"In a time of ancient gods, warlords and Kings.
A land in termoil called out for a hero.
She was Xena, a mighty princess forged in the heat of battle.
The Power, the passion,the danger.
Her courage will change the world!"

CALLING all those who are Xena fans!!!!

A warrior with a shameful past.
A simple village girl wishing to escape her ordinary life.
Romance
intrigue
Danger!
What more could you ask for?! I was originally thinking to modernize the idea but after some careful thinking I've decided to stick to the original time period.

Okay loved Xena, will definitely be thinking about a good character concept for this. Also would be more than happy to discuss ideas as possible co-GM. You will most assuredly need somebody to manage Ares as a NPC.

Gah! Prolly not but I'll try! Lol.

EDIT: Questions. Are you starting at the beginning of the story? Or further in when Xena has already started working for 'good'? Will there be someone coming up with story ideas, or will you maybe be puling from certain episodes?

Yes we will be starting right from the start.

We have yet to fine tune the story plot itself, but I believe it will be a mix of both original and existing story, There will be familiar characters and also oc ones.

Name: Davos

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Age - Apperance: 23
Age – Actual: 23
Gender: Male
Sexual Orientation: hetero
Nationality: Greek, nomadic group (gypsy)

Height: 5'11''
Eye Color: Amethyst
Hair Color: Very dark brown
Physical Description: With the lean sleek build of a young man used to physical activity Davos has a toned sculpted but not bulky body. He is handsome beyond normal standards, his beauty hinting at his heritage of having a deity as one of his parents. He keeps his dark hair cut in an odd style with the right side of his head nearly shaved while rest has some length to it. His amethyst eyes show an intelligence and wisdom well beyond his youthful appearance, another hint to his linage.

Character Strengths:
Languages and knowledge of different cultures.
Having been raised by nomads he learned different languages starting from an early age. He also learned about and was able to respect different life styles of the different communities he encountered. He seemed to just have a natural talent for languages and gathering and retaining knowledge.

Music and performing
The people that raised Davos were for the most part entertainers so he of course became a part of that. He plays several instruments, has an amazing baritone singing voice. He dances with a unnatural grace and is very acrobatic. With all that though he has an incredible stage presence.

Thieving
Another unavoidable aspect of the gypsy way life is stealing to survive. Often simple entertaining does not provide enough coin to support the entire band so stealing what is needed becomes an necessary evil. So also from a young age he was taught to pick pockets and how to be a successful burglar.

Hand to Hand combat
Making use of his dancing and acrobatic abilities he is a formidable opponent in unarmed combat.

Melee combat
He is familiar with most common weapons and just has a natural talent for using them, again making good use of his strength and agility.

Knowledge of Weakness
He just seems to know the best place to strike an enemy, whether it be a group or an individual.

Archery
Put a bow in his hand and he becomes almost god like with its use. Basically if he can see a target he can hit it with an arrow.

Half deity
Due to his parentage he is stronger than average, has greater dexterity and agility. He is also more durable than pure humans and heals 5 times the normal rate. Is somewhat resistant to magic. It has not been proven yet but it is thought that his aging is at a much slower rate.

Character Flaws:
Hates injustice
He has a very strong hatred for injustice in any form. He especially hates those that think they can do whatever they want to those perceived as weaker. To him might does not make right and he will violently oppose anybody with that attitude.

Bleeding Heart
It does not matter how many times he gets tricked by somebody appearing to be innocent and helpless for him to stop help those he sees as needing his help. This has often times landed him in trouble and will very likely continue to do so. He will go out of his way to save children or even kittens and puppies.

Over Confident
Knowing his mother is a goddess often times makes him feel immortal and he will act as such. Being mortal though this often lands him in trouble.

Loves a good party
He needs little reason to celebrate and will drink to excess while partying. At such times he is strongly tempted to perform for the other partiers, he will sing, dance, perform feats of acrobatics, play instruments, or even do trick shots with a bow.

Skills & Talents: Languages, cultures, combat, archery, music, performing, theft.

Weapons:
Bow
His bow was a gift from his mother, something she had crafted just for him. It appears to be an unusual staff like bladed weapon with the edges being inside the arch rather than the outside. To anybody other than him it is just that but weighs far more than it looks like it should.

In his hands the weight does not seem to bother him and he can and does wield it in melee as a deadly blade. However when he brings an arrow into play an invisible band of force forms the bow string which will propel his missile at a greater speed and with far more force than any other bow. This feature taps into him being a demigod and only works for him.

Other Equipment:
He carries the standard equipment of an experienced traveler and warrior. He does not have a mount as he can move just as fast as any horse and go places they cannot.

History:

Davos' earliest memories are of life in the gypsy troupe. None of the men or women made any claims to be his parents. He was simply being raised and taught by all the members of the traveling band. He would eat with the group and sleep in whatever wagon would have him on any given night. As he grew and became more self reliant he would spend many nights out under the stars. He only sought shelter when the weather demanded it. In his mid teens he started sharing the beds of many of the women and girls in the troupe. When he wanted or needed a roof he had no problem finding a female willing to share her bed with him. It became a fairly common occurrence for him to find a welcome spot in the bed of a girl or woman of the village or town they were visiting.

When he was old enough to see that he was different of all the other children he asked where he had come from and why he did not have a mother or father. He was told that a mysterious woman hidden beneath a cloak had simply shown up at their camp one night with him as a baby in her arms. She had asked them to take the child, name him, and make him one of their own, which they had done though no couple had adopted him. He did not find out until later in his teen years that the woman had revealed her true identity to only the group leader as Athena the goddess and she was his mother but could not raise him on Olympus because his father was a mortal.

It was not until he was 19 that Athena actually manifested to him. She revealed to him that she had quite purposely sought out a mortal male for the purpose of creating Davos. As a goddess she had foreseen a need for champions among the humans. So she had given birth to him in hopes that he might fill that need. She had chosen the gypsies to raise to give him the greatest diversity of education and life experiences. This had happened in a dream on what he found out was his 19th birthday.

A few months later when the troupe was camped between any major settlements they were set upon by a portion of an army of a warlord looking to expand his rule. Though the gypsies fought hard they were greatly out numbered and equipped. Most of the men were killed while the females and children were taken as slaves. Davos suffered a head injury in the battle and was left for dead. He likely would have died had it not been for his greater durability and faster healing. When he woke many hours later he was alone, with the exception of the bodies that surrounded him. Seeking shelter he staggered into a cave where he once again saw his mother but she said nothing just leaving him his weapon.

After he healed he learned to use the gift from his mother and sought out the army that had killed and enslaved his people. This set him on a path seeking vengeance and justice. What he has heard of Xena was that she was just another power hungry warlord though she did not deal with slavers. She was still just somebody he thought needed to be stopped.

[flloatleft][/float]
Name: Xena the Warrior Princess

Alignment:Evil
Age - Apperance: 28 years old
Age - Actual: 28 years old
Gender:Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Nationality:Greek from Amphiopolis

Height:6’3”
Eye Color:Elecric Blue
Hair Color:Black
Physical Description: The mere sight of the imposing woman that Xena happens to be, is enough to strike fear in the hearts of most of enemies. Xena is a tall woman standing at well above six feet in height and with a muscular, toned build due to her training in warfare and weapons. The raven haired warrior usually has her hair open, flying wildly in the air. Her eyes are bright cerulean. Typically she would be found wearing her armor which happens to be like second skin to her along with her accessories and having her sword, and chakram the hanging around her waist. On her journeys the outfits often change as per the situations depending on the culture she meets.

Character Strengths:

Swordsmanship

Having taught herself to fight since a young age, while Xena is generally able to handle most of the weapons in a competent manner, it's her skills as a master swordswoman that are unparalleled. She has defeated some of the finest wielding the weapon. A warrior who is not only skilled with the weapons which she employs but also in the psychology involved in the combat as well because she firmly believes that any war is more psychological than physical, especially after some seriously difficult situations which she was able overcome through her sheer will and mind games which were employed by her at key junctures.

Tactician & General

A born leader, through her highly charismatic ways, Xena is capable of motivating the troops in just the way to extract what she wants from them. Xena has an innate talent for spotting the weakness of enemy during combat, be it solo or much larger warfare that makes her a formidable general.

Pressure Point Technique

Xena has exceptional knowledge of human body and can cripple someone or even cause vital organs in their body to explode by applying pressure at just the right points.

Hand to Hand Combat

She started training herself at a young age along with her younger brother, but it only grew exponentially thanks to the God of War Ares. Her style is very brute force, however since she is at times "smaller" in both weight and height than some of her opponents she uses what agile skills she's fostered to behave more acrobatically in battle. It helps her take out more than 1 opponent at the same time which doesn't just use her combat knowledge but some intelligence as well.

Medicine

Xena's no accomplished doctor but her natural remedies can certainly rival those of most occupational healers. Thanks to her travels, she's had to learn from personal experience what types of remedies are available in moments of emergencies. They aren't complicated remedies, most of the time it may something such as how to properly heal a wound from infection, make the proper syrum for a bacterial problem, or even create a splint for temporary use.

Character Flaws:

Competitive Nature

Xena is a fiercely competitive person and though she might appear calm and cool on exterior, poke her in a manner and that competitive soul inside her pops up. She may have given up on her warlord ways but she's still a warrior at heart who would gladly accept a challenge, even if it derails her momentarily at times.

Authority

Xena has always had a problem with authority. Sometimes for good reason, but even when justice may be on her side, she finds that nothing can truly be settled if it isn't done with her own two hands. That can be very problematic for a civilization trying to progress. Instead of letting the justice system do its job, they have a running vigilante take out names (with pay) to answer for a populations ongoing cry for help. She isn't opposed to cooperating with them at times, but she isn't the type to make best friends with them, so if she's often in more trouble than not it might be due to an authoritative reason.

Overconfidence

There are times when Xena, in an excessively altruistic perspective has attempted to take everything on by her own and that can land her in trouble. She hates to admit that she needs help of anyone else and for her, that's a sign of weakness.

Human

For all of her exceptional strength and other abilities that Xena possesses, she can be killed just like any other ordinary human. Neither does she have any kind of regenerative abilities or anything to that effect. When wounded, she takes time to heal like everyone else and it is very much possible to kill her should one be able to land a fatal blow on her.

Susceptible to Magic

Xena is not immune to magic. It's a weakness that has affected her in her sojourns in past and a mage or anyone with sufficient magical abilities can very well prove to be a tough match for her.

Skills & Talents: Expert in Hand to Hand Combat, Most Weapons, Excellent swordswoman, Fire Breathing, Medicine, Pressure Point Technique/Pinch

Weapons:Sword
Other Equipment: Chakram is a weapon that is capable of ricocheting off things once thrown and lands back in the hand of the wielder. A mysterious and a highly difficult to master weapon that demands high dexterity to wield, Xena is the original wielder and one of the very few who were able to master it.

History:Born to Cyrene and Orestes in Amphipolis, Greece, Xena was second of the three children. A fighter since a young age, she began to train in the weapons since she was a young woman, even teaching her younger brother Lyceus the arts. Their life seemed pretty simple, filled with simple desires. That is, until the warlord Cortese decided to attack Amphipolis in a bid to expand his influence. That's when their carefully constructed little utopia fell apart as the villagers had to fight for their own survival. Xena formed a small army of their own in an attempt to protect their freedom and with great effort they drove off the invasion. But it wasn't the last attack..as Cortese returned. This time with more powerful forces and a great battle ensued, which effectively led to a massacre and especially the death of her brother Lyceus. Xena was blamed for the damage and it especially shocked her mother Cyrene who couldn't bear the loss of her youngest child. She was blamed by everyone, even the villagers whom she had sought to protect, effectively being forced by her mother to leave Amphipolis to live the life of a wandering warrior and raiding the villages which she crossed in her path with her band of warriors.

#26
Name: Joleth (Yo-leeth) Sumah (shoo-muh)

Alignment: Chaotic Good
Age - Appearance: 21
Age - Actual: Unknown
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Nationality: Nordling - (Quarter-Mortal)

Height:5'0"
Eye Color:Ocean Blue
Hair Color:Golden Blonde
Physical Description:Curvy with hefty bottom-heavy frame. Muscularly built.

Character Strengths:Joleth is a character in her own right, considering she is physically capable of handling tasks and matter of prowess that allow her to be an expert in combat. Aside from her endurance and charismatic charm of gutting an enemy when need be, Joleth possesses a silver-tongue as well. Versed in both native Icelandic dialect and Common, she is able to persuade many with her fluency in switching between her languages with a soothing attitude in order to confuse and betray those who do not know of her culture's words. As a Quarter-Mortal, Joleth is nearly flawlessly ageless, though her physical threshold may have its limits outside of her godlike durability and inhuman speed to accompany her form.
Character Flaws: Due to her nearly everlasting lifespan, there is an accord with the humor of the Gods' graces. Where Joleth is endowed with beauty, strength, and mastery of combat, she is left wanting. For her height, is below those of mortal standards. Almost embarrassingly so, considering everything else about her weaknesses comes to light. Her short temper, and inability to properly grasp the coils of mortals as her parents have always been able to. Surely, the faults do not end, as many times Joleth finds her higher form unable to connect with other mortals whom are not touched by Hercules, either spiritually, or physically, which leads the daunting short-comings to bring anger into the Nordling's heart. Due to her ageless form, she has become cold on top of the burning turmoil of her loose anger.
Skills & Talents: Joleth is a master of the Shield and Axe form of combat, as is much of her clanmates and viking brethren. Along with Spears, and common swords. Aside from the grit of combat, matronly duties have been instilled withing Joleth's mindset as well, that includes cooking, and taking care of wounded men and women. Though she isn't the most skilled shaman, she does have an understanding of medicinal practicies to help mortals with their many ailments and injuries that could occur.

Weapons: Joleth's weapons usually consist of a bare-hands approach, though her prowess and understanding of axes, swords, and spears allows her to utilize any at a given opportunity.
Other Equipment: Joleth carries around a Shield, bearing the mark of a Goddess, that had long been since forgotten to a Pantheon of possible Celtic/Norse Mythos in which she hails due to her mother's lost virtue. Her armor is built for the cold recesses of the Northern lands, but keeps her cool enough for the Southern heat as well.

History: Growing up was a journey in itself for Joleth, considering it took her a considerable amount of time to do so in the first place. She had been kept a secret for what seemed to be decades, before the official discovery of her existence was made as an offering to the higher power in charge of making sure the lands were prosperous. Dedication and hard work prevented the true wondering of what it was like to be Human, though through the help of many scribes and acolytes from various walks of life, the babe grew up to be a child. Joleth possessed power, dangerously so in her young age, and was rumored to have possibly been an offspring of unknown origin on top of simply being an anomaly to nature. Rumor that was was a baby born in the blood of battle, it was clear that no one was to treat her the same, which effectively ostracized her from a normal existence even then. It wasn't as if she begged for the burden of ascension, or perhaps it was the mark of whom allowed her birth to be conceptually obligatory, led Joleth to believe she was a bastard. Word spread that Hercules may have spread himself a bit wider than the fables had spoken of, as he was rumored to have delved into the lands of other Gods. If these did hold up to be true, the evidence of her form and slowly maturing body attested to the years of dedication that felled even the most senior of sitters that young the young Nordling under their wind.

Generations of folk had come and gone, before she knew it, and Joleth was left to her own devices after the supposed order of things had been decimated. It didn't take much longer before records of her life and the numbers of time that hadn't added up, for people to grow suspicious of her life, and cast her out for fear of magic gone awry that produced a spawn of evil, rather than a paragon of good. Forced to walk the earth, desperately attempting to meet others whom would help her, Joleth made it a mission to find out the truth about her upbringing, and why she had been forsaken from the godhood she was apparently destined to live out. Some sort of purpose, she could only assume, that needed to be fulfilled before she could ascend properly. Until that day came, however, finding her mother was enough for her. Decades rolled on by, and by the time Joleth was able to start the hunt, she had surpassed another generation of Humanity, as the trails went cold year after year,  until the once fresh events of history faded into mythic scroll and ancient lore. So much time had passed that even Joleth herself questioned her own perceived reality, as magic was nearly untouchable to her, though the fact she'd been doomed by a God she had never known, loomed as a possibility. To Joleth, this land, was her Hades...

(Going to be honest, I have nothing for the character's background due to the fact I barely remember Xena from early childhood. However, I am willing to work with you guys in figuring out what would work. I'm interested in this RP, so I thought to make an OC that would hopefully make a reasonable addition.

1) I guess to help with the blank history. Why Is Joleth in Greece? Give us a bit of knowledge of how and why she has left the lands of the north. Also some information about her parentage would he helpful as part of her history.

2) You put actual age as unknown, hinting at her being ageless. Can she be killed by normal means?

3) To go along with the previous one. How long does it take her to heal injuries or recover from an illness?

1) To be fairly honest, I was thinking that maybe her bloodline and having to deal with the horrid cadence and unfair treatment of being more than Human, would call for her to want something else. Not that she would have a choice aside from killing those whom carried enough prejudice in their hearts to go out of their way to attack her, and inevitably die in doing so. She'd have been sick of it all, and wanted to travel South. That makes sense, I hope, otherwise, I'll try harder to stretch out more events in-between?

2) I was hoping to make her technically ageless, as being Quarter-Mortal poses the risk that she will one day die. Either by natural causes, or by a severely wounding blow that would cross her threshold of godlike physiology.

3) I would suspect it wouldn't take her far too long from injuries. Say if it took a week for a Human to recover from a wound, she'd heal in only a couple of days? That sound good? If not, that can be remedied.

Okay, you don't need to know much about the series to give Joleth a believable history after all she's not from Greece. Just give something brief about her linage and how and why she came to be where the other characters are.

Put something in her strengths about her greater durability and faster healing. (i.e. Davos heals 5x faster than normal humans)

Her being ageless could be both a strength in that she would immune to magic that would cause rapid aging and a flaw as she has to deal with watching mortals grow old and die around her and possibly having to hide the fact that she does not age.

Would it be plausible for there to be other divine pantheons. Or are we just sticking with Greece’s Gods and Goddeses?
“If all we have is this imagined empty canvas of endless possibility...this potential heaven...then let it be our haven. A place of marriage between two souls desperate to feel something beyond the cruel tedium of real life. If we truly be the masters who dream these dreams then let our innermost desires fuel the adventures we create and the love that we make here, let it all unfold endlessly or for only a brief moment in time but for as long as it breathes let it devour and I will forgive your boldness if you will be so good as to forgive me mine...” ~ Chantarelle

I believe other divine pantheons would be quite plausible. Just give us a believable reason why it's in Greece.

I'll update the history shortly, and all of these points of what could be put in are agreeable with me. Immunity to aging magic and is severely depressed due to the fact she can never really become too attached to others because she know they'll all eventually "leave".

Fixed it up somewhat. If I need to change anything further, let me know.

I think it looks good. Final decision is, of course, up to Levi.

Oh dear, this one got me quite excited...question...

1. Would you ever take guest appearances?

Based on the image I'm guessing you're asking about occasionally bringing in Ares. I had mentioned that he should be NPCed from time when I offered to help Levi by being her co-GM as I do not think one of the gods should one of the regular PC's. I think for the occasional guest appearance though it would be alright for a player to handle him.

Also characters like Hercules and Iolaus.

Levi has mentioned to me that she received a PM from somebody wanting to play Hercules, so he may not be available. As far as I know no CS has been submitted yet. Iolaus is available for guest appearances or regular play. The only limit on PC's is on the immortal characters.

So far the only CS we have received for a canon is Xena which is being played by Le Immortelle. Both Levi and myself have OC's.

The role of Hercules is now available as the person who stated interest before has pulled out.
