July 1927:   Robert Olmstead flees Innsmouth, Massachusetts.  Treasury Agents begin an investigation into Innsmouth.
February 1928:   The Navy invades the town of Innsmouth with the help of Project COVENANT.  Hundreds of American citizens are captured and rounded up into special military prisons denied their basic rights.  Against the backlash, the government claims Innsmouth was involved in a white slavery ring and spying for “foreign powers”.
November 1, 1929:  Project COVENANT becomes P Division.
1930-1942: P Division performs several operations, mostly in the Pacific Island region.  Missions are classified.
February 12, 1942:  Renamed after the little green triangles stuck on the folders of those who have worked with P Division, the organization is renamed DELTA GREEN.
February 1942-October 1945:  Delta Green battles the SS Karotechia during World War 2.
June-September 1945:  Delta Green eliminates the WEREWOLF organization.
October 1, 1945: Delta Green is disbanded.
June 24, 1947: An alien spacecraft allegedly crashes in Roswell, New Mexico.
July-December 1947:  Delta Green is reformed to help with the found alien spacecraft.  Majestic 12 is formed by President Truman to analyze the wreckage.  MJ-12 works on covering up the crash, Delta Green seems to show little interest in the downed spacecraft and start to pursue varied operations.
1948-1956: Delta Green runs Project SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY.  Its mission is to find and kill several key members of the Karotechia who escaped Nazi Germany after the war.
November 1969:  A Delta Green operation in Cambodia fails disastrously, resulting in the deaths of almost 300 U.S. servicemen.  The Joint Chiefs of Staff begin to investigate looking for a party to blame.
July 24, 1970: Delta Green is officially disbanded and begins its unofficial existence as an illegal conspiracy.
February 25, 1994:  Long time Delta Green member Major General Reginald Fairfield, U.S. Army (Retired) sends out his files to other Delta Green members right before he is assassinated in his home by Majestic 12.  Only one Majestic 12 member of the assassination team survives.
Spring/Summer 1994-Present Day:  Delta Green continues its fight from the shadows.  Its mission: To protect the United States from any and all paranormal activity.  Its enemy:  MJ-12 and the very government they are fighting to protect.

Delta Green is a modern day supplement for Call of Cthulhu.  In Delta Green you play various government workers (anything from FBI, to CIA, to Postal Inspector, to Park Ranger).  Working for a secret and illegal conspiracy you are thrown together into a cell.  Each cell is given a letter and consists of three agents in total.

Delta Green’s mission is to research and destroy the paranormal wherever it is found.  Through the connections of DG’s leaders, A Cell, and countless friendlies (allies who are not members) Delta Green will have its agents anywhere they can to find the truth and perhaps one day come out of the shadows.

This game would be a system game and I would like three players.  While you do not need to know anything about Delta Green you should know the BRP system for Call of Cthulhu.  The game will be fairly adult and will be in the extreme section (due to the often violent and dark nature of COC games).  Players would be asked to download the Byakhee character generator program with the Delta Green add-on.  This program makes it easy to update character sheets on and to send them back and forth.  I will be willing to make characters if asked too.

The game would start with none of the players being a member of Delta Green so no knowledge is really needed of the setting.  Any of the information above should give you an idea of the setting (though it is not necessarily public knowledge).

If you are interested I just need a statement of interest and a character background (as short as you want but more details are good).

Good luck and welcome to Delta Green.

I found this link on wikipedia.  This should explain Delta Green better to any who might be interested.

I might be interested. I played Cthulhu a few times, but surely I'll need help with the character generation. And I like the idea of a game where we slowly (hmm, slowly?) discover the truth about Delta.

As for a character, perhaps I need something more on the story. If I should just make one on the spot, hmm.. Perhaps I can throw in an idea and you tell me what you think about it.

>now reviewing the post on suggestions from TrippingSerpent: extended background.

A librarian from the Library of Congress, working with a small group that manages a sector of "forbidden" books. A rational man, always considered the issue laughable. Until a certain woman came searching for him.

Thick glasses, thin, tall body; a quick metabolism, needing to eat frequently. Dark, ruffled hair, dressing in outdated clothes.

He has no social skills and lives a life of isolation, loathing company, and especially women. One of the reasons for that (or perhaps an effect, who knows) is his well hidden attitude to take pleasure in the suffering of others; he finds an outlet by hunting, when he can walk alone in forests, shooting animals not to kill but to wound them, observing their slow death, sometimes skinning them alive with a small, curved knife he always carries with him.

His reclusion was challenged once by a woman - a prostitute, he thought at the time, who found him on the street and proposed, insisting so much that he did not manage to send her away. The price settled was unusually low, and she kept making questions.

Once they were in a nameless hotel, he felt like losing all his inhibitions, making love wildly, talking all the time. It was the talking that made him suddenly alert. He was talking about the books under his custody, something he was not supposed to be doing. He understood that she was playing tricks with his mind.

He took off knife and cut the back of his own hand. Deeply. The pain made him focus and for a moment he could see the woman as something different. Then he turned the blade against her.

Well........most of Delta Green recruits from certain government positions.  A worker from the Library of Congress (aka a librarian) would indeed be perfect for DG.

Anyone with that problem though would have to have it well hidden, someone who is a sociopathic murder isn't really a good Cthulhu character (thogh the hating social things and women would work).  It does have potential though. I would recommend playing a character with lower starting sanity, certian symptoms could develop.  It can work maybe, we would need to discuss it and I can help with a character.

Some of it would be player driven in that A Cell would give a mission but the players could follow up whatever evidence they wished too.  If you and Lily are interested, we would just need at least one more player.

Sounds like fun! With a librarian already slotted I'd be thinking of someone with a field operations orientation, perhaps secret service, assigned to guarding visiting heads of state. I'll look into Byakhee and flesh things out.

Cool.  In thinking up your backstory there should be something unexplainable that happened or something supernatural.  Whatever it was, it should have been hushed up quickly and quietly.

From an OOG stance, Delta Green tends to find those who encounter such things and who prove they can cover it up.  So if your character ran into some zombies in his career, writing that his partner was eaten alive by the walking dead doesn't go over well.  Telling your bosses that some drugged up heavily injured people took him down tends to work better.

Three people is enought to start, I would be okay if one or two more people wanted to play.

For those who are in (you three above me) just send me a bio/character.  Let me know if I need to make them for you (just give me an idea of what I am making).

So far we have:

daylily: Airforce Pilot
Loquacia: possibly secret service
Fedirico: Librarian

If there's a prescribed skill breakdown for a secret service agent I'll need that.

Philip Archer entered service with the Secret Service after a stint in the Marines serving primarily as an embassy guard in Saudi Arabia. His familiarity with the language and customs of the Middle East made him a natural pick for dignitary protection. He was guarding one of the wives of a visiting Sheik during a shopping expedition when she was attacked by a local adolescent, who tore off her veil and ran off with it. He loaned her his handkerchief to cover her face, preserving her dignity as best he could while he escorted her back to their hotel, but not before he saw what the veil concealed. When she returned to her home, he applied for leave time, traveled to his home town in Montana, and had a nervous breakdown.

Delta Green helped him make sense of what he had seen, helped him get his mind settled. For that, he is grateful and steadfastly loyal to them.

Transgirlenstein

I like both backgrounds, as an added thought Fedrico, the woman's body dissolved when it was taken care of into some sort of goo.

Loquacia, you have the choice of allready being a member of Delta Green or not, I have something thought up to get everyone involved but I am not opposed to maybe one of the three allready being a member.

Skill set for Secret Service Agents are:

Fast Talk, Handgun, Law, Listen, Psychology, Spot Hidden+ any two of the : Dodge (maybe used to intercept an attack against someone else), Forgery, Martial Arts, Submachine Gun

Federico, do you need me to make your character for you?

I don't have any need to start off as an active DG member, we can start off with him returning from his leave still unsettled but functioning. In any case, I've allocated skills. I'm not sure if you want SAN at full value given our characters' backstories, but I'll just list it as generated by Byakhee for now.
