So I was spending some time with my cousins a little earlier, watching them play the new Star Wars MMO when I realized "I want that!"  Unfortunately, I do not currently even own a computer, only a smart phone so of course that is completely out of the question.  Fortunately I spend a lot of time here, and surely there are quite a few like minded people wanting to break out a light saber or laser blaster.

I am obviously proposing starting up a Star Wars system game in a similar setting and having a go at it if there are others willing to play, and someone willing to  serve as the GM.  The only system I know of to go about this is the Star Wars Saga system as made apparent by the title of the thread, though I would be willing to look into some other games if there is someone who knows more about the subject.  I hope this concept can come to life and get going, because otherwise I will have to wait until I can afford a computer realistically to play with a light saber...  Here's hoping!

Muse

If you can get a Saga GM, please count me in.  Any faction, any era.

Apparently we have a fan.  Lol.  I've never actually played it, but my cousins spoke well of it so I thought I would give it a shot.

HairyHeretic

There is a sourcebook for the Knights of the Old Republic, which is set IIRC 300 years before the new MMO. Using that and the core rules you ought to have the majority of what you need.

I'd enjoy this one myself, but haven't the time for, well, just about anything right now, unfortunately.

Id be up for being a player any era is great with me! I already run a game in real life for saga but i will be willing to help advise a gm on rules and help with character creation.

Aybara

I'd be interested to play, I have only played a little of KOTOR and only had a quick gander at the source book for Saga so wouldn't be confident about that era to GM. It's one of the best eras to play in if you want lots of light saber fights!

Latooni Subota

I've got a great unaligned Force-user that'd fit nicely in KOTOR era stuff, and I'd love playing in the middle of that lovely post-Revan Sith Empire vs Galactic Republic war (like in TOR). I can't GM for reasons half of you know, but I'm so in on this. It'd be nice to use the character art I'm having commissioned in an actual GAME XD

If I'm needed to post somewhere, PLEASE PM me about it. Sometimes I lose track of threads and need to be reminded about things.

Mysterica

Ah!!!  Now I've gone and tortured myself...  They had the original trilogy at Wal-Mart on blue ray and...  I couldn't help myself...  Now I want to play with a light saber even more...

Muse

  *Groans*

Okay, okay, I can try.  :)

(The one I was running has a player out for a long time anyway.)

  So tell me everyone:
A.  What kind of adult content would you enjoy?  (And if you prefer the vanilla stuff, while some others want otherwise, could you handle it happening in a nearby thread?)
B.  SAGA edition makes first level a lot more playable than other d20 games.  What degree of experience would you enjoy?
C.  Does it have to be The Old Republic era?  I've never played any of those games and the setting book is all crunch, no fluff.
D.  Could you handle a plot line that calls for certain rolls, but that is relativity jedi light?  (That's just one of my ideas.)

:-[ I was not trying to guilt you into anything...  Don't go doing something you're not going to have fun with if you don't wish to.

Muse

*Laughs and hugs*

You're not guilting me into anything, Mysterica.  Sorry I came across that way!

I was mostly feeling grumbly because I recently lost a number of games.  While that freed me up for this, it sucks to have lost them.

Mysterica

No no.  It's not your fault, I know how frustrating that can be.  Besides, it may have just been the way I read it that made it seem as though you thought you were being coerced into doing the game.
Anyways, as for my answers to your questions...
A.  I personally am fine with any form of adult content or none at all short of like dismemberment and anything that belongs in the toilet and nothing is directed specifically at me that disagrees with my sexuality...  At least not too much or on purpose...
B.  I have never really played Saga edition before, so it is a whole new ball game for me if anyone would be willing to help me with the differences from 3.5/pathfinder I would be very appreciative.
C.  I am actually fine with any era, I simply suggested the Old Republic out of interest of the new MMO.  I'm honestly just now getting heavy into Star Wars and will just do some research on whatever era is decided on.
D.  I'm sorry, but could you rephrase this one...     :-[  It may just be because I am tired, but I don't quite understand the question to be perfectly honest...

Muse

*smiles*  Thank you.  I did come out of the blue with the groaning there.

For my last question, one of the ideas I have so far involves a setting a generation or so after the MMO--which allows for us to use Old Republic tech.

That story calls for certain rolls.  (Some of them familiar to the original series.)

A young woman who is a senator, and finds out that there's about to be a coup, and thus flees.

Her body guard--most likely a force user.

Other thing about this setting is that the Jedi Order is currently near pacifistic.

Oh!  ROLEs...  I'm sorry, when I read a word, I don't think the other spelling or form of the word is what might have been meant...  I try not to be a grammar Nazi, but I thought you were talking about like...  A bunch of random % rolls or something...  Pardon me for not thinking, it is a bad habit of mine.

I would be happy with just about anything, and honestly, based solely on the race I was considering, specifically being a jedi might not quite be necessary...  At the very least I will have force sensitivity as a bonus feat from my race.

Edit: so long as I make use the force one of my trained skills.

Muse

Hm?  What race is that? Closest I can think of to a race like that is the Miraluka.  (I'm quite fond of them.)

They get Force Traiing if they take Force Sensitive.

Mysterica

Ah...  I typed that wrong, but that is indeed the race I was planning on playing.  I think we may be looking in different books though.  I'm looking in the knight of the old republic campaign guide and it says if they are trained in 'use the force', they gain force training as a bonus feat...

Latooni Subota

A.  You already know my tastes, Muse, if you remember our chatting way back when. I'm good with anything really, except for the super-extreme things.

B.  Since it's Saga, I can be fine with level 1 characters to start, or something more crunchy.

C.  KOTOR era is fun for the awesomeness of the war and stuff . . . but for the same reason Clone Wars era is fun too! In fact, Clone Wars era is easier to use as a jumping-off point for our own tweaks to the universe/timeline since most people know a lot more about Clone Wars stuff, and it's easier to read up on it. Wouldn't it be interesting to do stuff around then (with a few extra sith thrown in for good measure) and change the course of galactic history? :3

D.  Shrug. I can go either way, really.

Muse

Ah, okay, makes sense.

:)

You need to have the force sensitive feat to use the skill USe the Force.

So your Miraluka might take her first level as Jedi--which has Force Sensitive as a base skill--and get force training as a racial bonus feat, and still be able to choose her favorite first level feat.

Alternativly, she might be a Noble--representing a miraluka with intensive education--use her first level feat for Force Sensitive--qualifying her to train in Use the Force skill.  Such a charecter might be a graduate of the Miraluka university that trains their force users.  She might choose to go to a jedi temple in later levels for formal membership in that tradition, or learn light saber martial arts and further force skills from another tradition's practitioner.  Either way, she'd could then take Jedi levels.

Mysterica

True, I think I may take that first lvl in jedi though.  It may be a little difficult to work with from the very start though if the jedi are particularly peaceful and not wanting to get terribly involved with the world unless they are needed to help bring balance to the force, especially for a lvl one character to be moving around without a jedi master.

On the other hand though, depending on your personal interpretations of things and your background story, there could be a jedi or two rather less worried about the council's opinions on things and could have trained my character in the ways of the force in their own way as a means for keeping key figure heads safe.  The idea of losing a feat just to take the class that would make me not to have needed to use the feat just kinda seems a waste.

Muse

It is 3,845 years before the battle of Yavin.

For two centuries the galaxy was ravaged by a series of terible wars.  The sith boiled out of the unkown regions again and again to plunge the galaxy into chaos, using the philisophical mercinary clan of Mandalorians as their pawns along with dozens of others.

60 years ago, the Jedi were ousted from Corusant and for two decades the galaxy languished in thrall to the Sith.

At the end of this period, when the fighting was the most intense, a young Ithorian--steeped in the Jedi ways--learned extrodinary secrets of the Light Side of the Force.  Deactivating his light saber in the middle of a duel with a bitter old sith, he glowed with the light of the force and extended his hand, offering him a benediction of peace.  The old Sith, bitter and twisted, could not deny the serenity the Jedi offered.  He took the Ithorian's hand and the two walked away from battle together.

Time and time again, this Ithorian walked onto the field of battle with the force iluminating him, offering peace to those lost to the Dark Side.  Often, a sith would accept.  More often, they would be driven from the battlefield by what the Ithorian offered them.

He did not end the war alone with his offer's of peace, but he did his part wtihout ever taking a life.

Known today as Master Andor, he sits on the Jedi High Council at Coruscant.  He guides the Jedi order ever away from a harsh hand all the while pushing for every child with the force in them to be found at as early an age as possible and brought to a jedi temple for training--or one of the few other societies he considers suficiently peaceful.

Though Master Andor is widely held in superstitious reverence, the truth is the Force only gave him what the galaxy was ready for.  Sick from the centuries of conflict with insuficient time to heal their wounds, tired beyond exhaustion of the constant fighting, the galaxy was ready for peace.

That was fourty years ago.

Two generations have come of age now, glamorizing the heroes of old, ambitions thwarted by parents and grandparents who honored only healing and craftmanship.  Criminals thrive in the shadows by keeping their heads low.  Czerka Arms, with little market for their weapons and less respect from the idealists in power, mothballed many of their machines built for the craft of weapons and droids to turn their boutniful resources to planetary restoration.

The already powerful corperation has had fourty years to become deeper and deeper enmeshed in the Galactic Republic.  Power corupts, ambitions run high in the young...

Peace cannot endure.

Please disregard this if I'm too late or you're all ready full.

I love all things Star Wars, and am moderately familiar with the time-period you're talking about, however, I don't have the Rule Book or source books you're speaking of and was wondering how difficult they were to get and how familiar I would need to be in order to not be a hindrance to the GM or fellow players.

I appreciate any answers, and if I am too late or don't meet the requirements wish you all the best in your game.  It sounds like it'll be a lot of fun.

Muse

*Smiles*  Well met.  You're in plenty of time.  :)

Unfortunately, near as I can tell there's not an open licence System Reference Document for Star Wars Saga Edition, but i'd be happy to help you build a character and understand what they can do.

Let me get the campaing specifics up.

Peace Cannot Endure

High Chancelor Victor Firmin is as loved as any polotician.  He pays lip service to ideals and causes, but is better known for his ability to get things done than for any grand crusade.

He takes no more money from Czerka corperation than anyone else, so why are Czerka's cronies always visiting his estate?

This is the story of a young woman, a senator--perhaps a princess--who stumbled across a comunication to Chancelor Firmin from the chairman of the Czerka Corperation, her body guard, and those she goes too for help when a ruthless bounty hunter tries to silence her.

The Brotherhood of Bleeding Suns is poised to begin their concquest.

MAke your move during the impending chaos.  We will support you in claiming emergency powers.

Make no use of your Sith connections.  You must not awaken the Jedi!

  *  *  *

This is a game for level 8 characters.  Hopefully the Princess and her Bodygaurd can be covered by player characters, though I can take one of the rolls as needed.  The other rolls--the people the princess goes too for help--are more flexible.

These attributes are to be arranged according to concept:
18, 18, 15, 15, 13, 9.
Note that you raise 2 attributes by 2 at level 4, and 2 more at level 8.
Furthermore players gain the benefits of one fulfilled destiny.  (And begin with 1 Destiny Point.)

A) I'm alright with various kinds of things being in the game just not necessarily my character being involved. Ageplay and vore would be hard for me to stomach and I'd just take my name out of the game if that sort of thing will be coming up but otherwise I'm happy with whatever.
B) Level Eight is fine with me.
C) I'll be happy to play in whatever era.
D) I was hoping to play a Jedi possibly heading towards the Force Disciple prestige class and I'd be fine being assigned as a bodyguard but I could make characters of other roles.
