The Idea

In the year 2000, after a massive and intense Holy Grail War, the grail it'self ceased to fully function. Descending into the earth within the center of the town of Fuyuki, it's power seemingly to never be used again.... However, ever since it sank into the earth, the earth's ley lines grew stronger as wild Magic filled the air. Magic became more prevalent in the birth of new born's. As more and more were born with large quantities of magic Circuits, further the Grail allowed exceptionally gifted mages to summon their own servants even past it's death. And soon enough Magic was no longer something that can be kept hidden. With Magic at the forefront of society, the center of Fuyuki city became the bastion for all it's learning. Upon the site which the grail sunk into the earth, a massive school was built by the prominent magical families. This school only excepting the most gifted mages, those who can summon or tame their own Servant's. At this school, a deadly but fruitful future befall's every student. As dueling amongst themselves, with their Servants is highly encouraged. Where even the death of ones servant, or master is fully permitted! The only rule being, that classmate's may not fight with their fellow class mates... Once every year there is a tournament. This tournament celebrating the anniversary of The Holy Grail War's of old. Each class split into several teams pitted against each other in deadly conflict, a Holy Grail War!..... There is a foreboding sense to the school, something deeper to these rules that allow student's to fight freely to the death... It is up to your characters to get to the bottom of what sinister game is afoot. Or, to seek glory by dueling your fellow students in deadly conflict.


The game's basic premise:  This game takes place in the year 2020 in an alternate universe where magic and servants are common place. The setting it'self is set in a school atop the remains of the Holy Grails last known sighting before it seemingly was destroyed.

Posting: Posting pace will be relaxed in this game. I expect 1 post every week, no more then this is required. If you can not post for whatever reason I will appreciate a warning before hand, or to be informed if your going to be slow. These things happen, so I don't really care all to much if you end up being slow for a while or can not post for whatever reason. Id rather hear a word from you then have silence. On the reverse, if you are a machine gun poster that is fine, but do try to keep the other players into consideration in any scenes your together in.

Posting Size: I hopefully expect at least two paragraphs per post. If your post is small it happens. Sometimes there is not really that much you can do without needless filler. But I would appreciate at the very least, 1 meaty paragraph. Two is just the ideal.

Big game status: A Big Game Status is intended for the future of this role play. I foresee this to become a growing world with, hopefully, a lot of players.

Rules on PVP: First off there will be no Player vs Player unless both party's fully discussed it and agree on the outcome together. All players that are student's are a part of the same class. Meaning the rules on dueling applies to you all, sparring is permitted but no death or blood must be shed among fellow class mates. At least not with intent.

Character Age: 16 to 18 for students, older for teachers. No younger then 16 for any servant character! As is per the sites rules, no younger then 16.

Servant Master Matches-Or lack there of: The world it'self is simplified for a rp setting, as opposed to the typical Servant rules in Fate. In this school, Mages of all walks of life fill it's hall's. Most with their own Servants. Some without Servants. Some Servant's without a master, be their master dead or that the Servant was summoned by the wild magic the Holy Grail has left behind. (As random summoning does happen in this world.) If a servant is without a master, they may chose to bond with some one and in doing so that student or teacher may become their master. If a student loses their Servant they may be able to bond with a master-less Servant. (With this in mind it eliminates any problems with an uneven number of players, as Fate games often succumb to.) A master-less Servant is self sufficient of mana due to the wild magic the Holy Grail has left behind, however they have no access to their weapons or abilities until they have a master. (Be it for the first time or once more.) They do however have access to a faster healing process then that of a normal human as well as typically being physically adept at speed, strength and endurance. With these rules in mind, if a player drops and your down a servant, or your down a master, it is not the end of the world either.

Servant Number: In this world it is possible to have a second Servant, but no more or else it will drain you of mana and leave you Comatose, or dead. Two Servants will leave you weak, incapable of performing most magic and physically exhausted. So the use of a second servant sacrifices your own ability as a master to defend yourself. A draw back to an otherwise powerful situation. A gamble to say the least.

Character Limit: Players are limited to 2 or 3 characters at the maximum. No more. This is to allow you to be your own master and your own servant if you prefer. And gives you a third slot if you feel up for anything else, based on any character ideas you really want to do. Let me know if a character becomes a strain, we can work out a 'fate' for that characters retirement. :P Yep, pun intended.


The Setting


Fuyuki Academy: The Academy it'self has housing for well over 10,000 student's. Each class is assigned to their own student personal dorm's, each dorm housing a single class as well as their servants. (All player's with the exception of teachers will live in the same dormitory housing.) Each class is given their own name and symbol.

Command Seals; Operate as normal.

The Battle Arena's: While duel's are permitted pretty much anywhere on school grounds, (Say for Neutral Zones) it is encouraged that students take them to one of a few Battle Arena's built for the school. Fitted with magical barriers that would protect onlooker's from the massive power of servant's or the magic of their masters.

Dueling: Dueling is permitted at all times. Participants must be formally excused from classes or club activities. Dueling is prohibited between fellow class\Dorm mates. Team work between class\Dorm mates is encouraged but not required.

The Renown System: Each student is given there own name and password for a program connected to the school they can access at any given time. Their personal profiles exhibit's stat's such as their grades, win to loss ratio but most importantly their personal Renown level. One's personal renown provides the student with extra credits in their grades, leeway towards some disciplinary actions, as well as a visible way to discern how powerful a student and his Servant may be. Each level of ones own Renown reflecting their battle effectiveness. Mostly it is a tool for personal pride, built to encourage dueling. But effectively, for the more observant students it is a tool used to discern how strong a master and his or her servant may be. Renown levels start at zero and end with a total of five ranks.

Neutral Zone's: Neutral zone's are areas in the school where fighting is extremely prohibited, disciplinary actions include but are not limited to detention, loss of renown, or immediate expulsion.

Church, Library, Infirmary, any classroom or active class.


Characters

Characters can be one of three types: A Teacher (Where there is a limited number of openings.) Student, or Servant. All Servant's are considered powerful and of more or less equal power. (Unless said player wishes to make a weaker servant.) Phantasm's and Noble Phantasm's are to be discussed with me via PM for approval.  If your playing a Servant then you have these choices as to your Servants class:

1:Saber
2:Archer
3:Lancer
4:Rider
5:Caster
6:Assasin
7:Berserker

And these new class options:
8:Shielder (Defensive like Servants. Not very hard hitting, but take a beating.)
9:Tactician (Non/Semi combative Servants with Support focused Noble Phantasm's.)

Ruler class being the tenth, however there can only be one Ruler class Servant at any given time and that one belongs to the Dean of the school.

The Naginata which helped raise the first Land Mass. A heavenly weapon decorated with jewels, Amenonuhoko has the unique ability to create land out of water should Jingu's tears drip into the body of water from the polearm. When in combat, Amenonuhoko binds with Jingu to increase the potency of her attacks. For every swing of thrust she makes, Amenonuhoko will send a blast of force at the direction of where Jingu would want to hit. A swing or slash increases the arc of force, while a thrust concentrates Amenonuhoko's blast into a concentrated point. While unable to deal much physical damage against strong enemies, Jingu uses Amenonuhoko to knock them off balance to create an opening for her next strike.

Seinarukaze: The Blessed Wind, Anti-Unit, Rank C
A gust of wind surrounds Jingu, blessing her with the power of the Shinto. With the power of the land and all that is material aiding her, Jingu's healing and mana regenration from her master gain a bonus. The more living things like plants and animals around, the greater the bonus multiplier. This effect comes into play when Jingu is out of combat.

Kamikaze: The Divine Wind, Anti-Army, Rank B
The mighty Typhoons which defeated the Mongol Hordes, now summoned by the Empress to defeat her enemies. Two massive Typhoon converge onto each other, sucking up every target in a huge area before colliding and collapsing upon itself, destroying everything caught in it's path. Meant to defeat masses of grunts and insignificant troops, the greater the quality of those caught in the Kamikaze, the lesser the effect. Against a Heroic Spirit, the effect is near negligable.

Shinden: Magnificent Lightning, Anti-Fortress, Rank A+
Jingu's Naginata begins to spark with lightning, as Jingu's body enters a state of purity from the Earth and Spirits, discarding her human self and transcending records into a Legendary figure. Jingu literally moves like a flash of lightning, quicker than anyone could normally anticipate. If her enemies weren't struck down with despair from the magnificence and glory of her pure self, her Naginata would surely punish them for their folly.

Bio:
Jingu was born in the Year 169AD in Ancient Japan. As a consort to the Emperor Chuai of Yamato, Jingu served as a loyal servant and consort, often entertaining the Emperor at the end of the day. One day, Jingu spoke of a prophecy of a promised land, which the Yamato would conquer and harvest it's great riches. Chuai ignored her and denounced the gods, who cursed him never to see his most precious. Soon, Jingu found herself with child, but before the Prince could be born, Emperor Chuai passed on, cursed by the gods.
Leading onwards towards the prophecy, Jingu led an army of Yamato into the land of Korea, where she conquered and pacified great swathes of territory, bringing prosperity and greatness to Yamato.
Jingu ruled until she reached an age of a hundred years old, when the gods called their priestess-empress back to the lands. She passed on lying on the grass of the Imperial Garden, content with her life and giving glory to the spirits. It was then that Jingu became one with the spirits and the earth.

Likes and Dislikes:
Likes eating food, lots of it. Likes traditional clothes, and all Japanese-themed clothing. Likes drinking tea and sweet alcohol. Likes taking hot baths. Likes Japanese idol groups.
Dislikes the undead or anything unnatural as it violates the Shinto. Dislikes male chauvinism. Dislikes lazing around doing nothing. Dislikes cheap cuisine.

Personality:
In general, Lancer is a kind person to her master, but merciless towards her enemies. Extremely bound by duty and honour, Lancer goes about what is ordered of her with a stoic demeanor, full of determination to achieve what is requested of her. Lancer enjoys the company of her comrades in her past life, as well as any new companions she might make. Lancer's compassionate nature means that she cannot stand cruelty. Lancer hates the undead, especially vampires, who are abominations in her eyes, violating the core tenets of the Shinto where living things and the natural earth are to be preserved.
Due to her personality, some might say that Lancer is more arbitrary than just. This is inaccurate in the sense that Saber's morals lean more to the strong helping the weak, and drawing from compassion to create a deontological moral compass. However, Lancer has no qualms in crushing weak enemies at will should they force her hand, instead of knowing their place, which is far, far away from her presence.
Lancer remains calm in most situations, and her stature calls for a sense of authority and confidence when dealing with others.
However, she does not like it when other characters focus their attention on her female body, preferring that they appreciate her martial skills with the Naginata.

Personality: Anton is a carefree rebellious spirit with stubborn streak, he has gangster personality all bred deep into his bone. However despite rough surface, he has soft heart for children and animals which he hides and for crying girls and women. If their cute he flirts without shame with full bravado and confidence he has build being a charmer since young age! He likes think himself as gentleman but in anger (which can be sparked quickly) he can forget gentleman manners quickly. He is violent and sort who likes settle disputes with violence than words (he never hits girl unless they hit him first, as matter of personal code of honor).

Background: Anton (no last name known) was raised in Moscow streets as orphan who's mother had died on fever and he had ran off from orphanage because cruel and cold headmistress in there. In streets he was easily swayed to life of crime and recruited overtime to Russian mafia and become low ranked mobster serving a mafia family. He dealed (and used) drugs in streets. He kept self-control in use of drugs, never take too much nor get strongly addicted to stuff. He killed first person in age of fourteen and he had killed since then many times with gun, knife or even fist (later one once during drunken rampage).

Anton was otherwise unremarkable person, his group got involved with a magus unintended manner as magus was digging on stuff what mafia was not comfortable for outsider to dig in. So he and boys were send to deal with magus whom they thought was just arrogant foreigner digging in libraries and researching mafia activities (not knowing magus was tracking down a russian family heirloom which wound up to mafia's black market and sold to someone). Anton and his gang had no chance as magus conjured a golem from earth and it butchered Anton's crew....however when golem was about crush Anton into pulp, his magic circuits activated in him without his own input and he destroyed the golem with single anger fueled blow!

Magus Christina Einzbern who was present on said event knocked Anton out with a spell and kidnapped him for study, checking which magus family had mafia connections but despite careful research and comparing his blood to all known magus families of present era, Anton was odd case out. What's more he has high natural magical circuit amount but what's more curious; his magic circuits have been merged with another magus! A dead magus at that! So in essence doubling up his magic circuit capacity even if other half was 'haunted' as magus theorized.

It means the haunted part reacted to mortal danger targeting Anton....and thus lumbering magic circuits were awakened by force by the will of the deceased magus and empowered Anton in most simplest primal ways. As Christina questioned Anton, he told only person whom he was close in mental, spirit and body was his mother. He was very close to his mother and he was still traumatized with her loss, pain still being there deep in his psyche as constantly nagging wound in his head (and heart). Christina summarized that Anton had fused his magic circuits with his sick mother to extend her life....but did not disconnect them. Normally such thing kills other magus, but mother was perhaps more self-aware than Anton was about the connection and she made arrangements so her magic circuits carried out as extra reserve package for Anton to tap in, but in return having little to no control in regards when and where said reserve awakens to use.

Overall situation was fascinating and more so Anton's natural magic circuits matched with even best of lineages of the date (and surpassing them with his reserve if he can tap on it). However his magecraft is clumsy and primal, the method how he had shattered golem was simply using his magic circuits infused on his blood increase his speed and strenght and merely allow access 100% of human strenght for brief moment (most trained of athlete's tap only up to 40% of human body's true strenght and potential).

Christina told Anton about his potential and innocently offered him sponsored for new and better life as magus.....with condittion he signs up to Fuyuki Academy to learn magecraft and use his magic. He agreed, as even if he was content as mobster, he did prefer more better things in life than being low ranked thug in service of mafia. However Christina did not tell how deadly Fuyuki Academy was; as sending unprepared Anton in there is all a personal sadistic test of theory to her; to see can innate potential, beat learned potential in academy grounds!

Extra's: Likes dancing, techno music, drinking, enjoying drugs and partying. Besides that likes race with fast cars and vechiles (and would collect them if rich enough), he is excited about magic and wants to learn (albeit his own stubborn hot tempered nature can get best of him).

Role: Servant (Archer, dual classification as assassin)

Personality: Simo is a humble and simple man who takes enjoyment from small things in life, surprising for man like him he values life and respects it. He enjoys solitude and has no trouble spending time just himself but he is social when meeting people and welcomes company. He dislikes bullies and arrogant people and he has lots patience and tolerance but when angered he can react pretty strongly about the matter in hand when triggered. However he is capable shut out his kinder emotions and become cold-hearted efficient killer on a switch, brush everything aside for 'duty' and when 'something must be done' for sake of his country (or his master). He is strongly patriotic soul in regards of his country of origin and has strong dislike for russians.

Background: Simo Häyhä was summoned by Holy Grail near to the Fuyuki city, wandering around confused and working with his poor english skills until he encountered a mage who understood who and what he was. The mage then helped get Simo Häyhä employed in Fuyuki Academy as a groundskeeper for academy's one training areas which is in wilderness (and functions also as recreational park area). He had worked on his Japanese skills to point he can talk fluently if with recognizable accent. Only academy staff knows his full story and what hero he was in life and because he is closest to modern age as spirits go (lived up to 20th century), so he is source of curious study by some mages who knows his secret.

But to students he is one groundskeepers and he keeps low profile of himself. However he is compassionate soul and he dislikes the method how school brutally allows students killing each other?! That he does not accept personally, conflict with no other purpose than competition alone. So he may get bonded to mage if situation would present itself that mage needs help and then even if he lacks 'magic' his skills as a sniper and also as modern soldier familiar with all modern methods of conflict are second to none compared to any other heroic spirit.
