Captain Jorrick (Yor’rick) Gatling
Former Name: Raider Captain Yan Zieg – The Horse Slayer
A name bestowed upon the captain for his reputable strength. Stories say that when he swung a blade, he not only threw the enemy from his horse, but cut the mount asunder.
Age: 34
Sex: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Role: Pirate Captain & King of the Sea and the ship Siren Song

Distinguishing Traits: No one knows the exact appearance of the infamous sea captain. There are many stories embellishing his size and feats. They say he devours fire, shits lightning, and wrestles with sea monsters. As accurate as those stories may be (jokes), Gatling’s Naga heritage is as present in his blood as it is in his stature. The Captain stands roughly seven-feet with little body fat except in the most necessary of places. He’s as burly as an elm due to a high protein diet and wears a sturdy, black officer’s jacket of hide, his captain’s cap, and two katanas at his hip: Blood & Tears. His trademark zanbato (zhan ma dao) - the very weapon that gave him the title of Horse Slayer - Abaddon is kept in his cabin. The blade resembles a shark tooth with serrated edges and is six-feet long. Besides those weapons, he is mostly seen using a cutlass and throwing stilettos.

Captain Gatling has short, black hair. He has an eye as black as a moonless night and the shells of his ears are lined with studs of precious stones. About his neck hangs a jeweled compass, one of the spoils he gathered on his raids. A linear map of the world is tattooed across his forearms. When he brings his forearms side-by-side, the map is shown in full. You want the most accurate map you've ever laid eyes on, just look at the captain's arms. Any new land, isle, danger, or geographical feature he's encountered, he adds to his personal map. On his back, a pictorial he’s had since his time serving under the Nagas, the head of a red demon or perhaps a Naga, breathing fire upon an army.

When he was Yan Zieg, he lost his right eye during an assassination attempt. The arrow was meant to pierce through his eye into his brain, but hadn’t quite made it that far. It is said when Yan recoiled from the pain of the arrow first entering his eye, that the jerking of his head threw the arrow’s momentum. The removal of the arrow dislodged his eye and he has since replaced it with a pale-blue glass one. A scar extends over this eye from the highest point of his cheekbone to just beneath his brow and a second scar can be seen in a thin, horizontal cut beneath his left eye. He tends to keep a black eye patch, which bears the white skull of death over his right eye.

Likes: Grog, spirits (liquor), women, sex, raiding, partying, drinking games, good insults and jokes, good fights, gold, treasure, his ship, and the freedom granted by the high seas.
Dislikes: Having his life dictated, grog shortages, and Nagabred.

About: A story of two lives. Yan Zieg was born to a whore by a mysterious gentleman. He was put into an orphanage and from there his indomitable and rebellious spirit manifested as he grew older. He was a small boy, and his small size made him the ass of many jokes and the target of bullying. When he reached the working age, many Naga warriors found him too small and unfit to even saddle their horses. Jobless and without a home, he lived the life of a street urchin. He, along with other orphans, picked the pockets of men and women, risking their lives for stealing from Naga-slayers was fatal if caught. One day, Yan was caught by a slayer who could have easily detached his small head from his shoulders. Unlike the others who had succumbed to death when caught, the Naga Slayer looked into his eyes and to this day, Yan doesn’t know what the warrior had seen. He was spared, but not without consequence. The man with his knife, cut his face just beneath his left eye. The scar would remind him of his first death. For the warrior believed that a man died many times before the ground took him in.

Yan worked as the warrior’s servant, keeping his blades sharp and clean, his armor buffed, and he performed other duties that often times seemed pointless and only for his master’s amusement. He had to move rocks, which soon led to boulders, and was often humiliated, pulling the warrior’s carriage like a mule. When his master’s sword brothers would visit, he was ridiculed and beaten when they were drunk. The stress of his new life made him flee, and he hadn’t gotten far. After two days of freedom, his master found him. Yan was shocked to see that he had gone through the trouble of tracking him down. His master knocked him out and returned him to his home. When he came to, his master gave him his next task, and that had been the last straw. To this day, there hadn’t been a man he wanted to kill so badly. That night when his master slept, Yan crept into his room and sought to kill him in his sleep. His master woke before he could render the killing strike, and the two wrestled for half an hour. They fought until the house was a mess and until their limbs were too weak to keep them steady. Enraged and exhausted, Yan was determined to fight that man until his last breath, and what had ended the fight was a mere statement of praise, “About time.”

Yan’s master was Saladin Bishop, The Three-Star Swordsman known for his three sword technique. In battle, if ever he was disarmed, he trained himself to work with any blade he could find, and would normally be seen carrying no more than three blades. The lesson behind his oppression was if Yan was going to be a bitch, then he would die like one. But because Yan finally decided to kill his oppressor that he learned what it was to be a true warrior and that warriors served themselves. From that day, Saladin taught Yan everything he knew. Yan didn’t hit his growth spurt until he was sixteen, having grown quite massive from the runt he had been before. Under his master’s tutelage, he became strong and joined the Naga Army to serve alongside him. Yan excelled and even earned his own name in battle, being known as the Horse-Slayer.

Though the Naga boast of their numerous victories, there were cases where the clan became too full of itself and faced defeat. In the first defeat that ever occurred in his service, Yan lost his master. A Nagabred had ripped him apart before his eyes. When the army managed to capture the creature, the king had changed his policy. Instead of slaying the creatures, they would enslave them and use them like their previous enemies had done. Infuriated by the changes, in the next battle, Yan disappeared. No one is certain what happened to him, but the rumor was he had died, having succumbed to an end that left him indistinguishable when his body was found. His master’s wisdom led for Yan to live for himself. He cut his once flowing and long black hair. He left behind anything that affiliated him with the Naga, taking only his weapons that bore time, history, and represented the warrior he truly was. He sought to get away from his home. With a new name, he started aboard a merchant ship, and from there, the legends of the Pirate King would follow.

The captain isn’t as ruthless as the stories claim. He gets stowaways and he only keeps the ones that are useful, while he feeds the ones deemed useless to the sharks. He enjoys living free of the worries of war, politics, and all that scuttle of shit that has nothing to do with anybody but those arguing. He raids towns and villages regardless of kingdom and explores unexplored regions and isles seeking treasure. Every now and then, his ship will encounter a rivaling enemy, and like so many, he’ll take the wenches and the riches and leave the ship like a rubber ducky in a bathtub until the sea claims the casket. The captain firmly believes that there isn’t a fight he can’t win, whether it be naval or physical. Death is the only defeat, and because he’s still alive, he hasn’t lost.

The greatest thing about the rumors and legends that surround his name, is that he can walk amongst the people, and they'll never know who he is at first glance. This has allowed him to walk freely into towns who have bounties on his head, drain their bars, bed their women, and leave with the same smile he walked in with. He's intimidating when the mood calls for him to be, but he's mostly laid-back with a pride that can't be tarnished. Good fights, good jokes, good drinks, gold and good women that's what he lives for.

Habits: Many bad habits: hocking loogies, scratching his nuts or just adjusting down there in public, belching, farting, digging in his ears, playing with his glass eye...he has a sailor mouth, grooms with any sharp object, and uses his fist to solve many problems he deems too unnecessary for his brain to bother with. He isn’t against hitting a woman unless she’s too pretty to make ugly. Plain and simple, don’t ever invite him to a dinner at the level of etiquette of the Iredale House. He makes etiquette look like a big joke.

Skills:

Excellent Navigator: The captain knows the ocean like the back of his hand. He is attuned with the changes in weather and with his flesh map and compass can navigate his ship on a starless night. At times, his glass eyes acts as a magnifying glass. He'll remove it and place it over the fine print or image he's trying to better scrutinize.

Naval Warfare: He wasn’t given the title of Pirate King by being a son and heir. The captain earned the title by working at it, destroying all of his rivals over the years. He went from just sailing a merchant ship to a royal battle ship, royal because he took one as a prize from the Iredale Navy. Rather than sink it, he claimed it and put the survivors overboard. To this day, he uses it as a mockery to Iredale's naval power.

Swordsmanship: Though he has two other weapons at his hip, the captain is rarely seen using any weapon besides his cutlass. If the captain can take anyone with his cutlass, then that’s about as far as their skills got them. If ever he’s forced to throw aside his cutlass to use Blood & Tears, then no longer will his opponent be battling Captain Gatling but Raider Captain Yan Zieg.

Big & Sturdy: You're talking to a man that can sever a horse in half with a blade. He's not only strong, but a light-weight individual may find him hard to take down. His thick muscles and hard head  can absorb many blunt strikes with mild consequences: chairs, table legs, glass bottles (as seen from his many bar brawls). If you aren't packing something just as stubborn and blunt, then you may be barking up the wrong tree. Pick your fights wisely, the captain can lay a fool out.

Brawler: Without his blades, the captain is primarily a brawler. He'll use what's around him as a weapon and will even play dirty such as crotch-punches, sand or drink in the eyes; a fight is a fight and if his opponent can't handle the realism behind it, then they need to take defeat with a tight ass. His style mostly revolves around his strength, moving less, absorbing strikes in exchange that he can lay a hand on his opponent as a consequence. Don't let him grab you, he can cripple a man with his strength alone.

Foreign Language: He’s not fluent but he’s picked up languages from his journeys for the purpose of trade and negotiation.

Violin: He plays violin!

Drinking: The captain is a man with an iron stomach. He can drink many a man or woman under the table. He has drank grog from several different nations, islands, and tribes and has lived to talk about each one. He loves a good drinking game.

To be clear, the Iredale are known for their intellect and wealth, while they may be tactical and have a strong navy, they aren't really "warrior-types." More politicians, so they'd be good at debates, speeches, etc. The Wintershold house are the warrior types. So, really, intellect would be very true to the Iredale name. That's not a problem, nor is it a unique trait in the Iredale house.

Also, another concern is that her having parkour as a skill and klutzy as a weakness just doesn't make sense to us.

Other than those issues we like the character.

Oh sorry about that, I fixed the changes though and I hope she fits the Iredale Family better now. I'm glad you like her.

About the her being skilled at parkour but terribly klutzy, I know that sounds funny and kind of cancels out the other but I was thinking she could be good at parkour but when it came to ettiquette or when she's nervous she tends to get hurt. If you still don't like it I understand though.

Also I just want to apologize for taking so long to reply, it's not like me. I recently moved and could not get the internet up and working in my house. I had to send away for a modem, very frustrating!

Name: Ashtoreth Rose Iredale
Played By: WhiteWave
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual (untapped bisexuality)
Role: Princess of Iredale
Distinguishing Traits: Blue eyes, pale skin, full lips, an hourglass figure, always seems to have positive and unique atmosphere that relaxes those around her.
Likes: Art, Books, Theatre, The Sea, Swimming, Tales of Adventures, Adventuring, Her People, Animals, Loyalty, Honesty, Meeting People, Trying new things.
Dislikes: Arrogance, Spoiled Brats, Being Stuck inside the Castle, Wars that are purely fought to obtain more power, Senseless violence (though she loves to watch a good sparring), Elise Iredale.

About: Ashtoreth is one of the royal children of the House of Iredale. She has always been a bit different than her brothers and sister, they are more of the military and tactical types than her. She is a free spirit, an artist and adventurous. She quite a trouble causer but not out of ill intent, she simply does what she feels is right. Though she lacks military skill, she did gain her families natural intellect.  Her skills are put to use as an artist, great debater, and speaker. Though she doesn't often use it in a way that pleases her family. She prefers to speak for those who cannot get the attention of the higher ups themselves.

Unfortunately what she calls free spirited others see as rebellious. There have been numerous occasions where she has had to be brought back home by the head guards because she sneak off and out of the castle. It could be for any number of her usual reasons. Whether it's something simple like she felt like going out to sea, for fun, or even dressing up and acting as a civilian. Or for one of her more serious reasons such as to avoid one of the men that her mother has set up for her to meet or to attend civilian meetings so she can find out what the people of Iredale want.

The Queen is not pleased with her little stunts and has grown irritated with the girl. Not only with her running around but also that she defends and socialize with civilians. Though since her mother is much more infuriated with Violet's sexual preference Ashtoreth does not receive all of her anger by herself. In her mother's eyes there is still hope for Ashtoreth since she is young and prays that these outbursts of hers are just a phase. The Queen is determined to marry her off to a good family and a strict husband that would be able to keep her in line. Ashoreth knows this and so far she has successfully avoided the men or simply have shown what an unfit wife she would be with her rebellious nature.

Marriage to some high ranking stuck up man is the last thing she wants. She wishes to travel, to paint and write of the places she sees. Though her mother seems determined to put a stop to even the thought of it. Ashtoreth is torn to not leave though since she is needed and must make sure to be there to continue her vital role as a mediator and speaker for the common civilians of Iredale. She wishes to make sure her people and all people are safe from the different royalties and their selfish desires. The fact that the Naga and her own family are so ready to start a war just to acquire more territory and land disgusts and concerns her.

Despite her rebellious habit and feisty tongue she is actually a very sweet and innocent girl with looks that fit. She is an absolutely stunning young lady. She inherited her mother's great beauty despite her refusal to overly care about her looks. She has very fair skin and chestnut/auburn hair. Hey eyes are the same blue of the ocean and they shimmer as deep. Her figure is an hourglass though her stature is not that tall, seeing as she is only 5'4.

Habits: She bites her lip when she's nervous or uncomfortable. She tends to speak her mind and act with thinking first. She also has a bad habit for getting into trouble (such as sneaking out of the castle and not showing up to certain events).
Skills:
-Very smart and witty
-Magnificent artist (so much so she receives commissions by many powerful and high ranking beings)
-Great sense of humor
-Excellent Swimmer
-Eloquent and skilled debater and speaker
-Quick on her feet
-Parkour/Free Running

Weaknesses:
-Terribly ungraceful and klutzy
-Easily flustered
-Will not back down for what she believes in.
-Can allow her emotions to get the best of her

Opinion of King Loyd

He is her father and she loves him dearly. He truly is a good parent, he loves his wife and children. Also being more understanding of her sisters preference. Her only issue is the same issue she has with most of her Iredale family, their desire to wealth and power.
Opinion of Queen Angelina

Her mother and her come to odds quiet often. It is usually do to her mother's close mindedness or because Ashtoreth has disappointed her once again. Many say they clash because the girl has her mothers stubbornness. Do not think ill of her disagreement with her though, she respects her mother as both her parent and her Queen. It is simply that her mother thinks happiness comes from power, control, money, and beauty. While Ashtoreth couldn't disagree more.
Opinion of Prince Andre

Her oldest brother and she cares for him as such. He is a great military captain, brother, and a good man. She especially enjoys the quality time he makes sure to spend with her and her other family members. She is happy that he is the heir to the thrown. Though it does worry her greatly that he has such a great disdain for the Naga, to the point where it could ruin the chances of avoiding war.
Opinion of Prince Hector

Her brother and her share their dislike of the etiquette and standard of higher society. He was actually someone she admired as a child when she would watch him leave the castle pretending to be someone else just to walk around the kingdom. As a young girl her first time sneaking out was following her brother during one of his outings. The only concern she has with him is the number of woman he takes into his bed. Though she doesn't hold it against him, she simply teases him about it.
Opinion of Princess Violet

She loves her sister very much and supports her personal choices. She and her sister have both had their fair share of run ins with their mother. Ashtoreth never even bat a lash when she found out about her sisters preference towards woman. What ever made her happy she would support. Very often she defends her sister when her mother makes cruel remarks or comments about her.
Opinion of Elise
What a complete and utter spoiled brat! Strutting around like she's better than others. She may be beautiful but that attitude of hers is ugly. The two of them are complete opposites in their personality and opinions. When she catches her cousin mistreating the servant girls she quickly puts an end to it. Ashtoreth and Elise butt heads often to say the least.
Opinion of Vhaun

Her cousin who she personally holds no aggression towards though she can see the irritation in his eyes at her family. She understands and knows why but only from being told of what happened while he was child. Unfortunately she was not around or old enough to understand what was going on when he was growing up since she is 9 years younger than him. She is very angered of her families treatment of him and believes it is their fault for the clear resentment he holds. She has always shown him kindness when he is around and has many times tried to offer him a friendship. It's upsetting her now to notice how deceptive he truly is. Until he wrongs her or does anything at is unforgivable she will treat with with respect and kindness.

While we understand the humor of being great at parkour and being terribly klutzy, the combination really doesn't make sense. It's going to be very hard for her to be taken seriously no matter how good she is at parkour plus given the danger factor of parkour I can't see her surviving for very long if she's terribly klutzy when she misses a pole she needs to grab onto by a few inches. Hell, even an inch can be a huge distance when it comes to parkour (and I'm not even super knowledgeable about it I'm just semi-familiar).

Your character will be approved but we'd really like it if you would make a firm decision as to whether you want her to be klutzy or parkour master. Having both just won't work, but you can still find ways to play your character with some comedy :D

Hey all. I have some tentative interest in this game and a couple questions:

1) I can look at characters, but I can't look at activity. Which house most needs another male character?

2) House Nwydn: Would a werewolf make an acceptable prince?

3) House Naga: What's the deal with the true Naga/dragons? I'm thinking about a Naga-breeder or slayer.

4) I have a pretty good idea that the answer is low, but I'll ask. What level of magic exists in this world?
Pretty much scrapped my signature because everything in it is hilariously out of date. I might work on fixing that eventually.

I can't speak for any of the other questions but I do know enough about the Naga to be able to answer Number 3.

Basically the Naga Clan have named themselves after the fully grown Naga, these fully grown Naga are basically just dragons and are a very rare sight (well, I have assumed that anyway). The Naga-Bred are a cross between the Naga and Humans, they have the strength of 10 men, have horns and varying levels of scaled skin, and have extra good senses. However, they are also sort of animalistic, in a way, they have a harder time controlling and their emotions and they can only access their super strength when they are in a sort of "berserk mode" (this is to prevent them from being too OP). There was a war between the Naga clan and the Naga-bred (details are still very vague on that) which occurred ~5 years ago in the game and now all the remaining Naga-bred have been rounded up to be slaves.

That's all I can answer though, for character details I leave that to our lovely GMs.

Okay, I'll answer this as best I can~

1. The Sheikah house is top, followed by the Nwydn house.
2. We're staying away from creatures like werewolves, they tend to leak into another genre that we'd like to keep a distance from, so that would be a no.
3. Assassini pretty much nailed it. There's Naga, which were hunted to extinction, they're pretty much dragons. Nagabred (those descendent from Naga) and Naga-slayers (those that conquered the Naga and the Nagabred descendents). We're not taking any more Nagabred characters but we will certainly accept Naga-slayer characters.
4. Yeah, pretty much low. There are varying forms of magic, such as the Nwydn have some varied control over nature and can do some other small things. The Sheikah are probably able to weaponize magic most but they can only use magic in pairs- One Sheikah being is basically a carrier, a reservoir but cannot actually use their magic. Another Sheikah is a user, this one can use magic but depends on the presence of a magic carrier in order to be able to use it. Then the Nagabred have some magical qualities but they don't use magic. Wintershold, Iredale and Naga-slayers are pretty much magic-less.

NO LOOSE ENDS; LET NONE BE THE NOOSE.

Snowangel

Name: Queen Fakhir (Glory) Naga
Age: 38
Sex: Female
Orientation: Heterosexual
Role: Naga Queen

Distinguishing Traits: Gray eyes, floor length black hair and pale skin.

Likes: Her children, being alone, sailing, reading, secrets, and intrigue.
Dislikes: Her husband, Her husbands child from his previous marriage, her adopted daughters manliness, out spoken people, holding court with her husband, and horse back riding.

About: Fakhir was born to a prominent family, a family that was driven by the need for power and wealth, and was forced into marrying Ucigas after his first wife died in child birth. At the time she had already been promised to another man and was madly in love with him but her family seeing a better opportunity forced her to marry Ucigas instead, leaving her heartbroken with their decision. Having not other option and with a heavy heart, Fakhir entered into a marriage pact with Ucigas. At first she tried to find room in her heart for him but he was always busy making plans for conquering the Naga and spent only the required amount of time with her, in the bedroom. The neglect from her husband and the loss of her former love left her in a dark place that brewed a loathing for her husband that was slightly remedied by the birth of her first child. Her son was the beacon of light that healed some of her shattered heart until the day his father, her husband, took him away from her to teach him the ways of a warrior. She was no longer allowed a say in her sons life once he became a teenager and was hardly allowed to see him at all because Ucigas didn't want his son to become softened by a woman's touch. Once again she was left alone and brokenhearted because of the man she called husband and what was once only loathing turned into pure unadulterated hate for the man.

Now she commits her time to finding a way to dethrone her husband and put her eldest son in his place. No one but herself knows about her sordid plans of treason because she knew that if she told her son, being forever loyal to his father, would do everything in his power to stop her and wasn't sure that if it came down to choosing side which one he would be on due to how tightly his father had him wrapped around his finger. She also didn't have any friends and could hardly be expected to share something of this magnitude with a servant, as they love to talk and would more than likely be the undoing of any well laid plan. She had plenty of motive and now all she needed to get what she wanted was means and opportunity.

Habits: Brushing her finger through her hair when bored, wandering the hall of her castle aimlessly during the night, redecorating her husbands rooms to irritate him, chooses her words carefully before speaking and picks at her food without eating most of it.

Skills:

  • Excellent hearing
  • Perfect calligraphy
  • Perfect at dancing, singing and instrument playing
  • High level of deductive reasoning
  • Immaculate etiquette

Thoughts on Ucigas
Wishes that he had never come into her life and believes he is the reason for her unhappiness.

Thoughts on Lenally
Loves her as if she were of her own flesh and blood but wishes that she were more ladylike and didn't want to follow in her father footsteps.

Thoughts on 'Rues'
Loves him more than life itself but is saddened when she see him as he is no longer the child she raised but almost an exact copy of the man she hates.

Thoughts on Alexander
Is glad he's dead and can't claim the throne that rightfully belongs to her eldest son.

Being the player of King Ucigas, I wanted to bring up a point with your sheet, Snowangel. Something that I feel clashes with my own ideas about Ucigas.

I don't actually see him as fully denying her the ability to see her child at any point. There might have been extended periods during training where she couldn't, but never full denial. On the other hand, I could see Ucigas cautioning Rues about anything she might try to teach their son that he felt would weaken him as a leader, most likely in a manner that would be insulting to her.

There's also the fact he can be a right bastard at times, when he's displeased. I'm certain after all these years, there's at least a couple dozen things she's been rebuked or chastised for, which is something else that could provide a focal point for her to be upset and vindictive over.

I was worried that her views on your character might step on some toes thus why I said hardly instead of never but if you feel as if my portrayal of your character from the view point of her mind is too harsh I would be happy to change it. My thought process for why she felt as if he took her child away from her is because she is unwilling to believe that her son would rather spend time with his father then with her, at that age, and thus believes that he's purposefully keeping him from her. In reality I'm sure that being a little boy at the time and getting extra attention from his father made him want to spend way more time with him rather than his sometimes overbearing mother who tends to smother him with love and affection. So really my character already being predisposed to disliking your character would rather blame him over whatever the reality of the situation might be but again if you think this is too unfair I am willing to change it. Please let me know. :)

If that's her perception of events, then I'm all cool with it.  :-)

There is something wrong in life when my most dominate side is my muse, and she doesn't listen to me. She skips around doing her own thing and ignoring me.

No need to rush Snape, take your time and think about it. At the moment I think we're doing fairly well on a lot of things, but I can always double check and Octo and I can see what spots need to be filled *nod nod* :)

I just wanted to make sure this picture was fine before starting to craft a character for her.
