#1
Player Name: loislanekent
Real Name: Diana Prince
Age: Looks 30 (Is actually 250) Amazon years
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual (Switch)
Base of Operations: N/A (formerly New York City)
Powers: Flight, Super Strength & Speed.

Weaknesses: Magic and pysch attacks. Diana is physically the strongest woman on the planet. She can withstand much however The Gods ALLWAYS design a flaw and she can be killed by those who created her. Sometimes her Amazonian pride can be a great weakness to her.

History:

Wonder Woman is the Amazonian princess Diana; the daughter of the Amazonian Queen Hippolyta and the Olympian god Zeus. While the Amazons traditionally procreated by raping and then murdering sailors who happened too close to their island, Hippolyta was supposed to have been barren. Legend told that Diana was born of her mother's strong desire for a child, a lump of clay brought to life in the form of a girl; the perfect Amazon, as she was born of no man. The truth, though, was that Hippolyta had had an affair with Zeus, and Diana's real parentage was hidden in order to protect the Queen and her daughter from the wrath of Zeus' notoriously jealous wife Hera. As such, Diana's power was inherited through her divine blood.

Zeus had gone missing, and his wife Hera, in her jealousy, had discovered that yet another child had been conceived by her husband's dalliances with mortal women. The mortal woman in question was Zola, a woman living alone in the country, who was utterly surprised when Hera sent creatures to attack and kill her. Fortunately, she was rescued thanks to the efforts of Hermes, who sent her to request help from Wonder Woman. For safety's sake, Diana took Zola and Hermes to the island of Themyscira, home of the Amazons to beg protection from her mother, who warned that protecting one of Zeus' bastards from Hera would be no simple task. Before long, Hera sent her daughter Strife to do her will. Diana managed to prevent her from manipulating the Amazons into killing each other, but, she was surprised to learn that she and Strife were sisters - a revelation brought to light by the power of the Lasso of Truth.

Activity:

Leaving Themyscira for the first time in her life, Diana comes to New York and is an immediate cultural icon to its people. But as Diana grows closer and more in touch with the outside world, she's not sure if she can carry out her Amazon duties. Nicknamed Wonder Woman by Trevor when she's seen in action, Diana slowly finds herself stepping in as guardian to a race she has vowed to conquer.

Equipment: Lasso of Truth, Bracelets of Submission.

Are you looking to stick to traditional Justice League members, or would any DC character work?
"You fight for the wizard?" Black Adam

"I fight for those who can't fight for themselves." Superman

jacobjon

I'm not sure. I'm interested in traditional league members like Superman and Green Arrow, but I also like non-traditional characters like Dr. Fate.

Name: Anastasia (Anna) Valentine
Alias: Super Gal
Age: 21
Sex: Female
Sexuality: Unknown
Extra: Heels
Role Play: Comic Verse
Style: Miscellaneous (Predominantly Free Form + Chapter Base)
Back Story:

Anastasia (Anna) Valentine was born human and grew up as such for most of her youth, until turning nineteen when she was forced to endure a rather nasty bolt of Pink and purple lightning striking her from the sky. Anna continued with her college studies, trying to put the sudden lightning strike behind her and with time gone by she was able to do just that. Months had gone by without incident, a freak accident put in the past until a single incident changed her life forever. The incident had been on the six o'clock news that very evening, a truck driver falling asleep at the wheel and tumbles off a cliff. The truck exploding into a fiery wreck as the driver miraculously survives. No one knew it had been Anna, nor had she been able to explain her growing powers as time went on. The college girl used her new found powers for fun and convenience at first, before taking on a persona to deter people from knowing whom it was who had been saving people from various accidents and incidents.

Unconsciously, Anna took up the weight and burden of protecting her city. That weight slowly began to bring down her grades as well as taking a rather huge chunk out of her personal life. And with her new found powers and behind declared a super hero by the public, evil had emerged to make her life even more difficult. Anna discovered her powers to resemble that of Superman and others as well as having the same weakness to Kryptonite. However, her strengths and powers are far less potent than that of the renown caped hero. The truth unknown to her, but has speculated through her experiences that the bolt of lightning was an experiment and she was an unnatural bastardized version of a Kryptonian. Kryptonite however has a far less powerful effect on her, only causing her health and fitness to be reduced to her previously normal human self.

But this was not her only weakness, with the discovery of an element resembling Kryptonite designated "Clitonite". Much like how Kryptonite would weaken and could kill a Kryptonian, Clitonite renders Anna much the same way with a slight difference. Instead of weakening her to the point of death, the pink crystal-like object sexually arouses as well as weakens to a point of debilitation.

Anna refers to herself as "Super Gal", obviously not too imaginative but seems adequate for the abilities she sports. She also resembles Super Girl some what, wearing blue red and gold as well as a pair of high heels as well as make up. This began as a good way to deter people from believing "Super Gal" was Anna and help in reassuring people she wasn't "Super Girl".

Powers:

Kryptonian (Bastardized)

Flight: Anna is able to fly at a maximum of about 75 knots.
Super Strength: Her strength is one of her most formidable aspects, able to lift and toss a plane or even cruise ship... though not without stress.
Super Speed: Even though her top flight speed isn't excessively fast, her combat speed has her hands and feet blurred to the naked eye (though still visible).
Super Tough: She is able to withstand quite a punishment, though fatigue catches even the greatest of warriors.

Other Powers

Healing Ray: With a great deal of focus, Anna can mend wounds with the aide of the sun's rays.
Dream Weaver: For some unknown reason, Anna is able to take full control of herself in a dream state and leap into other people's dreams.
Void Soul: Due to previous experiences with her rival and nemesis, Anna is able to "transform" into a more powerful state.

Weaknesses:

Kryptonite: Weakens the young lady, reverting her back to a normal early twenties girl when within fifteen feet of a crystal.
Clitonite: Renders her strength, afflicting her at roughly fifteen feet by causing her to feel drowsy. The closer it becomes the more dire ailments affect her, such as stimulating her sensitive areas. Close enough to be holding Clitonite would have her falling to her knees and resisting a desperate need for pleasure, left long enough at close proximity would have her going mad or even climaxing without even a single touch.
Healing Ray: Requires a great deal of focus and sunlight while also leaving Anna Fatigued.
Dream Weaver: Anna must remain asleep and anything that happens to Anna within a dream state, reflects back on her true self.
Void Soul: Being able to shatter her soul grants her a great deal of power, though only for a limited time. The post-effects leave the heroine a regular girl until her soul pieces back together. This amount of time varies from days to even months, depending on what happens during her time Ascended.

Personality:

Anna is a smart, down to Earth sweetheart, dedicated to both work and play always trying to enjoy everything she does. She's proud, outspoken, caring and kind as well as always putting others before her own agenda. She considers herself a hopeless romantic, though seen as her peers as a bit of a prude depending on what side of the stereotype fence you're on. To the jocks, Anna comes off as a sexy tease, always enthused about the players playing their best and having fun, as well as aiding in choreographing the cheerleaders and setting up after parties. At the opposite end of the spectrum, the geeks and nerds see her as a bit of a book worm, hard at study with a flare about her. Anna is definitely an all-round youth, with the stresses and burdens of something more.

TheVillain

#14
Oooo! Trying again, eh? Well, here's an OC I've been hoping to play anyway.

Player Name: TheVillain
Superhero/villain: Quick-Draw
Real Name: Jeremiah "Blackjack" Crimshaw
Age: 29, though Quick-Draw was actually born in 1848. This is possible due to Time Travel.
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Base of Operations: The "H.G. Wells"
Powers:
- The HG Wells - Quick-Draw has access to a Time Machine developed by Vandal Savage in the year 2898. Constructed to give off a Victorian/Steampunk flavor the HG Wells is actually one of the most advanced transport vessels the human race will ever produce, even capable of even rough jaunts through Time.
- The Armory - While Quick-Draw has no inherent powers, he does have access to an armory of weapons and gadgets from up and down the timeline; including weapons and medical technology from as far into the future as the 29th century.
- Dirty, Sneaky Bastard - "Blackjack" Crimshaw is not in the habit of giving a fair fight, and has become something of an expert of using improvised and often morally questionable but effective tactics to achieve his goals.
Weaknesses:
- Just a Man - Jeremiah "Blackjack" Crimshaw is just a mortal man.
- Temporal Tramp - Jeremiah is a temporal fish-out-of-water. He can cover some of the issues that arise from this with technology, but in the end he's a 19th century person with access to 29th century technology trying to function in the 21st.
- Paradox Rider - While he does have access to a time machine, this means he's always skirting the edge of a temporal paradox. If he ever actually creates a temporal paradox, like by altering a fixed point in time that would prevent his own birth or Vandal Savage's development of Time Travel, he risks erasing himself out of existence.

History: Howdy,

Name's Crimshaw. People call me Blackjack. Don't know why, never asked. Kinda funny, really. How History worked out. The Dime Store novels say I killed my family when I was a kid. Then I went out West, started robbing Banks, Stage-Coaches, Ranchers - anyone with a lot of money that I could take from them with a Gun. Says I killed at least 40 Men while I was at it too.

Not sayin' some of it ain't true. I really did kill my Pa, I admit it. What they ain't tellin' ya is that he was tryin' to kill me at the time. And I didn't lay a finger on my sister Le-Ann, that was Pa too. More then a finger when he was liquered up.

Just sayin' it's Dime Novel stuff, they'll sing any crow if it they think it'll sell. Yeah, I robbed some banks and put some men in the ground. Served in the War of Northern Aggression too, started going west when I found out the South wasn't really any better. And some of the men I killed, some of them didn't deserve it either. I ain't sayin' I was a Good man. Just sayin' I wasn't a Monster - just a Man with a Gun. A Dead Man with Shot in my Gut when this Vandal Savage fella found me. Didn't understand everything he said, but I caught that he said he'd take me back to his ranch and patch me up if I agreed to work for him. Wasn't really in a position to refuse.

And he did more then Patched me up. He made me better then ever. Shows me things like stuff from those weird books back East. More then that, things that I thought were impossible. Things like travelling in Time like going up a river. He and others took to calling me Quick-Draw - then he put me to work. Said that a man named Despero took over the world a few hundred years after my time, that he's the reason the world in 2898 is in such a sorry state. Mr. Savage then said that his price for saving my hide was to use his ship and try and fix things, all sorts of things. I ain't saying I'm a Good Man - but some Greenhorn Dictator from Outer Space ain't got no right to take the sweat of another man's brow. Especially not from a place he ain't got no claim like another world.

I ain't sayin' I'm a Good Man, or ever going to be one. But maybe I can repay some of the bad things I've done by changin' things. Things like Despero, and other things like him - 'fore they even begin. History says that some law men tried to put together a 'Justice League' to try and stop the alien dictator. History says Despero killed em' all and strung 'em all up for tryin' as an example to everyone else.

Maybe this time, things'll be different. With a little help.

Activity: He's been trying to hide from the Martian. Events, for now, have to play out in a certain way. But Quick-Draw does intend to make his presence known, because he's got to get a big change in history ready.

In the original timeline, Despero killed the Justice League down to every last member and thousands of other people as well - just to show that he could as he then began ruling Earth with an iron first. This time though, Quick-Draw intends to change history.

Equipment: Quick-Draw's "Abilities" stem from having access to 29th century technology. So a few noteworthy gadgets include but isn't limited too-
The HG Wells: A Rudimentary Timeship
Lee-Ann: His original Revolver, modified and refined for speed and accuracy.
Danny-Boy: A 23rd century combat shotgun with incineration ammo.
Gravestones: Energy cancellation Grenades from the 25th century, named for their ability to create fields of intense cold and silence.
The Masada: A 29th Century Sonic Pulse Cannon
Nightingales: Small medical robots for healing
The Preacher: A HUD rig to assist with targeting and information gathering.
Movers: Small wristband size devices that allow for short teleportation jumps, usually used to replace gear or weapons he doesn't need and switch out with stuff he does. Or in a pinch give him a one-shot short range teleport.
His Hat: Never touch a man's hat.

Appearance without costume: Quick-Draw doesn't use a costume, that's his clothes.

My O/O's / My A/A's / My Ideas
Update - Apologies to all my partners, real life is exploding and I've gotten far behind.

Powers and Abilities
Powers
None

Abilities
Indomitable Will: Terry Heide's willpower is sufficient to command a Green Lantern ring, and is a result of his being mildly schizophrenic. When unmedicated the power of his ring is increased dramatically, and he is capable of taking on even experienced lanterns.

Green Lantern Ring Command: Terry's schizophrenia has the positive side-effect of making him a unique and extremely powerful Green Lantern, and unlike most lanterns he wears two rings, though one is a duplicate ring. His rings constantly display streams of random fantastic images images of himself. When actively using his ring, he tends to pantomime writing text with his hands which forms into the constructs described by the text, and he is especially skilled at creating fantasy creatures such as dragons and monsters.

Lantern Ring Control: Terry has the unique ability to control any lantern ring from any corps. provided that he can see it, usurping its control from its owner if his will is stronger than theirs.

Writer: Terry is a published author who writes various works of fiction, the most popular of which is a fantasy series called the Otherworlds Saga.

Weaknesses:
Without his power ring, Terry is just a normal man. He is also mildly schizophrenic, making him potentially unstable and vulnerable to telepathic attack if he goes unmedicated for too long.

Green Lantern Power Rings
The original
The Duplicate

Oan Energy Conduit: The rings use Oan energy (supplied by a Green Lantern Power Battery) which in most cases takes the form of green light. Rot Lop Fan, from a race without eyes, perceives it as the sound "F-Sharp" and his 'ring' is actually a bell. A Green Lantern's ring, considered to be one of, if not the most powerful weapon in the universe, has the ability to affect and use fundamental forces of the known universe, including gravity, radiation, heat, light, and blasts of concussive force. It is also theorized that the ring also has a basis in other dimensional energies commonly called magic by users of such energies. The ring can also create fields of force formed from an unknown energy that was bound by the users' will. The limitations of such use are the skill, knowledge and imagination of the user.

Energy Projection: The ring can be used to fire blasts of Oan energy or create weapons such as projectiles of them. The ring can project beams of force powered by the will of the user. Kyle generally uses fanciful constructs in the shape of advanced technology. Their appearance does not indicate the power of the weapon. The weapons power is more an indication of the will of the user. Certain users (i.e. Hal Jordan) have been powerful enough to stagger even Superman. If the user wishes, they can alter the form of the blasts, such as Kilowog's "booms."

Force Field: The ring can create various forcefields of various sizes and shapes to protect the wearer and others around him. With the cosmic scope of a Green Lantern's duties, it is only natural that the power ring is designed for operation in space. The ring creates a force-field around the wearer, protecting him/her/it from the hazards of the void including filtration of stellar radiation and microscopic particulate matter which would ordinarily be fatal should the space debris strike the ring wielder at high speeds. An atmosphere appropriate to the ring wielder's biology is created inside the force-field, body temperature is maintained and waste products are removed. Gravitational stresses which could cause injury are stabilized for the ring wielder. The only exception to force fields was attacks based on the color yellow. The newer version of the ring is not limited by the color yellow as long as the wielder can overcome their fear.

Energy Constructs: The ring can form constructs of Oan energy. The primary function of the Power Ring is to provide a weapon capable of transforming the wearer's thoughts into physical constructs through the wearer's strength of willpower. A Green Lantern can create any particular items or construct that they can imagine as long as they have the willpower necessary to will it into existence. The constructs are made out of green energy, which is a tangible form of pure willpower, and they exist only as long as a Green Lantern is fueling it with their willpower. Items created by the rings are not indestructible and are only as powerful as the willpower of the Green Lantern creating them. The types of constructs usually reflects the ring wearer's personality. Green Kryptonite has also been constructed using a Ring.
Phasing: The Power Ring allows the wearer to pass through certain solid objects, such as walls. Which objects that are not penetrable are not known, but it may depend upon the strength of the wearer's willpower and the density of the object's molecular structure. It has also been cited that the wielder could pass through the fourth dimensional gap or dissemble their own molecular structure.

Environmental Playback: Upon request, the power ring can recreate a holographic environment based on data in its memory banks. The ring wielder can observe events in a ghostlike state, but the ring wielder cannot alter the outcome of the playback. All objects in the playback will appear in the full spectrum of colors, regardless of the wielder's level of expertise creating simulacrums. The power ring will automatically end the playback if outside interference warrants the ring wielder's undivided attention.
Invisibility & Light Refraction: A ring wielder can render him/her/itself invisible by willing the ring to bend light waves around his/her/its form, as well as that of the power ring. Presumably, a similar action allows an experienced ring wielder to create objects of colors other than green. As Hal Jordan's experience grew, he was able to create power ring illusions of people and objects. It can be assumed the ring wielder would not risk the extra time and effort to create other colors in a combat situation.

Energy Twin: The power ring allows the wearer to create an "energy twin" of his/her/itself that can travel at far greater speeds than that of the ring wielder's physical form. While the energy twin is active the ring wielder remains motionless, his/her/its life force is needed to guide the energy twin. The energy twin can not alter its surroundings, and may only be perceived by the Guardians or another ring wielder as a green, ghostlike image. Any knowledge gained by the energy twin is transferred back to the ring wielder's physical form upon recontact with the body. The Guardians frequently used energy twins as a means of contacting a Green Lantern. As a rule, a ring wielder can not create actual, independent duplicates of him/her/itself, as the power ring cannot create life.

Energy Absorption: The ring can absorb and store most other energies. Doing so does NOT replenish the normal store of energy the ring has. A ring that needs recharging but contained a store of electricity could only discharge that electricity, for example. In an episode of Static Shock, John Stewart was able to defeat Sinestro via merging the remainder of his Oan energy and discharging it simultaneously with electrical energy supplied continuously by Static.

Flight: By the manipulation of anti-gravitons and directed molecular movement, the ring allows the user to fly at incredible speeds. In atmosphere, a Green Lantern has been known to fly as fast as Mach 10 in atmosphere by creating an aerodynamic envelope around his body. Towing others, usually within a bubble, his speed is limited to the twice the speed of sound or 1440 mph. In space, Green Lantern's speed can be significantly greater and has been known to approach 80% of lightspeed in normal space. Flight is possible at velocities exceeding light speed. In atmospheres, air friction is not a hindrance, since heat is either absorbed or reflected by the ring's field.

Wormholes & Spacial Warps: The power ring grants its wearer access to wormholes in space, enabling the ring wielder to rapidly cut time and distance needed for transport. The Guardians established at least one known wormhole to Oa, which required the use of a power ring to enter. Black holes can be navigated by experienced ring wielders. During a battle with Sinestro and his ally, Mad God Sector 3600, members of the Green Lantern Corps of Earth and the Green Lantern Corps of the Klyminade traveled through a black hole to be deposited outside a white hole in Space Sector 872. The power ring cannot generate a Boom Tube, as it needs a Mother Box and a sample of the highly unstable X-Element. There is no known way to duplicate either item, even with the power ring. Should a Green Lantern make his/her/its way to the other-dimensional worlds of Apokolips or New Genesis through a Boom Tube, the ring will function as it does in the rest of the universe. John Stewart encountered no ring related difficulties during his stay on New Genesis, despite the loss of the
Central Power Battery. The ring wielder would still need a Boom Tube to return to his/her/it's dimension.

Time Travel: Time travel is possible with the power ring, though the further forward in time a ring wielder travels, the more willpower it takes. As Green Lantern, Hal Jordan once explored as far as the 70th century. Jordan had also traveled to the 58th century as Pol Manning, a role later adopted by Salaak of Slyggia.
Limited Cellular Regeneration: This ring has a limited ability to heal physical injuries; this seems to be a feature held over from the previous incarnations of the ring. Green Lantern can use the ring to repair minor injuries in himself or others. Speculation has been rendered to wonder if Kyle actually had medical knowledge, that he would be able to cure a wider variety of dysfunctions, beyond normal physical injuries.

Electromagnetic Scanning: The ring has a wide range of detection abilities based on the imagination of the user. If one can conceive of it, he can probably detect it. Magical effects like clairvoyance, seem to be beyond the scope of the ring. Most normal electromagnetic phenomena are within the range of the ring, including radio, television, infrared, ultraviolet, and high frequency band communications.

Search Probes: A user was capable of sending probes through their Power Ring that were tasked with locating specific targets or individuals.

Galactic Encyclopedia: The earlier rings worn by the Corps functioned as references for their users. Having the vast knowledge of the Oans to draw upon, each ring functioned as a ready reference on most peoples, stellar events and conditions that may have been seen by other rings or other Green Lanterns. The rings also served as a repository of adventures had by the Green Lantern and these mission reports were stored in the Prime Battery on Oa for review and training.

Universal Translator: The power ring can translate virtually any language in the universe, facilitating diplomatic encounters rather than violent confrontations. Complications can arise, though, when a frame of reference for translation is not available, as evidenced during Katma Tui's induction of Rot Lop Fan into the Green Lantern Corps.

Material Alteration: The Green Lantern's uniform is not made out of fabric. It is created by the Power Ring whenever the wearer wills to wear it. It automatically appears over the wearer's normal clothing, and vanishes when the wearer wills to return to their civilian attire. Most Green Lanterns wear similar uniforms that are programmed into the ring by default, such as Hal Jordan's uniform. However, each Green Lantern is able to adjust their uniform to fit their own needs, personalities and whims. Jack Chance is the most extreme example, refusing to wear a uniform save for a Lantern badge on his trench coat. The green parts of the wearer's uniform are usually hot to those who touch it, while the black parts are cold. The uniform also produces a "siren" taking on the form of the Green Lantern Corps' symbol, circling the Green Lantern when active. The symbol, or badge, will not appear on the uniform until after a newly inducted Lantern has completed training on Oa, leading to the term "White-circle" to describe a rookie Lantern.

Ring Duplication: Most Power Rings are capable of automatically duplicating themselves. Each duplicate typically shares the qualities and capabilities of the original ring. Each duplicate still requires to be recharged by a personal power battery. Some "temporary" rings can also be made, as well as rings with severe limitations and pre-programmed commands. All power rings, as being based upon the green ring templates created by the Guardians of the Universe, are all programmed to be able to duplicate themselves on a specialised command known apparently only by the Guardians.

Emergency Beacon: A Green Lantern in distress can use his/her/its power ring as an emergency beacon. The alert can be directed to a Green Lantern's neighboring sector, or it can be a Corps-wide alert.

Homing Beacon: A homing beacon in the power ring can lead one Green Lantern to another. This was one of the recent power ring upgrade features added by the Guardians of the Universe. The power ring can be ordered to disguise itself to elude power ring wielding trackers. Most often ring wielders will allow the beacon to signal their location to others. The Green Lantern Corps of Earth found the remnants of the Green Lantern Corps of The Klyminade by tracking them through their power rings.
Mind Alteration: Though the ethics of mind tampering may be debatable, sometimes it is necessary. As the power ring relies on thought and will to operate, mind tampering is not impossible. The difficulty lies in properly applying the power. There lies a risk of catastrophic damage to the mind should mistakes be made. A ring wielder can use the power ring to erase portions of an individual's memories. To protect his secret identity as Hal Jordan, Green Lantern created a mental block in the mind of Major Disaster. Green Lanterns have used mind techniques as part of training. New recruits may be subjected to mind scans by other Green Lanterns or the Guardians of the Universe. They are taught to build mental defenses to protect themselves from psionic attack. The power ring can also be used to beam information from the ring wielder to another being. Green Lanterns have used this technique to share information regarding their enemies during combat situations.

Pocket Dimension: Within the ring exists the possibility of an entire world. When Green Lantern Abin Sur of Ungara defeated the evil sorcerer Myrwhydden, he reduced the magician to submicroscopic size and imprisoned him inside the power ring, into a world created by the Green Lantern's will. This undefined space may be a tesseract or a virtual reality created by the power ring. Whether or not this area exists in all rings has yet to be proven. Years after Abin Sur's death, Myrwhydden's power grew, allowing him to alter his environment and escape to battle the next Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. The power ring's interior appeared as a barren wasteland, dotted with dead trees and sea shells which Myrwhydden used during an escape attempt.

Security Protocol: The rings can be programmed. They are coded to the wearer to make them unusable if stolen. The ring will refuse to take an action that would kill a being unless they are on Oa or with permission. The Guardians recently removed the lethal force prohibition, first to allow lethal force against members of the Sinestro Corps, then against all enemies of the Green Lantern Corps.

Preset Conditions: Commands can be stored in the ring to be executed at a later date, even if the bearer is not wearing the ring.

Thought Relay: Otherwise known as a telepathic link.
Levitation

Hope Symbiosis: When in the presence of a Blue Lantern Power Ring, a Green Lantern Power Ring gains a power boost, as well as allowing the Blue Lantern to fully utilize his or her powers.

Compassion Absorption: Similar to other lanterns natural "purge" of certain Power Rings, the Green Lanterns' Power Ring has the ability to absorb energy of Indigo Lantern's. This is made possible by their natural weakness found in Will Subversion.

Weaknesses
Mental Instability Protocol: Drug use, neural interference, vertigo or other forms of mental incapacitation can render the wearer unable to use their ring.
Yellow Impurity: Formerly, the rings were unable to directly affect yellow. Now, a wearer can bypass this if they can 'accept fear', which is personified by the color yellow. Rookie lanterns are more susceptible to fear and thus vulnerable to the color yellow.
Rage Vulnerability: The Red light can corrupt the aura of a Green Lantern, draining the power of a Green Lantern Ring. Red Rage vulnerability has since been shown to be subject to the same restrictions as Yellow Impurity. While it will have a direct affect, its ability to entirely alter the user is dependent on the Green Lantern's ability to "understand", "accept", and "control" their rage.

Recharge Protocol: Formerly, the rings needed to be charged after a period of one planetary axial rotation (dependent on each ring's location), regardless of how often it was used. Currently, the rings retain a charge until they run out of power. This variability ensures that the wearer takes great effort to keep it charged.

Vibrational Interference: If a vibration from a device is set to a certain speed, it causes the ring to function only in miniature, so that if the user wanted to make hands to grab something, the hands would be smaller than intended. A clock has been seen to do this.

Player Name: D12
Superhero/villain: Doctor Fate, Nabu Lord of Order
Real Name: Linda Strauss | Nabu
Age: 36 | ∞
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Base of Operations: Tower of Fate, Salem Massachusetts
Powers: Supreme Sorcery, Avatar of a Lord of Order
Weaknesses:
Anti-Magic: Doctor Fate's powers are entirely based within the realms of sorcery and within areas in which magic does not function, or functions erratically, Doctor Fate's powers are extremely limited or unpredictable.

Loss of Helmet: Nearly all the power of Doctor Fate originates from the spirit of Nabu and resides within the Helmet of Nabu. Without the Helmet Linda maintains her growing knowledge of arcane lore as well as any information Nabu has told her; but loses the ability to summon any magic whatsoever.

History: Linda Strauss was an ordinary woman, married to Henry Strauss, and step-mother to his son Eric Strauss. Tragedy struck the family when Henry Strauss died. The family mourned Henry but didn't miss him. The man was an ass.

Linda and Eric continued to live their own, separate, relatively uneventful lives until another tragic death. This of a many they did not know, nor had even met. The former Doctor Fate, Kent Nelson. With Kent's passing the Helm of Fate and the spirit within it, the Lord of Order Nabu, set to finding a new host for its power and a new avatar through which it could affect the physical world.

Nabu came to choose not one vessel, but two. Eric Strauss was the primary host for the spirit of Nabu, however in order to fully actualize the potential power of Doctor Fate Eric was required to physically fuse himself with Linda so that the two could control the power of Fate together. This lead Linda to begin what some might call an inappropriate relationship with her step-son.

Sadly Eric's life was also lost as he failed to prevent The Key from unlocking the gates of Hell and this has left Linda alone to act as the avatar of Doctor Fate.

Seeking vengeance for Eric's death, Linda has completely abandoned any sense of a civilian life; in part to protect others from the deaths that seem to follow her, in part to focus more completely on the responsibility of being Doctor Fate in a world with the gates of Hell unlocked. When not active as Doctor Fate Linda spends nearly all her time within the Tower of Fate performing the other duties expected of Doctor Fate.

Activity: Since the gates of Hell have been opened Linda has spent nearly every waking moment either combating the escaping demons; individually binding the strongest within physical objects or areas until a means of permanently returning them to hell can be found, or searching for a way to re-seal the gates of Hell themselves.

She has been working fourteen hours days almost constantly, and if weren't for the magic of Nabu sustaining her, or the sting of Eric's death driving her she would have collapsed weeks ago.

Juggtacular

Player Name: Juggtacular
Superhero/villain: Shazam
Real Name: William "Billy" Batson
Age: 18
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Base of Operations: Rock of Eternity
Powers: By shouting "SHAZAM", Billy Batson becomes imbued with the power of "Living Lightning", which channels the essence of Six Gods(Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, Mercury) and makes him one of the most powerful heroes on the planet. He becomes a perfect version of himself and gains immense strength, durability, and speed. Aside from physical and mental abilities, he can also use high end magic such as teleportation, enchantments, magic lightning and magical energy blasts .

Weaknesses:  Billy must be able to speak to transform. If he can't open his mouth and verbally shout the power word as well as willing it to work, he won't change. When not in Shazam form, he's a normal person and can be hurt just as easily as one.

History: Billy Batson's parents were killed when he was young, resulting in him becoming an orphan. In a horrible streak of bad luck, Billy was treated poorly by every foster family who adopted him, to the point that he became bitter and mean. To the point that even when a good family(The Vazquez's) adopted him, he couldn't see it. The day he was brought home, he was instantly annoyed with his new foster parents and all his foster siblings.

After just a week, he decided to run away, but in the process he was teleported into another dimension. He was brought to a place called The Rock of Eternity by a powerful wizard named Shazam. He looked into Billy's soul and told him that he was not pure, nor was he purely good. Billy threw it right back at him and told him that no one was purely good, and Shazam realized he was right; that the world and perception of good and evil had changed.

So despite not being perfect(as no one was), he blessed Billy with the Living Lightning, a magical lightning bolt that opened a direct connection to six Gods of immense power and made Billy their champion. This made Billy the next to bear the name Shazam, "World's Mightiest Mortal". Split between using his powers for good and for personal gain, Billy showed he was still just thirteen at heart. But over time he began to take his job more seriously and actively threw his pursuits into protecting his home of Fawcett City, as well as the world from threats; especially magical ones as he was uniquely suited to deal with them.

Activity: Since the event, Billy has been approached by the Justice League and is one of the newest members. He's still getting used to the idea of fighting on a team, but fighting alongside people like Superman and Wonder Woman is awesome. He's been primarily handling the demon spawn running amok due to the gates of Hell opening along with the other magical heroes of the world.

Player Name:Barbara_Gordon
Superhero/villain:Terra
Real Name:Atlee
Age:20
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Base of Operations: Strata (Beneath the surface of the Earth)
Powers: Geomancy: Terra possesses the ability to manipulate the geography of her surrounding environment through force of will.  Minor healing factor (takes hours to heal and is in a coma during any major recoups)

Weaknesses: Though stronger and tougher then a normal human, she can of course be overwhelmed by foes stronger. Also her geomancy requires some level of concentration, she has a vulnerability to sonic attacks

History: Atlee hails from an intra-terrestrial race of people that livedeep below the planet's surface. Her people's culture are intrinsically tied to the sanctity of the Earth, and they occasionally take measures to insure that the ecosystem is protected. To this end, Atlee was given geokinetic powers based upon the genetic template of her predecessor, Tara Markov. Taking human form, she rose to the surface world and began adventuring as a super-hero.

Atlee adventured for some time, splitting her time between the surface world and her family in Strata, meeting, amongst others, Power Girl for a time. Though she officially carried the code name Terra, she soon found it held many negative relations to several of the heroes and heroines she encountered, and generally went by Atlee for the most part, though the papers still dubbed her Terra.

Activity: Atlee continues to split her time between the surface world and Strata. As no non altered human can stand to live as far beneath the surface as the Stratans can for long periods, this prevented a mass evacuation or long term assistance. The Stratans are kept hidden, for the most part, by the constantly changing tunnels moved by Atlee and other Geomancers. Though most Stratans have preached non involvement, some assist by supplying Atlee with what meager supplies they can spare, which she delivers to where she can. Atlee helped to wage small fights against the aliens, slaves, and other monstrosities that Despero  calls forth. Since his defeat she’s been invited to join the League, as much an ambassador to Strata as a way to keep the powerful meta human

I just noticed that several of the characters on this iteration of the JLA are a bit...unstable. This should be interesting. And Harley, Heide, and Quickdraw are three that will definitely be the ones willing to use morally questionable tactics to get the job done :D

D12

I was momentarily Suuuuper confused by the member named Barbara_Gordon playing Atlee. I was all like, wait is this Barbara Gordon with Terra's powers? But it looks like Atlee... 0.0
And then I read things more closely and, as it often does, it made things make sense.

The First Story is called "TITANS" and will pitch our heroes against this worlds Lex Luthors team titans.
While A second Storyline runs by the side as the team rush to save Martain Manhunter.

So against the Titans we have the following.

Superman VS Lex. Luthor will have his Krytpoian Suit ready.
Wonder Woman VS Powergirl/Donna Troy
Batman VS Robin/Dick Grayson
Flash VS Arrow/Roy Harper
Green lantern VS Aquaman
Constantine  VS  Raven
Harley Quinn VS Cyborg

My version of Atom aka Rhonda Pierce will lead *Newbie* Heroes Doctor Fate, Shazam, Terra and Quickdraw to the Artic to try and Find Martain Manhunters spaceship. The Martain is dying. They will be default run into Supergal. Typical misunderstanding leads to a fight and then they soon realise they are all on the same side. But they are been hunted by the Villianess organization known as CHECKMATE!

Also if you want we can do FLASHBACK scenes to how the new members were recruited.

Thoughts?

Etherealgirl

I'm fine role playing before the fights. I for one would like to know how or why Harley would join up with JLA. I'm for Harley doing good and all that but see her more if a reluctant helper. She might be easier to control with no Joker around.

Would you mind if you and I do a flashback to Wonder Woman recruiting Harley to the League much to the dismay of Batman?

I'm fine with that. Would be fun to play out. I'm sure batman would love to be there for that.

Actually, I was kind of picturing something else for Quickdraw but I can totally fold it in with what you're thinking.

Have to find the Martian. He's the key.

In the original timeline, Supergal and the Martian didn't get involved until the Justice League and the President were already dead. Damn shame too. Despero has spies disguised as humans, and disguised well too. My machines can sense when one's nearby, but all the machines in the world can't actually see through the disguises until I'm only a few yards out.

The Martian though - tale has it the Martian could see one of Despero's spies from a mile away. If he wasn't a day late and too banged up to put up a fight he might of turned it by himself. Gotta find the Martian, get him patched up before it all goes tits up.

Have to find the Martian, and hope to God that the Justice League and Checkmate are too busy messin' with each other before any of them notice little ol' me.

Short Version - Quickdraw is actually there on his own trying to do a bit of behind the scenes work, help patch up the Martian so he's in better shape and already in the Justice League when Despero invades. Then the idea is to slip out before anyone else notices him, let alone recruits him.

Of course, things might not work out that way. Supergal spots him relatively right off for one. Checkmate might as well, and a firefight ensues.

Swordsman18

Player Name: Swordsman18

Superhero/villain: Starfire

Real Name: Koriand'r or Kory Anders as her Earth name

Age: 35 in Earth years

Sexual Orientation: Pansexual

Base of Operations: Watchtower

Powers:
Tamaranean Physiology: Starfire's alien physiology constantly absorbs ultraviolet radiation and converts it to energy.

Energy Absorption: She can also absorb the ultraviolet radiation from other life forms. She once used this application of her power to weaken a group of Kryptonians who otherwise require ultraviolet radiation to maintain their superhuman abilities.

Flight: Which leaves a distinctive energy contrail behind, looking as if it is coming directly from her hair. Starfire has also been stated to have flown light years through space in short amounts of time.

Starbolts: The solar absorption experiments performed on her by the alien Psions granted her the amazing power and ability to channel and project that same energy into destructive blasts called "starbolts". Starfire also has the power and ability to unleash all her stored energy into a pseudo nova blast. It is suggested to be as hot as the sun itself and so only uses this in dire situations.

Superhuman Durability

Superhuman Strength[8]

Lingustic Assimilation: She is also capable of assimilating other languages through physical contact with another person. She learned English by kissing Dick Grayson

Weaknesses:

Allergic to Metallic Chromium

Weak against psychic attacks

Naive to Earth culture and practices

History:

Once in line to be queen of her planet of Tamaran, her entire race was betrayed by her sister Komand'r who told the Citadel of their planetary defenses. Quickly her planet was overrun by those from the Citadel where she was placed into slavery with her sister being her owner. For countless years, her sister tortured her and kept her restrained for much of her waking life. All of this was due to her possessing the abilities of the royal family while her sister did not. This lack of power meant that even though Komand'r was older, she would still not get the throne.

Before this point however, the two sisters had a relatively good relationship. Yet with Kori's growing powers, jealousy grew in her heart. A Citadel spy offered her a deal to stay in power and she took it. Thus she enslaved her sister as her job in the new regime was to minimize the threat Kori could pose to them. However, no one could have predicted the energy Kori stored while in captivity. Eventually she blasted her way out of where they kept her for several years of her adult life. In desperation all she could do was to run to the nearest planet of intelligent life. Soon she came upon Earth, crash landing there in an alien craft.

The Justice League saved her from her pursuers as well as help her strike back against them. Soon after that she used her understandings of good and evil on Earth to stand with fellow costumed heroes. Not having an identity on Earth, it allowed her to be a heroine full time fighting against evil as she encountered it.

Activity: A member of the Justice League, she has been looking into the Event in depth, trying to discover just where this telepathic image came from and how she could help. Still unable to return to her own planet. She understand the plight of someone who has lost theirs.

Ya'll are just gonna make me regret not playing Raven instead of Dr. Fate aren't yah?

My first instinct was actually Zatanna Zatara, but with there being a Constantine, and my own feelings that Zatanna can do better than John, I thought may someone else. Raven is and has been my favorite DC character; just, everything about her. Leaving behind the only culture she's ever known to defend a world she's never known from an evil that everyone says is a part of her...

So I thought of Doctor Fate; Kent Nelson originally, but I always find it awkward to play boys if things get sexual, and Doctor Fate has been a woman so, and plus with he grittier theme Linda minus Eric seemed more natural than Inza minus Kent.

I love the fact that in Flash comics the Future is this place where people are so bored they come back to the past to just do something interesting.

Player Name: mia h
Superhero/villain: Bombshell
Real Name: Amy Allen
Age: 19
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Base of Operations: Miami

Powers:
With the dilustel skin covering her body Bombshell is able to access the Quantum Field for her superhuman abilities which give her the strength to lift in excess of 100 tonnes, the ability to fly at Mach 3 and project blasts of Quantum energy. Bombshell also has demonstrated considerable control over electromagnetism and is able to produce localized EMP waves powerful enough to scramble unshielded electronics and human brains, government scientist have theorized that with enough practice Bombshell may be able to control electromagnetism at the atomic level.
Bombshell's metal skin makes her practically impervious to damage from conventional weapons and gives her the ability to absorb all forms of energy

Weaknesses:
Bombshell can only access her powers when encased in her metal skin. And while Bombshell's ability to absorb energy is theoretically limitless, if she absorbs too much power then she can briefly be pushed into the Quantum Field causing to make an involuntary time jump.

History:
Amy Allen is an Army Brat and the youngest daughter of General Henry Allen who gave all of his children a simple choice in life college or the Army. But as Amy was never the greatest student and with college looking more remote with every passing lesson (and failed test) Amy jumped before she was pushed enlisting at the first opportunity. Joining the Army created a dramatic turnaround for Amy who changed from being a slacker to one of the hardest working members of her unit, making her father very proud in the process. The change in Amy made her father start to pull a few strings for his daughter and Amy ended up being assigned to a high profile weapons research program.
During the preparation of a weapons test there was a catastrophic accident when an experimental bomb casing exploded leaving four people dead and fragments of the casing embedded in Amy. The metal bonded with Amy giving her the ability to access the Quantum Field.
Officially the weapons program was closed along with a medical discharge for Amy however the project is now continuing as a black budget operation. Amy is free to publically use her powers but she works closely with a team of scientist looking to better understand her abilities and reason why she was the only one who survived the accident.

Wait a second - you guys have been saying pretty hard that the fight with Despero was upcoming and hadn't happened yet. Even implied pretty strongly that only the Martian Manhunter knew he was coming.

When did that change?

TheVillain

I definitely sent out a few PMs of plot building under that impression and nobody said anything to correct me of that idea.

So why are we suddenly now saying that the Despero fight already happened?

Why did you turn the big bad of the first big story arc which you put effort into building up and then turn him into just a quick footnote at the last second? Without telling anyone as far as I can tell, I might add.

Villain, I am a little confused as well. I thought that was the main point of the initial arc. We were all called by Martian Manhunter to deal with him. And now we aren't?

It does help hearing that I'm not alone in this boat. Though I got the impression that he hadn't even done the call yet - but he was going to start soon.

Either way, at the very least we should of been corrected when we made posts and sent PMs for plotting based on that assumption.

Just for the sake of building solutions, could we say we're starting this before? Since we're still starting initial posts I don't think it changes a whole lot yet. Just a bit of editing of a few paragraphs.

I suppose I could provide a little help if that's what it takes. Not GM duties but I can bounce ideas.

This would probably work better, I might be good for ideas but real life drama won't help with much more.

I can see Quickdraw helping recruit Constantine after he gets recruited himself if it helps. Quickdraw would have some knowledge of big points of the future, at least up to the Despero fight. A few points of events that need to stay the same, and other events that need to play out differently. Getting Constantine to play ball might be one of them.

The Constantine thing wasn't him not wanting to join it was that the rest of the Justice league would think we was just a normal person and a con man at that. Yes with some magic but not enough to be important. That way there would his initial character struggle of trying to get their attention when he does something important.

Batman4560

So I just finished typing up my intro post and saw all the chatter here. Lois is it possible to get an OOC thread so we don't clog this up with OOC chatter?

So this is the synopsis for the first arc:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
THE FIRST ARC: After he destroyed Mars, he came to Earth, laments Jozz to the newly formed League. But there was nothing to conquer. He killed the dominant speciesyour dinosaursand marked your Earth as a viable future world to subjugate. Hisno, its name is Despero, the immortal leader of his warlike race. He comes alone, conquers by his own hand and proves his status of God to his people. I have felt his mind. He is coming.

As the team races to learn everything they can about Despero and the Martian/human technology of the JLAs Manhattan HQ, Despero crashes to Earth in a fiery ball of death. Towering over seven feet tall, the alien wreaks havoc through the U.N., brutally killing every delegate inside and donning the UN`s flag as a symbol of his power. His next step is to murder the U.S. president, as Despero cuts a path of destruction through all U.S. resistance. Eventually catching up to him, the hastily assembled Justice League face the would-be conqueror as their first mission and their first failure. Even though they eventually defeat Despero, they may soon have to contend with an entire race of Desperos; having retreated behind Saturn, the rudderless army gives pause to ponder what to do with the one planet thats managed to defeat their god

However Lois also put up a post about the first team thing being fighting off a group called the Titans.

I think we should all assume that the league came together by fighting off Despero and we are picking up from there. It gives everyone a solid reason for teaming up and we skip the awkward intro posts where we don't know how to mingle with each other.
Status: Stepping away for a while.

TheVillain

It's only awkward depending on how we do it. And I for one got the idea that Despero was the first big arc, Titans was an event in the Arc. Titans is part of the building up to Despero.

Besides man, it's Despero. Why would you say something really, really cool happened 5 minutes before we got there? That's just being a tease. :P

Update - Apologies to all my partners, real life is exploding and I've gotten far behind.

vatovie

Either way we can adapt our posts and the main issue becomes running out of plot because we skipped over some. This skip might cause the plot to be dragged out later if we don't do something.

Batman4560

True enough. If that is the case Lois needs to completely re do her opening post. But that's not a big deal I suppose. It just depends on if she feels up to it.
Status: Stepping away for a while.

vatovie

Yeah I don't think it's too big of a deal but then again I like the idea of getting to the magic based arc quicker.

TheVillain

It's early enough that it wouldn't take much effort. And a few of us already Offered to help.

Would it make more sense to assume something smaller happened to bring everyone together and maybe go with the Despero arc pick up here?

D12

Didn't the whole Despero thing already happen?

I mean it says "Even though they eventually defeat Despero, they may soon have to contend with an entire race of Desperos; having retreated behind Saturn, the rudderless army gives pause to ponder what to do with the one planet thats managed to defeat their god." -Here

I was under the impression that the story was starting off with The Key unlocking the gates of hell; that's why I had Eric Strauss die 'trying to stop The Key' (unlocking the gates of hell seems like the kind of thing Dr. Fate would try to stop.)

Etherealgirl

Mkay, I posted. I tried to keep it vague, since I'm not sure what storyline is going on right now.

VoluptuousVixen

My reason for having despero as a pre installed bad guy meant we had a foundation for the story. So a last the founding members have a common ground and know each other. With superman, wonder woman, Batman, green lantern, flash, atom and language as a core team it opens it up for the others to come in.

If we say draperies happens six Weeks ago it gives the other heroes a chance to be inspired to join the team.
If you want John to join later he can.

But some people have posted in both threads so, I will do some tweekin if you don't want your chars mentioned and we can go from.there.

Well an entire army of Despero's sounds pretty scary. They all don't have his psychic powers I believe but if his army is anywhere near him physically then they'll be more than enough when they finally come into play. Despero nearly wrecked the team, and he was alone. Imagine how much damage an entire army can do, psych powers or no.

TheVillain

Exactly. So why is she handwaving them away with a "you already beat them, tah!"?

Update - Apologies to all my partners, real life is exploding and I've gotten far behind.

Juggtacular

Well it's Lois' game. She can take it in any way she wants as this is her brain child. Secondly, Despero was defeated, his army simply retreated for the time being considering losing a general is one thing, but losing your leader who is considered something like a God Emperor and considered unbeatable will really shake you to your core. So them backing off for the time being makes sense. She never said they wouldn't come back. And since it's only been 6 weeks since Despero's defeat, maybe she wants the League and the new members to cut their teeth handling other stuff so they can build up to another potential worldwide cataclysm.

Etherealgirl

That does sound like something she wants to do. I thought the RP would be more emphasis on getting to know your fellow teammates and all that.

TheVillain

That might work, actually. The world thinks it's beaten Despero, the JL thinks they've beaten Despero - but he's only slinked back into space to get ready for Round 2.

The problem is that how she wants turned out to be a bait-and-switch from what she said she wanted. And she had easily weeks to correct people from the misunderstandings she had plenty of time to realize was going on.

Granted, personally it looks like the bait-and-switch was unintentional so I'm not holding it against her on a personal level - but the pitch she gave us and her actual plans turned out to be radically different and someone should call her on that.

Thought admittedly, I might of got a bit sidetracked on story points as well. :P

The Despero arc was written is past tense and the opening hell arc was in present and future tense.  There was no bait and switch there was a misunderstanding from people not paying attention to the tense. Then Lois not realizing what happened and getting a bit confused as well.  So then she couldn't easily fix the problem.

Deathnote

Player Name: Deathnote
Superhero/villain: Flash (formerly Kid Flash)
Real Name: Wally West
Age: 18
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Base of Operations: Keystone City
Powers:
The Flash has the ability to move faster than the speed of sound.  His super speed includes the ability to enhance his perception to match his speed, an aura that protects him from friction, and an accelerated healing factor.  He is also incredibly tough, enough to allow him to withstand the forces that come with moving at superhuman speeds.  Recently, Wally has discovered that he could go much much faster than the speed of sound.  The fastest he has ever gone was faster than Mach 10, but even then it is unknown whether or not that is his true top speed.  His mentor, Barry Allen was eventually able to move faster than the speed of light, after all...
Weaknesses:
Wally's super speed comes with an accelerated metabolism, meaning that he would have to consume a lot more food than the average man of his size and age.  While he has control over his accelerated perception of time, if he's not consciously controlling it, he may end up activating it without even noticing.  For example, he could be standing in line for what would feel like hours on end.  Only when he starts paying attention will he realize that only five seconds have passed in "real" time.

History:
Wally West was one of if not the biggest fan of the Flash.  His aunt, Iris West knew that it was Wally West's biggest dream to meet the real Flash.  Barry Allen was a forensic scientist and Iris had hoped that with his police connections, he might be able to set up some sort of meeting.  One summer, Wally went to visit his aunt in Central City and was excited because that was where the Flash operated.  Barry Allen brought Wally to the Central City Police laboratory and it was there that Wally got to meet his hero, the Flash.  Through some freak coincidence, the same freak accident that gave the Flash his powers repeated itself, this time granting Wally the same speed powers.  With these new powers, Wally became Kid Flash I and fought crime alongside his new mentor, The Flash... AKA Barry Allen.

Shortly after the Justice League defeated Despero, Barry Allen went missing.  While Barry remained missing, Wally took over his duties by protecting both Central City and Keystone City.  It eventually became apparent, however, that Barry Allen wasn't coming back and Wally was going to have to take over the mantle.  During an encounter with Reverse-Flash, Wally was forced to push his powers to the limit and break through the psychological block he had placed on himself.  To prevent himself from truly "replacing" Barry, Wally had subconsciously limited his speed so that he could never become his mentor's equal, but Thawne's bragging that he would become the true Flash forced Wally past this block as he feared Thawne replacing Barry more than he feared himself doing so.  This breakthrough was the first step toward allowing Wally to discover the Speed Force and his special connection to this extra-dimensional source of energy.  In the aftermath of the conflict, Wally took up the mantle of the Flash.
