Greetings,

This is my first time posting a new game request, so please bear with me. I was recently watching the movie Who framed Roger Rabbit, which led me to reading the novel that it was based on and it got me thinking. Would anyone else be interested in participating in a game set in this type of universe? I think it would be really fun for some human / toon pairing, human / human, and toon / toon. I was thinking the game could take place in either the time period that the movie takes place in, or can run in a more modern setting where you can have anime characters and CGI characters going around too!

I wasn't exactly looking at running this game, so if anyone else is chomping at the bit to run something like this, I would graciously step aside. However, if no one else is wants too, and enough people are interested, I would happily try my hand at running.

I was thinking the game would be freeform mainly, with lots of sex! :P  I was really interested to see other peoples takes on toon / human sex and what the differences and similarities would be.

Welll, I guess thats about it. Please let me know if there are any questions, comments, ideas, etc.

Thanks for looking. :D

Okay this is just too unique for me to not pass up. I am so in for this!

Faustus

I'm also up for this! It would give me a good excuse to play characters from cartoons that I feel I couldn't get to use otherwise..  ;D

Cool!

So I \'ve got two people interested thus far... :-)

Would you be more interested in having a game set in the past setting like the movie, or a more modern update that includes anime characters and cgi people etc?

Laughing Hyena

It depends on some of the majority that come in. Me I could not care either way. Either its sexy toons or sexy anime and cgi. I fail to see the con in the choice. :-)

Faustus

I'm fine with either too! I imagine that the majority will probably want more modern so they can play their anime characters, but I really go either way. If there is a push for anime/cgi, but the desire for the time period... I'm sure we can time-period-paradox it and bend it to our will! *laughs*

This RP has a lot of potential to make some pretty strange cross-breeds between two completely different cartoon characters. xD Looks interesting. I might want to join...

Very cool idea. I havn't seen Roger Rabbit in a while, but this type of theme can also be compared to Cool World that movie staring Brad Pitt in his younger days.

I would love to play a Holli Would type character.

Awesome! Glad to see we have some people interested! :D

@Carlissa: In the movie it was, but I like the idea (much like cool world) that humans and toons can actually have real, physical, mind blowing sex! So, thats what I would be running with for the sake of this role play.

@JDrew: That would be great. A toon femme fatale would fit in nicely with what I have envisioned.

I am thinking the setting would be a modern world. Toons are just kind of another ethnic group (Think greg the bunny if you have seen it) Alot of the more famous ones are actors (bugs, naruto, solid snake, etc) but they live and work in all walks of life. Most cities have a "toon-town" type area (think china-town). And thats just about it.

***I am toying with the idea that CGI characters are the results of mixed human / toon breeding. Hence the realistic yet still animated appearance, but wasn't sure what players might think of that idea.

I am working on some ideas for plot, but let me ask my potential players. WOuld you like to see something story driven with a mixed cast of characters working towards goals and having sex along the way? - or - Do you just want something simple like a bar / club / apartment complex, and you are free to roam and let your characters do what they will with who they will?

Ideas and opinions are warmly welcomed! :-)

Maybe story driven with sex along the way. The story will keep us interested more then the sex will if you want this to be much more longterm.

Regardless I don't think it would be possible for toons (or whatnot) and humans to make cgi people. Not in that fashion anyway. Might be imagination that gives the breath of life to a toon and popularity or acknowledgement of their existence that enforces said existence in the real world? Might explain a touch of maybe original anime or toon characters existing in that world alongside humans.

And that perhaps the "toontowns" are dimensional distortions between those worlds where one can enter from one world into another? Just pitching ideas on how this actually could have come about or how it can possibly mesh together.

Not sure if there is room for two femme fatales but I would be interested in playing Jessica Rabbit herself ^_^ if you'd have me?

I would have no problem with that what so ever. Just as long as when we start there is a nice mix of humans and toons, males and females etc.

You sons of bitches. I guarantee you once the holidays are over I'm going to find myself swamped, but God dammit inspiration has struck and now look what you've made me do. I have a character concept.

Dirty sons of bitches...

Name: Conroy Valet
Age: 7 (animated to be in his twenties)
Gender: Male
Race: CGI, Realistic, an "Uncanny"
Orientation: Heterosexual
Height: 5'11"
Weight: -*
General Physical Description: At first glance, he seems like a normal person. But even a single second spent looking at him let's you know that there's something not right. Something lacking life, a soul. So it is being an "Uncanny".

Hobbies: Just about anything that can be found in a bar, eavesdropping, bitching and complaining
Skills: Has a number of contacts, ear to the wall, tends to know how to get information and what's going on. A bit handy with a gun, too.
Occupation: Tips and Info to the highest bidder

Bio:

"What's that, kid? Don't I like dames? It's not about me liking them, kid. It's about them liking me. Look at my face. No, look at it. With your eyes. What do you see when you look in my eyes? Exactly. Nothing. I'm an "Uncanny", kid. It means "uncanny valley", which means "just not real enough". We creep people out, us uncannies. They don't like us, don't like being around us. So you ask me if I like the dames? Kid, the dames don't want to fuck a man that looks like he ain't got no soul. The real ladies look at me and feel like they're fuckin' a robot or a doll. The toons don't wanna fuck me because I'm a cheap dollar store imitation of a real human. What's that? The other uncannies? See, that's a problem, kid. Even us uncannies don't like bein' with our kind. We sit there, looking each other eye to eye, and all we do is remind ourselves we were never alive to begin with."

Conroy Valet was one of the waiters in the background of Robert Zemeckis' Polar Express. You know, that CGI movie with the almost life-like Tom Hanks? Only nothing seemed right. No one moved quite right, their eyes weren't quite right, and people noticed. The movie wrapped up, and Conroy Valet had nowhere to go. See, while those damn CGI kids and the CGI Tom Hanks were able to make mall appearances every year when Christmas rolled around, no one cared about Valet. No one cared about any of the extras. Most of them took rolls related to what they did in the film, be it working trains or waiting tables. But that just wasn't good enough for Valet.

Problem is, no one wants to hire someone that's almost human, but not quite. See, a regular toon, even the cute 3D ones from Pixar, are set for life. They're cute, colorful, imaginative, and if you're an anime then you might even be someone's fetish. You can get a job as a model, or perhaps run an escort service or porn industry. There were options. But no one wanted an Uncanny.

Valet learned, though, and learned well. He was able to find lots of valuable information searching for work, and soon enough found himself making plenty of contacts. He was an informant. He simply knew information. He gave most of it to the highest bidder, which actually turned out to be the papers. He tried to avoid giving information away to criminals. After all, due to his realistic nature he was vulnerable to a lot more than just The Dip. Unlike Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse, Valet could be killed with anvils to the head, hammers to the face, dynamite in the pants, or even just a knife or bullet.

Lately, however, Valet has been trying to make himself into a Private Eye. After checking out crime scenes simply to gather news for the papers, he's found himself capable of piecing info together. Perhaps crime solving is his passion, his purpose in life? Who knows. All Valet knows is, he needs to do something to keep earning money.

* Don't know if CGI's should weigh as much as regular people, or if they should be light as their body consists of planes and other flat-surfaces that are technically hollow.

** Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good photo of a waiter in the Hot Chocolate scene in Polar Express, so I just grabbed a photo of what my guy ought to look like, only less real and more CGI. Robert Zemeckis has also made the new Christmas Carol and Mars Needs Moms, and seems to specialize in creepy uncanny valley animation.

drezdock

@Capone: Thats perfect! That is exactly the kind of stuff I am looking for with toons being involved in the real world etc!
They would still have weight because they are not completely hollow, just like regular toons aren't completely hollow. I would think the more realistic the toon, the more realistic the weight.

Name: Catherine Bell " Bad Kitty"
Age: 4 ( 23 in animation)
Gender: Female
Race: Toon
Orientation: Heterosexual
Height: 5'5
Weight: 75
General Physical Description:

She always wears black.

Personal Information

A police officer straight from town of Chaos comic. Catherine was a 'tough as nails' cop back home. She had a very handsome boyfriend and loved her job. Until her boyfriend was  killed, turned into a zombie and sent to kill her. Ever since then she's been searching for her lovers killer. Hating the fact that she had to 'put down' her only true love. Promisingly  she was recruited into the PD to "keep the Toons" in check. It didn't matter whether you were made of ink or blood everyone was capable of making trouble. Humans and comic book characters had more in common than she really thought and ever since her recruitment she's been making a living as a cop in the real world. Catherine is well respected among her co-workers and is commended for her work on the force, she brought down some pretty tough crooks in her town. However  she's never had a partner to work with her side by side because she thinks they'll just slow her down.  To toon town thugs she's know as "Bad Kitty" for her very dramatic appeal when arresting or chasing down criminals in almost a feline like manner. She has black cat named 'Whiskey". Whiskey  was gift from her ex and she's kept him around for good memories and he's a wonderful companion.

Personality: Sarcastic, confident, fiery, smart and brave

Ok, so here is what I am thinking for a basic story so far...

Murder and Money

An eccentric billionaire has died. As part of his will he has made it so $10 million and a portion of his estate will go to the first person to follow a series of clues, solve riddles, and complete a scavenger hunt. The news has been widely publicized and people all over Los Angeles have been scrambling to piece together portions of the puzzle for weeks now. However, that much money is bound to drive anyone crazy. Any unknown killer has been killing off people who have been getting close to solving the mystery and winning the money.

Thats the basic idea I have thus far... Does that seem like something my potential players would be interested in?

Capone

Hrm. I was expecting something a little more traditionally noir. That sounds like it could result in a lot more than one killer in town.

I'd go with it, though.

Robyn Hood

Name:  Jessica Rabbit
Age:  68 years (permanent mid-20s cartoon age)
Gender:  Female
Race:  Human-esque Toon
Orientation:  Heterosexual
Height:  5’ 9” (6’ 2” in heels)
Weight:  145 lbs (if toons can be weighed)
General Physical Description: Slender, buxom and fair-skinned, Jessica has blue eyes, red pouty lips, purple eyelids and long red hair that cover her right eye. Normally she wears aqua earrings, a red strapless sparkling dress that shows her largest breast cleavage, bare back, and any one of her legs, long purple opera gloves, and shiny red pumps.

Personal Information
Voluptuous Toon siren Jessica Rabbit began as the unassuming Jessica Krupnick. Jessica was once a shy girl, who dressed in an unflattering fashion and kept her hair tied in a bun. As an insecure Toon, who didn't have the humor and gregarious tendencies of most typical Toons, she never received much attention. She was oddly oblivious to her own attributes and natural charms.

Jessica Krupnick got a job as a secretary in a radio station where she led a rather dull life and dreamed of something better. One day, a hyper-active Toon hare named Roger Rabbit came to the station. Roger was searching for his long-lost-mother (Roger heard a broadcast of a radio show "Mr. Keene: Tracer of Lost Persons" and erroneously believed that Mr. Keene was a real guy who could help locate his mother.) Roger sees past Jessica's mousy exterior and takes an immediate liking to her. She is flattered by his attentions. He asks her out on a date and she gladly accepts. As they grow closer, Roger makes Jessica laugh and encourages her to enjoy life more. He helps her start to come out of her shell. She slowly begins to dress in a more appealing fashion.

Years later, Jessica and Roger are caught up in a scheme by the evil Judge Doom to destroy Toon Town (A segregated community near Hollywood where Toon actors live) in order to build a series of shops and strip malls alongside the new freeway. This was the highlight of the couple’s fame and life together and they continued to reap the rewards of cartoon fame for many years.
However, it would not be happily-ever-after. Roger’s career would take a slow yet steady decline into near obscurity as his style of cartoon antics fell more and more out of favor with the evolving popular culture. For Jessica, even after the Ink and Paint Club closed there were plenty of more supper clubs for her to make the circuit and the growing need for models in advertising gave her plenty of work outside the cartoon world. Sex always sells. Roger’s decline made him more and more obsessive of Jessica and ate away his humor until the stress finally cracked their marriage and the two are currently estranged.

Personality: Jessica is sultry yet moral (“I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.”), beautiful, passionate and glamorous. Extreme confidence in herself and her looks Jessica will sometimes display mock innocence.

Skills: Singing and Entertaining, can handle a gun if she needs to, feminine charms and her cleavage is sort of a magical satchel where she can seemingly store numerous and sometimes large items. She can from time to time possess other restrained but comic gags typical of the 40s style of cartoons.

Occupation: Currently an advertising model but still occasionally does lounge singing and entertaining at supper clubs.

As far as the plot goes, I'll adapt to whatever you guys enjoy but I agree with Capone in that I was expecting it to be a little more noir as well.

drezdock

What exactly do you consider to be a "noir" plot / story? I want to run something that all my players enjoy thouroughly. I am just confused what you mean by noir. To me noir is humphrey bogart and fedoras and trench-coats shot in black and white. So what does noir mean to you?

Capone

Typically a noir story is characterized by a man trying to play the white knight in a corrupt world tracking a specific sort of murder case. By the end of the story, the world has either forced him to betray his own principles, or to die for them.

At least, that's the best summary I can give for the feel or noir. Usually there's just one crime or mystery trying to be solved, though, or just one serial killer being sought after.

charliep85

Very interested. I would like to play a male human. Possibly something along the lines of driver/cop/journalist.
