Monoclonious Automobilius: A Memorial Tribute To A Heroic Car (1995-2009)

One of the key philosiphies behind Volvo engineering is that if the car can take damage in a way that will spare injury to it's passangers, the car is going to do so.  Because of this philosophy, 2 people walked away from a head on collision on a major street in Texas this morning completly unhurt.  I was one.  The other was the man who ran a stop sign, instigating the collision.  He had no insurance, and his 2 ton solid steel truck was undamaged.  My acordian-mobiel had done just as much to spare him injury as it had me.  But we had to call it in.  The police were contacted, and he got back in his truck. 

Before he could get his seat belt back on, another truck, a dodge, this one having done nothing to notice the wreck and reduce speed, T-boned the first guy's truck just behind the driver's side door.  Last i saw of the guy my Monoclonious Automobilius had spared, he was in a neck brace going into an ambulance. 

If you're the sort to pray, please join me in asking the celestial realms to intercede on his behalf.

Sorry to hear the grisly details, Muse. I understand the loss of your car, been there done that myself. The important thing is you’re OK, and my best wishes for the other guy. Hitting and totaling someone, then getting T-boned yourself with injuries…that’s a bad day in anyone’s book.

I understand if you’re shaken and throbbing. When I had my head-on about 3 years ago they gave me pain meds that were essentially the same as what my mother’s doctor gave her for arthritis pain. They DO work, and I can tell you those airbags are not fluffy when they deploy. They’re meant to spare you grievous injury and they do, but they don’t feel good. I was doing pain meds and finding new ways to lie comfortably in bed for the next six weeks.  ???
