I hate to be the one to say it, but... sometimes those kinds of commercials will work better >.> remember those frightening Aids commercials? They made you take care more then some facts sheet type commercial.

The worst part about that is that as part of my job (liability consulting) I walk through a lot of kitchens, so the one with the lady completely freaked me out when I saw it.

There have been a few over here, two anti drink and a particularly brilliant road safety one springs to mind.
These sort of comercials are made to shock and made to be remembered the two here are brilliant examples....

If your referring to the two parter, the one with the middle aged couple, yes, that was very well shot.

The first had the couple leave a night club and driving home, they narrowly avoid an oncoming truck and are pulled over by the police. The woman is in tears and shaken up badly.

The second was the same commercial, but this time, the truck plows right into the car, and when it stops rolling, the man falls limply next to his girlfriend inside of the crunched up car, and sees her face bloodied up and her eyes obviously dead, and he just screams.

They were terrifying.

This one got me in particular, the quality isn't because of YouTube, it was shown like this on the TV.

There are a lot of them around under the title 'Think UK'

There's an ad here that you often see on the sides of busses (not a video, clearly). It's of a giant mobile phone wrapped around a phone line pole. Bits of it are all over the floor, the screen is cracked... it looks a lot like a car. Doesn't say anything, and doesn't need to. The picture tells us all we need to know.

There is enough pretend violence in programs, why not give people a healthy dose of 'reality'?

I was a little confused at first. "Unfortunately, my family are about to receive a call saying I'm dead" I was like "Huh?" then he got blown away and I thought "Ohhh..."

Wow... these commercials are really shocking. But they get the message across, which I think is the most important thing.
