Where do cats go when they are let outside? What do cats do? They are mysterious in their manners and ways. They have been worshipped for years—well-before the creation of language. They appear in myths and legends, and superstitions are created about them. And as much as we think we know about cats, their lives are still a secret—a secret they have all kept from humans for thousands of years.

There is a parallel realm obscured by magic and tricks. A realm where cats serve a royal family whose bloodline is believed to be as old as all feline kind. These cats have protected the Earth for as long as they have been alive, guarding the nine ancient relics, which have the power to ward off invasion from other realms. The nine relics are called Cat Eyes and they are positioned at special points around the world where the planet’s magic pools are strongest. The Nine are magical keepers of the Cat Eyes. They are believed to be blessed by the goddess Bastet with unique gifts that aid them in protecting the temples from meddlers.

Hidden from humankind. The realm of Catmandu resides just beneath the human’s noses, and its secrets must not ever be revealed. Humans see cats as cats, but they too can appear as humans, saving their masters without them knowing, sitting in a coffee shop and discussing matters of the kingdom, while other humans are more concerned about their workloads and school. When a cat leaves a house, the cat is running through a network of confusing routes to arrive at a drainpipe that is actually a portal to a milk bar or gathering.

Humans won’t ever know the true life of cats, and they plan to keep it that way for as long as they can. However, this story is specifically about the most mysterious cats of all, The Nine.



The Nine are composed of nine cats blessed by the goddess Bastet and charged with the duty of protecting the nine Cat Eyes. The Nine are not related, however they know of each other’s existence, location, and possibly reputation. They are not the sole guardians at their temples, and so therefore, they are permitted to leave and travel the world on work, especially when summoned by the royal family. The Nine are all different cat breeds capable of taking on human forms just like other cats, but unlike most cats, they have special powers. While cats who have studied under witches as familiars are capable of wielding their own brand of powers, unlike Familiars, The Nine’s powers are innate and go along with some theme whether it be legendary or superstitious. Their powers are greater than Familiars; however, a Familiar’s power nearly rivals theirs, making Familiars always a potential threat.

The Nine are all capable of these standard abilities:

• Master Escape Artists
• Masters of Illusion
• Uncanny Balance
• Shapeshifting (mainly to human form unless your ability deems more)
• Animal Communication

• Telepathy (mental communication between each other)
• Nine Lives (A scar that resembles a tally will appear on any cat who has lost a life. All cats have this ability, and those with eight tally scars often become a quirky mess, fearing their end whether it be accident or destined.)

The above list of abilities are already given to your character if they are a part of Nine. You do not have to mention them again in your character sheet. Below, you will find the CS. Be sure to read it for it is basically the guide telling you how to fill it out. You can design the CS however you like. [b]Power:[/b] This power should be a power that comes from cat legend, myth, or superstition. You can only have one power not multiple powers in one, so try to make it broad enough so that you give yourself more versatility.

Character relations can also go in this section. All members of Nine know each other. They are not siblings obviously and are very capable of developing feelings for the other. Catmandu is a parallel universe that secretly exists in modern human society. It is like the world of witches and wizards in Harry Potter. Humans only see cats as cats unless the cats are in human, and are ignorant to the roles the cats take to protect the Earth from being invaded by foreign and often supernatural entities. For the parallel universe, you can expect to find a lot of cat puns, satire of cat behavior, and just generally, a cat theme. Cats exist among other animals and other animals are aware of Catmandu’s existence; however, just like foreigners entering a country, they go through customs. There are many secret portals cats can take to appear in the fictional world of Catmandu.

This fictional realm is meant to be a zone where writers can help create it as they envision it. It is filled with magic and mysteries, and writers can be as imaginative as they like with it. You can find more details about the royal family in the IC as well as about the different locations of the Cat Eyes. For now, this recruitment is to see who all would be interested in story-weaving this idea.

This game will be a hybrid between GM-guided and sandbox. The GM will drop important plots, such as a very important one which will bring The Nine together to investigate an incident, but overall, this story will be as fun and enjoyable as you make it. The more interesting you make your character, and the more willing you are to interact with others, then the more we can do. So please bring dedication and an imagination. You are just as capable of building and adding to this world as I am.



1. No Mary Sues/Gary Stus. I feel that I made it so that every character is on an equal ground. No Nine member is more powerful than the other unless the other writers decide such.
2. No drama. This rule will always be here because people do not obey or even read this. Do not bring drama to this game. No aggressive or passive aggressive drama. I will not let you into this game if you demonstrate to me that you cannot behave like a mature adult.
3. No is No. GM says no. Move on. I try to be fair but if I literally tell you No, then it’s no.
4. No weak, partial, and trim character sheets. If it looks like you barely put any effort into your CS, you will be denied. Do not send me a weak CS.
5. Interact. You are joining a group game. By joining a group game that means you want to interact with others. Do it! Do not join this game if you don’t plan to write with others. Do not be a creeper either. If I get a report that you are creeping on writers, then you will be dropped. Again, this is not a smut game. You should be here to write a story not to do a sex scene and leave.
6. Activity. This game is going to be as fast as we make it. However, if the game slows down to the point everyone is posting once every 3-5 days, do not deem this game as dead. This game will only die if the GM says it is dead. If it dies and the GM didn't say it's dead, then the players killed this game. Do not kill this game. As a GM, there is only so much I can do. I can guide this game until conclusion, but I cannot force you to keep active and interested. You have to do this on your own. Interacting with other players and developing stories with them helps. Communicate with me if you plan to go AWOL. If you're coming down with a sickness and think you're going to be gone, let me know before it gets worse. If you plan to go on vacation for a time frame, let me know so we can accommodate your absence.

Personality: Felix is a sly and mysterious cat. He doesn’t reveal much about himself for not many cats are interested in black cats. He is often stereotyped to be a Familiar, and they wouldn’t be wrong. Once upon a time, a Familiar was what he was until the goddess—for some reason—chose him. He wasn’t the easiest to accept as one of The Nine by the royal family, and even after being blessed, he wasn’t trusted with the keep of his temple. Felix still isn’t permitted to watch his own Cat Eye without facing the king’s elite guardsmen. He is certain he could dispatch them, but he chooses not to out of laziness and perhaps even foolishness. If the king thinks he can guard his temple better than he can, then so be it.

The black cat moves like a shadow and will often times sneak up on other kitties. He finds it amusing and sometimes it is unintentional. He likes to tease and play on the edge of danger. The saying ‘Curiosity killed the cat,’ should be a motto he should live by, but Curiosity hasn’t killed him yet.

Felix has an impressive talent when it comes to cards. He can stack them, shuffle them, expertly throw them, and he will even play games with them—which he will use his good and bad luck powers to cheat. Sometimes he wins an impressive pot, and other times, he loses everything but the fur on his back. Compared to the other Nine, Felix seems more like a bum. But who’s at least having fun? He is often considered irresponsible for not making an effort to reclaim his temple from the king. Whatever. He's just a Witch Cat any way.

Special Arch: Deck of Cards - Felix wields a deck of solid-black cards. They appear to have nothing written or drawn on them, and are flexible like a thin metal. The edges are sharp. When held between his fingers, Felix can cut with them like knives. He can throw a card at an enemy, and the card will be as sharp as a shuriken. He can embed his cards into a wall, and scale them like stairs. His cards are capable of levitation, and it is uncertain if it is the power of the Arch that allows them to do so or Felix’s witch cat magic. Felix will never say. His cards will line up in the shape of a barrier to deflect projectiles or act as a platform for him to surf through the air on. The reason why he is so good at shuffling cards is well…magic.

Power: Good Luck/Bad Luck - it's a 50/50 gamble anytime Felix resorts to using his powers. It isn't a safe game to play, but he doesn't really have much of a choice. This was the power the goddess cursed and blessed him with. He can use his luck power to bestow someone with good luck or bad luck; however, he doesn't control what kind of luck they receive. Therefore, he tends to only use this power sparingly.

Felix was born in a litter of black kittens. All but one of his siblings turned out to be stark-white, and while she was accepted by their mother, she was not accepted by their master. His parents’ master was secretly a witch named Joan Hawthorne. She had bred his father and mother together because their magic power was the most compatible. Felix’s father, Draven, never really saw his mother, Angela, as a lover. She had only been there to fulfill his desires as well as that of his master Joan. Felix would later learn that his litter was not her first, but Angela’s third. The kittens were all taken by witches, young and old, once they were old enough to eat solid food. His white sister Ophelia was never taken. Draven and Joan always gazed upon her with disapproval and disgust, and Felix was too young to understand why. Ophelia was different, but she still exuded great magic. Felix didn’t have a chance to see what happened to her before he was taken by his own master.

Felix’s master wasn’t much of a witch. He was more a magician than a witch and performed various illusion magic before gullible humans. It actually amazed Felix how easily fooled humans were, but it wasn’t just humans, cats were as well. Felix, in his free time, would take to the alleys, shocking and amazing cats with his disappearing acts. He often made fish at the fish market disappear, and he and his friends would flee from the enraged fish salesmen. Good times.

As Felix continued to perform and learn from his master, he developed new methods for stealing. He became popular among the strays in the alley. He was their hero, and as long as he kept duping the humans, then he kept them alive and plump. The strays started to serve him. They called him, “The Witch Cat.” He could have whatever female he wanted and the strays brought him whatever he needed. He amazed his followers even more by ridding The Alley of an invading gang of dogs. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

One night, Felix was hanging around the wrong kitty. She was the mate of a cat who she claimed was greater than him. Felix, blinded by his fame, didn’t believe there was any cat so great. Another witch cat, by the name Rasmus, her mate, angrily confronted Felix. The two cats fought in The Alley. Even with Felix’s cunning tricks and illusions, he had been no match for Rasmus whose master had been a true witch. He was beaten and left to wallow in his defeat in The Alley. His followers left him and began following Rasmus. And just when he thought his luck couldn’t get any lower, the dogs who he had chased from The Alley returned with a vengeance. Felix laid unmoving by a trashcan barely alive. His master never came for him for he couldn’t cross into Catmandu. The strays who he thought were his friends never returned. Felix was certain that he had found his resting place, but when he next opened his eyes, he didn’t find himself in an alley. He was lying on a towel in a box in a mysterious human’s home.

Afraid at first, Felix remained hiding in his box until the young woman who had rescued him made her appearance. She tried not to scare him and attempted to give him a saucer of tuna. Felix did what any frightened cat did and fled through the house with his rescuer chasing him. It was strange! His body didn’t ache and he had felt just as energetic as ever. It was when he fled into the bathroom that he noticed the mirror and hopped onto the sink to gaze upon himself. Etched into his fur was an odd symbol, and at first, Felix feared that he had gained a tally. Had he died!? His master, who he eventually learned was named Pamela Dearborn, captured him and held him in her arms until he was calm. She fed him tuna from her hand and gave him a scratch to die for—something no one else had ever done. Felix has since decided to live with Pam, and uses her home as a permanent residence.

Again, another eerie night, while Felix slept next to Pam, three mysterious cats appeared at the end of the bed. They were Sphynx cats, and while Pam slept obliviously, they took on human form and appeared in monkish robes before the bed. They called Felix by name and asked him to come with them. Felix reluctantly left Pam’s side and went with the cats. He crossed with them into Catmandu and traveled with them to a mysterious temple. Felix learned that the temple had been one that had not found a keeper yet, and the Sphinx cats were priests and priestesses of the goddess Bastet. In the temple was a strange relic called a Cat Eye, and when Felix drew close to it, the relic spontaneously reacted. There was a great flash like a bomb, and Felix found himself in the center of a maelstrom of power. The relic spoke to him on a resonating voice. It felt as though a third eye had opened at the center of his skull for he saw a white panther who he thought at first was Ophelia. The panther told him of his duties and left him no room to object before the power was sucked back into the eye. Felix fell to his knees and dropping on the floor in front of him was a black deck of cards. It was in that moment that Felix was told he was the chosen keeper. WHAT!?

The best part was when the king had found out about it. The Persian king Bahadur (who was literally a Persian cat) was displeased to learn that a black cat had been chosen as a keeper. Despite the begging of the servants of Bastet, the king sent his own elite guards to guard the temple, and it has since been under guard ever since.

Personality:.
Amber is a fiery redhead with a spitfire attitude. Known to be straightforward and confident, she is serious when she needs to be and laid back when relaxing, mostly in sunny areas. She lives in a cat cafe, which helps with her on and off again missions without being missed too much. Always a flirt and begged for attention, whether it be in her human or cat form. She is very aware of her talents and good looks and is not afraid to show off either or use them as she pleases. She is always super positive about herself never letting others drag her down. She can be a flirty, affectionate, sly, 'feet first into hell, think about it later' attitude, sexy kitten.

Amber is very sociable and extroverted, even in unfamiliar situations Unafaird to meet new people and make friends. She is arguably the most flippant, carefree and adventurous person, frequently making sarcastic comments and jokes even in the heat of battle and often taking combat and hostile situations lightly Amber love of fighting is the main reason she decided to become a  part of the NINE.

However, Amber's "brawler" fighting style is evocative of her personality. She prides in her self control, but has a bit of a temper when provoked or pushed to the limit. Her anger, one of her main assets in battle, can lead her to act unpredictably but does all she can to protect those around her. She is emotional about things she cares about and not afraid to express herself or her thoughts out loud.

She has a very independent and competitive spirit. She lives a wild lifestyle and doesn't really plan ahead much and flies by the seat of her pants most of the time. Very mischievous is known for trouble. She knows how to live in the spotlight but sometimes she just wants her privacy with her friends.

Special Arch: -Cat Claws- Amber has a pair of worn leather fingerless gloves that with a twist of her wrist release short yet sharp blades. She mainly uses them for combat but sometimes to scale high buildings or to break through barricades. The metal is strong and almost unbreakable to any physical attack and has not tested its durability on any magical attacks so far unless you count her fire manipulation. The blades can endure high tempers of heat and do not melt for her fire magic but become infused and make her a deadly opponent to face.

Power: Playing with Fire::  Amber can shape and manipulate fire and even create her own fire with her mind The rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat and light, her flame being the visible portion of the fire. She is also able to utilize fire with physical combat, granting her an impressive selection of offensive abilities while leaving them somewhat weak on the defensive side. She is immune to being burned by any fire her body always warmer than any normal feline/human and if reduced to freezing temperatures could weaken and kill her.

Extra: Amber lives in New York City, a city that never sleeps and is always keeping her on her toes. She loves that she can go out and have fun every night and naps during the day. She is one of many strays that frequent and local cat cafe and has been adopted by the young owners. Even though she does not recognize them as her owners she has a soft spot for her humans.

Personality: Calm and quiet despite her appearance, Sora prefers to watch things from a distance. People watching in both her human and cat form seems to be her biggest hobbies which some can mistake as being lazy or too laid back. Either way she doesn't mind what people think about her since beings will always make an assumption one way or the other.

Sora is a tom-boy and with Byakko being considered a masculine name, she embraces both sides since that is the duality of the soul and spirit in her opinion which will bring balance to the person as a whole. While some may consider her a "pretty male", she isn't afraid to use this to her advantage to become a white knight for some girls that are tormented.

Power: Like her alias, Sora has the power of wind on her side. Using her Aero-Telekinesis she can use it for combat or flight. Using her fans as a conduit, she can create a breeze or a strong gust of wind. Anything more will require more power and the possibility of losing control so it is avoided.

Extra:

Sora doesn't drive, but instead ride a bike, wears her roller blades, or uses her skateboard. She is fairly sporty and athletic, enjoys the outdoors no matter the season, but gets pretty bad allergies during the summer.

She also has had to have been close enough to touch the person or animal before she can copy them. Trying to change into something she has not had contact with can result in a messed up transformation.

I added a From: section to the CS. It'll be for where your cat's permanent residence is. Your cat can have two different residences if you want. A human world one and a Catmandu world one. It would explain why cats disappear for a while sometimes. They're off saving the world.  ::)

I also went ahead and added Pet Name:. I was thinking this would be like a hilarious secret unless your cat doesn't mind sharing what their master calls them, "if" they have a master. If they don't have a master, then this can be ignored. I'm going to be building the IC to help better shape the world. Understand, it's a living project. We can shape it together.

Honerable mentions, though, to soccer and avoiding responsibility in general. He never was keen on the whole "chosen one" deal and would much rather just spend his days chillin' or exploring the plethura of ruins around his home. He may hit on women of whatever species he currently is. Is he just joking around when he does this? That's up to whoever he's hitting on.

By all appearances, it's a rather plain, reddish-brown ball, it could easily pass as a dodgeball or something you might play 4square with. A closer inspection reveals it to be close to clay in composition, though Nagual can change its physical properties at will, making it much lighter than air, indestructible, hot as lava, etc. He can, if he chooses, change only part of the ball, but he cannot change the shape, size, or appearance (outside of mundane means such as painting over it). He does not have to be holding the ball to change its properties. He plays with it a lot, especially in his human form, bouncing it around for hours without letting it touch the ground or using his hands or feet. ((inspired by the mesoamerican ball game that doesn't really have a name, and named after Xbalanque, a mayan jaguar god))

Nagual is supposed to be a sort of bridge between worlds (typically the spirit world), but he's found that he can do a lot of tricks by only crossing part way, as well as by cutting himself off from the various planes entirely. In the most basic of terms, he can choose what things he feels like interacting with, and what he would rather just be completely unaffected by, phasing through solid matter or being completely unnaffected by spiritual energy. Staying cut off from a plane for too long can have negative effects, though, as he has to re-attune himself afterwards even in mild cases (in the meantime he would be numb to whatever he was cut off from, even after rejoining. In particular it's hard to move your muscles right after spending time away from the physical world) and splitting or rejoining a world is not a spur-of-the-moment thing.
Extra: His temple is one of the pyramids in the mayan ruins of Tikal. Painfully obvious yet nearly impossible to assault due to being constantly surrounded by guards and tourists and such. Not to mention that the Eye rests in the spirit world, rather than the material one. He feels pretty safe in leaving it alone. After all, it's only been stolen like, four times with him as the guardian, and even then the theives didn't do THAT much damage.

Special Arch: Kusari-gama – This particular weapon appears to be made of silver yarn. But that yarn is nearly indestructible and light as a feather. The blade on one end is curved and grooved like a cat’s claw so that when it bites, it rends flesh making the wound harder to close. The blade also secrets a toxin that can change to suit the needs he might have. Allowing it to change from a toxic poison to a truth serum in a single thought. The weighted end can change on a whim from Houser. Ranging from a simple weighted ball to a grappling hook if he needed it.
Power: Aside from his powers as one of the nine, Houser has a shapeshifter ability that allows him to change form fluidly. Allowing him to even change the appearance of his gender, hair color, build, etc. This has allowed him to work as the perfect spy.
Extra: Houser’s family is in Witness Protection from the Chinese Triads. The mother witnessed not only a murder but a conversation that when reported to the police cost the Triads millions of dollars as it allowed the DEA to shut down one of their major pipelines for drugs. The fact that she was able to get video footage certainly helped her case. But now there is a bounty on her and her family. The government moves her and her family around periodically.

Houser has been forced on more than one occasion to take the defense of his family into his own hands on more than one occasion. The first time, he was forced to defend his owner by leaping at the attacker in his cat form. Thus he was named after the White Lion of Asian legend. Since then, he has gone out of his way to ensure that the local ‘strays’ report anything funny to him about people following his humans. He has also gone out of his way to learn several human martial arts and has sought mastery of the Kung Fu Tiger style, allowing him to integrate his shapeshifting powers into martial arts by actually growing claws to use while fighting.

After his responsibilities as one of the Nine, his primary focus is the care and safety of his human family. He just hopes that he won’t have to be forced into choosing between his responsibility as one of the Nine and his family. Which is another reason why he tries to promote a solid relationship with the local ‘stray’ community. Often setting out bowls of cream and tuna when his human family is away as treats and rewards.

He also might not like them, but he has a working relationship with the family dogs. The two American Pitbulls and the German Shepard have saved his cat form at least twice and their territorial barking has alerted him to danger on more than one occasion.

I'm going to be getting us started today. I know. You're all probably thinking "finally." This past week was horribly busy and stressful and sapped a lot of energy from me. So before another work week starts up, I want to get this up and moving.  ;D

For anyone looking at this game, what is written in the thread title is what we need. We need cats from those countries as well as dedicated writers who don't have a short attention span. This game moves just as leisurely as its recruitment. This is also a story game. So if you're interested, then please try to submit a finished CS for the regions requested above. You can look at other CSes to get an idea on how to fill it out but do not take abilities, weapons, and breeds already claimed by other writers.

Here is my offering. I wasn't sure about just how 'old' they could be. If need be I can change her history.

Fur Color: Silvery White with Black Spots and Lines
Height: 5'2”
Weight: 120lbs
Hair Color: Long and black with silver streaks that shine when the light hits it. When she uses incredible amounts of power her hair turns moon white.
Eye Color: A very light brown like brown sugar.
Eye Color: Aquamarine
Mark: A silver hibiscus graces Yuna's left collarbone.
Gender: Female

From: Daleunsa Temple near the Gangnam district of Seoul. It is a beautiful Temple with its dark curved shingled roof and green pillars. The red and gold paint  makes a beautiful contrast to the the white courtyard and lovely flowers and trees. A strong ward keeps away the tourists and the ghost stories. The most avid and fearless of heart usually find themselves running away in fear and then forgetting just what they were afraid of.

Personality: Yuna's personality is most volatile. One moment she is all grace and elegance and the next she can be psychotic, mostly a little of both. It's possible her moods are tied tot he moon's phases. It's not a good idea to tell her she is crazy to her face.

Special Arch: Yuna wields two Hwang-ha swords with pearl white handles. The blades are two and a half feet long each with a rainbow sheen along its liquid edges. The golden hilt has three rings that chime when she moves it...or not. The pearled handle is wrapped in white braid and a white silk scarf flies from the ends of each sword. When unsheathed, the blades have a luminescent glow. They are sheathed in a black lacquered sheath with pearl tigers fighting dragons. Her Arch can be focused to unleash a slice of cutting moonlight she has stored.

Power: Moon Thief. Yuna has the ability to capture the power in the light of moonbeams. She often “bathes” in moonlight and stores the precious chi in her body. With it, she can dispel it as powerful energy, heal, or create small weapons or objects. She can also hide in or transport short distances between shafts of moonlight.

Extra: Once upon a time there was a cat pair given by the emissary of China to the Empress of the Silla empire. Beautiful leopard cats bred to be domestic. The pair of cats soon had a litter and one had silver coloring born in moonlight. It could no be decided if this was auspicious or a doom omen. The young cat grew and realized she was different from her siblings save a brother. Becoming human was quite a shock. She used this ability to cause no end of mischief. Mischief that caught up with her when she fell in love with a human Hwarang warrior. The dramatic heartbreak ended in the loss of her first life. Palace turmoil had her sadly leave her Mistress and she became a Geummu, or sword dancer. During this time she learned all she could, her education very in depth as she learned from her Mistress, a Kiseang or courtesan. Unfortunately, there were many wars and she once more had to flee, her beloved Mistress dead by a terrible man. Yuna's story became one of revenge.

For a time, she ended up in China. Her new master was a kindhearted monk with skills in martial arts. Once more she trained herself as she watched him. Of all her Masters, she loved him most. His sincerity and kindness soul deep but his life came to an end by a large group of bandits. He was overwhelmed by the sheer numbers. Another broken heart and a vendetta that ended in her second death, a victorious death.

Yuna realized that life was a cycle of heartache and love but it was becoming too much. Many more lifetimes had passed and in each a sad goodbye to a Master. Yuna finally gave up having Master's and became a feral cat after returning to her homeland. The world was modernizing and she could do only as her namesake, to “endure”. Madness began to settle in her, her only connection to catmanity was saving stray and feral cats.

An old man appeared with a long beard, his body so frail it was as if you could see through him. He beckoned her to come. She followed, unsure why. She was stunned to learn he was a cat like her. He taught her to capture moonlight and harness it. In small ways he brought her back from her self imposed darkness but once you have seen madness it is hard not to descend once more. His words always ring like truth with her. “What is love without pain. What is fear without hope. That we can feel these over and over while humans sadly can only have one lifetimes worth. Is that not worthy to guide them so that swift passage of there lives is most fulfilled? Do we not owe it to ourselves to live our many lives as if it were the last, even if it is the last?”

Yuna nodded tearily, her Cat Master taking his last breath as he passed the Cat's Eye to her. He had trained her for this. She would protect it with her life but she feared a broken heart and has not taken a Master in a long while. She walks the streets of Seoul, saving the strays from being killed or eaten. She is filled with longing and loneliness but edged with bitter anger. She endures, always endures.

Below is my character draft for the position of EU guardian. My character is from Europe, but not from the EU. I hope that is ok.

Mark: A small white icicle shaped scar adorns her inner right rear leg.
Gender: Female
From: St. Petersburg, Russia.
Personality: Katrina is generally quiet, thoughtful and reserved with others. She is uncomfortable with large, noisy crowds and prefers to observe from a distance, usually from a sunny warm spot. In small groups or one-on-one Katrina tends to be much more open and relaxed. Behind the quiet however, is a backbone of steel. She is rock solid during crisis situations, absolutely committed to her duty as one of the nine guardians, and if she gives her word, she is honor bound to keep it. She is also very sarcastic, especially when she gets annoyed.

Power: Cryogenesis: Katrina has the ability to create, manipulate, and project ice and cold. She is immune to the effects of cold temperatures, but can be very sluggish and slow in warm locations.
Extra: Katrina has a very noticeable Russian accent when she speaks, and often peppers her speech with Russian words.
She comes from a long line of Russian felines charged by the Goddess with guarding the Cat Eye hidden away in what today is the Hermitage Museum. Katrina has lived in the museum since kittenhood. The museum staff named her after Czarina Cathrine the Great because of the aristocratic way the Russian Blue seems to carry herself about the many galleries. Katrina is a proud Russophile, but is actually quite humble about her origins. This does not prevent her from receiving considerable hostility from the “aristocats” jealous of her heritage and upbringing. They often call Katrina “the little Czarina,” a petty slight Katrina does her best to ignore.
During what little free time she has outside her duties, Katrina loves to ice skate, and read quietly, usually with a glass of tea at her elbow.

The Hermitage has been home to cats since it was first built 250 years ago. They were imported as mousers for the Winter Palace. Today there are cats still living there, and they are a source of much pride to the museum. They get full run of the place like royalty, and even have their own "cat day." Also, St. Petersburg honors cats because a number were rushed to the city once German siege of the city during World War II was lifted. The cats helped to kill disease carrying rats, probably saving the city from an epidemic. Prior to that all the city's cats had been eaten or died because there was no food available.

I'm building on that history/legend with Katrina. For example, she is a Romanov because part of her family used to be Imperial court cats owned by the Czar. Katrina's family has been in the Winter Palace since the beginning acting as guardians, but she is humble about it because the 20th century was not very kind. Her family's lives were severely impacted by the 1917 Russian Revolution, and the Communists. Also, the Guardian of the Eye at the time was the only family member to survive the German siege of the city by hiding the entire time in the shrine. BTW, Katrina doesn't really like Germans because of what the siege did to her family.

I actually have some more background for Katrina. I just haven't finished it yet.

Hey! Yes; South America is still available. I need to update our roster, but it was never claimed. The cats are domesticated breeds. I have seen some hybrid breeds that have been domesticated but no pure breeds you can only find in the wild.

Hey good luck in your other games. If you ever needed help, you could have PMed the GM or re-read the OP. This is a cat themed game. I'm sure if you hadn't missed that important detail from the start, then you would have known the theme to create your CS off of.

We have a lot of openings and we're going to be continuing the story. If any new players are interested, then they can just send me a CS. We need the USA, Africa, South and Central America.
