Sleeping Dogs : Official Gameplay Highlight - Driving [HD]

Sleeping Dogs Combat Gameplay Trailer [HD]

Awww yeah, True Crime: Hong Kong! It lives! Thank you Square Enix for throwing money at things and then not demanding it be desuuuuud

Yeah, I saw that in Game Informer and I said, "That looks a lot like True Crime: Streets of Hong Kong." Read some of it, "Hey, it is True Crime: Streets of Hong Kong!"

I actually like the new title too. It's a shame that Square Enix's best work is done by the western developers and rights they've procured to keep them afloat.

EDIT: I suppose it's the detriment of good games. When a game is so good any flaw is worse than it would be in a mediocre game. Witcher 2's Enhanced Edition has an additional quest in the third act. Well, it's either shoddily implemented or an oversight, because when you finally get to the guy you're supposed to be fighting he summons gargoyles that have already hit you twice for a lot of damage, in cutscene before you can do anything.

Poor form.
If you're searching the lines for a point, well you've probably missed it; there was never anything there in the first place.

So, my brother talked me into getting Sniper Elite V2, and ... I think someone may have mentioned it here, in some terms that were none too positive. I gotta say, if you take it for what it is, it's pretty good. Considering Rebellion's track record in recent year, it's almost amazingly good. I've only played it for about ten minutes because I wanted to try it out, but ... it reminds me of Mafia 2 in a lot of ways. Good ways. Mafia 2 with really awesome bullet cam and fewer Italians.

I beat the Witcher 2, and it can be summed up in two words, "Oh Shit!"

Is that "Oh Shit!" as in, "Wow, I didn't expect that to happen!"

or

"Oh....Shit!" as in, "Wow, I didn't expect this to be terrible."

The former, but also the end-game implications for the Witcher-verse. (I'm going to have to get my hands on the novels. They're in English now.)

You know what no one is playing right now? Diablo 3. >:3

I hear that they're plagued by too many people on their servers. They knew it was coming, they could have set up a long in queue. They could have put more into servers, but they didn't.

Waiting in a queue to play by myself... Sounds great.

Why would you play by yourself when you can play with me? ;D

Yes, because waiting in line to play a single player game is so progressive. So they have set up a queue? They hadn't and people were forced to log in again, and again, and again.

Looks like Inside Gaming is having as much fun spectating the Diablo 3 crowd as I am.

Well Im done with Kingdoms of Amalur. Im not going to call it a bad game but its confusing enough that I felt like I needed to take a break from it

So I looked through my collection and decided to pull out fallout new vegas again. My courier is a laser weapons specialist and wandering trader. If only I had a pack Brahmin to carry all of the loot I collect

Sorry to hear that, but you've still got time. People are still having trouble logging on.

I have some beef with professional critics of Diablo 3. I've lost all faith in them a long time ago, and ... here are some examples of why.

QuoteThe story might not be the best ever, the music not as bombastic as we could want

QuoteMost of these features are improvements, though some pose strict barriers on gameplay and technical issues unfortunately keep it off the pedestal of perfection.

Those are quotes from two reviews of Diablo 3. Just based on those quotes, want to take a guess at the scores those publications gave the game? 90, in both cases. I don't know, but based on those quotes, it doesn't sound like 90 material.

Here's another one.

QuoteFor single players, it's an entertaining and gorgeous-looking dungeon hack but it's a bit short, extremely linear and hardly pushing any boundaries.

In that case, it got a score of 80. Short, linear, not pushing any boundaries ( which I assume is code for "unoriginal" ). How's that worth 80 points?

It seems like reviewers these days act as apologists for developers, not actual critics. Ugh.

LunarSage

Well they've obviously been paid off by Blizzard.  *nods*

Take that as sarcastic or unsarcastic as you want.   ;)

The content-score ratio is my main beef with any review that uses them. Be it professional or user reviewed. The pros usually know what to look for when reviewing a game, and the users have the average score of the people, but both have there drawbacks.

Well, not wanting to wait for the PC version, I got Max Payne 3 on Xbox, and I'm starting to see just how much I've grown accustomed to a mouse. Not a keyboard, fuck no xD but I'm feeling the loss of accuracy.

Max Payne 3 is... not doing so hot. It's nothing I didn't expect though. From the beginning, just looking at Rockstars current work, I was ready to put up with some control issues, but this is a bit more then I was prepared to forgive. It's seriously dragging the whole experience down for me. Max is slow, gets caught on scenery a lot, and it's generally hard to move indoors. His sprint is not much faster then his run, which is not much faster then the average jog, and his getting up animation is just torturous. Do NOT bullet dive unless your certain the guys directly in front of you are the only ones around, because for the next 6 seconds you'll be pulling yourself up like a fat guy crawling out of a beanbag x.x

And this is a modern Rockstar game, so the cover system is here in all it's familiar non-functionality. It's actually a step backwards for them. At least GTA4 let you dive into cover, and transition from spot to spot. Here, aside from doorways, transitions don't really come up, and with how AGONIZINGLY SLOW Max can be, getting into the wrong side of cover (another Rockstar staple) means another few seconds of getting back up and moving, all while under fire.

It's a good thing the shooting itself is great. If your ever in a long hallway with a rifle, the games a fucking dream, but the more space that opens up, the more the games problems stand out.

Arkham City. I forgot how awesome it was.
