (though they may just be mortal psychics).

2. When Beasts use Atavisms the effects are a good deal more visible and dramatic even to mere mortals - they visibly manifest claws, massive tentacles, and other features representative of their atavisms while the atavisms are active.

3. Beasts live an extra 50 years per dot of Lair they possess. At Lair 10, the beast is immortal unless killed.

The System
The system in use is New World of Darkness 2.0 (Also known as the God Machine Chronicles and Chronicles of Darkness) with the Beast: The Primordial book as a character resource.

Interest
Interested parties, feel free to throw out questions, ideas, and character concepts here and if i get enough interest i'll get it rolling. I'm looking forward to seeing what you clever Elliquians come up with.

Damnit man.... you know I gotta get in on this. Especially since the college semester is over and I have a few weeks to work on characters. There's the temptation to make an Ugallu Nemeses.

I'll be happy to help you with the mechanics and character creation process. Deciding on your basic character idea is the first step - pick a monster, design your human side, come up with a bit of history keeping in mind what is widely believed may not be true. You can also work with other players to come up with connections - Beasts are very social, and they are often close allies with other supernaturals as well.

I'll put up my example character - the Jersey Devil (one of many, actually) after work.

I would love to play in this.  Have had the book since the KS and haven't gotten to play in a game so super excited!
I really need to finish my O/o Screen, but until that point, here is my f-list page that has most of the stuff for it: https://www.f-list.net/c/nekosluagh

That makes three potentials, plus myself. This game is a go.

Further information: I'll be doing this game in episodes, so that if someone needs to drop it won't be a problem. Generally an episode will focus on one monster/problem/location, and they'll be pretty fast-paced so the game won't drag (slow story is a Major game killer in pbp).

Juggtacular

My sample character. Note that I have not defined his Lair traits or Kinships yet - that's something all the characters will do together, and they'll gain kinships as the game progresses.

Michael Hayes - The Jersey Devil

Family: Eshmaki
Hunger: Hunger for Punishment

Aspirations
-Long-Term: Combat the Pure Tribes wherever he finds them.
-Short-Term 1: None
-Episode Aspiration: Varies by Episode

Life: Parental
Legend: Relentless

Occupation: U.S. Federal Marshal

Description: Five feet ten inches tall with light brown eyes that carry undertones of red even in his human form, Michael hayes is a handsome and almost babyfaced african-american man man in his early 30's. His Horror is an ancient red-scaled dragon called Ormr, a massive, fire-breathing monster who hungers for the pain and lesh of those who prey upon the weak and helpless.
Human and Horror

History: Those who live in and near the Pine Barrens of New Jersey know the legend of the Jersey Devil, a winged monster that stalks the barrens terrifying all who encounter it. The truth is that Michael Hayes is only the latest in a long line of individuals to claim the name and legend of the Jersey Devil, having inherited the title from his distant Pure werewolf kin when he was nineteen years old. Mike is a former soldier who enlisted in the United States Army shortly after his rebirth as a Beast and the bestowing of the Jersey Devil title due to a (violent) disagreement. He (and his horror) preferred to punish the truly guilty and wicked rather than terrorizing innocent people in a pointless conflict with the Forsaken, and he is now considered an enemy of the Pure tribes werewolves whom he waged a bloody one-man guerilla war on for nearly ten years before he was tracked down by VASCU (the Vanguard Anti Serial Crimes Unit) and offered a chance to combat even worse monsters in exchange for their help in relocating numerous wolf-blooded family members of the pure and their relatives. Due to his military background and disciplined nature, Hayes was an ideal recruit and has since been instrumental in assisting VASCU and the FBI in locating and recruiting other beasts and supernatural beings for their cause.

I'm thinking to play the Uktena, a fifty-foot long horned snake.  Not sure how a human aspect of something that big would work, but I guess you don't have to explain it if it's magic, right?

In most versions/stories the powers of the Uktena are related to water, rain, storms, lightning and/or thunder, disease, and rainbows.

Probably the best description of the Ukena is on Wikipedia:
Quote from: wikipediaAmong Cherokee people, a Horned Serpent is called an uktena. Anthropologist James Mooney, describes the creature:

Those who know say the Uktena is a great snake, as large around as a tree trunk, with horns on its head, and a bright blazing crest like a diamond on its forehead, and scales glowing like sparks of fire. It has rings or spots of color along its whole length, and can not be wounded except by shooting in the seventh spot from the head, because under this spot are its heart and its life. The blazing diamond is called Ulun'suti—"Transparent"—and he who can win it may become the greatest wonder worker of the tribe. But it is worth a man's life to attempt it, for whoever is seen by the Uktena is so dazed by the bright light that he runs toward the snake instead of trying to escape. As if this were not enough, the breath of the Uktena is so pestilential, that no living creature can survive should they inhale the tiniest bit of the foul air expelled by the Uktena. Even to see the Uktena asleep is death, not to the hunter himself, but to his family.

That's exactly the kind of thing I was going for. As for human form, Beasts look (and mostly are) perfectly human unless they're using their Atavisms or are within the Primordial Dream/some other world, so pick an actor or actress you like and go with it!

Some things to consider for those of you formulating characters:

-The agency recruiting Beasts into this special unit is the Vanguard Serial Crimes Unit (VASCU) an FBI unit that specializes in locating and eliminating or prosecuting unusual (read: supernatural) killers and other threats. They themselves seem to have supernatural abilities of some kind. They use those abilities along with mundane investigative techniques to locate and recruit supernatural beings to assist with their investigations and prefer to bring them into the fold willingly. They generally do so by offering to assist with problems the supernatural being has through legal means, and they are very good at it. Decide how they got your character to sign on, and keep in mind that they are able to provide advanced training in all the necessary skills to be an effective investigator and get recruits any legal credentials they need to perform their jobs with minimal legal hassle.

-They like recruiting Beasts especially because they have a rare combination of personal power necessary to handle other supers and an understanding of the human condition that many others lack along with abilities that allow them to more easily deal peacefully with potential threats. They are not secretly evil; they are agents trying to do a difficult and dangerous job.

This looks SERIOUSLY cool.

Would you allow something Lovecraftian?

Did you not see my name? Not only do I allow it, I encourage it.

Edit: and since I'm getting WAY more interest than I dared hope, PLEASE state interest if you are interested! The episodic nature of the game makes it very easy to handle large groups since not everyone needs to be in every episode.

And here's a great link with more information about VASCU, which any character with the right status, contacts, or skills could easily learn: http://whitewolf.wikia.com/wiki/Vanguard_Serial_Crimes_Unit

LordRod

Yes. I am interested. I want to do the King in Yellow but need to buy and read the game to know if that is feasible.

Other monsters in mythos will be done if it doesn't feel like I can do that one the way I like.

I'm of course,  just cementing my interest here :)

I was going to go with an Eshmaki with a Hunger for punishment. Based on the Red or Blue Paper enitity from Japanese myth. With so many immigrants that came to the US over time, seems like there'd be an American one,  or something like it. Should have my sheet later today!

As it happens I have an antagonist in mind I'm going to post up as an example that should help you get the feel of an Eldritch horror kind of Beast. I'll get it up along with some other antagonists after work.

Would a/the Headless Horseman be eligible for a Horror? The concept itself predates the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, but that's the version of the creature that everyone remembers, and it's become a pervasive archetype in horror.

I'd be interested if there is still room, though I would need to dig out my book before I could say as what.

Plenty. As previously stated, the episodic nature makes a larger group doable. and this is my only game, so i can pay all the attention to it.

TheGlyphstone

Well consider me up to the challenge, then.

I'm wavering between the Eshmaki and the Anakim as a Family. Being chased by a Horseman fits the Fear of Hopelessness - the relentless juggernaut bearing down on you, pursuing you until you give out from exhaustion, but the Eshmaki are more into the Hunt; Anakim prefer to get the Chase over with fast so they can get to the smashing, but an Eshmaki is more likely to draw it out for extra enjoyment. Neither of them really have appropriate Atavisms, though I think the Eshmaki suite is a bit closer. Even with custom Atavisms as an option, which one do you think fits the archetype better?

Hunger's a bit easier. Prey is a shoe-in; Punishment would have been an option if I wanted to pursue an anti-hero angle, but I did that with my last Beast and feel like embracing the Monster this time around.

EDIT: Upon reflection, I think I'm going with an Anakim. The mentality fits a little better, since this character wouldn't be a silent stalker; he'd want the prey to know he was after them, rather than sneaking up on them.

First possible custom Atavism, some means of supernatural tracking. Possible themed as scent-based - the Giants I remember from mythology were all known for their keen sense of smell.
Another possibility, something that counters/removes obstacles and penalties to movement; you can't stop the Horseman, or slow it down, you can only keep running. Could even link them together...

Just spitballing here:
Inevitable Pursuit

Primary effect: Add Lair dots to all Survival or Investigation rolls to locate or track a specific target. Only one target can be 'marked' in this manner at a time.
Low Satiety: Lair dots instead become automatic successes on said rolls.
Satiety Expenditure: For the duration of the scene, ignore penalties to Speed and movement-related rolls. Can't be Immobilized or Knocked Down.

Oh, and my mortal identity is totally going to be a biker of some kind. That's practically mandatory.

Should I be aiming for the lower end, or higher end of the 60-100 XP range you mentioned?

(Oh, and for anyone else interested, I can also help with people unfamiliar with the rules. I have way too much time on my hands.)

Thanks for the offer to assist. Glyph. 60 experiences is where we'll start at, though i intend for characters to get stronger very quickly. As for Atavisms, I think the horseman should be doable easily with the following: Needs Must and Eye of Heaven for marking and perfect tracking along with sussing out the targets' weaknesses, Relentless Hunter for swift recovery and the ability to pursue a target tirelessly, and lastly Wings of the Raptor to go sailing over any landscape in pursuit of your prey.

Jaded

I am thinking something (loosely) based on the Wendigo (among other things, Wekufe, etc).  Probably a Namtaru who Hungers for Ruin.  Human aspect is probably an (occasionally violent) Environmentalist.  The angle I am thinking is a bit anti-pollution/oil/etc, the lesson less being 'endure the storm' than 'you are bringing the storm down on yourself with your greed and gluttony.'

An alternate thought was something like the Cherufe, but that isn't overly well known and didn't quite fit (not that the Wendigo is perfect, but I struggled to find any that didn't feel like they might end up similar to those already pitched).

Can Wings of the Raptor be used while he's mounted? If he can bring his bike/horse along when he flies, it would be perfect, but a Horseman without his Steed loses a lot of his mystique.

Aside from that, Needs Must works as a substitute tracking mechanism, yeah. Not so sure about Eye of Heaven; a lot of the information you get is more the sort of thing a Nemesis would be interested in.

Needs Must (Ugallu), Wings of the Raptor (Ugallu), Relentless Hunter (Eshmaki), Looming Presence (Anakim), and Relentless Hunter (Eshmaki), plus Unbreakable (Namtaru) if I can slip it in. That's a pretty hefty investment into Atavisms, but they all fit and I can certainly afford it.

What about a Thunderbird? Some of their legends have them as protectors of Earth against people who would do it harm, you could make a Gaia's Avenger type out of that. Get along great with Werewolves if you meet any.

Maybe.  Thanks for the suggestion :-) .  I glanced more at the underwater panther.  Though have become somewhat fixated on the Namtaru aspect.

First draft of a character sheet, I am not sure I have made a beast before, so may have made some errors.  I also doubt she is overly optimized.  I haven't written up a background, but she is probably a mixed blood member of some Native American tribe or other.  I took Striking Looks, I figure that she attractive at high satiety, and horrifying at low satiety.  I also took Small-Framed and Looming-Presence, so she would appear to be size 4, but seem to be size 9 (which goes with the giant aspect of the Wendigo).

I love what you guys have so far. I'm starting to see a theme of people who are very nature-oriented. Might be something worth running with.

TheGlyphstone

Probably just because most people are choosing Native American tribal legends as their horrors, which will tend to have a nature-like theme. I'm definitely the odd one out there.

Still not sure what to spend my last 10 XP on, any ideas? I could just go with another two dots of Lair, but improving my skills/Merits is also a good option.

VioletPanda

Only about half done, sorry! The numbers thing always seems really hard for me. :/

And don't worry, Glyph, I don't have a Native American theme either.

Life: Honest

Occupation: RA in one of the dorm buildings

Description: Though only other Beasts can see her non-human form, it is manifest in her thin frame and delicate 'painter's fingers'. She is also rather petite, at only five  foot two, with dark hair to her shoulders. There are no bald spots, though her hair is rather thin.

Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

History:   Alicia was always different. Even though she never understood the difference until college, when she came into her Horror, children in school did as they often did and she was the target of bullying. And her nights were worse than her days, being stalked at night by something couldn't see. She was afraid of the dark as a child, though it was after she left home that this really began to bother her.

She was not used to having roommates, she was not used to sounds in the middle of the night, or that too quiet hush as she walked home from night classes that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up even though she couldn't see anyone around. Was it any wonder the nightmares started up again?

After the Devouring, she realized what it was that had always set her apart and it was a major relief to finally know why she'd had the dreams. And even more important, she knew they had a purpose; there were so many people who got away with things, in the dark. Crimes they had thought no one else would ever find out about. Maybe they killed someone. Maybe it was one of those crimes that never healed even after years, like a home invasion. Her Horror doesn't care who is punished, for any transgression, so long as there is punishment. But Alicia likes to think -and tries to make it so- that what she does has a higher purpose.

There's apparently this agency that wants to study her or something- what they want she doesn't care about matter to her as long as they don't get in her way and defend the idiots who brought their punishment on themselves.

Probably just because most people are choosing Native American tribal legends as their horrors, which will tend to have a nature-like theme. I'm definitely the odd one out there.

There don't seem to be a ton of others for the Americas that I could find.   :-\  Could do something from scratch, but isn't as interesting to me.  A few ghosts and such I can think of, I guess modern horror stories (man with the hook for a hand or such), but most of that sort fall a little flat to me.

Still a bit of a work in progress, hopefully without too many errors.  I am still refamiliarizing myself with Beast, but hopefully I have mostly caught the themes and such behind it.

Though now I need to figure out lairs and chambers more.

WIP Character Sheet

Rebecca Nayeli was the only child of a half-Ojibwe mother and a half-Hispanic father.  She was raised across the northern USA, the family moving to follow the work.  They eventually found themselves in North Dakota, her parents working in the oil industry.  Rebecca was always the outsider.  The constant moving, and her ancestry, ensuring she would never have any true friends.

It was only as she approached her late teenage years that she began to find her community in the form of Ojibwe, and other Native American, protestors.  Through chance or fate, she reconnected with a great-Aunt, a woman of vast knowledge and iron will, and through her the rest of her tribe.

It was that reconnection that brought about her devouring.  She had long been hunted in her dreams, but she only sought it out, only faced it, after she had reconnected with her people and learned of their stories.

In the years that followed she became an environmentalist and protestor.  She spiked trees, sabotaged equipment and, in the event that drew the attention of the VASCU, severely damaged an entire refinery.  It had been to protect her tribe, she tried to convince them.  The companies poisoned their water, polluted their lands, and wiped out entire species.  The VASCU didn't buy it, but did promise their aid in protecting her people in exchange for her assistance.

Rebecca has met a few Werewolves, but not enough to truly understand them.  She has dealt mostly with Changelings, with a large freehold near where her family lives.  The dealings have been, rocky, but both side has found value in the other.

Rebecca stands at just over 4'10" in height, and is (usually) rather attractive.  When her satiety begins to drop, her appearance starts to become far more unpleasant.  Even when her satiety is high however, Rebecca tends to disturb people.  She looms (effective size 9), despite usually being the shortest person in the room, and few desire to meet her eyes more than once.

Rebecca's horror is the Wendigo, or some variation thereof.  A skeletal giant of the frozen north, born of greed, gluttony, and selfishness.  Of a willingness to commit evil to benefit the self at the expense of others.  In ages past, the horror was associated with cannibalism.  A willingness to commit the ultimate taboo to survive.  The Wendigo Horror that is Rebecca's incarnation is focused more on environmental destruction, on companies and people that destroy the Earth and poison their own kind in exchange for material wealth.  Its methods are often extreme, smashing down what the people have built in ways that overtly pollute and destroy the lands nearby.  If people will ignore the poisons that are being released in secret, they will be shown them in public.

I find this game to be very interesting, but I am unfortunately unwilling to buy the NWOD book because it would more than likely be used solely for this game, and therefore wouldn't be a wise investment. I'm sure I can find information about it elsewhere because this is the world wide web, but is there any way that those who don't have the book can still participate in this game?

lol After just writing this, I found a free pdf of the rule book.

Khala, Eye of the Hungering God

Family: Makara
Hunger: Hunger for Ruin

Occupation: Ecoterrorist

Description:

No-one knows for sure where the small, mousy woman who goes by the name Khala originally came from, but what is known is that she is a relentless enemy of all that lives. Khala is a Beast who claims to serve a being she refers to only as the Hungering God, and she is a true zealot who does everything in her power to cause destruction and spread fear in the name of her master. In her human guise, Khala is an attractive young woman who dresses well and usually poses as a professional or high society lady of some kind - the better to exercise influence over mortal affairs and wreak havoc on a larger scale. She has crossed paths with VASCU and others who would oppose her and her masters cult time and again - especially the current Jersey Devil Mike Hayes, whom she dearly wants to bring into her master's service.

Khala is a remorseless monster with not a shred of humanity remaining, despite her appearance and outward behavior, and those who fall for her lies rarely live to regret it. Worse still, she has the benefit of her masters cult, a world-wide network of nihilistic fanatics, to draw upon to assist her in her mission to bring the world to ruin. Wherever she appears destruction and death inevitably follow, and many a would-be hero has met his end in one of her many fanged maws.

You can also fabricate 'american' monsters whole cloth, or base them off of something else. be creative! I love to see original creations!

TheGlyphstone

From a certain point of view, any 'cultural' nightmare/horror could be an 'immigrant' to America, following along in the minds and traditions of people from its native home. Part of the American mythos itself is being a nation built by immigrants, it'd be logical for that mythos to apply to its supernatural structure as well.

TheBlackThrone

The folklore of the monster I wanted didn't originate in America, but came over and became popular over the years, but isn't as wildly celebrated as it is in Europe. But if I must choose a strictly North American/South American monster, I got one in the oven. Currently, I'm trying to figure out the rule book in relation to the sheet. This will be my first ever system game because I always felt systems cramp creativity. But I'm willing to sacrifice it for an interesting idea.

Don't worry, it isn't that tough and we'll help you through it. Your monster of choice can be one that migrated from elsewhere, too, so that's perfectly okay. Please do ask if you need help grasping anything system-wise!

I don't mind playing a Wendigo.  Though we'll see.  If I could think of something else I liked I might would go with it, but so far they all have seemed generic or not quite right (a horror associated with nuclear weapons, etc).

Beast version 2!  Based very loosely on the Beast of Gévaudan, Hack/Slash, Slasher, Friday the 13th/Halloween type movies, etc.   I couldn't find an image I liked, so I am using Jason for now.

Delphi is (was?) a bartender in (city), located not far from a local university.  A mainly student bar, before Delphi showed up it had numerous problems with organized crime, sexual predators, and local gang-bangers.  After she showed up, the problems seemed to stop.  There is an unspoken rule among those in the know, stay the fuck away if you plan to cause trouble.

A predator of predators, Delphi hungers after those who think they have, or crave, power.  She doesn’t always kill them, she’s quite happy to leave them feeling helpless, exposed, and afraid.  Her main fair are the bar types.  A man trying to roofie his date.  A tough guy who wants to show how bad-ass he is.  Her preference, however, is for things a bit worse.  When she’s in the mood, when she craves something special, she hunts Slashers, Vampires, and other so called alpha predators.

Delphi doesn’t tend to get along with Vampires, Werewolves, and similar creatures.  She has an odd sympathy for Changelings and Prometheans, and often allows Changelings to feed in her bar as long as they’re respectful.

Delphi’s horror is still humanoid, but no longer human.  The proportions are all wrong, skin stretches over strange movements beneath, limbs lengthen and shorten, her jaw opens impossibly wide, and so on.  Occasionally it collapses entirely, into a swarm of alien arachnids, sometimes contained by her skin, sometimes not.

Just so that I'm not going to spend points of pointless skills, you said that this is a suicide-style game, right? So are all the characters just captured, placed on a team, and forced to work to achieve a common goal? There won't ever be a sandbox period where they go about normal lives? Or is it they're going about their normal lives but when that shadowy agency calls them to work, they have to abandon everything to go handle whatever mission that agency has them do?

Also, how does this work when it comes to feeding and all that? Are the characters capable of switching to the monster forms or do they just always stay in their human form (not sure if you're going with your way or the manual's way)? My character may also be too unique for the Beast The Primordial skill options...but I'm still working my way through the document in combination with CoD 2.0 (for certain things) to create my character.

It's sort of in the spirit of Suicide Squad, but not every member was necessarily captured (though they could be). Some might have accepted VASCU's offer for other reasons such as having them do something that the Beast couldn't otherwise accomplish themselves. VASCU prefers willing participants to coerced, unwilling ones. Between episodes you can do whatever you want with whomever you want! In fact, feeding is expected to happen a lot during these periods, and your satiety when you go into an episode depends on how high or low your satiety is when you get called off on a mission.

As for how we're doing it, generally you look human (in the mortal world) unless you spend Satiety on an atavism. THEN your monstrous traits start showing through to anyone who can see you, with the exception of atavisms that by their very nature are intended to be subtle. If you need any help nailing the character concept mechanically, just ask away and i'll gladly help.

If you guys want to start without me, then that's fine. I am still trying to work the kinks out. I didn't get a chance to this weekend because I was too busy having an awesome weekend  ^-^. But I'll eventually reach completion now that the GM has answered all my inquiries.

Everyone who is done with characters go ahead and post them in the character thread and we'll get this going sometime later today.

I still had 10XP left to burn, and I wasn't sure what to do with it. I can just dump it into combat skills, which would fit the concept, but I wasn't sure what skill you'd have us rolling if we needed to track/follow someone (Survival seems to be only for animals).

Survival is what you'd roll regardless of what kind of animal you're tracking - even the human animal :)

Life: Honest

Occupation: RA in one of the dorm buildings

Oh, and I don't think I ever got an answer to the question of if Wings of the Raptor would work for me when I was mounted/riding a motorcycle.

Still trying to think of an exact concept to use for this. Monster that is always just at the corner of your eye? Kinda like Slenderman I suppose.

When in doubt, tap classical mythology, and if you can't find anything suitably in Western/European lore, go to other cultures. There's some seriously freaky stuff in various Asian and African cultural myths.

Yeah, definitely draw on other cultures and tell me how that monster made it to america. Get those characters done so we can start this party!

So should I just make something up for my custom night mare? And if so can I pitch some others?

Do you allow flaws btw? (are those a thing in nWOD?)

Chronicles of Darkness/GMC uses a different way of handling flaws. You can have as many as you feel appropriate for the character but unlike previous editions they don't give you bonus points at character creation. Instead, every time that flaw or complication comes up in play and causes your character difficulty you get to take a Beat. So more inconvenient flaws will yield more experience, and you can make them up yourself.

ShadowFox89

Hey ED, wouldn't happen to be able to hop on AIM so I can bounce character ideas at you, would you?

That's neat.  I'll have to do that.  Do we have an ooc discussion thread yet btw?
