Just so everyone's aware, the reason I've been pretty silent on this game since posting the ad is because I've been sick for about a week now. I haven't abandoned it. But I also haven't had the energy to deal with a starting up a group game.

Anyway, we could definitely do something like that, Esoterica. That will absolutely fit, and like Phobetor said, it'll open up some potential new roles/professions for characters.

Personality: Katarina has always been the type who is not afraid to speak her mind. She knows what she wants and she goes for it. She may seem to have a slight dark exterior, but she has a softer side that sometimes comes out when she is dealing with others. She will not call names or engage in humiliation or degradation unless this is something that the individual in question is comfortable with and desires. She also believes that aftercare is important after a scene, and she will absolutely not engage in anything without the consent of the person involved. The health safety and dignity of those she works alongside of is of the utmost importance to her.
Bio: Katarina came to discover her dominant side early on in her adventures in the dating world. She rebelled against her conservative Christian upbringing and the idea that a woman should be submissive to a man in particular. She also resisted the idea that there was something wrong with being attracted to women that was pounded into her head growing up. She is attracted to both men and women and makes no apologies for it.

Bio: Cecilia comes from a 'normal' Christian family.  Her parents are firm believers that if you do not go to church you are going to hell.  Something of which bothered her, but until she was 18 she was stuck living at home while doing her best to keep them from finding out that she was not the perfect Christian girl that they believed she was.  The moment she was old enough a couple of her friends came over and helped her to move all of her belongings to their house where she was finally free to be the person she wanted to be.  Ever since then she has had no contact with her family, not that it bothers her really.

A few years passed and she still felt like something was lacking in her life.  That was when a computer search led her to find Cedarwood Isle, a place that she felt she could fully be herself and not have to worry about her family finding her there.  And so she would fill out her application becoming one of the latest residents.  Using money she has saved up, she plans to open up a boutique where she will sell items she has made as well as rent out space to others that might desire to sell clothing/accessories that they make as well.

There are so many options here that I'm having a hard time narrowing them down. I was thinking of a married gay man who works as a photographer and finds out that he enjoys female submission when he takes a shibari photoshoot as a side gig. Then I thought of the classic author looking to research his new book or a jilted ex who comes to the island after a bad break up only to find their ex already on the island.

You could even someone who has no interest in the lifestyle itself but has a business connection to it come to the town like a latex salesman or someone like that.

Bio:
Dean and Nicolette have been married for almost twelve years, Dean being Nicolette's first and only love. That is not to say she had not had other lovers, Dean has just been the only one who understands her. Dean is a well-known published author with a series of fantasy novels that have made the best seller lists. While their relationship had always been solid, they were missing that special spark and so five years ago Dean and Nicolette opened their relationship to explore the possibility of polyamory and BDSM. They soon met a lovely young submissive woman and became a triad but after only a year and a half, the relationship crumbled with Nicolette being left pretty hurt. He hangs somewhere between introvert and extrovert, depending on who you are to him -- he's outgoing and social to those close to him but reserved and polite to those who he doesn't know quite so well. He is direct and forward, and doesn't lie or sugarcoat his words.

Bio: One might wonder what a person like Sasha is doing in Cedarwood Isle and, in truth, he often wonders that himself. Compared to the outgoing and public BDSM couples and singles that made their home in Cedarwood, Sasha is entirely inexperienced. To say he was there to find himself would be a half truth, as even though this is part of the reason he is there, it's not the entire story. The other half is to do with the fact that, when he first came to Cedarwood some five years ago, it was at the behest of his (now ex-)girlfriend, who was a known name in the BDSM porn community. His association with her was, however, lowkey and unknown to most. For the most part everyone would just assume they were cohabitating roommates of sorts that were both single. A year into their stay she moved to the west coast to further her career and their relationship ended -- mostly because by then Sasha had fallen in love with the community and the island itself, and did not want to move.

It was strange in a lot of ways that a stranger like him, with no real tangible experience in the BDSM world, had found himself so enamored with the people, their lifestyles and the entire set up of the island. On the other hand, it was hard to deny that Cedarwood Isle was one of a kind and while moving there had merely been a business move for his ex, it had been a sort of liberation for him. It would be hard to let go of that.

Throughout this time Sasha has been unemployed and sustaining himself on his savings, but he is actively looking for employment of any kind.

Bio: Cedarwood Isle is Delilah’s opportunity to start over. She grew up in Aiken, South Carolina, smack in the middle of horse country, peaches, and sweet tea. Southern charm and hospitality are the only things she wanted to bring with her from her childhood home. A little fool in love, she had married at seventeen. A marriage that became bitter and loveless when – after several years of trying for a baby – she learned she was never going to be able have children. It couldn’t happen naturally, and invitro was simply too risky. A hostile and messy divorce soon followed, much to the disappointment and distain of her family, which led Delilah to pick up the pieces of her life when she was twenty-five, and look for greener pastures elsewhere. A couple years of travel and a long list of temporary relationships led to several personal discoveries, not the least of which being her inclination to avoid deeply intimate and personal relationships and her tastes in BDSM. She heard about Cedarwood by accident, catching a snippet of conversation at a bar, and after some research and acquiring a few loans, she purchased an old, empty shop with a little apartment on top, just enough space for one. It’s been just shy of a year, and she hasn’t spent much time getting to know anyone, all of her time was invested into opening up the Fig + Sparrow: a mini Café  catering to her own little love affair with coffee.
