Vekseid is looking into hacking in a 'favorite topics' section, kind of like 'show new replies', except you would merely see those boards you've selected.

Another alternative might be to add a kind of topic filter, will have to ask him about that >_>

Vekseid

That was easy.

It's currently a bit limited - if something has fallen to the second page of topics, it won't show it unless you're viewing that page.  That means if your topics are not within the first sixty topics (maybe 120 after we move to a twin-column layout) you'll need to go to the next page to see them all.

This is because I'm using simple a hack through the theme.  That means it runs through the link which includes

a href https://elliquiy.com/index.php?topic=#### --- /a

So if you try to search for something from within said string, it'll report everything back.  I'll probably cull the string soonish, so that shouldn't be a problem for long, but the other issue will remain open for awhile.  Just plopping it into the query is a rather sizeable security risk, and I don't think I'd enjoy taking that.

Vekseid

Okay, no more of the second problem. :-)

It seems some people are unfortunately confused about how to use the filter.

It's simple, in the board index, say, from here:

https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?board=1.0

To the right of the 'Go Down' button you will see a text input box.  You can enter a word in there, and click the 'filter' button.  So, if you typed 'new' into the box and clicked the button, you would find:

https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?board=1&filter=new

And still see this thread, amongst a few others.

Currently, moving from pages inside of it is busted (my fault :-/) so you'd have to do it manually, like so

https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?board=1.120&filter=new

Which obviously is not ideal and I will be getting to that.  The problem of filtered results only filtering due to page is because this is a theme hack and not an engine one.  If and when I make it a part of the engine, I will have to make sure it's secured (probably eliminating symbols).

As someone who took a hiatus and has just returned, this change is really confusing :(  I'm glad this thread was here (once I managed to find it) to offer ways to sort threads.
