Had a few questions, though, in regards to meta-humans and what the limits of "Mutations" and Elemental control are.

Mutations cannot be hidden, and often combine two to three metahuman powers. Mutants are highly discriminated against by humans, and some metahumans keep them at arms length. They are exceedingly rare, about 1 in 1.5 million of metahuman's are born a mutant, only one in a thousand survive birth, and one in a hundred survive past puberty.

Typically, no. However, if you can give me one hell of a good back story explaining how you survived and remained undetected for as long as you have, it will be considered. I'm only going to allow one, maybe two mutants in the game.

Well, you mention that you can't hide it. What do you mean by that? I know Metahumans have HeteroChromia. Do mutants have something else?

In addition to the heterochromia, they also display physical traits that mark them as a mutant. The last one We had was a lizard man. If you're going to add on elemental control, maybe the elements are reflected in your appearance in noticeable fashion, Rocky skin, hair that looks like flames, lightning patterns all over your body, etc.

That said, the mutation begins at puberty, and is often sudden. A parent doesn't often know their child is a mutant until then. Rare are the cases where a child is born fully mutated, and those can kill the mother during child birth

I can send my character idea to another person, it was just the first thing I came up with and it could be tweaked. I'm a fan of Sci-Fi so when I saw this thread I wanted to jump in. :)

Heya Curvy! Currently, we have the captain, an alien life-form, a bio-Android (npc), and a mecha pilot.

Tentatively, I have a human cyborg, and a mutant meta-human. I have a profile for the cyborg, who is pending approval, and still waiting on a profile on the mutant.

We are always looking for riggers/tinkers, medics, anything is really acceptable as long as it's unique. If the mutant profile gets approved, there won't be another one in the game for now. I'm reaching out to former players to see who is still wanting to play, but currently, only myself, RhinSama, and Pheonix are the only valid profiles.

Correct. Meta-humans are fairly common, so feel free to play one if you want.

I apologise if I'm missing something obvious here but I can't seem to figure out why there are spaceships, especially cargo ships when there is nowhere else to but the one planet. Sure its a bit faster travel to go into space and use the planets rotation to your advantage when traveling around the planet but how do pirates take advantage of that?

Because there were shipping lanes between Earth and Terra. It was more practical to use large ships for such things. There's also off world mining. There's till a large exodus of people coming to Terra from Earth

Plus, there are designs to explore and terraform other planets, once humanity is established better in Terra

Also, consider that they don't have airplanes or boats yet. Most major industry is around mining and mineral gathering in Terra. Small shuttles are used between the closer colonies. But bulk cargo is still used in suborbit runs. To go halfway around the planet, full orbit is achieved.

It's been 12 years since earth fell. Even with FTL travel, it took them a couple years to get to Terra, so it's taken a full decade for the Federation to establish enough housing for the survivors, and make adequate room for any stragglers. Luxuries like cars and planes just don't exist. People travel in foot, on pack animals, or by subspace shuttles and space ships.

Monthly recruitment bump! The game is slowly but surely advancing, and I'd like to bring in fresh blood and fresh ideas so everyone can enjoy the game. We're looking for 10+ members to get the game at full capacity.

What we are looking for: healers/medics, perhaps a psychologist, one or two more mech pilots, one or two fighter pilots, some research techs, and perhaps a hacker. No limit on metahumans, though it'd be nice to see a couple more normal humans in the crew. Also, room for one more mutant metahuman, with a plausible backstory.

If you have questions, feel free to ask me any questions directly. The only way this game can get better is with you in it!

Awesome. I have noticed an interesting correlation. Of one is a pilot, they are a normal human. If they are anything else, they are metahuman. I'm interested to see what you bring to the table.

All ship's and mechs come with some standard of A.I., so it's not unreasonable to think a technomancer has tinkered with the A.I. enough that only another technomancer could even open the ship's door.

Aye, seems like a medic is priority. Think I'll play a male after looking thru to balance the genders  XD  Could he fulfill a secondary role as a fighter pilot? Not excellent but relatively experienced.

Kavanagh claims to have blinded himself in one eye on purpose in order to disguise what he is. He claims that his other implants are the result of injuries received in the line of duty. He says that he joined the Navy at sixteen, served in a specialist transport squadron and that it was from this squadron that he stole his now heavily modified Heavy Fighter known as Athena. He claims to have transported a president and a Queen before he defected. To have shot down a heavy cruiser singlehandedly and made a spice run in just over eight parsecs. He brags of having ridden a solar storm and seen the edge of an Event Horizon. He claims to have modified every system in Athena by his own hand and to have improved her performance and combat effectiveness by around 15%.

Some or perhaps none of these are true, because Kavanagh is a consumate liar. What is clearly not a lie is that he is a skilled and fearless flier and that the only two things that he currently cares about are himself and his Athena.

We have attempted to run this game a couple of different times. But life has always come in the way. Things are starting to get better for Rhin and I, so I think a reboot might be successful this time. I am always willing to take in players, so the more interest generated, the better. I do need to do some modifications to the world and see if I can make it just a touch more realistic, even though it's sci-fi. well, maybe not more realistic, but more appealing in general.
