Lustful Bride

All Flesh Must Be Eaten (AFMBE) is a famous Zombie Apocalypse RPG that was heavily designed to be modular and accomodate a wide range of different types of infected, storylines and more. There were many supplement and splat books that could be used to create any number of stories. There are way too many official scenarios that could be used, so I will actually just list some scenarios below that we can use. Just some favorite ideas of mine right off the bat.

I am looking to play within the actual system of AFMBE though I am still very new at it and will need to learn it as we go along.

Red Queen Takes Command.

Chicago is now the latest in a long line of cities that has fallen to the ravages of the plague. The world is slowly being devoured by the undead and variants that rage and beat madly upon the walls of the fortified cities and survivor enclaves. The virus appeared suddenly and with little warning, despite the best attempts of various governments to contain it, and has now swept the globe. This unknown plague is far too lethal and infectious to be naturally occurring, leading many to believe that it was in fact, man made, and with the Variants walking around it only lends credence to this theory.

Variants are mutations of all shapes and types of these monsters, worse yet, some of them able to retain their intelligence and even command others. Some of the variants are nearly indistinguishable from human, and capable of modifying their forms. They have proven to be the greatest threat to the survivors, being able to infiltrate safe zones with smugglers and using other infected tactically.

Now with ravenous monsters, mutants, and their masters, the remaining uninfected are left to huddle in what relative safety they can. The military has become a full defense force now, unable to scrounge up the manpower or the resources to battle against the Variants. Until now. Storm 3 is one of the few teams in North America still actively being sent out to find survivors or conduct missions outside of the Safe Zones that don't involve gathering resources. This call is different though, they are bein sent out to rescue Storm 7, who came under fire from mutations, but reported that they were in visual contact with two Variants, who were fighting each other with full intent to kill. This was no small surprise since Variants never fought each other. Something to do with a type of hivemind mentality or shared something or other the CDC eggheads named.

Needless to say this was a priority investigation and Storm 3 wasted no time, upon arriving only two survivors were left of the other Storm team, though all the other infected were long dead and the two Variants were locked in pitched fighting with each other. Now that Storm 3 was closing in they could get a better look and found one of them was female, wearing a hoodie that seemed too small for her, while the other was an older male in a pinstriped suit. The tow of them were literally tearing each other apart and growing their parts back over and over again to the point it seemed that both of them would do so for eternity (or at least until one of them ran out of the biomass needed to regenerate. But it was decided when he male suddenly tried to rush the troopers of Storm 3, and their bullets were the deciding factor. As soon as the other Variant was dead, the female did something that no other had, she laid down on the ground and surrendered herself to them.

That was over seven months ago, since then Storm 3 hasn't seen or heard anything of this rogue Variant, until the day they are called up by their CO's, and the woman is standing there. She looked different from before, cleaner, and in a dress uniform. What came next were their next set of orders, and the assignment of a Variant as a new team member.

Her callsign is now "Red Queen" and she will be fighting alongside the soldiers of Storm 3. They are to meet up with the other Storm teams out in the field and make their way to a USAMRIID facility, and should they encounter any other Variants, then they will engage only if necessary, and in those cases. Red Queen Takes Command.

From Sea to Shining Sea.

Ten years have passed since the Earth fell to the endless tides of the dead. About a decade now since the infection first appeared (originally starting as isolated outbreaks of violence and cannibalism). It seems like a lifetime ago that the Earth used to be a place where people could take comfort in knowing that if they died, then at least they could not plague the living. It almost feels like a dream now. At first it was only the slow shambling hordes popping up on the outskirts of abandoned towns, shambling their way towards population centers in search of food. But then multiple strains began to crop up, different types of infected. Some that could vomit, some that remembered to use guns, some that could run. Then the Shambler strain went airborne. Thankfully by that point, it was also the oldest and easiest strain to carry a vaccine for. It was one f the last things the government was able to do before everything collapsed.

After the Shambler strain went airborne there was no shortage of dead bodies to rise up and assault the living. Areas that had once been secured were now being overwhelmed as everyone who died (and was not vaccinated) became a Shambler. They came out of our cemeteries, out of our hospitals, shambling through alleyways and busting through the windows of our homes. No matter what we did they would not stop. Their numbers were infinite, their hunger insatiable, and eventually there just wasn't enough bullets for all of the dead, and not enough vaccine for everyone.

Emergency Directive R51-A was initiated in the final gasps of the US government. A hastily constructed Continuity of Government plan that sought the survival of politicians, CEOs and the 1% over military, scientific, medical, personnel or even saving more civilians. Not many soldiers agreed with saving the fat cats over their own family, and many units began to defect, seeking to save what they could. With the world ending, crazy militias seeking to take power, and the dead rising, who would court martial them?

Some units sought to enforce their own will and secede from the Union, others just wanted to be left alone, some still tried to keep the politicians alive, and others sought to keep the country alive through military force. Bit by bit the old world died, the lights went out, the water stopped, the signals cut down to only a handful of stations still broadcasting. The last of the vaccine was used by these groups, to ensure that their families and other loved ones would not turn into the shambling dead upon death or a bite. Since then they have used this to clear out the areas around them and slowly begin building a powerbase. Several groups have begun to band together for safety, security, and a unity of ideas. The loyalists at NORAD, Raven Rock, Ft. Bragg and in Hawaii seek to reunite the Continental U.S. under the old banner and constitution. There is debate as to how soon to return civilian rule to the country, versus keeping it under martial law, but that is an issue to be dealt with once the country is fully retaken. For now the main issue is taking land back from the undead, securing resources and taking down seditionist enclaves and raiders to ensure a loyal population.

The Continental United States is their main goal. If there are survivors in Canada and Mexico, especially any government forces, it may not be a good idea to push into their territory. Best to stay within the old national borders until confirmation can be found one way or another.

Many have not forgotten how the government and military abandoned them when Directive R51-A was declared and are out for blood, but others are happy to accept our arrival in exchange for the aid we can provide. Sometimes it ranges from clearing out raiders, to providing humanitarian aid or even repairing their equipment with our engineers. Bit by bit we march on and rebuild more of the old world, establishing more safezones, gaining recruits, specialists and resources.

With the initial pushes of loyalist forces, some success has been found with small communities that thought they were all alone after the end, and lost military units that were happy to swear loyalty to the chain of command once more after being found. There have also been failures with raider attacks, swarms of the dead, equipment failures, and seditionist units that would rather see the world burn than to see their new little fiefdom be absorbed by the reborn Untied States. There are already reports out there of new kinds of horrors waiting for loyalist troopers as they set out to retake the continental United States. There are more than enough horrors to worry about from the eternally hungry dead, but the threats from our fellow humans never cease. Fort Bragg barely held on after multiple raider clans tried to attack them at once. But we cannot allow the country to fall. We are the last best hope for democracy, the best hope for survivors hiding on islands of safety in a sea of the undead. No matter what happens, no matter what we find or what we must do, come hell or high water, we will reunite the nation. From Sea to Shining Sea!

The Dread Menace

The Government had no idea what it was doing. It rarely did, as it fumbled and flailed about. Every day the average American was warned about the danger of the 'Red Menace' and how Communism and dissident behavior (or worse sexual deviancy!) would bring down Western society. It was all they were told even as they lost a brother, father, son, cousin, fighting the communists in Vietnam. Maybe it was inevitable that this would happen to us. A time of chaos, government corruption, generational strife and ugly warfare. But our possible destruction would not come from some foreign invader, or atomic fallout, but from those whose duty it was to keep us safe.

Better the whole world burn than the American public take their aggression and frustration out upon their all knowing leaders. Especially if the people knew about things like MK-Ultra and other nasty experiments the government did int he name of National Security.

Project SPEx was a Top Secret government organization assigned to overlook Special Projects and Experimentation in the war on communism. They had military backing, scientific know-how, and a ruthless Directory Board composed of three decorated generals, two senators, and a top man in the CIA. Yet despite all of this, there was not a real working brain among them. They had forgotten one of the oldest rules of war, that Viruses and chemicals do not recognize uniforms. They invented  a substance called NeuroThene-12. Anyone who imbibed in NeuroThene-12 became highly susceptible to suggestions.

Before they knew what they had on their hands they were already dropping it into the water supply of various target areas within the country and outside of it, hoping to have a way to control the public and achieve a victory in the cold war with one swift blow.  The drug succeeded in heightening susceptibility to suggestion by causing a slow degeneration in brain functions. At first, the victims were much more docile, controllable. In a perfect world, NeuroThene-12 would stop there, and the degeneration would cease. Unfortunately, the neural degeneration continued, until too much damage set in, and the brain shut down. Autonomous functions ceased, the subject died. Within minutes, something very strange happened. Synaptic activity in the primordial core of the brain returned. The victim reanimated. The higher functions were lost, and only those primordial components remained active. These people were little better than zombies, reacting to insatiable hungers. In a matter of minutes, someone in the final stage could be behaving normally and suddenly fall unconscious or exhibit grand mal epileptic seizures. When that person recovered, they returned horribly changed. NeuroThene-12 affected more than the brain. The chemical invaded the body’s glandular system, replicated itself in the body’s fluids. Thus, any fluid exchange could transmit NeuroThene-12 to a healthy body.

Before anyone knew what was happening, people suddenly became violent, eratic, lashing out a others. Small outbreaks at first, until the big one happened in Evans City. The outbreak became more public knowledge then and has only gotten worse as infections break out to the point that the public is now very aware of what is happening. With outbreaks occurring both at home and abroad something had to be done. SPEx’s Directory Board used political leverage to establish the House Un-American Living Activities Commission (HULAC). Publicly, HULAC investigates suspicion of communism. Specifically, they sought “to uncover the identities of those individuals responsible for the plot to turn American Heroes into flesh-hungry beasts.” HULAC investigates Threat Level Alpha locations with great spectacle. During the show, Site Investigation Team (SIT) personnel, composed of military and the CIA operatives, attempt to validate the influence of NeuroThene-12. Based on the SIT’s findings, the Threat Level of the area can be increased to Omega or restored to Zeta.

The SIT is now the main field operator Out of a secret base hidden in the Nevada desert, the SIT does its best to handle the growing crisis. Men and women from across the country and from different fields all working as hard as they can to find a solution that will save not only the country, but the world. The Directory Board is currently pursuing two potential Neutralization solutions.

First, are the Serum Groups. Teams of scientists and medical doctors are being commissioned to try and devise an antidote to the effects of NeuroThene12. Their task is difficult, as none of the researchers has been fully briefed on the drug’s properties. They are forced to waste precious time starting from the ground up. Some SIT members are working with these researcher teams, performing fieldwork. Still, the Serum Groups have a long road ahead of them. Unfortunately, the grim situation may not give the Serum Groups the time they require. As more of the U.S. infrastructure collapses under the weight of NeuroThene-12, SPEx’s Directory Board is entertaining a more extreme option. This involves the discharge of low yield atomic weapons in the original Test Areas, as well as any other Omega zones deemed unsalvageable. Though the idea of using atomic weapons on American civilians is preposterous, no one on the Directory Board has raised a feasible alternative.

The best hope for everyone is going to be in the field, from the SIT teams who are working to study the infected and find a cure or vaccine. The brave agents willing to put their own lives on the line for their fellow citizens, and finding a solution, even if they may end up as one fo the rambling crazies running about.

The Unholy Dead.

When the dead first rose up, it began in places where the bodies of the deceased were not given proper burial. Mass graves, the recently deceased, the lost. Each one of them suddenly came back. They were hungry, they were angry, and they hated the divine as much as they feared it. The first attacks were not against people, they were always against the
