If someone asks while they are waiting to be approved to role play via AIM is it allowed? The post I saw was in the correct section non-adult forums, but I wasn't quite sure if we crossed the boundaries.

No. That is not allowed. The exchange of IM or any other identifying information in the public area of Elliquiy is prohibited.
