Not a worry. I know we can only have two now and I don't make them suffer for any other character.

But since the game hasn't begun I thought it would be harmless to flesh out this third idea I have. He fits an entirely different niche than my other two do.

As Dasha says, for now, I'm keeping it to two characters per player.

There are reasons for this beyond the one Dasha said. In the past I have seen games killed by a single player who created so many characters that they literally had a finger in every single sub-plot in the game, got all their characters intricately involved, then dropped out.

This, by the way, is the origin of the rule relating to characters of players who drop out becoming the property of the game or words to that effect. No-one joins a game intending to drop out (at least, we assume they don't, although I have my suspicions about some people), but things happen. If your character is central to a scene, and you are forced to vanish for some reason, and we all know life happens, then this rule makes it fair on the other players who wish to continue the scene, that you have agreed at the start that the GMs can use your character and/or pass him/her to another player.

Yep 59.8" = 4'11.8"

She's short!

Greeting's all. Crystal pointed me in this direction just a few days ago. I had planned on creating a pony girl but was struck by muse while watching a storm and Violet came to mind. Look forward to getting to know you all.

I'm looking forward to writing with you again, sweetheart. Great to have you back.

I had to use a online converter as I go by feet and inches. Should be 5'11.

Will reedit it. Thanks for pointing that out.

Added:

Edited post hopefully now correct at 180 centimeters.

*chuckles*

You should have done what I always do and state both metric and imperial. That way, I might actually have spotted it!

5'11" is 71" = 180 cm. I use a TI-36x calculator that has built-in functions to convert stuff, plus a load of constants like c, G, g, h and others.

I shall be sure to with my second character and my little monsters ran off with my calculator. I am tough in that they are not allowed to use a calculator until they understand maths with their minds. Even though I rarely use my own they have decided I should know math by now and there for do not need a calculator any more.

1" = 25.4mm (or 2.54 cm). so 1' = 12 x 2.54 = 25.4 + 5.08 = 30.48 cm

6' x 30.48 = 180 + 2.4 + 0.48 = 182.88 cm

so 5'11" = 182.88 - 2.54 = 180.34 cm

All done without a calculator, believe it or not!

Um, no? Who said that?

I am getting OOC threads open today. Depending on how that goes, I might get to open an IC thread or two this week.

Certainly I will have the IC threads open by the weekend, though...

There are things I need to cover in the OOC threads, such as the IC rules for both ponies and riders (which are optional...) and the procedure for riders to select ponies, which have not been detailed here because there was no real need.

I will link the threads I open as soon as I'm ready to do so.

Please check out my latest A/A post.

Something Skyre's character made me aware of and I think needs to be made plane.

The height and weight are there for a reason.

If a rider character is 6'6" tall, they are going to have difficulty sitting on the back of a four-leg pony anyway, and it will be even more difficult if that pony is only 4'8" tall.

Equally, if your rider weighs 200 lbs, having them ride a pony who weighs 75 lbs is probably going to end badly...! And that goes for pulling carts too. If your rider character weighs a lot, don't expect a small, slightly built pony to pull him/her alone, at least, not very far or very fast!

Nymph, I have someone for you to play with... (And anyone else who likes him obviously)

Player ID: Skyre
Rider Character

Character Basics
Name: Jason Brian Miles
Gender: Male.
Age: 23
Orientation: Straight.
Nationality: British
Job: Mobile phone app programmer, creator of the global phenomenon 'What's app!'
Net Worth: "Currently valued at about $500,000,000. That's £292,000,000 in real money. "

Character Appearance
Height: "Six foot something... Two maybe?"
Weight: "Between 70 to 75 kilos I think."
Hair Colour: Sandy blonde.
Eye Colour: Grey and surprisingly sharp.
Build: Light.
Distinguishing marks: Two moles close together on his left forearm. Scared knuckles.

Character Specifics
Likes: "Computers and technology in general. It's so life changing and positive. Cars, but only old ones. Pretty girls obviously, but not gold diggers. Choral music and trance, preferably European. The good stuff makes me blubber. Cuban cigars, I know they're bad for me, but you only live once am I right? Swimming because I have to make up for those Cubans somehow and I'm no jogger. Oh and cold beer on a hot day. Blissful. "

Dislikes: "Umm.. Mac & Cheese. God just thinking about makes me want to puke. Being bossed around, definitely. I'm a grown up now. I can do whatever the hell I want. Jogging, I mean that's actually torture right? Besides why would you want to do that when rollerblading is way cooler and faster? Expensive food. Seriously the more expensive a restaurant is the smaller the portions get. Accountants. I've never met one who wasn't an asshole. Do you think it's in the job description? Pollen. It makes me sneeze and then I puff up and my eyes water. It's not at all pretty."

Personality: He's not very worldly wise outside of his areas if specialisation. Fast computers, fast cars he knows about. Fast women he has no idea about. He's a sucker for a sob story, but no fool for all that. He knows his own mind and won't change it easily. Having said that if he gets something wrong or changes his mind he'll definitely acknowledge it.
He's used to his own company and hard work, but not physical labour. He can get lost inside his own head for hours and get distracted by the strangest things, that are to him completely fascinating.
He's generally quiet and mildly introverted, but when angered he's quite the opposite and he's surprisingly good at looking after himself with a high pain threshold.

History: Jason is basically a geek. A hard nosed, hard working one, but a geek. Technology and mechanical things have fascinated him for his whole life. People not so much.
He's still coming to terms with his personal project 'What's app!' having been valued at £292 million pounds over night. Up to now he has had to work hard on his own for little reward and even less recognition. Suddenly becoming CEO of a company hasn't been an easy adjustment for him, but he's learned to show a firm hand with his employees when necessary and got a strange thrill out of doing so.
Being an up and coming multi millionaire he has inevitably found that he suddenly has a lot of 'friends' and hangers on he didn't know he had.
Last night was messy and he's woken up on a jet with only an empty champagne bottle and crumpled bill for a two week trip to somewhere called 'The Pony Palace' for company. He currently wearing jodpers, a riding helmet and lipstick whilst suffering from the worst and possibly the first hangover of his life.

Other Info: He has no idea what he's got himself into here. He's expecting to spend a boring, expensive couple of weeks learning to ride and take care of some dum horse. Stupid horses. What the heck even likes horses these days?

Please read the new section on selecting your pony - these apply to Riders mostly, but Ponies need to read them as well, and the new section on IC rules.

Pirate, I'm going to give you a friendly warning, because you probably didn't realise this. Once a character sheet is approved it is fixed. If you want to change anything, you need to seek approval for those changes.

I'm sure you can see the reasoning behind this: Suppose this were a game with some sort of fighting involved, and the GM approved your character based on having a certain number of weaknesses, so they were not totally invulnerable. Then between having the character approved and the point at which the game started, you slowly changed the character to make it stronger and less vulnerable? I'm sure you can see how unfair that would be.

I have just re-inspected your character, and it's still okay, but in future, please ask before changing an approved character. Thanks.

ok sorry Chrystal, I was only trying to make Maya's activity on offs just a bit clearer.  Last time Nymph did look over and ok it, so I kinda figured that I would need to check with a GM, and I was going to get that change looked over by you or Nymph before I set it in stone. However I will keep that in mind for the future! :D

No worries.

No harm, no foul, as the saying goes.

If you're just fixing typos or something, it's fine, but changing a significant detail can totally alter the character.

I was actually told a story once where the GM approved all the characters by PM and then had players PM the sheets to a Co-GM to post in the approved Character Thread, and at least one of the characters that was posted was significantly different from that which was approved.

I'm not trying to be a pain, just trying to be a good GM...

As my rules state, I am open to negotiation on most things.

Yes, Pirate and I discussed how he had his Activities, looking for some advice. I gave him some wording suggestions. But yes, I did neglect to mention that significant changes are definitely not to happen without obtaining re-approval. None of the main of the sheet was changed. ;)
