The other blizzard topics are toxic as hell. Keep your blizzard hate out of this thread.

Who is playing? I know I am. I have some people's battle tags from here on E. I doubt there will ever be an E guild, but you don't really need it anymore with the ability to group with your friends and hop onto their servers.

Aiden

Yea, (same faction/region - Can't group with someone from the AUS/Latin america cluster, etc)

Cerigo and I grouped up the other day and did a old school raid run for his BWL shoulders and so I could get Astral Walker title on my shaman.

Kurzyk

Thorne

Yup, I play.
Heck, I was at BlizzCon last weekend. It was too hot, there was too much walking, and I had a really good time. ^.^

They've mashed a bunch of servers together, as well as allowed for cross-realm grouping, to help balance out the numbers on low-pop servers and do other things that make questing more interesting. Or more frustrating, if you were counting on no competition. ^^;

I'm "lucky", my sleep schedule is naturally from 4-5am to 1-2p lately. So staying up to experience launch-hour hilarity won't even be a problem for me.

InsertWittyNameHere

I've been playing as well, off and on. I really like most of what they've done with it so far.

Yeah, I'm extremely impressed so far. I've got some concerns about longevity, but overall nothing but positive experiences in the game itself.

The gameplay's been very choppy and bumpy, but that's expected for any new Xpac launch, and they've also been fending off a pretty severe DDoS attack on the servers, so I won't give Blizzard all the blame for being unprepared.

Aye. It's been a bit rough. But as you said, part of it is to be expected, and the other part of it really isn't Blizz's fault. I don't really worry about WoW's future much, Metzen said they have at least 6 mor xpacs planned and though the sub base has fallen a bit since it's height it's still far and above the most played MMORPG out there. They've done amazing things with squeezing better graphics out of a 10 year old engine.

SinXAzgard21

Sure would love to play, you know if I wasn't in que for 3 hours.
If you know me personally, you know how to contact me.

Thorne

They've got a bug, and reduced server population caps to stop tripping it, Sin.
Queue's about 4000 strong for me, and ... yah. My morning is good enough, methinks. ^^;

I'm inclined not to worry too much - I've got enough else to do.

Revelation

There are a few things that have confused me a little with the xpac, namely how quest rewards and followers randomly get better quality. Also levelling black smithing looks crazy with how much I need to farm... And how little nodes give. I'm lucky to get 2 ore and stones a node!

TheGlyphstone

I think those numbers assume you're using your garrison mine. That provides a significant quantity of ore each day.

Nachtmahr

Would play if it was possible. As it stand, all my characters are locked behind a 3 hour queue. :/ Got 5 hours of playtime in over three days.

I joined the queue at around 4PM. At 7PM I got disconnected, and moved to the back of the queue. Woo!

SinXAzgard21

Still haven't got more than 3 hours of play time... And that three hours was with at least 20 second delay because of server lag.  Cata and pandas was not this bad.

I played all the expansion releases except Mists, and none of them were this bad.

I did get to try out the new content today. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly Blizzard let you go through the boring introduction scenes, so that's good. I'm not sure how I feel about it overall, or if I'll keep playing ... but I sort of got conned into signing up for raiding and challenge mode later on by one of my friends, so I may have to.

SilverWing

I play also, not as much lately. I hear the queue's this expac are horrible though! Before my hiatus I did play the Beta and thoroughly enjoyed the storyline!

InsertWittyNameHere

Maybe it's just my server, but I haven't really had any queue issues. I hear others talking about it but havn't had it happen to me yet, go figure.

Raigi

Been in and out of it all weekend. I managed to get my mage to level 100. Positive experiences so far for the most part, launch day bumps excluded. I'm very near testing heroic dungeons. Hoping they'll provide a decent challenge. Cheers all! Gonna level my paladin next.

Atarn

Been playing it quite a bit, on Earthen Ring I love it. On Argent dawn I find it a messy piece of crap. 3 hours of que, disconnected. Repeat.

Moon Guard and Wyrmrest Accord have been pretty stable so far - I've got a guildie already at cap. Me .. I'm hovering three levels under. Tomorrow...

Niferbelle

I resubscribed to check out the new expansion. I only play very casually though and not all that often. On 93 and pretty close to 94. Argent Dawn was a bit dire at first but the past couple days has been fine. I'm totally obsessed with my little fort though and never want to leave >.> But I need more followers!

InsertWittyNameHere

The garrisons are quite nice. I find myself really enjoying it. I think blizz will wish they hadn't made it so self sufficient though. I can see them complaining in a few months that not enough ppl are in the cities and the world doesnt feel populated enough.

Thorne

As long as there are RPers in the cities, I doubt that'll be a problem.

RP in a garrison is a bit ... well, complicated. Doable. But complicated. ^^;

Rel Mayer

I'm probably very likely going to pick up this game when I get back to the states. How are the queue times and I have honestly looked into the new expansion very very little. Did they completely rework all the classes again?

TheGlyphstone

Not really. All the classes are different, but primarily because they did a massive ability prune - consolidating 2 abilities with similar usages/timers into one, removing a bunch of extremely situational spells no one really used and/or making spells spec-restricted. There was just a lot of button bloat, so coming back you will definitely be wondering where a bunch of abilities you used to have went.

Queue times vary by server, but for mine I haven't had any queue at all in a few days.

Hemingway

A week in, Argent Dawn EU still has horrible queues. 3 - 4000 people during peak hours. Garrisons still crash repeatedly throughout the day.

It's good fun when it works, though.

TheGlyphstone

Oh geez, you're on an EU server. I can only imagine they're still in havoc; your launch just flat-out fragged the servers even worse than the US one.

Aiden

I don't have high ques, but I am not on a high pop servers. Everything seems to be running smoothly now.

Madriv

Wyrmrest Accord was locked for a couple days there. It's loosened up now. Not crazy about the garrison idea yet, but I like the localized "bonus quest" areas where you just walk in, get your quest to kill X of Y and go to town.

I'm having a *serious* problem with those ogres who kill wolves. I could spend all my time in that settlement slaughtering ogres, especially if they'd let you free the chained wolves even after the initial quest. Seriously. All day.

Revelation

Earthen ring has had no major issues or queues. It's a medium server though so take that as you will.

One thing I will say about WoD is I hate crafting. Rather I hate being unable to craft. Having to wait for a daily cooldown to craft true steel ingots and having work orders for ingots be slow as hell means I have to wait to slowly get 100/150 ingots for an item. The ore market has also crashed on my server, with the new ores being sold for 1g or so a piece. Anything I want to craft will take days of work just to make one thing.

Thorne

I'm not overly thrilled with it either - we keep going back and forth from one extreme to the next, here.
On the flip side, if you set a suitable follower, that seems to increase the yield, so ... ugh, no. I don't like it. :/

Might be better on a gatherer. I'll have to see.

TheGlyphstone

Weird. The market for pretty much all the new mats on Whisperwind right now is spiking through the roof - base ores and and herbs going for 10-12g each, more for enchanting mats.

Revelation

True iron ore is about 2 and a half gold on my server, black iron ore is 1g for a few pages then 2g.

The Dark Raven

Woot!  Despite dying (constantly), I just finished Ulduar for the first time ever.  ...And as an alchemist, I love Freya.

That was one of my favorite raids when it was released! The bosses were SOOO much fun to do hardmode wise. Everything was so different and there was always something fun to do. Very few tank and spanks! :D!! Best WoW memories right there. I did a lot of progression raiding in WoW during Wrath and Yogg hardmode was such a struggle, but I remember we were pumped when we finally got him 25 man! (Plus it was a guaranteed drop of mimerons head!)

* Rel Mayer is nostalgic

I have to admit - I play just for the raiding, so as long as it's fairly decent this new expansion - they'll suck me back in. :) I'm kinda getting excited to play!

TheGlyphstone

Ulduar is still my favorite raid too, though it admittedly goes neck-and-neck with Karazhan; Ulduar had better fights, but Karazhan was both my first raid instance and an incredibly thematic environment.

Niferbelle

I'm level 100 finally. Debating rather to level up one of my other characters -- I think I have four more at 90. There's still a bit I want to do on my main although I don't get into raiding or anything like that. I don't have the patience for it. But there are lots of followers out there to get still at 100 and other stuff to mess with. We'll see how long it holds my interest.

It was pretty bad, all right.

Anyway. I'm 99 now. I would've been 100, but I'm lazy and I'd much rather sit around my garrison doing garrison missions. Managed to make my first epic plate, which I sold for a tidy sum.

Aiden

What did you sell it for? I made one a few days ago, but i ended up wearing it to make ilvl cap for heroics and MC (want that corehound mount)

Rel Mayer

Muahaaha! WoW is now mine! I must level to 100!

PM me if you want my battletag!
