Looking to see if there is any interest out there for a craving I have been having and needing scratched.   Looking for one or more players for a setting in the old Wing Commander setting or the X-Com: Enemy Unknown setting.   For Wing Commander I am open to have the setting in anytime during the Krathi War or during the Wing Commander Prophecy setting with the TCS Miday.    I was not looking to use any system for either type of game, merely looking for players that would find either setting of interest to be a part of.   Let me know if either of these idea tickle your fancy.

Grrr. I should have my hands taped to my sides and a gag surgically implanted. I really should NOT take on anything else.

But I was in an intentionally smut-heavy X-Com game that melted away after only a week or two. So I will register ***tentative*** interest, and ask how you saw it playing out. Combat-heavy? More character-driven? X-Com Soldiers In Alien Peril? All three?

*goes to headdesk some sanity back into self*
Instead of obsessing on the person you want to be, focus on who you DON'T want to be. It's much easier to not do certain things than to break your head on some ideal of yourself.

When the dust settles, you may find out you've become who you were supposed to be all along.

I want to explore the dynamic of a combat team that is not in a traditional role that is forced to take on crazy odds and accomplish the mission in order to save humanity.   So the range would go from combat to down time to everthing inbetween.  How does the team deal with sucess, how do they handle the mounting pressure as they head out on their 12th mission that month alone, how do they deal with loss when they loos one of their team memebers to the aliens, and how do they deal with change as the war drags on.   I am not opposed to smut far from it, but I want the team and their experiences to drive the plot, if that makes sense?

Nowherewoman

It absolutely does, and, given the subject matter, is probably a better way to go.

Upgrading interest to *tentative* :D

I could be interested in this. How do you feel about Meld and the gene modded / mech troopers? And the psi troops for that matter?

I am willing to explore the idea as it develops naturally in the game.   I think it would be a hug role play element for someone to sacrifice their body to becoming a MECH trooper, or to undergo gene enhancement and not to be seen as wholly human anymore by the rest of the team.

Tentative interest in an X-Com game, pending more details!
O/O: I was going to make a barebones F-list as a rough summary, but then it logged me out and I lost my progress, so I made a VERY barebones F-list instead: Here.

BlackStone

Not sure what more details I can give.   I am wanting this role play to focus on the group dynamic and the choices they are forced to make as they fight the alien incursion.   As they become more successful, the pressures and stress mount.    There also might be a plot thread involving EXALT, and also some plot threads on what the team does in their down time.   I kind of want to meld the Stargate SG-1 team dynamic yet use the setting of X-COM, if that makes sense.

Since I seem to have enough interest, I have created the following threads and hope to hear from people soon

X-COM: Price of Glory OOC thread

X-COM: Price of Glory Character Concept and List thread

Lustful Bride

Heres my Character sheet so far, let me know if it is acceptable. :)

Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Player ID: Lustful Bride.

Character Basics
Name: Megan Chulski.
Gender: Female
Nationality: United States of America.
Specialty:  Support
Rank: Operative lvl. 2

Character Appearance
Height: 5'7''
Weight: 130lbs
Hair Color: Blonde (the photo makes her hair look much darker)
Eye Color: Blue.
Build: scrappy, she never wanted to be a frontline fighter
Distinguishing marks: Tattoo on her thigh that reads "Mark." something that she always regrets.

Personality: Megan is a career minded woman who loved her job at Fort Bragg. She enjoys the idea of being just another cog in the machine and that if she messes up it wont set the entire machine on fire just because of her screw up. After being recruited into X-com she longs for the old days when she didn't know that the Earth was being invaded by aliens and  that now the future of Humanity depended on her. At times she feels like she wants to run away in terror and hide in a dark corner somewhere, but still, if she had truly been a coward at heart, she wouldn't have joined X-Com when the man in the suit have her the option.

History: Megan chulski was an certified Army Desk Jockey. She spent most of her carreer behind a desk at Fort Bragg. Until the day the pods began to fall down. Several of them landed near the fort and spread their strange gas webbing, ensnaring many people before the Sectoids came down. Megan had been hiding in a bathroom with one of the Fort's MPs when he tried to stop the Sectoids from kidnapping one of the people wrapped up in the green webbing. Needless to say, the MP underestimated how deadly the little gray alien could be and was cut down by its plasma weapon. Megan screamed in terror as she saw the gaping, burning whole in the man's chest and scrambeled for his sidearm, afraid that the Sectoid would shoot her next.

Megan burst out of cover and killed the Sectoid with the third shot from the handgun, before proceeding to empty the rest of the magazine into it. When the soldiers took back the base (With the help of one of the first X-Com teams) they would find her trembling over the body of the dead Sectoid. Eventually the entire event was naturally covered up and said to be nothing more than a failed Terrorist attack and Megan was locked up to keep from spreading the information. they didn't want her to go and spreading rumors of an alien invasion along with some of the other survivors who were believed to be unworthy, until a man in a dark suit came in and offered her a deal. She could go back to her home, forget about everything that happened while likely being under survailance for the rest of her life, or as one of the few people outside of X-Com to actually kill an alien, she could join up with a new team  being set up. Despite how terrible her last encounter with the aliens had been, Megan found herself saying yes and agreeing to joining X-com.

I'm very interested! I'll be putting together a Heavy soldier if there is room.   :D

I'm interested, look for my character sheet soon. :)

We have had some people drop the game, attrition from summer break, school starting up again so I am accepting players that are interested, either with new characters or people willing to take over existing characters so we are not having too much a dramatic break in continuity.

Character threads are Here, Character Concept Thread

Players I would not mind replacements for as they were interesting characters.   All characters have less then ten posts so should not bee too difficult to take over.  The upside to taking over an existing character is getting you in the game right off bat with no delays.  If interested in a new character or taking over an existing character, drop me a PM.

Existing Characters needing players
Megan Chulski, Support and Communications Specialist

Danuka Skala, Heavy Weapons and former EXALT recruit

Jared Hardy, Heavy Weapons, Demo Expert, Australian SAS

Grizzly

Interested.  I'm a fan of both Wing Commander and X-Com.  I'll poke through the threads and do a bit of reading.

Concept and game is closed, I do thank those for expressing interest and giving it a chance.
