Recruitment happens on a case-by-case basis - because we want to make sure that we can incorporate your character(s) into the story. Leaving people out isn't what we want to do.

We are always looking for serious and dedicated writers.

If you want to join and hit us with a really good concept and if we think that you (and your characer idea of course) would fit into the group, we will consider it. Just send us (MaverickKane & Nicholas) a PM or post in this thread and we can talk about it! ;D

We have a very good, mature and levelheaded group of writers and we seek to keep it just that way.

High Fashion is a highly competitive, merciless and relentless world. It offers so many different plot angles and possibilities. People with very different personalities and cultural backgrounds clash on a daily basis and it's not always nice and gentle, to move in this shark pool and not drown. Jealousy, resentments and the desire to stay on top make for a lot of conflict and interesting plots!

Basically, this is a group set in the Fashion World. We do not throw out full fledged plots on purpose. We rather want our writers to come up with their own stories and ideas! And, thus far - this worked out splendidly.

Current ratio

Gender/sex:
Cis-Male: 11
Cis-Female: 7
Transgender: FtM 1, MtF 1
Agender: 1

Orientation:
Homosexual: 5
Bisexual: 6
Pansexual: 3
Androsexual: 1
Unknown: 2
Heterosexual: 3
Asexual: 1

What we are looking for:

  • Lords, Ladies and Lieges are welcome. The gender/sex of our writers is irrelevant. Just, please - have decent O/O's. No O/O's = no joining the group.
  • Active, level-headed, friendly, drama-free and literate writers that like to plot and add own ideas to the ongoing story.
  • Character development, drama, plot twists, intrigue, jealousy, sensuality, loathing, etc. The fashion world is such an intense, relentless field, after all, and the possibilities are endless, really.
  • Ability and willingness to communicate. This will not work without communication and plotting. You must be able to come up with your own ideas. We are not spoon-feeding people. Sitting around and hoping for things to happen will not work here. Generally - there always will be one plot for everyone but we certainly encourage our writers to do their own thing as well.

What we are not looking for:

  • We try to avoid pre-formed, romantic relationships, creating a character for someone elses character (boring much?). Of course, in that line of work, people often know one another - but we really try to avoid this 'romance coupling up' before writing. It's boring, it's lame and it leaves no room for development and storytelling. When it gets to the point of someone making a character just to fit another writers character like a glove? Where exactly is the fun in that? Please, don't.
    Clarification
Making an intern to a fashion magazine editor? Cool!
A personal assitant to a designer/photographer/model? Also cool!
Making a 'top' to a 'sub'? Not cool! (needless to say - that kind of information isn't on the sheets, anyways.)
  • Each character getting along with everyone else. That's unrealistic and not very interesting to begin with. Conflict is the salt in the soup! Rivalry, loathing, jealousy and resentments are such great plot tools!
  • Plots that center around smut. We do not want to write a porn script here. [We are on over 800 posts by now and there was no smut yet, if that is any indication on how things run.] We want to write interesting stories, have the characters grow, develop relationships, etc. But we will not write one sex scene after the other. This is not an orgy and it won't ever be one. Sex will happen, very likely (it's human beings after all) but... you get the drift. There is a point where it turns into porn and very unrealistic.
  • Short posts (so far, all of our writers are multi para posters and we want to keep it that way.) We just do not like one-liners and posts without any substance.
  • Passive writing partners. Collaborative storytelling requires plotting and good communication.
  • Out-of-character drama
  • Writers that do not like cross-gender writing (It happens a lot in our group)

Locations:

New York City - Paris - Rome - Berlin - London - Milan - St. Tropez.

Plots can happen in many different places. Doesn't have to be just one city. The fashion world is fast moving and has a home in many cities all over the globe.

Setting: Modern contemporary (no magic, monsters, superpowers, aliens, etc.)

Characters: Human. 18+. All genders/sexualities/gender identities/ethnicities are welcome

Multiple characters are allowed (as long as you can keep up with them, of course.)

Why the NC Board? Because it leaves room for a lot of directions without restraining our writers. Nothing is a must, of course. We encourage story, not porn.

The only concept we are not accepting right now are male models, because we already have two of those. Everything else that fits into that industry is fair game, though!

Here is some more info on the story:

The Prelude

You dare to step into the kissy-kissy society? Well, then..

Welcome to the Fashion Industry!

The world where beauty, vanity, glamour, fame and money meets vicious attitudes, hectic, stress, jetlag and the constant, merciless pressure and high demand.

Where stars are made, designers fight for the upper hand each season with the latest, most fashionable creations, models fight their grounds with only one goal in mind: to be the number 1, one day, and stay there as long as possible, no matter what. Where vanity, jealousy, viciousness and rivalry meet stylish fashion parties, quick sex, beauty, champagne and delicious food. Where photographers battle for the best jobs, reporters stick their noses everywhere, the camera always ready for the next scandal, the next thing people want to read all over Social Media.

For the past eight years Seathan Rothach was the star, the hottest asset on the runways, billboards and magazine covers all over the world. Discovered by Roberto Antonelli, success was inevitable.

New York City, Milan, Rome, Paris, London and Berlin. Everyone wanted him, his pretty face on their covers, and him walking the catwalk at various Fashion Shows. Everyone knew him, everyone worshiped him, everyone wanted him.

But, what do they say? When one star falls - another rises.

Maybe six months ago, a new face was introduced into the world of glamour and fashion: Alejándro. Young, handsome, a delicious mix of heritages. And, most of all... unspent, unlike certain other faces.

Rumour ran wild, the moment young Alejándro appeared on the red carpets, at various fashion parties and events, and, on the billboards all over the place. And always he had been in company of Robert Antonelli - the big one in the industry. An Italian designer, influential, powerful and with enough resources to outrun most others in that line of work. That man basically was the industry, all things considered, with a fashion empire of his own, own labels, shops, collections, fragrances. Everything. He was the one that made stars. In the past and in the future. Everyone in the industry looked up to people like Antonelli.

But there was another, valuable player on the field: Diego Miguel de la Fuente, one of the most prominent, well known Model Agents and Managers, working for probably the best Modelling Agency around - "Chosen Management NYC". Only the best came from there, a true elite training ground for supermodels. It is said that when one was lucky enough to have him as agent - success was guaranteed.

By now, the media call Alejándro "Antonelli's new muse." and probably some other, more delicate and sinful things. 'Boytoy', among others, while they gossip away about Seathan's love-life, Roberto's eccentric lifestyle, Diego's affairs, Madame Koháry's latest designs (and her connections to various escort services), the newcomer designer Adrian Wright, the Grand Dame Mary-Anne Pope, and whatever else they get their greedy hands on.

But - are all those rumours true? Is the young, ambitious model really doing everything to get to the top? Even sleep with a man that could be his grandfather? Is it true that his relationship with his Agent Diego is more than a professional one? Is he really someone who would stop at nothing for fame and success?

But Alejándro wasn't the only one with rumours floating around him. As of late, gossip grew, about Diego and his wife. There was talk about divorce, about the woman being jealous, accusing her husband of having more than professional relationships with his models, male and female alike. Did Diego really have an affair with some female model in Rome, just some months ago? Is she the reason for the divorce, even? Speculations are running wild. But this was not all, by far! Superstar Madison in back, better than ever, Madame Koháry is rumoured to have an affair with Diego - the rumourmill just never stops. At nothing. And nobody.

Is Alejándro about to run Seathan out of the business in no time? Fact is: Seathan's throne is shaking - hard.

And now?

The game is on!

Hello! :-)

Photographer sounds excellent. We would need one because they are important in that business! ;D

If you wouldn't mind too terribly much - could you give us some ideas for the character? Maybe some basic concept of you have one already? We have such a wonderful, consistent and friendly group and we want to make sure the character fits in. If you don't have ideas, yet, that is perfectly alright. We are more than willing to help a new writer to get started and be incorporated into the group and the story!

Great and thanks a lot for replying  :-)

The basic concept I have in mind for him is that he was a college dropout who had this passion for photographing and ended up joining a famous fashion photographer somewhere around the age of nineteen. Now aged 35 he has made a good name for himself in the business being one of the prominent names in the industry. I am thinking of him as being bisexual and thinking about using the following picture as the face of the character.

Other than that I would love you guys to incorporate this character in the story so I could be a part of it  :-)

MaverickKane

Would you fill out a character sheet and send it to Nicholas and myself for review? After we have reviewed and made sure everything is okay then you can post it to the thread.

Find the template here

Oh yes that sounds great! ;D

After you made the sheet, we can plot away in the OOC ;D I already have an idea how he can be connected to my model, and I am certain the other writers will come up with ideas of their own. A famous photographer is well known, after all. ~nodnod~

Last time a spot opened up my head wasn't in character creating mode, maybe this time round lighting will strike.
If found acting like an idiot, apply Gibbs-slap to reboot system.

And besides - we are all here to help each other out. ~nodnod~

~lassoes the Wolfie~ We need ze Wolfie in this craziness.

Feel free to present your ideas. We make no promises at this point. Right now - we see what kind of ideas we get, how we can add it all into the existing group.

That's fine, I know that having an idea and that idea being good are two entirely separate things  ;D

Female model would be awesome.

As awesome as a PA. ~nodnod~

We would need both.

And, to make it easier for everyone interested - here is a list of what we are looking for.

Mind you, this list is nowhere near complete. If you have another idea, give it a try and surprise us! ;D

Wolfling72

Character concept~

Youngish (25) female model who walks both male and female runways, depending upon designer and season. Newer discovery, not a well known face as yet with a later start in the game. However, she has been building a reputation as easy to work with. Has been told the her body lines work  well for either female or male couture. (willing to discuss who discovers her OR to have her work BE discovered via a showing.)

Ultimately I would like to move her from fashion icon into the business side of things so am willing to adapt her toward a PA if needed.

Face claim? Jenny Shimizu (before Ruby Rose or AzMarie~ she was there...)

Lee

So, what do y'all think. Should I flesh her out via template or keep working?

No rush. :-)

I like the male/female thing quite a bit. ~nodnod~ It adds the diversity I love so very much and it will go well with Adrian Wrights designs. Very gender-unspecific and whatnot!
