I recently got my hands on an old copy of C&C: Tiberian Sun, the pinnacle of GDI & NOD's war if you ask me and I've been replaying it. Right before that I was playing some Starcraft II. Then today I was on the bus....when suddenly: idea!

The two have a lot that can be brought together, certainly for the basis of a plot. A discovery of Tiberium might cause the Zerg to mutate into something new, while also gaining the attention of the Brotherhood of NOD whom might journey across the stars after dealing with the Scrin to obtain more of their precious Tiberium, Jim Raynor would likely not be too impressed by an armed cult dropping in to spread their fanatacism. GDI arrives to deal with Kane, Dominion consider them all a threat. Nevermind what happens when the Protoss find out the Zerg are mutating and the "tiberium" that's fueling it is used as a weapon by this "Brotherhood of Nod" group running around.

That's one idea. Could always go for something a bit different, perhaps the Dominion ends up allied to the GDI only to realize afterwards their allies aren't what they expected, Raynor's Raiders find their new pals NOD aren't all that interested in fighting oppression to much as religous based domination!

Players would likely take up notable Commanders (OC in general?) of their chosen faction, or particularly capable soldiers/pilots etc and we all help fight the zerg while other alliances crumble.

Epic idea! Crossovers don't normally interest me very much but this one is a big exception.

Excellent, now we hope some others take interest and perhaps they even have some suggestions for a plot, and characters of course!

Destiny Ascension

Woooow, now this sounds interesting! Though I'll admit, my C&C knowledge doesn't go far beyond mild interest and having played Generals to death, but this sounds like an awesome idea. Color me interested!

Primarch

Oh fantastic! I suppose all you'd really need to know about the Tiberian Sun universe of C&C is about NOD & GDI.

GDI & Brotherhood of NOD.

So you can take a look at them to get an idea, course you'll find everything in the wiki if you fancy looking!

Do people have a preference on a plot set up?

StarCraft Humans, Protoss, NOD & GDI on a shaky alliance as they fight a losing war against Tiberium mutated Zergs?

Factions from either game are paired up and war breaks out across the stars?

Maybe a much smaller story, a number of individuals fighting in either above mentioned conflict are left stranded and need to rely on each other to survive? Maybe their making a heroic last stand, defending the remnants of a town as zerg come at them day after day or night after night?

Vostroya

I think the alliance is a good idea, with the war going against the zerg going well with the alliance in tact but before they can claim victory they are pushed back and are now on the run with the remnants of their armies trying to survive.

summoner2183

Need you ask? Of course I am interested!

Primarch

So we got 5 people? That's good. In fact its enough to represent all five factions if we were so interested.
GDI, NOD, Protoss, Dominion & Raynor's Raiders.

But lets not tie people down to trying to represent a different faction, consider characters you'd enjoy playing! Personally I'm considering a Dominion Ghost who's defected to the Raiders, or perhaps a NOD Black Hand Commander.

I was thinking a GDI fleet commander myself.

Now its either a Terran Marine or Raynor's Raider Ghost for me! '_' oh the decisions.

Okay, the plot.
TL;DR at the bottom

On the planet of Mirana (yep, that's exactly the reference you think it is!), a scenic if out of the way world, locals became aware of a strange crystalline substance. Some months later its making the local population sick & the Dominion doesn't seem overtly keen on spending the resources that would be required to provide medical equipment & evac to a world of low production and profit capabilities. The situation goes from bad to worst when the Zerg arrive. The Dominion weren't interested in helping, but Jim Raynor certainly was. Raynor's Raiders arrived and started to push back the Zerg, until something happened. While the strange crystal make local Terrans sick, it mutated the zerg. The brood was stronger then ever before. The Raider's were losing ground and fighting men faster then they could evacuate the population. Thing's were looking back until a charismatic Commander of an unknown group revealed himself and broadsided the Zerg. He introduced himself as Kane, and his forces were the Brotherhood of NOD. Having succeeded in "Ascending" NOD, Kane brought his followers through the stars to a large, lush galaxy, free from the oppression of GDI and growing increasingly rich in Tiberium.

Between NOD & the Raider's the evacuation was a success, if a costly one. Things got even better as Kane revealed himself to be not only a master of this crystal, which he explained as "Tiberium" but also a military genius and media master. The Raider's & NOD were orchestrating anti-Dominion propaganda and getting the people up in arms. The fight was going well, but Jim was growing concerned that Kane appeared to be the next Mengsk. He just might have gotten into bed with the Devil.

Meanwhile the Dominion was losing at every turn. His military was losing to the combined forces of NOD & Raynor and the tiberium mutated Zerg Brood was ravaging the outer colonies, he was being destroyed by propaganda. His salvation came in the form of a NOD defector, a Black Hand Grand Confessor who believed Kane's promised land was little more then a fresh battlefield to die on. Not only did this traitor have valuable data on the nature of Tiberium but he had the co-ordinates on the origin world of NOD. Soon enough Mengsk was in contact with a planet that designated itself as "Earth" and the GDI. They were only too eager to trade Dominion technology on AI and space engineering for information on NOD & troops to help fight.

General Warfield of the Dominion & General Solomon of the GDI made brutal counter-attacks against Raynor's Raiders & NOD, whom were now caught in between the Dominion/GDI Alliance & the Brood.

The very worst of the fighting would be on Tarsonis, as if the world hadn't suffered enough. Tarsonis developed the single largest mass of Tiberium in the galaxy at the center of the planet's single continent. The Dominion/GDI Alliance were using it to develop WMD's that could be used to clean entire worlds of Zerg infestation. NOD knew of the types of weapons the GDI would unleash if successful and moved to take the asset, Raynor's Raiders had to move to assist. The situation became complicated when the Zerg arrived and started to re-infest the planet. The incoming Brood cut off essential supplies from off world, including food and water. The only way to for either faction to get off the world was to control the Tiberium fields and develop weapons to penetrate the Zerg force.

With such a risk of Zerg infestation & increasing their threat via Tiberium mutation....the Protoss could not allow the risk. The world would need to be purged.

*****
TL;DR
GDI & Dominion are allies.
NOD & Raynor's Raiders are allies.
Zerg & Protoss want to burn EVERYTHING
Fighting on planet 'Tarsonis,' planet has 1 continent and at its center is the largest source of Tiberium (mega fuel, amazing weapons application) in the galaxy.
Zerg Brood & Protoss fleet are making getting supplies (like food and water) onto the world impossible, as is leaving. Only way off world is to control the Tiberium field & make weapons to open a gap in Zerg/Protoss so ships can get in/out.

Game will feature fighting to control Tiberium field but also RP in HQ's/safehouses/bases/Capital ships etc etc for downtime and the like.

And before somebody asks, yes you can play a Protoss allied to the Raiders, you don't have to be part of the fleet to purify Tarsonis.

summoner2183

Name: Andrew Suskind
Faction: Brotherhood of NOD
Character Role: Black Hand Strategist/Field Intelligence Officer
Skills: Strong Analytical Skills, Smart Mind, and Good with Diplomacy
Equipment: A Nod issued handgun, as well as a field intelligence kit, as well as a field interrogation kit for him to interogate any possible enemied of the Brotherhood.
Special Traits: He is almost fanatical towards Kane, though his devotion to NOD's leader is not as great as many of NOD's followers.
Appearance: Andrew stands at 6 feet and is built leanly. He has short brownish red hair that he always keeps neatly trimmed and short. He has warm almond eyes and he is never without a red strapped wristwatch on his left wrist.

Personality: Andrew is a warm and friendly person, which serves him well as a Field Intelligence Officer. He is known to make friends to almost anybody, which would prove to be a good asset to the Brotherhood since he is able to play the occasional diplomat when Kane asks him to. He is quite devoted towards his brothers and sisters in NOD, and is easily angered when any of them got hurt. He is also bears a deep hatred for the GDI and what they represent... as well as a deep seated resentment to any of the Kovacs within the brotherhood for their ancestor's role in killing one of the Brotherhood's greatest commanders, one General Kilian Qatar, whom he thought to be one of the greatest strategic minds in the Brotherhood.

Backstory: Andrew was the next of the Suskind family to serve Kane and the Brotherhood. His ancestor, one Lia Suskind had defected from the hated GDI after being fascinated by Kane himself and his mystique. Like her, he was born with a sharp mind and he is quick to absorb all the things that his parents taught him. By his early teens, he had already integrated into NOD's intelligence corps, where he is considered a prodigy and a rising star amongst his peers. When he graduated, he was given the honor of entering the Black Hand, where he survived the rigorous training and emerged as one of the top few graduates from the Academy.

After Kane found the universe, he was brought along towards the planet as one of NOD's stratetic planning team as well as the Intelligence Division where his strong suit is. He felt proud for being chosen and is eager to prove to Kane that his devotion towards the Brotherhood and Kane himself is as strong as his ancestor's was.

Does your story assume that the UED never existed / never visited the Koprulu sector?  Essentially ... did the "Brood War" still happen?  For that matter, is this pre-SC2?  Does Kerrigan control the Zerg, or the Overmind? ... or neither?

Primarch

Name: Jean-Luc McTyr
Faction: Raynor's Raiders
Character Role: Ghost
Skills: Advanced Training in Sniping, CQC, Target Spotting, Stealth, Infiltration & Exfiltration, vehicle expertise
Equipment: Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle, Hostile Environment Suit & Moebius Reactor, Target Spotter, Combat Knife
Special Traits: Psionic, like all Ghost's Augustus is a psychic. Like Nova Terra & likely Sarah Kerrigan, he rates a 10 on the Psi Index making him Raynor's most powerful psychic.
Something Special: Augustus transports himself in a stolen & re-purposed NOD Attack Bike.
Appearance:

When not wearing HSE
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Personality: Jean-Luc is approachable and sociable for a Ghost, a trait perhaps due to the less soul crushing and de-humanizing training methods of Raynor's Raiders over the Dominion. When not spending all day buried under a camo-jacket waiting for the perfect shot or getting a target lock to drop a nuke he enjoys kicking back with his fellow Raiders with a cold brew. He generally only has a few however as he isn't fond of anything that clouds his mind. When the time comes for work however Jean-Luc has shown ruthless efficiency. He is eternally grateful to the Raiders as they only ask he neutralize targets that deserve a bullet in the brain.

Backstory: After Nova Terra provided Jim Raynor the capabilities and technology to train Ghost's in exchange for aiding in taking down Tosh, Jean-Luc was among the first Ghost's trained for the Raiders. Liberated from a Ghost Program training facility before the eventual mind-wipe. Since then Jean-Luc has taken part in every major Raider mission, taking out key targets when they expose themselves, thinning out infantry or calling in the co-ordinates for a tactical nuclear strike. As one of the more successful recruits to the Raider Ghost Program he has taken part in training future recruits to a limited capacity.

Most recently he was sent to take part in the fighting on Tarsonis, where his expert skills might be put to good use.

For the purpose of the amalgamation I'd suggest assume SC's Earth & C&C's Earth are two separate planets. Perhaps originally colonised by some ancient race that wanted to experiment on specie development with similar starting points or some such.

After SC2, somewhere vaguely in between the Wings of Liberty & Heart of the Swarm. Currently there is no clear Leader to the brood. It can be assumed until further notice the Brood attacking Tarsonis is the single largest of the splinter broods following Kerrigan's defeat on Char.

Hmm, kinda interested. How exactly would this go? GM running stuff for the players, or more of an 'everyone has PCs and everyone does everything, together'?

If I'm needed to post somewhere, PLEASE PM me about it. Sometimes I lose track of threads and need to be reminded about things.

Primarch

For the most part I'd like it to be player driven and player initiated, but there probably would be a certain amount of structure needed to be provided on my part.

Latooni Subota

Ah, nevermind then. I prefer heavier structured games, with more GM control. Hope you guys have fun.

Name: Alexei Petrov
Faction: GDI
Character Role: GDI Black Operations Commander/WMD expert/GDI Intelligence
Skills: Expert Engineer, Wet Work Specialist, Master of Disguise, Stealth, Infiltration
Equipment: Dual pistols, Light armor, Stealth suit, Assault rifle
Special Traits: Photographic memory
Something Special: Has served as a Spy within multiple organizations outside of GDI, giving him good knowledge of NOD and other terrorist organizations.
Appearance:

Personality: Calm and collected at most times as his experience has taught him, Alexei is trained to handle his emotions down to an art form. On the downside when he is able to be emotional he tends to have outbursts of anger or sarcasm due to having it pent up in his mind. Tends to stay in the background or in the shadows as his favorite spots to sit or stand. He does not like being in the lime light or to be noticed.

Backstory: As a child Alexei showed almost genius level intelligence. His photographic memory and well socialized brain allowed him to function better than others who had one gift but a debilitating downside to their genius. He earned several master degrees in various fields and was quickly recruited to join GDI as a weapons expert. His skills were impressive but another skill soon revealed itself, one day he was curious and joined the training program for the spy network. He found that what was only a curiosity quickly grew into being one of the best infiltrators in GDI. Numerous times during the various wars Alexei infiltrated NOD's research bases and small scale facilities to bring back innate knowledge and intelligence on NOD WMD weapons. Using this knowledge in GDI weapons development research a new branch of intelligence was created. Bringing together the best WMD experts and scientists to create WMD's for GDI that could strike at NOD's heart. With the new advent of the war with NOD and the Raiders and the units fold in with the Dominion, Alexei's team found themselves acting with almost impunity and funds to develop weapons against the Zerg threats.

#24
Name: David Morris
Faction: Dominion
Character Role: Reaper
Skills: Close Combat Training, Guerrilla Warfare Training, Hit and Run Attack Expert,
Equipment: Reaper Armor and Jetpack, Two P-55 "Scythe" pistols, D-8 charges, U-238 Rounds, G-4 Cluster Bombs
Special Traits:  Enhanced Reflexes, Enhanced Aggression
Something Special: Spider Mines: David has 'borrowed' several spider mines from the armory
Appearance:
Personality: David is a very strong willed individual, he rarely if ever allows himself to be talked out of something he sets his mind to. He loves to fight and has often been the cause behind many a bar room brawl.
Backstory:
David was born on Lakius. Where he spent most of his childhood getting into trouble and then fighting or smooth talking his way out of it. That is, until one night he got himself into so much trouble that there was no getting out of it. He was sent to prison, sentenced to rot for his crimes.

After about a years worth of jail time, David was 'recruited' into the Dominion military. And following his neural resocilization he was scheduled to become a marine. But the resoc didn't stick, for what ever reason David's mind was resistant to it and so instead of being sent to train as a marine he was sent to The Dominion's reaper training facility. Known as  The Icehouse. He was trained, and his reflexes and aggressive tendencies were enhanced.

In order to go free again he must now serve two years before being discharged. He is on his 3rd month and constantly does his best not to think about the fact that so far the The Reaper Corps failed to have a single recruit complete more than six months of service.

I was looking at my marine today and realize he wasn't really a fit for the game :S SO I wound up deciding to go with another idea I had, hope he works better?
