Overview

World of Warcraft (inspired by Sword Art Online) will be a guided sandbox group game, where players will create characters that take part in a Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG). With the NerveGear, a helmet that stimulates the user's five senses via their brain, players can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds. On November 6, 10,000 players log into the Blizzard's mainframe cyberspace for the first time and discover that they are unable to log-out. They quickly discover they must complete the game and defeat the final boss if they wish to be free. Those who suffer in-game destruction or remove the NerveGear out-of-game will result in their real-life death.

*Note*
For people who are familiar with the Warcraft universe/ World of Warcraft game. This game will begin with the expansion of "The Burning Crusade". Up to this point, the NerveGear was unknown. Your player received this hardware as a "tester" for this expansion.

So all players will begin in Hellfire Penisula and have to work their way across the zones to "beat" the game and save their own lives.

Important Details

  • As expected, all of Elliquiy's rules apply here.
  • As Aretha Franklin said, have some respect for your co-writers. Drama is welcome in-character but it should remain there and not be brought into the OOC.
  • I understand mistakes happen. However, please attempt to use proper grammar within posts.
  • If you believe an image might be considered NSFW, please link the picture rather than place it in a picture tag.
  • It goes without saying that godmodding or using OOC knowledge is not permitted. If someone godmodes your character, send them a message to discuss and potentially edit their post. Please remember that everyone has a different definition of godmoding so the act might not have been intentional.
  • Characters will not be killed without the writer's consent. However, if a writer is gone for an extended period of time, they will be written out of the story. If a character holds an important role to the overall story, they will become the property of the GM if their writer is gone for an extended period of time.
  • Playing, joking, and messing around is lovely within the OOC. However, please no cybering. Take it to pms or an online messenger.
  • Please write in a third person, past tense narrative.
  • If an issue cannot be solved between players, the GM will make the final ruling. GM final decision is law.

Available Classes

Priest

Warrior

Hunter

Warlock

Rogue

Druid

Shaman

Mage

Paladin

  • Mage- All races can be mages except Taurens
Students gifted with a keen intellect and unwavering discipline may walk the path of the mage. The arcane magic available to magi is both great and dangerous, and thus is revealed only to the most devoted practitioners. To avoid interference with their spellcasting, magi wear only cloth armor, but arcane shields and enchantments give them additional protection. To keep enemies at bay, magi can summon bursts of fire to incinerate distant targets and cause entire areas to erupt, setting groups of foes ablaze.
  • Warlock- All races can be warlocksexcept Taurens
In the face of demonic power, most heroes see death. Warlocks see only opportunity. Dominance is their aim, and they have found a path to it in the dark arts. These voracious spellcasters summon demonic minions to fight beside them. At first, they command only the service of imps, but as a warlock’s knowledge grows, seductive succubi, loyal voidwalkers, and horrific felhunters join the dark sorcerer’s ranks to wreak havoc on anyone who stands in their master’s way.
  • Priest- All races can be priests.
These masters of the healing arts keep their companions fighting far beyond their normal capacities with an array of restorative powers and blessings. The divine forces at the priest’s command can also be turned against foes, smiting them with holy fury. As light cannot exist without darkness, and darkness without light, some priests tap into shadow to better understand their own abilities, as well as the abilities of those who threaten them.
  • Rogue- All races except Taurens and Draenei
For rogues, the only code is the contract, and their honor is purchased in gold. Free from the constraints of a conscience, these mercenaries rely on brutal and efficient tactics. Lethal assassins and masters of stealth, they will approach their marks from behind, piercing a vital organ and vanishing into the shadows before the victim hits the ground.
  • Druid -  Restricted to Taurens, Night Elves, and Trolls.
As master shapeshifters, druids can take on the forms of a variety of beasts, morphing into a bear, cat, storm crow, or sea lion with ease. This flexibility allows them to fill different roles during their adventures, tearing enemies to shreds one minute and surveying the battlefield from the sky the next. These keepers of the natural order are among the most versatile heroes in Azeroth, and they must be prepared to adjust to new challenges on a moment’s notice.
  • Hunter- All races can be hunters.
These expert marksmen drop foes dead in their tracks with flawless shots from a bow or rifle. Thanks to their pinpoint timing, hunters are able to fire their ranged weapons quickly – even at enemies who close to melee range with them. The art of survival is central to the isolated life of a hunter. Hunters track beasts with ease and enhance their own abilities by attuning themselves to the feral aspects of various creatures. Hunters are known for the lifelong bonds they form with animals of the wild, training great hawks, cats, bears, and many other beasts to fight alongside them.
  • Shaman- Restricted to Taurens, Trolls, Dwarves, Draenei, and Orcs.
Shaman are spiritual guides and practitioners, not of the divine, but of the very elements. Unlike some other mystics, shaman commune with forces that are not strictly benevolent. The elements are chaotic, and left to their own devices, they rage against one another in unending primal fury. It is the call of the shaman to bring balance to this chaos. Acting as moderators among earth, fire, water, and air, shaman summon totems that focus the elements to support the shaman’s allies or punish those who threaten them.
  • Warrior - All races can be warriors.
For as long as war has raged, heroes from every race have aimed to master the art of battle. Warriors combine strength, leadership, and a vast knowledge of arms and armor to wreak havoc in glorious combat. Some protect from the front lines with shields, locking down enemies while allies support the warrior from behind with spell and bow. Others forgo the shield and unleash their rage at the closest threat with a variety of deadly weapons.
  • Paladin- Restricted to Humans, Taurens, Blood Elves, Dwarves, and Draenei.
Ready to serve, paladins can defend their allies with sword and shield, or they can wield massive two-handed weapons against their enemies. The Light grants paladins additional power against the undead and demons, ensuring that these profane beings corrupt the world no longer. Paladins are not only zealots, but also guardians of the righteous, and they bestow blessings on those the Light would shine upon. The Light radiates from paladins, and worthy allies who stand near them are emboldened by its power.

Potential Professions

Primary Professions (Pick 2)
Alchemy: Alchemists use herbs to create strange, magical brews that heal, empower, and produce a variety of positive effects - invisibility, elemental resistance, mana restoration, and much, much more.
Blacksmithing: Blacksmiths utilize their expertise with hammer and anvil to craft deadly weapons, heavy suits of mail and plate armor, and other, more specialized items.
Engineering: Engineers take advantage of their inventiveness to create an immense (and occasionally random) variety of helpful items. By tinkering ceaselessly, and tolerating malfunctions and misfires, an engineer can make utterly unique objects: sight-enhancing goggles, potent guns, robot pets, mechanical mounts, and even more unusual trinkets.
Herbalism: Herbalists carefully harvest the helpful and potent herbs found throughout the world. As they travel, herbalists use their keen senses to seek out the rarest and most precious flora, which can be transformed by other professions' mystic recipes.
Leatherworking: Leather Workers take the rough, spiny or sturdy hides of beasts everywhere and turn them into useful products. First and foremost among these creations are lighter armors - leather and mail - as well as cloaks, bags, and unique patches and stitching that improve the defensive values of armor.
Mining: Miners pursue valuable and useful ores, extracting them straight from the earth with their picks. Their familiarity with the land gives them a strong notion of where rich veins of gold, silver or even more precious metals can be found, and they retrieve and smelt these minerals for profit, or for use in metalworking of all types.
Skinning: Skinners ensure that nothing goes to waste by removing the hides of dead beasts and amassing piles of fur and leather. Skinning is a straightforward, convenient profession for those already engaged in hunting animals, but it's highly useful, too. Exotic leathers (such as dragonskin) can command high prices, and they are critical to leatherworking plans, as well as some of the recipes of other professions.
Tailoring: Tailors take simple cloth and weave wonders out of it; cloth armor and robes, shirts, bags and other creations are the purview of the tailor. The benefits are diverse - lightly armored classes can wear mystic robes, all types of heroes can benefit from a variety of bags, and everyone can appreciate the decorative shirts and outfits springing from the tailor's loom.

Secondary Profession
Cooking: Cooks experiment with strange and wondrous ingredients gathered from the far corners of Azeroth. A dedicated chef is able to turn mundane ingredients, recently caught fish or leftover animal meat into a delectable and nutritious meal. Ambitious cooks can even create massive feasts to sate the hunger of entire adventuring parties.
First Aid: Physicians save lives in the dangerous world of Azeroth by using bandages and antidotes to heal injuries and remove poisons. By turning cloth of varying quality into potent medical supplies, they can quickly get wounded heroes back into a fight, supplementing (but not replacing) magical means of healing.
Fishing: Fishers relax and feed themselves by catching the bounty of Azeroth's lakes and seas. Careful bait selection and patience can result in some truly rewarding hauls, from seafaring delicacies that restore heroes' health or enhance their attributes to waterlogged flotsam like cases and trunks. Fishing can even yield rare reagents and items lost at the bottom of the ocean or swallowed up by sea creatures!

Experience Level: The original account holder is a hardcore gamer who spends more time than she should logged in. PvP is her preference though she has been known to raid on occasion when asked by friends. However, at the current time of the game, it is a total noob with no experience in MMOs (though she has played some video games--like Tetris, Tekken, and Wii Sports!) that is in control of a character that far exceeds her personal skill level.
Personality: Cocky Bitch! This particular character is very well known for being a hardcore PvPer of notable skill. She has a tendency to piss people off by talking lots of shit and seems to take great pleasure in cleaving through lower level players while waiting for the Battlegrounds. She has a fair number of haters and rivals lurking about--which is bad news considering the most recent circumstances.

I have never played a Priest in WoW.  I play better as DPS or Tank.  I kind of such at healing.  I did enjoy playing a shaman though.

Aiden

Please PM sheets to me.

The game is open regarding size, those who join then stop posting will be written off as an IC death (which results in your IC player dying.) that will help remind the remaining players that you die in game, you die in real life.

I will be trying to break characters into "parties"

consisting of a Healer/tank dps-support roles.

Those who try to lone wolf, might find themselves unable to progress much and therefore...die. But you can learn that IC.

JoanieSappho

Quick confirmation - the player is basically in an entirely new body, at least as far as how everything feels? A male character with a female character in WOW would experience only the sensations and feeling of the character's body, and none of the maleness of their out of WOW one, right?

Aiden

Correct, their real body won't matter unless they die in game. I don't want to give more away than that.

"Player" gender doesn't matter or have anything to do with the "Character" gender.
