This is an interest check for a game that would be based after the adventures of Geralt of Rivia, based on a previous project I start elsewhere some time ago but didn't work out due to creative differences.

Eitherway, as explained above Kaer Morhen has been re-opened by reformed Lodge of Sorceresses and they have pieced back together the process for making Witchers. This would start out as a 'Slice of life' sandbox game based out of Kaer Morhen. Players would take on the role of Witchers and/or Sorceresses and play out their adventures and lives, people can also take on short-term characters in the form of Monsters for others to take a contract against. If we get a healthy, active group we can bring in dedicated events & plots.

Before I go any further with the set up would anybody be interested?

Primarch

Here I was thinking this one was a flop. Alright, lets see if anyone else shows some interest.
In the meantime any questions, comments or suggestions are welcome.

Neithriel

I -think- I might be interested. I've only played a bit of the games though.
My absence is something I am dealing with, and I hope to be back on track Feb 6. There are things that have happened that isn't...exactly what I had planned and I'm working on getting it situated.

Primarch

Well its set a hundred years later, so you won't need to know details of the setting. Just the general concepts.

Jxnbury

I am possibly interested in this. I love this series.

Vlexia

If you cannot honor a No, then you certainly could never honor a Yes.

LeSane

The only question I would be what are the limitations?
'Life is an unreasonable game in which winning was impossible from the start. Even so spread your wings and fly straight into the sun! If the world threatens to swallow you whole crush it under your heel.'

Primarch

LeSane

Things such as weapons, armor, abilities, and so on. I don't wanna make a character who will step on your toes if that makes any sense.
'Life is an unreasonable game in which winning was impossible from the start. Even so spread your wings and fly straight into the sun! If the world threatens to swallow you whole crush it under your heel.'

Primarch

Its going to be a freeform game and I'm pretty happy to say the Sorceresses found all manner of fancy kit in the armoury when they were re-opening the place. So if you want to take some favourite weapon from the game go right ahead (in fact, I think I'll call dibs on Aerondight myself but I'll mark it down as 'to be acquired in game').

Only thing I'll really say about abilities or limits is that its only been "10 years" since the first of these new Witchers were made, so characters won't be seasoned veterans comparable to the Witcher 3 characters running around.

I'm satisfied with the response so I'll get character sheets up this evening.

I've never been a huge Witcher fan, mostly because of some of the characterization, but I've always been intrigued by the concept of witchers,  of contracted monsters hunters trained since childhood, and the sorceress lodge was pretty cool as well. I'm tentatively interested in playing a Witcher, or some sort of recruit.

Primarch

Character sheet is up, I've kept it rather minimalist because I'm really more interested in letting you guys but up the bare bones and the rest can be developed via plotting & IC. Not to mention if people want to take up more than one character this will make it easier. If you have a preference to write paragraph form over using bullet points please feel free. There's a bit at the end where you can add any additional details you would like known though I ask if you wish to put in a bunch of other images please use a [*spoiler] tags. Just so we don't clutter stuff up.

Any questions please feel free to ask.

Lustful Bride

What kinds of Character Images are allowed?

In was planning to use this (to keep with the White hair motif of Witchers)

Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

But I can keep looking :P

Primarch

White hair isn't actually a Witcher thing, just Geralt because main character is special!.

I have a preference for 'live action' or 'real' but at this point I'm pretty happy with whatever you find so long as its appropriate to the setting. Only real issue is that there are no Lady Witchers. For some reason they never survive the mutation procedure.

But Ciri and that other Witcher (I forget his name) the teacher who helped teach Ciri, had white hair.

Hhehe, I guess I could make her a 'Wannabee Witcher.' instead :P

Forgive me, I am going to have to withdraw my interest here. Just have a bit too many stories going on at the moment. But thank you for the chance to write with you all.

Character: Conor
Player: Primarch

Role: Witcher
Specialties:
  • Contracts involving Vampires
  • Sword combat
  • Use of the 'Quen' sign

Personality:
  • Confident & assertive.
  • Prefers a small number of friends.
  • Loyal to the Witchers School & Lodge Sorceresses.
  • Walking 'the Path' has rendered him somewhat jaded due to poor treatment by nobles & commonfolk alike.
  • Enjoys drinking, both to get properly soused but also as a social buffer.
  • Generally considered very patient but once his temper is lost it can take very long to calm down.

History:
  • Born in Nilfgaard proper but rendered a war orphan while still very young.
  • Acquired by the Sorceresses Lodge and raised to be a Witcher.
  • Conor is 'first generation' of the new breed of Witchers, among the first boys to survive the Trial of Grasses.
  • Has traveled significantly since completing his training and becoming a full Witcher, prefers to be at Kaer Morhen when possible however.
  • His successes in dealing with the various breeds of Vampire (such as the Alp, Bruxae and of course the Ekimmara) has earned him the reputation as the resident expert in dealing with them.

Relationships/Connections:
  • Relationships Open

Additional Details:
  • Conor's weapon of choice (once earned) will be Aerondight, currently he fights with steel & silver sword crafted in the style of the Griffin school.
  • He favours heavy armour, using a suit of Undvik armour
  • Consumes the Werewolf decoction
  • He rides a black mare named 'Empress.'
  • He plays a Nilfgaardian Gwent deck.

Primarch

@Neithriel, Rohna looks good! Only thing I'll say is that the Lodge is a gathering of 'the best of the best' Sorceresses. Though she could have been trained at a Magical Academy such as Ban Ard? Then once her talent became clear she was recruited into the Lodge?

Neithriel

That works I"ll get that rewritten as I said I am still kind of reading and learning only played a bit of witcher 3...a small bit...so do feel free to offer a bit of help as needed!

Carly

what sort of spells can sorceress cast ?

Do we have a set of 10 or less and can have 3 mastered, 3 adapt, 3 novice effects or something ?

Primarch

Magic in the Witcher generally seems to be pretty versatile (magic bolts, erasing memory, opening long distance portals, removing/changing clothing, manipulating dreams/necromancy for instance), especially for high level Sorceresses and as it is a freeform game I don't want to pin you down onto anything too strict. Use the 'specialties' to give an idea of her area of expertise. But generally speaking be reasonable, don't use it to utterly warp reality on a whim or solve every and any problem by pulling out *just the right spell,* show signs of fatigue after using magic and we'll be fine.

Carly

also in the end of witcher 3, ciri became a witcher - for the ending that I had anyway.

She is a woman. So is their variants of a witcher that can be a woman? I know mages can be male.

Ciri was trained in Witcher tactics but never received any of the mutations that make the difference between a trainer monster slayer & a real Witcher. But she was the Lady of Space & Time so she had a whole different bag of tricks.

Laughing Hyena

Indeed. Ciri is far more formidable than a witcher. Arguably one of the most powerful people alive in that setting.

Ciri has the Elder Blood in her, so she has her own powers that made it so she didn't need the Witcher Mutations to be powerful.

Also for those still wondering about why there are no female witchers...

Quote from: From a Reddit asking same question. The trial of the grasses was designed to work on boys/men. Women have a different hormonal composition than men; therefore, a trial of the grasses for women would require new research. Since the demand/respect for male witchers is already low, this research is unlikely to take place. This is mentioned somewhere in the first 2 books.

Anyway, I am thinking of either a witcher or a sorceress for this, I'll let you know....

  • Kind, she is exceptionally kind to those she deems worthy of her kindness, yes this isn't all encompassing but if you can get on her good side, she will be your strongest friend and ally, at least in her mind.

Primarch

We certainly need more Witchers.

@Carly, may want to reign Iska in a touch. I appreciate she lacks versatility but a lightning storm creating Sorceress who can create nearly impenetrable forcefields at the same time while carrying around several D&D style bags of holding so she can make use of her Witcher trained combat agility might overshadow some of the others. I might ask you to nip out the "can do both" part in particular, as far as I'm aware bigger magic in the setting tends to require a lot of concentration & focus for one task, nevermind two.

On a more general note concerning the Sorceresses, I think so far all of them have been recruited by the Lodge quite shortly after their training. In the plot I set up a group of Sorceresses re-made the Lodge and then went about remaking the Witchers. As Sorceresses age super slowly (Yenn was supposed to be about 90 if memory serves, during the events of Witcher 3) and a good Sorceress is so important they often become advisers for the most influential people. So if anyone is interested in being a little more experience in the world by all means please feel free to work that in. Not to mention it would back up something Carly mentioned in her post, funding. A Sorceress with a career at her back could have a nice bank account at her back.

Primarch does the witcher schools still exist in some aspect or are they all of the same school and if so I assume it is the school of the wolf?

No Witcher schools were still in operation and there had been no new Witchers since the days of Geralt 100 years previous. The school re-opened by the Lodge is Kaer Morhen, the traditional home to the School of the Wolf. The research gathered before creating new Witchers however came from far & wide, so some lore & knowledge may have come from any other Witcher school.

Sure, so reign in the lightning, - cant cast two spells at once, no combat agilty and no pouches of holding ? if i make those changes is she ok ?
can she keep the linking speciality ? Did you want me to leave her spells being reduced in number and no portal casting or healing spells as she has powerful specialities?

Primarch

That would be fine. She can keep the linking. Having a general/modest understanding of other Sorceress practices is perfectly fine. Portal casting seems to be very common, healing less so but still not rare as far as I'm aware.

ok she is nerfed in the way you requested PRimach.

Is her family business I mentioned sensible to you or did you want me to make her poorer and have something to aim for in the role play?

I was thinking that castles etc would need a lot of money to get right, and I assume that a nearby town would be something the lodge would heavily invest in also if that's where we get our food and supplies

Furthermore I guess we need to pay for servants and guards etc right ?

We need a gold mine or something !

Primarch

She doesn't need to be poor but I think Sorceresses don't tend to have very much contact with their families once they are accepted for training.

As for servants & guards, Kaer Morhen is in a very remote area and I believe the Witchers generally kept to themselves and took care of things. If the new Lodge who are running the show want to do things differently that's their prerogative.

Carly

Primarch

Character: Lucrezia of Beauclair
Player: Primarch

Role: Sorceress
Specialties:

  • Pyromancy
  • Oneiromancy
  • Alchemy

Personality:

  • Pragmatist - Lucrezia has spent decades as political animal in Toussaint and long since learned to act on the reality of a scenario.
  • Ruthless - Lucrezia will allow nothing (and nobody) to get in the way of her objectives
  • Patient - A year or two is nothing to a Sorceress. She will take her time to make sure something is done right.

History:

  • Born in Beauclair only a handful of years after the Higher Vampire Dettlaff was killed.
  • Her affinity for magic was discovered and she was relocated to the recently relocated Aretuza Academy.
  • Following her graduation she spent several years traveling, during which time she become involved in the Imperial Court and spent a year lecturing at Oxenfurt.
  • Returned to to Toussaint where she became adviser to Duchess Anna Henrietta's successor. She largely held this position for the next sixty years, though there were  many sabbaticals. Throughout this period she became famous (or perhaps infamous) for political maneuvering and asserting influence as much as she could. At one point it was an 'open secret' that the Duke was a mere puppet.
  • Some years ago she met with other noteworthy Sorceresses and was a founding member of the reformed Lodge.
  • Traveled to various locations famously associated with Witchers to assist in their project.
  • Since the Lodge successfully re-created the procedure to create Witchers she has stayed at Kaer Morhen, overseeing the new School with other members of the Lodge.

Relationships/Connections:

  • Open
  • Open
  • Open

Additional Details:

  • Though she does not operate under the title, she is technically a Countess of Toussaint.
  • Her tremendously long career in Beauclair's court has provided her with a sizable fortune, much of which is currently held up in property. She owns three Vineyards, most notably Corvo Bianco. She has long since let the day to day runnings to others.
  • During her time at the Imperial Court she was working as a Spymistress.
  • Finds Gwent to be 'common,' but is a horse racing aficionado and has enjoyed success in Toussaint's racing tournies. She currently rides an ashen mare by the name of 'Dame.'

So question....

I am interested in making a character, but possibly one that would hire the witchers for a job or interact with the sorceress.  What plot did you have in mind, Primarch? Is it going to be mostly training at Kaer Morhen? Are you guys planning on traveling? I could be anything from an herbalist merchant to a bastard daughter of the emperor who seeks higher glory.

Thinking of making her a little exotic, like half-Zerrikanian so she's got a bit of bronze to her...

Not sure if I have the time to play a big role, but I am up for a smaller role as one of the women the Witcher casually hooks up with.  :P

My plan was to set up a 'mini character sheet' for monsters so people could offer each other Witcher Contracts. From there people can turn up where ever a contract takes them. My chief interest as the person running the game right now is getting a healthy population of Witchers & Sorceresses to populate Kaer Morhen. 'Plot Essentials' I suppose you could call them.

But if you have something in mind we can probably expand the scope from an earlier point, though we still only have one Witcher. Why don't you drop me a PM with the contract/job you have in mind and we'll hash it out?

What's a Witcher story without its strumpets?

Of course you could take up a Sorceress who's taken on a smaller role at the School over the years or most of her duties are 'off screen.' More interested in making sure the Witchers are up to scratch with rigorous evaluation.

What age do you put him at? From the image I had assumed he was 20-something and with a history of raiding, horse racing & adventure I guessed that was about right but then you describe as the youngest of the new Witchers. Not a problem at all, I just don't want to start penning in ages for later characters.

Although I'm inclined to point out he should have been largely raised to be a Witcher with that whole "taken in as children" thing they have going on. I guess they're a bit like Jedi that way? As opposed to a life of adventure and then volunteering for the dangerous process, like a Grey Warden I suppose.

EDIT: I'd actually like to get OOC/Character page up tonight. How do people feel about putting this game in the Bondage/Exotic section? The way I see it bondage should cover any 'captured' scenarios that might arise. Exotic will cover any monsters people take on too.

I imagine Skellege is a much more harsh environment for a child. Then again I did forget that detail. He could have say volunteered as a child.

Primarch

For children? I doubt it. Skellige folk might be a bit more rough & tumble than their counterparts in Novigrad and the like but the average village in Skellige seems much the same as the average village in Velen. Drowners by the water, bandits off the beaten track and trolls in the mountains. Either way he would still need to actually get to Kaer Morhen and volunteer. I'm sure you could put together a story for how a child ended up volunteering at Kaer Morhen but it just seems like a stretch. It would be much easier and to be perfectly honest my significant preference to keep it as how things normally play out with Witcher recruitment.

Carly

should we have age as something in our character sheet ?

Primarch

Its probably not super relevant for the most part, especially for the Sorceresses but feel free to include it under the "Additional Details" section if you fancy.

Character: Mael of Vizima
Player: Deamonbane

Role: Witcher
Specialties:

  • Ranged Combat
  • Potions/Alchemy
  • Cunning Businessman

Personality:

  • Quiet and withdrawn
  • Sarcastic and cold in most dealings. Handles friends with uncertainty, careful not to hurt or annoy them in any way. Socially awkward.
  • An angry, impulsive drunk. Usually avoids drinking or imbibing narcotics.

History:

  • Not much known of early history. Was taken off of the streets of Vizima by the Lodge, more as a guinea pig for experimentation with the as of yet untested Trial of the Grasses, as he was already half dead from pneumonia when they found him
  • Survived, surprisingly enough, thanks to the use of various concoctions. Trained alongside the first batch of witcher recruits, but was physically inferior to most of the others, looking sickly and thin for the duration.
  • Survived the Trial of the Grasses, barely. Whether his difficulty was due to his already poor health or if it was because the lodge tried more variations of mutations on him due to them thinking that he wouldn't survive anyways is uncertain. His modifications made him stronger, although less so than his fellow survivors, but improved hand-eye coordination and reaction time. While he was fairly competent with the pair of blades that he was given, he chose to focus his training on ranged combat with throwing knives, bows and crossbows, instead of hand-to-hand combat.

Additional Details:

  • Carries a pair of swords, although discarding the longswords that most witchers preferred in favor of a pair of Leaf-Shaped Short Swords, which he carries in a single scabbard across his back.
  • Known for his use of a Recurve bow, with a quiver of steel and silver-tipped arrows that he makes himself. Also known to carrying a selection of throwing knives hidden in handy locations on his body. Sometimes, but rarely, he also carries a crossbow.
  • Known to ride a Bay Roan Gelding of no particularly well-known sire or dam. It is a battle horse though, calm and ready. It's name is Duke.
  • Has a proficient Northern Realms Gwent deck, tends to play the various spy-use strategies to win.

Primarch

Looks fine for the most part.

When you say 'cunning businessman' is that a reference to negotiating his pay for a contract and the like or does he have business interests?

Deamonbane

I would say both? Some small business investments, as well as being a cunning negotiator in terms of payment for his services.

Also, do you want Mael and Conor to have known each other, as they were both part of the first batch?

@Vlexia Hey there! It's been too long!

#72
Character: Bellatrix

Player: Vlexia

Age: 63

Role: Sorceress

Specialties:
* Element of Fire (Fire Storm, Fire Ring, Fire Armor, Explosion)
* Political intrigue and knowledge
* Illusion and disguise

Personality:
* Brash, at times she is a bit forward, overconfident, a trait that has led her into situations that did not end well. However, this has ended in her favor because she has learned, often the hard way, how to use her powers and how to survive, sometimes against much stronger foes.
* Overconfident. She hasn't died yet, especially since she most likely should be dead by now.
* Despite her bold personality, she has a very strong sense and attribute of justice, and thus very involved with the community and a active supporter for equal rights of all races.
* Being so old and starting her training so late, Bellatrix is a little strange with just a touch of insanity, mumbling to herself at times and walking alone at night.

History:
Bellatrix is not her birth name, but none are still alive who know it for she has outlived them all. Initially from modest, and ignorant, beginnings the woman was born in Zerrikania by a couple who were traveling merchants and traders. Her powers were made manifest at an early age but her parents neither knew, or cared, exactly what she was dealing with, instead assuming she was merely "strange". It wasn't until they were in Ard Carraigh where the Sorceress advisor Sabrina Glevissig felt the power of the young teenager and took her under her wing. This experience under the advisor to the previous King's Court and the late entry into the Lodge is a major reason Bellatrix initially struggled with her power and still has remnants of crazed personality traits. Her age, experience and wisdom has hidden these but they are still very close to the surface. She corresponded with other Soreceresses to reestablish the Lodge due to the increase of Monsters and the need for Witchers.

Relationships/Connections:

Additional Details:
* Has a coiled dragon tattoo at her lower back, and
various others
,that are callouts to her homeland where the people worship dragons.
* Wears light leather armor that may seem provocative but is really more for the damage caused by her fire power.
* Loves red wine

If you cannot honor a No, then you certainly could never honor a Yes.

Laughing Hyena

Character: Elias
Player: Laughing Hyena

Role: Witcher
Specialties:

  • Gifted with the Aard Sign
  • Most comfortable with Heavy Armor
  • Quick Learner/Fast Thinker

Personality:

  • Brash and Passionate
  • Unyielding Loyalty to the Witchers
  • Tends to leap before he looks rather than plan things out
  • Very festive and would rather spend money on luxurious food and drink.

History:

  • Born in Skellige, he was born into a disgraced family.
  • With either death or exile, the father chose exile, abandoning the child to whatever cruel fate befell him.
  • Grew up in his youth as a servant of the An Craite. However the boy was soon delivered to Kaer Morhen to undergo the Trials of Grasses. The reason being was to pay for the sins of the the family. Hence his name was stripped and rechristened.
  • He is the youngest of the new Witchers of Kaer Morhen

Additional Details:

  • Prefers a Skellege Deck (obviously) when in a game of Gwent.
  • Is terrible at Gwent
  • His horse is called Dusa. A rustic brown stallion with a black mane of hair.

(A second attempt to better fit the requirements of what Gm is looking for. A servant boy of the An Craites seemed like a fine idea considering how tied they are to Witchers.)

Primarch, I posted my character in the character thread. I assume that was alright, since you approved of the last version of the CS I sent you.

Primarch

@RedEve, that's fine!

@Laughing Hyena, looks good, post him up!

@Vlexia, looks good, post her up!

@Deamonbane, keep the business interests to a minimum. Defeats the purpose of being a wandering itinerant monsterslayer by trade if they have other reliable nesteggs to fall back on. Sorceresses tend to be wealthy, especially the ones we'll be interacting with. Witchers tend to be the opposite. Otherwise, yeah post him up! I'd say Conor & Mael know each other quite well. Would have gone through the Grasses & training together.

Character:Kantrad of Tridam
Player:Grg5

Role: Witcher/Blacksmith
Specialties:

  • Metallurgy & Bombs
  • Blacksmith
  • Naturally Talented with numbers but without any education.

Personality:

  • Skeptic with tendencies to cynicism but a good heart.
  • Very curios.
  • Sometimes lazy.
  • Highly regards persons who speak a harsh truth rather than concealing it, he hates lies but seldom shows this to anyone as he lies himself nonetheless.
  • Can seem even more apathetic than he already is.
  • Not a big fan of too much attention.

History:

  • As a son of a blacksmith in Tridam he always wanted to study at the University of Lan Exeter. His father told him, if Kantrad could proof himself as a well enough Blacksmith he could study there, a lie Kantrad happily believed for far too long.
  • Being very lazy until the lie (well, as lazy as one can be at the age of not even five) Kantrad poured everything he had into becoming a better Blacksmith afterwards, not just becoming quite talented but after not too many years nearly surpassing his own father in skill. A fact Kantrad concealed from His father as he always reacted very poorly to anybody being better then him and Kantrad had no reason to believe he would be treated differently in any way, instead he tried to learn from other sources and hide any accomplishments until he could proof his worthiness for the University.
  • Before Kantrad ever got to reveal his progress and skill to his father he got traded away at the age of eleven, his father was happy to get a better deal and not having to feed another unskilled mouth as Kantrads older brothers were help enough. This way he ended up being the debt payment of some Nobleman which lead him to Kaer Morhen, eventually undergoing the Trial of Grasses.

Oh this sounds very good, well contrary to my character, I'm not quite happy yet and there are some things still missing but it's quite late already here and I might as well share my interest and progress and also ask if the age is young enough with eleven to arrive at Kaer Morhen but I'd quite love the idea of being both, Witcher and skilled Blacksmith for everyone. Well anyway, it's a start if you want to have me.  :-)

Edit:Added a little bit.

A passing Witcher one day told her stories. He had captured her imagination and wonder with his stories of fighting moinsters and other things in the wild. This made her come to respect and admire those who became witchers. It was like something right out of the stories she would hear in the village. As she grew up she became a very skilled hunter in her own right. One day she was sent upon by a griffin and though she did her best to fend off its attacks she was at a great disadvantage. However a different witcher than before happened upon her amd saved her live. Due to wanting to see the world, experience a great adventure and to pay off a life debt Esmerelda has stuck by the Witchers side ever since.

    Character: Serugei of Nilfgaard
    Player: LeSane

    Role: Witcher
    Specialties:

    • Gifted with the Yrden sign
    • Magnificent Tracker of both Man and Beast
    • Large Weaponary

    Personality:

    • Surgei has always carried himself in a well-mannered, exemplary fashion, well-nigh indistinguishable from that of nobility; his mannerisms, coupled with his keen intellect, often leave people astounded that he was once a slave. He has learned to be this way around others though this is just a rouse; a mask of sorts.
    • Relies on cold logic and reasoning, placing higher precedence on success than compassion. He will show compassion though it is not an act.
    • Apathetic to the deaths of his comrades' or the innocent if it means his own survival. This also goes for himself.
    • Despite the false affection he displays towards some comrades, he comes to believe that they are like himself are expendable, nonetheless, considering them nothing more than tools for achieving a goal.

    History:

    • Is an Ofir who's mother was a captive in the land of Zangvebar from there his mother and older sister were sold off into slavery. Eventually, they were swiftly taken by a wealthy Nilfgaardian who took his mother as his mistress in secret because of her beauty. She gave birth to him in secret in fear the Madam of the house would kill him. When he came of age the young boy was to be the servant to his master's 'First' child while his sister did not have such an 'proper' fate. She was traded off to be another man's concubine. To this day he has tried to gain some information of both his sister and mother but assumes they have both perished. One day the Lord was assaulted by a Woodland Spirit and was saved by a witcher. The Nilfgaardian Lord thanked the Witcher for his heroism with gold, but 'The Law of Surprise' was invoked upon him. When he came to take his child instead, he took Serugei revealing that he was his first child rather than the one from his wife.

The Witcher brought young Serugei to Kear Morhen where he would take the first steps; The Trail of grass which he barely survived and was brought up with his fell recruits to be a Witcher though many from his class did not survive the grueling test. There were times Serugei thought of fleeing but knew they would catch him eventually, so he endured and became one of them. A witcher. The concoctions made him taller and built to hand the cuts, scrapes, and bruises.

    Additional Details:

    • Unlike the other witchers he has fashioned both his Silver and Steel swords to a saber like fashion. He does this as an homage to his homeland even though people make the 'curved sword' comment.
    • As an Ofir he was already looked down upon, but being a Witcher has not made it any better. He is the cheating, the spitting as he passes, and mean looks. If he had any feelings, he would say that it hurts.
    • Owns a Monter Gwentt deck even though he dislikes the game since he finds it annoying. He will not play unless there is anything else to do, and he will find something if possible. Even going as far as making something up to avoid the game.
    • Is untrusting of most humans because they have attacked him instead of paying him. His fellow Witchers do not know it, but he killed the ones who fell back on the contract and dared to kill him just to save a few crowns.
'Life is an unreasonable game in which winning was impossible from the start. Even so spread your wings and fly straight into the sun! If the world threatens to swallow you whole crush it under your heel.'

    Primarch

@Grg5 - Just drop a message when the CS is done

@LeSane - If he makes his own weapons you'll want to replace one of your specialities with blacksmithing or something similar. He can also have simply found them in the armoury or purchased them. Your choice. If he has a history of killing people that don't pay it will get back to Kaer Morhen eventually. Word will spread and right now Kaer Morhen is the only source of Witchers. Otherwise he's fine, make any tweaks you like based on what I just said and post him up.

    IC is also up

    LeSane

Well, I assumed that he got them custom made or at the very least had a fellow witcher made them with the crowns he's collected so far due to his contracts. As for those he has killed in the past if asked it wouldn't be anyone that would be missed mostly Mercenaries, Bandits, and such who put up contracts. My witcher takes the more... shady contracts.
'Life is an unreasonable game in which winning was impossible from the start. Even so spread your wings and fly straight into the sun! If the world threatens to swallow you whole crush it under your heel.'

    Primarch

Having them custom made/purchased is just fine. App reads like he made them himself.

I'm going to deny the shady contracts/murdering people that hire him for now however. The Witchers/Sorceresses are in a tremendously precarious position and anybody putting them at risk with that sort of behaviour would be dealt with. Once we bring in the Witcher contracts you can make arrangements with someone to NPC an encounter and he can kill the person that refuses to pay him and make a plot point of it.

Primarch, I'm making a second character...hope this one works...

    Character: Caridin
    Player: Fireflights

    Role: Witcher
    Specialties:

    • Use of the 'Somne' Sign
    • Good with talking to the Locals, can smooth over almost any issue that arises if he learns of it.
    • Crossbow - Very good with the crossbow in combat

    Personality:

    • Caridin is a charmer by nature, he will flirt with ladies just because he can, he doesn't mean anything by it to be honest. He just likes to see them smile.
    • He's caring, which is unusual for the Witchers given they tend to have less emotions than most.
    • He can be serious when the need arises and he's extremely loyal.

    History:

    • Caridin was born in Toussaint and as a small child worked on the orchard with his brothers and sisters.
    • When he was ten, he was aquired by the sorceresses when one came to stay with his family and told them of their desire to turn him into a witcher.
    • He was from the second batch of Witchers made from the group, he's traveled far and wide to complete his training as well to become a full witcher.

    Relationships/Connections:

    Additional Details:

    • Terrible at Gwent, hates the game
    • Loves the ladies, they also seem to love him but he tends to leave a lot of broken hearts about.

Okay then - here he is!

    Character: Adao of Eysenlaan
    Player:  Bittersweet

    Role: Witcher
    Specialties:

    • Investigation and ‘tricky’ contracts
    • Can hold his own in a brawl and then some
    • Field Herbalism (ie: can recognize, find and process stuff while on the road)

    Personality:

    • Friendly, easygoing affect, but doesn’t give secrets or loyalty easily
    • Randy, one night kinda guy and doesn’t seem too interested in settling down.  Beds both men and women without qualm. Doesn’t care who knows it either.
    • Doesn’t have a temper, but takes betrayal of trust very hard
    • Feels sorry for peasants and common folk, rather hates the nobility even though they’re the ones who can afford him.

    History:

    • Born in Eysenlaan, in a village outside a local baron’s keep.  His mother was unmarried and far too many folks commented ‘why, he looks just like the laird as a boy!’ for to make the baron’s actual wife happy
    • He was ‘given’ to the Sorceresses by the baron’s wife after one too many comments on his looks
    • One of the older boys to survive the Trial of Grasses
