An abused child(we don't need details)  We just know that at 17 she gains the ability to read minds and force people to do as commanded for 10 minutes every day.  The time grows as her strength grows.  Once she is free she gets a boyfriend who she tries to use it on him for her sexual pleasure but it turns out he gave some of his gift to her and is infinately more powerful.  Now that he knows her plan how does he control her.
