The Agency

It's a world straight out of mind control porn.  All of it.  Teenage boys get clocked on the head, hit by lightning, or into car wrecks, and wake up with the power to control others' thoughts.  Lonely geeks and unscrupulous scientists regularly perfect pheromone sprays that turn women into willing sex slaves, and mysterious Controllers enthrall the unwary to be pawns in their games.  And yet, if you looked around, you'd be hard pressed to tell it from our own.  How can this be?

The answer, of course, is that someone is keeping the lid on.

And that's the Agency.  A shadowy international organization that finds controllers, tracks them down, keeps them under control...and pursue the rogues who try to abuse their gifts.  Funded by everyone, acknowledged by no one, operating anywhere and everywhere that the most basic right of all- the right to think what you want- is under threat.  Half its field agents are the bad boys and girls of Planet Earth- FBI, CIA, Delta Force, Interpol, MI6, Russian FSB, you name it.  The best of the best, handpicked from around the world, fighting a secret war that's been going on in some form since the turn of the 20th Century.

The other half are the lost boys and girls.  Rescued mind control subjects who couldn't or wouldn't turn their backs on the secret world that unexpectedly ensnared them.  Some couldn't remember who they were or where they were from, or knew too well there was nothing to go back to.  Some were so consumed by anger and bitterness at having their lives taken away that they joined their rescuers for a shot at revenge.  And some just couldn't walk away, into a new life or their old one, knowing that somewhere people were being walled away inside their own heads.
