I would be interested, but not many Gorean communities in rp succeed.  Due to several different factions and not many knowing how to play it right...gods the amount of times I run into two guards "protecting" a slave due to someone being firm seemed foreign to them. Bunch of princesses, here are the tiaras or hell the free woman wandering into baths because she "went" the wrong way but obviously asking to be collared..my character saw no point as a Bosk has more use than that one better to toss her into the Vosk River.  Then there is the sea of red silks, and not many know how to play those right or even understand what a red silk slave is, Sorry rant.

I would write either a merchant, blacksmith, or a tavern master.

Vlexia

I'm not playing matchmaker or anything, but almost everyone is paired up lol

WhatLiesAbove  (Enslaved free Woman) = Tormented Male  (Slaver)
MagicalPen  (Jarl)= Mellific  (bondmaid)
Humble Scribe and myself
Praxis (Northern Male) and  GnothiSeauton is still thinking about her role

I am NOT assigning people, just showing that we are actually pretty perfectly balanced out. Let me get an OOC thread up soon and post it to you guys

If you cannot honor a No, then you certainly could never honor a Yes.

Vlexia

WithIntent, you are actually very correct. In my OOC thread I'm going to delve deeper in the roles that make sense. That if a woman is constantly rebellious, she can, and will, be killed. If she doesn't do something right, she is to be punished. She is both nothing and everything, something to be used and treasured. She isn't a princess, but a beast.

If you cannot honor a No, then you certainly could never honor a Yes.

Vlexia, I used to play Gor for years, till it plummetted into something that was no longer considered Gor, but new Gor...or  whatever they are calling it now may as well just be dubbed "Disney" to make things easier.  I know far too much for someone that quit ages ago, guess a part of me still loves the world.

Well, like I've said, this is heavily Gor based because not everyone knows the ins and outs of Gor. The words used, customs, standards, clothing, food, drinks, everything is similar AND different to Earth.  So this will not be a strictly BTB in that one thing stated wrong will piss everyone off. That's why my original idea is based on the world, but there are some things that aren't 100% correct.

You yourself can be strict with your character, but if he should have a slave, training her to write in Gor will be quite similar to actually training a woman to accept the collar.

If you cannot honor a No, then you certainly could never honor a Yes.

It's true that one of the big issues with Gor is that some people take it way too seriously. Trekkies have nothing on some Goreans.

That is understandable it is just actions far too outlandish to be ignored, like the one I suggested.

Oh I am fine with all of that, I am all for the passion and heart of Gor than something 100 percent word for word by the book.

That's kinda why I want to create a balance. The reason we love Gor is because of the life and standards and the world, at the same time we want to extend the joy to others and we do thay through patience.

But WithIntent has a point. If one wishes to be a Free Woman, than let her be free, if you want to be a slave than be one. But don't be a Free Woman who links her lips seductively, begging to be collared, but acts surprised when a male actually pulls one out. Choose a role and play it correctly. Gor is a dangerous world, unlike modern day Earth. Shocking things will happen

If you cannot honor a No, then you certainly could never honor a Yes.

Mellific

Here is another good resource, for anyone who is interested.

Can a Free woman have a profession? I was considering an Artist since Art is not signed or marked it would not be prideful leaning to be gifted at it and could be done in a non-public way. And the male relative she's living under the roof of could benefit them with beautiful art to display, gift or trade and some she could sell for an income of her own. And of course will only leave the home properly dressed and with dignity of her freedom, and not at night without a proper escort of a relative whose a man or a trusted man of the household it would be unseemly to do so and not as safe from molestation to be outside in the streets after dark without a very good reason.

With Intent

Yes, just there is a few jobs where obviously they cannot do such as a slaver and a tavern master.

Vlexia

I was....literally....LITERALLY just about to post the OOC thread when E decided to refresh itself on me and I lost everything.

@#$*&!@#%!!!!!

I'll start again in a bit when I'm not so pissed, should be up tonight lol

Am still interested in playing a kajira.  Maybe a bond-maid, taken from the south in a raid?  Or perhaps the daughter of someone that angered Tarsus.  Or a newer slave to the scribe?

Want to see how things fall out before I make my character.
"Are you into whips and chains too?"
"No, chainsaws."  (just kidding)

What exactly are you waiting for?

Well I apologise for opening my big mouth and jinxing things now. It appears we have an excess of masters, and don't I look foolish?

If there is still room to join, I would be interested. What do you need more, another master or a Kajira newly captured from Earth.

There is so much room, and it would awesome if you joined.

Right now it would be your choice. You could either look over the OOC thread and see which master you would like to play a slave to and send that person a PM

OR...

it would be super cool if you wanted to make another Master or Jarl and add another piece to our mystery murder puzzle. With this character you could also have a minor character as your slave.

So whichever role speaks to you louder, let me know

If you cannot honor a No, then you certainly could never honor a Yes.

I am not good at playing masterful people- but would enjoy playing a (She thought) strong, self motivated 'modern woman' from earth finding herself a kajira. Is that still a possibility?

Rune

I confess that I am torn. I typically enjoy the forced submissive type. However recently I have been playing more dominant roles. I am definitely entertaining one of each, a male master and a captive Kajira.

I will review the OOC thread and look for some possibilities.

I will admit I would like a fellow female to play a woman with me.

If you cannot honor a No, then you certainly could never honor a Yes.

There would be a place for a character like that in Tarsus' home. PM me if you want to discuss options.

Rumata

Is there still room? I'd be interested in trying it out to see if I can have some fun with this :p.

Though, I am torn on what to pick. I can write for either side of the "law". So I'd rather play what is needed actually, either a Northerner merchant with a tavern and some farms on the side or a Kajira/Bondmaid.

Those are just simple examples, if anyone has a better proposal I am eager to hear it out :D.
