The big draw for me for a set of Mandalorian armor is mainly the upgrade slots.  I'll probably go with light armor.

Tonalberry

And considering how Mandalorian light armors are better than some regular medium armors, then throw in the jetpack, helmet system, and 10 hours of life support, I wouldn't mind paying 8 to 10k for a light set, and more if I decide to go with medium or heavy.  Also, should I go with all soldier lvls, dipping into soldier-based prestige classes, or throw in some levels of scoundrel?

ivygrowth

I'll look into it a bit more when I get home.  Up to you on the soldier/scoundrel thing.

For those interested, please PM me a character description and background and we can work towards getting the game started.

ivygrowth

I'd actually probably value the Neo-crusader Light Set at well over 16,000.  Stormtrooper Armour has similar stats for 8000, and if increased to medium armour would only have two slots for 16,000.  A suit with 4 slots, but still light, seems rather superior.  I could even see putting it into the 30,000s.  Hmmm.

Tonalberry

Well, in Scum and Villainy, there's Mandalorian Besk'gar.  It's 30,000 more credits than a suit of traditional Mandalorian armor.  A set of light besk'gar gives +5 to ref, +2 to fort, has a max dex of +3, weighs 10 kg., offers favorable bonuses to Persuasion checks to intimidate, though it doesn't say how much of a bonus, and lets you use your DR, if any, against lightsaber attacks.  The light suit costs 33,500 creds, though it also says gamemasters can reduce the cost for true Mandalorian characters.

ivygrowth

I'll put the price for Neo-crusader Light at 36,000.

Here is a teaser for Shanta Greensong, more to come.

Name:      Shanta Greensong
Race:      Zabrack
Gender:   Female
Class:      Scout 8
Height      5’9”
Weight      164
Build:       Hard bodied and leggy with round hips and a delicious D cup bust.
Skin:      Originally a typical zabrack ochre, Shanta celebrated her 16th birthday with an elaborate full body tattoo.  Too the typical light spectrum, she now appears as if her natural color is a lush forest green.  When low light vision comes into play, however, she is adorned with full body intertwining patterns that are simultaneously artistic, sensually shaped to the feminine strength of her form, and—in foliage at night—surprisingly good camouflage, the work of one of her backwater planet’s top artists.
Hair:      A wrist thick braid of raven black hair falling past her waist framed by a crown of dainty black horns.
Eyes:      Rich golden.
Age:      20 (Zabrack come of age at 14 rather than 16.)
Birthday:   11th day, 7th month of the galactic standard calendar.

I definitely want to get in on this. I know the system pretty well, and I'm a huge Star Wars nerd. How much naughty stuff is going to be in this game? The answer won't affect my desire to play, but it might affect my character ;)

ivygrowth

I don't actually have a specific amount of naughty stuff in mind.  It would really depend on how the characters act and how the rolls go.   ;)

For those interested, please PM me a character concept/background and, once that is approved, a character sheet.

Umbral Sanguinus

Submitted mine... hope to see this get off the ground!

Ivygrowth, is purchasing a starship a worthwhile use of our creds, or is that not going come into play?

Also, a question regarding continuity: Up to this 17ABY date, are you following established EU (outside of your Hutts, of course), such the New Republic beginning to rule the galaxy, or are we doing something different?

ivygrowth

A ship could be useful, though I will provide a junker for the group's use at the very least.  Anything better would have to be purchased or 'borrowed'.  How much it ends up being used, and in what fashion, would depend on the character's choices.

--

I am seeing the galaxy as being in flux, with the New Republic being a powerful but not dominant faction, and various groups of the former Empire still in existence as well as other groups.  I am not familiar with the various books, and while I do try to do research, the game's plot comes first.  I chose 17 ABY because it was before the Yuuzhan Vong War, as well as before the peace treaty between the Imperials and New Republic.  But also long after the movies.

lorcan

Hmm well looks like i  better throw my two sense in since i was also looking into getting a ship. I was just waiting on a thumbs up or thumbs down on the wealth talent. So dodge if you want to work together on that i would be willing to come to some type of agreement that makes us both content id be more then happy to.

Dodge

I wasn't the one who wanted a ship, but I'm definitely up for having past history with your character--I find that it makes the game more enjoyable.

That was me. :) I had planned on having a used little Gthroc 720, mainly because with my character I dont know what else to spend the starting credits on.

If there's still room in this I've got a twi'lek smuggler hottie turned Jedi-in-training complete with a ship and full homemade deckplans all ready to go. Well, need to adapt to Saga edition, but...

I'll PM you what I have, GM, and you can let me know if the basics work enough. If they do, then I'll look into adapting her over to Saga.

Also, for the record, I'm not fixated on playing a Jedi, so I could go full smuggler. I do feel that Star Wars needs that aspect, so someone should, even if it's not me! :)

If your character's not a loner, Anathanasia, I'd like to join your crew. Young human bounty-hunter/copilot.

ivygrowth

I have posted a Main Thread and OOC thread for the game.  Please do not post in the main thread until you have PMed me a character sheet and gotten it approved.

It looks like I'm tentatively on the hook to play a Jedi in the party, and a ship owner...not sure both roles should be filled by the same character, even if it's mine, but I'll handle it if it's okay with the rest of the group.

A big thing about the Jedi part, before I commit to that, are we all in agreement that we will, Star Wars gritty and grey in mind, going to be by and large essentially playing heroic characters (at least Han Solo style reluctant heroes)? I have to ask, because I don't want to find my character constantly arguing with the party to avoid summary executions of surrendered badguys and crap like that. That'd really take the fun out of being a Jedi for me, if the party is one of my worst enemies. I have no desire to play as a Sith, either, so if we want to play a nastier sort of group of people, I'll happily limit myself to being a simple ship owner and scoundrel. :)

Thoughts?
