Speed is life, and life is speed. Fast bike, fast mouth, fast hands. Fast living, streaking towards a quick and painless death. Zero to sixty in you missed it; three shots in the 10-ring in under a second.

Jace lives for the rush, getting there first, getting it done fast, getting off first. Sure, she's a little brainburned- who isn't, these days? The stims just make her faster, make her candle burn brighter. Courier, escort, last-second cavalry- whatever. As long as it's fast, and preferably loud, she's there. Smaller than most of the rest of the crew, physically far less impressive, she's the rabbit who's always late, the cat who vanishes when you blink, leaving behind just a grin.

This is why you're amazing!!!!
I love her already.

Ok so my first, rough, draft for a character. Can edit and probably will add more to it :)

Emma-Lynn, or Em for friends, is perhaps the example that made the saying Still waters run deep. She's quiet and reserved and used to be a bit of a loner. The city is in need of heroes though and with her superfast racing bike, Em was soon recruited in the rebellion.

She is a survivor, having managed to survive the rough streets alone for years, picking up skills here and there. Emma has made it a skill to remain unseen for as long as possible, opting for stealth over brute force. Equipped with a long range rifle and a fast bike, she is the ideal scout and is often assigned on overwatch. Despite this, she's very capable of using smaller firearms as well. Makes for a terrible melee fighter.

Despite the quietness and reservation and sneaking skills, she can be funny up to a point where she's just bat-shit crazy and very social towards friends. Her strong sense of justice also makes her want to help people as much as she can which was one of the main reasons she has joined the rebellion.
Yes! I like this concept. I especially love the face claim, I always thought she was a cutie.

Yay :D

Gonna improve her some more, don't worry.

Really excited about this :P

I don't need to fight to prove I'm right and I don't need to be forgiven.

Don't worry about that! This is just the application stage, creating concepts so I can make a girl gang that can blow this story out of the water. Tis why I started small to begin with. I'm about to finish up the world building thread and open the recruitment thread soon. During that time, you can submit a few profile or just use your concept for met to look at. I don't want anyone getting too committed if another person is picked.

Geeklet

This is kind of what I am thinking right now:

She was a mechanic, and as much as she loved anything with a motor, her parents forbade her from joining up with any of the local gangs. On her way home one day, a gunfight spilled out into the street. She was put in the hospital for severe trauma, and her family couldn't afford to pay the bills. Who came to the rescue? It wasn't the government, the police, or any other 'reputable' charity organization, but the gang. Though one of her arms and part of a leg couldn't be saved, they helped outfit her with cybernetic replacements. To pay off the debt, she is now working for them, but is it really work when you are doing something you love?

As far as the character appearance, I'm torn between the following:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Going from fun and flirty, to the more serious and badass

I knew this, how silly am I

Ok, My concept is this:

Wealthy 26 year old. A precocious youngster with a rebellious nature. She is a technological savant, and was able to study in state of the art facilities, an expertise in mechanics, and engineering. With the tech available to her in the future that the game is set in, she can basically build anything she wants by '3D printing' parts for things that are no longer manufactured. When she was 22, she finally did what she always wanted to do, escape the system. She freed herself from the grid, and ran away, vanishing and starting her own underground custom vehicle garage. She stole money from her family and started her illegal business. She is capable of making custom vehicles with the future tech in the game. And she is also capable of recreating old models of vehicles incase someone has a preference for the classics.

In this motorcycle gang, I'd like her to be the tank. For, she doesn't drive a motorcycle, she drives a car that she built. This character has a death wish, and the only thing that really matters to her is being able to drive faster than anyone is capable of driving, she loves racing, she loves being dangerous. She's an adrenaline junky that lives for the moment when she's on the razors edge of a road, about to fly off into a canyon. Her car will be heavier than anything else on the road, making it perfect for a lot of special tasks, blocking traffic, knocking over gates/fences/barriers,crashing pursuers, and protecting the rest of the gang from other dangers on the road. She can also move heavy equipment if needed to. She will essentially be the pack mule, and moving garage for the gang. Her car will have enough gear in it to make on the spot repairs for most issues. The only thing she can't really fit is extra tires. She still has a few of them, but only for emergencies.

It bothers her that motorcycles are faster than cars. And she's always tinkering trying to make her tank superior in every way.
Faceclaim: Ashley Frangipane

Also, your face claim is a hottie. I googled her. I couldn't even tell she was biracial(black/white). She's so beautifully ambiguous.

#57
Max "If you call me Maxine, I'll break your legs" is known as Reaper to everyone she doesn't consider a friend, which is pretty much anyone who isn't in the gang.  She earned her nickname when she was still in school, selling her services as a bodyguard to the smaller, more timid students who were the target of bullies.  Her lucrative career led her to further develop her fighting prowess once she left school, and home.  Her infamous bullheaded nature served her well, and gained her a reputation in the boxing ring.  She refused to stay down.  No matter how bloody and broken she was, if she was conscious, she was on her feet and raring for more.  At this point, she's survived being shot twice, two wrecks, a handful of knife fights and more brawls than she can count, and all of this has earned her a measure of respect and fear in the average person.  Some think she really is death, others suspect her of being Satan, and still others believe she is synthetic, but none of these people would be foolish enough to accuse her of any of this to her face.

Special skills: Brawling, knives, riding, shit-talk, patience, drinking

Dislikes:  Bullies, blowhards, the deliberately ignorant, the pointlessly angry, 'victims', wealthy idiots, law enforcement

Edit:  I like #2 as well, Geeklet.  But, any are good.  All of these concepts are great!

GM Annoucement

So, a few things before I make the recruitment thread.

1. I decided with "The Athenians" as the name of the girl gang. If this name doesn't appeal to you, what would you suggest? I'm open to anything.
2. As I'm making area's of interest for both the central part of Organa City & the Slums, what are some things you think that would make the game a bit more fun.

As an added - drugs will probably play a big part. So this game will definitely be in the Extreme Small Groups area. I hope that doesn't make anyone turn away.

NPCs: Yannis Organa will definitely be one of them. I'm also looking into A few police grunts, side characters, and other very central characters to the story. If you have any suggestions as well, I'd love to hear it.

I think we need a headquarters or something. A place where the girls either live together or spend most of the time if they don't live in the same building. Maybe an old abandoned theatre or something?

I'm good with the extreme small groups.

One thing though, as advice, feel free to ignore it, you said you wanted 7 or 8 characters. I have no idea how much we are at now but generally I find that 7 or 8 is too much for a smooth group game unless you have players that can really make the game work without the GM in their 'party'.
Out here in the fields, I fight for my meals and I get my back into my living.

I don't need to fight to prove I'm right and I don't need to be forgiven.

Its going to be 8 players including MC. This is why it's an application process and not a first come first served. I was originally going to go with six, but I like eight more. And don't worry about the headquarters, I already got that down! :)

How about the garage where Alias keeps her Mad Maxine tank? :D

I made the headquarters that is disguised as a bar, with their meet up place and garage in the back. But that also sounds like a neat idea! :)

Also, everyone - keep in mind they're not all going to be able to afford top of the line cycles. But perhaps old models or dumped models they managed to fix up.

And yeah, I don't mean to imply that Jace's ride is in cherry condition- the problem is, ANY kind of futuristic bike artwork you find is likely to be pretty glossy. Hers is dinged and knocked up, and probably painted a lot darker, to blend in on the streets at night. But it's mostly a frame, two wheels and a HUGE f'ing engine, low, sleek, and faster than hell.

Doomsday

Mmhmm, personally if I get accepted, I'd lean more into the fact that these girls are living in the oppressed underworld of the city and are working together to lift themselves out of that. Between that and a personal bias towards older style Harley's, this is what I was thinking...

Though it would be even more cobbled together looking, literally pieced together from old junk from other bikes.

Coincidentally, that bike would be exactly 200 years old in 2178, my character would call her ride 'Bicentennial girl' or something silly like that :P

I'm sort of a vehicle enthusiast. Thats why I made my girl the way she is. We don't need to be looking for futuristic bikes if we think harley's and hondas look cooler. but I'm technically just an applicant, so I'm not sure if you should bank on my mechanic or not. :p

I own four cars, I'm a petrol head to the max. My character would definately be a scout, which means she has to be fast... Harley's are not fast. :P Besides, with the possible exception of a hangover, Bigger is Better :P
