Yes, I know. But if I were Swordsage I would be.  :P

So, yeah. Wiz is probably redundant, so I'm thinking Cleric, maybe Swordsage if dual-dipping on wisdom is allowed (and maybe if not) XD
So, hey. Back now, and ready to write. Woo!

If I could coax a ruling that Swordsage AC bonus works in light AND NO armor

Although the book does just say light armour, that doesn't seem right to me. Swordsages should be able to be martial artists fighting without armour (or clothing for that matter) and still be effective.

Quoteand especially that Skyclad (the feat) stacks, I'd go Swordsage in a heartbeat :P

Well, the most comparable canon example would be a Monk's AC bonus and a Swordsage's AC bonus stacking. Checking the rules I can't see anything wrong with this as they're both untyped bonuses, same with Skyclad.

Yes. They can stack.

Sure, alright. So I'll be [Some Specialist Wizard/Cleric]2/Skyclad Practitioner 3, but calling those three substitution? Sounds fine.

I know, it's just a change of title but it makes me feel more comfortable to find a way to fit it legally into the rules, since I'm pretty certain the designers of the class wanted it to be available from a lower level and just didn't realize that prestige classes are meant to be level 6+.

QuoteIf I do do a Cleric, would I be able to do the No Specific Deity version referred to in this quote from the SRD?

Absolutely. I love the idea of cleric's drawing power from their moral philosophies and their own holiness without necessarily being dependent upon a deity.

QuoteIf not, what Deities do you as DM think would work with the whole Skyclad thing?

I see the setting as being a place where people believe in many many deities, and strange foreign lands have their own strange foreign gods (though scholars question whether sometimes they are the same god known by a different name). Thus there would be many religions and players are welcome to come up with their own mythos.

If you want me to come up with some appropriate religions I can, but as it's your character to roleplay, I don't want to restrict you from designing your character's own path.

Alright, well. Hound's the Wizard then. I'll either play Swordsage or Cleric. Anyone have any input?

EDIT: I think I'll go Cleric.

ANOTHER EDIT: What's the starting gold like?

Well hun, a radiant servant of Pelor be good.   The party could use some healing and someone to deal with undead.

Good idea. I do like using undead as adversaries as well.

Hmm. The Swordsage keeps poking at me. >.<

Would anyone be horribly upset if I did that instead? I know that gets rid of the healer, but.... Hrm.

Argh. Can't decide. >.<

Although I'm fine with the skyclad mage, at 5th level you won't be able to take a level in it yet.

Perhaps your character has been trained with skyclad principles but has yet to master the secret powers of these rituals. You could take a level in skyclad when you first level up.

Ok I have to ask can we use some of the FEATS from DnD Wiki this class is from I kind of like Chainmail Bikini Babe, a few others might be nice as well. ;D

While at it could I take some spells from Magic of Faerun (nothing diety or character in the world name specific), just asking. One is Forcebolt (1st level arcane) and the other is Forcewave (2nd level arcane) I find them handy and depends if I do a Sorceror or Wizard.

How are we rolling stats.  4d6 drop the lowest?

In that case, and I sent you the rolls:

14
12
14
9
16
11

Not bad.  :D

Now I have to decide what sort of build I want.  Hrmm...I'm thinking straight up Specialist, either Illusion or Conjuration, no prestige class, dropping...probably Evocation and Enchantment (though Enchantment can be nice later on :D).  As for feats I'm thinking going straight for all the Sudden Metamagics.

Hmmm...I always play human for the feat, but I'm really considering Elf just to change it up...and I won't have to carry a torch.  :P

Hey, if we're going to keep going long enough to reach lv 11+, I'd like to throw in a request for some sort of event to fulfill the requirement for Contemplative (Complete Divine). It feels like it fits quite well with the whole mystic thing I have going on.

Actually GH you still need to carry a torch.  Just get to see farther with the light source.    Need to play a dwarf or half orc with darkvision  not to need a torch.   ;)

Those are the characters I've received so far.

Absolutely. I'll keep that in mind while plotting and scheming.

If anyone else has prestige class qualifications and the like that they need to be introduced into the game (or just a story element you really want to be included) then let me know and I'll try my best to fit it in.

Anywhere you can find such prestige classes? Im kinda low on books here so no idea if anything would fit

RubySlippers

Wll have my character in tomorrow.

Serina Jorundel, Half-elf, CG, Cleric 1/Fighter 2/Rogue 1/Wizard 1 (after moving some stats around)

Her new stats: Str 14, Dex 14, Con 18, Int 15, Wis 14, Cha 10.

And face it you will neve be without one class in the party she can fill in anywhere.  ;)

Look through their prestige class index and if there's something you find interesting I can let you know more about it and help you make your character with that prestige class when you level up.

Hmm. Anyone have any suggestions for items to get? Currently have: a spell component pouch  (unless divine casters don't need that; I forget), silver holy symbol (some sort of generic mystic thing),  a ring of sustenance (I can wear four rings, so...), a periapt of wisdom, a light crossbow, 30 bolts, a backpack, a wand of cure light wounds (so I can use my own spells for other things), and a wand of magic missile [3rd level] (hooray, magic domain). I have 410 gp left.

If strict divine caster, no do not need spell component pouch.  Need a divine focus.  Your holy symbol.    Some spells cross, such as Descern Lies  Sor/Wis 8 V/S     Clr8  DF.

Right.

Can you tell I've not played a divine caster in quite awhile? XD

So, make that 415 gp. Oh, and I might as well throw a quarterstaff in. Can strap it to my back, is free, and could be handy for combat (can cast Bull's Strength, giving me a respectable 16 strength) and/or MacGuyvering.

Perhaps a steed or packmule?

An Everfull Mug (3 times per day creates water, cheap ale or watery wine) is only 200gp.
