Starting a picture-related thread

...and that's a little touchy these days ;D What I want to do is start a thread in the socializing forum called 'NSFW - The BBW appreciation picture thread'. Obviously this will contain images of scantily-clad amply-built women. Seeing that there were no complaints when a thread focusing on sexy underwear ran for a goodish while it shouldn't be too risque, particularly with the Not Safe For Workplace warning in the title.

I'm not without doubts though. Yes, yes, I know, this is a writer's site and not a picture site. We have quite a lot of pictures posted here though in various threads; personal ones, humorous ones, kinky drawings; almost the only thing that seems missing are full nudity photos and I don't really miss them here. The pics I expect in that thread would be wearing at least kinky underwear. I freely admit that part of my reason for wishing to create this thread rather than, say, muscleman or 'well-endowed' or asian or any of the other popular porn-pic categories, is to give a heavyhanded hint to the ampler females of our site that they are as appreciated as the rest of the women here.

So my questions are: is a pic thread like that desireable at Elli? Will it set a bad example or work against its purpose? Is it even legal according to the rules? Actually I can't even find the rules about this particular issue.

I don't know about the rules aspect, but I'd definitely suggest putting it in Adult Socializing if the pics are scantily clad.

My opinion (you knew this was coming!):

I don't think a pic thread focused on any subgroup should be made.  Before we know it we will have a gazillion different pic threads and well...a gazillion of others popping up thereafter.  A hat thread, yes...a lingerie thread, yes...but a BBW thread or an Asian Hottie thread...no.

If Elliquiy began to allow nude pictures of its members I would not want to be associated with it.  I'm sure I am not alone on the matter.  It is an adult -writing- site.  Besides, I think there would be too many legal issues involved...I know one site has troubles with minors posting nude pics!  The age validation system here is not perfect (impossible to be)...what if a minor posted his or her nude picture?  It then becomes child pornography.

There's already a sticky about members not being allowed to post nude pictures of themselves.  I don't think we need to worry about that.

There really is no need for members to post nude pictures of themselves.  Wanna see nude people, do a google search.  This is not a porn site, this is an adult writing site.  Want to send your nude photo to someone who wants to see it?  That's what there are PMs and IMs for.
