Aight, so this topic's rather self-explanatory. I was wondering what you people enjoy drinking.

Personally, I enjoy a good Palm (Belgian), Hertog Jan (Dutch) or a Duvel (Belgian). Kasteelbier (Dutch) is great too. I'm also good with Grolsch (Dutch) and Guinness (Irish). New Zealand had a brand called... Tui, I think. Tui was nice, but I'm still glad to be home on that account ;p Other than beers I enjoy a wine on occasion, although they're often too expensive for me to remember the name. Regardless the right wine goes really well with dinner.

So how about you people? What do you like to drink?

Serephino

I'm not a big fan of beer.  Wine is okay, but there are so many kinds...  It's hard to know what brands are good, and what kind I like.  I go more for cocktails.  What I really like is white rum mixed with kool aid.

Oniya

I'm particularly fond of meads, melomels and methiglins, home made when I have the time, space, and money to do it.  If it comes down to something I can get at a bar, then I go with a hard cider, sweet over dry, but either is good.

Haha! New fav thread! My number one beer of choice is Molson Canadian. Amazing and perfect just like the land it comes from! ;D

Hmmmmm Not a fan of Beer always made me sick drinking it and since now I'm over the Legal Drinking Age in Australia I would have to Say my Fav Would Be Smirnoff Black Ice

Hemingway

I'm not a huge fan of beer, as it usually leaves me feeling ... very full and slightly nauseous. Despite this, there are certain beers I like. Edelweiss or Erdinger Weissbier.

My alcoholic beverage of choice, however, is Bulmers cider. It's delicious beyond words, it doesn't have the nauseating effect of beer, and it's sufficiently dry and unusual compared to sweet supermarket ciders, to be manly as hell. Because people often question my manliness due to my cider-drinking.

Callie Del Noire

Guinness was one of my favorites till I made a BAD move. I ordered and drank one in Singapore, thought my teeth was going to dissolve. I like a lot of 'cheap' beer mostly, such as Corona as well as any of a variety of East India pales and such. There were a bunch of micro-brews that I tried while I was in Perth, and in Maine. Some of  stuff I learned to like in Rota when I was based there include Sangria (resturant specific blends), Harvey's Bristol Cream, Cruz Campos (ONLY Freezing cold) and such.

And of course Strongbow Hard Cider.

Will

Favorite beer... probably Gulden Draak, a Belgian strong dark ale.  Stuff is expensive, though. :(  Delirium Nocturnum is another favorite, and in the same style.  I'm also in love with just about anything brewed by Terrapin out of Athens, GA, but having moved recently, I'm still searching for someone who carries their stuff.

As far as other alcoholic beverages go?  I love bourbon.  I don't always feel up to drinking it straight, in which case I'll mix it with Sprite, 7-Up, or something of that nature, but I do love it with just a tiny bit of water.  As much as I enjoy the taste of the alcohol itself (and I do), a little water helps to open it up so you can taste everything else.

Alright, I have a small list:

Amaretto Sour when I go out
Screw Driver or Vanilla Coke and Jim Bean at home

Coke and Southern Comfort when I visit my family.

freakula86

Not a big drinker anymore, like back in the day since the car accident..But I will give it a shot.

Yeinling Lager
Crown and Coke
Jack and Coke
Jagermeister my all time favorite alcohol.. ;D I can drink it straight without anything cold or warm it doesn't matter to me. On occasion I will do Jagerbombs, just don't like the way they make me feel though.

CarnivorousBunny

Personally I don't like hard drinks because I've never been a strong drinker.
I like San Miguel Light best because after two of those I'm good for the night.

BUT if we're going taste-wise there was a lemon beer I tasted at Hofbräuhaus in Germany that just blew my mind.  It was the most delicious beer EVER!

Sworn to the Oath of the Drake.

Fleetingsanity

For me my personal favorites have got to be Rickards White and Strongbow but I'm always trying new beer so who knows when I'll find a new favorite.

The Dream Machine

I like to keep it simple--scotch and bourbon, straight up or on the rocks depending on my mood.  I've never really been one for cocktails or beer though.

ausyandy

I don't like beer.  :P

My favourite drinks are Smirnoff Ice Double Black and also Bourbon and Cola.

Eternal Blade

Becks beer has been my favorite, I never liked American beers, though most of my family calls me crazy. I recently found out about dark beer, and now it's about all I'll drink.

For hard liquor I prefer rum, any kind is good, but cold spiced is my preferred. I've heard many people say spiced rum is too thick, but then that may be why I like it.

freakula86

I would have to say homemade Mead...that and Musky dine wine is good as well..Yum.

TheLovelyMaid

Favorite Beer: Bud Light, Wild Blue, Berryweiss, Coors Light

Favorite Cocktail: French Kiss, Miami Vice, Bahama Mama

Favorite Shots: apple pie shots, oatmeal raisin shots

Anesa

Could really go for a cold beer right now.  Just make it a Bud Light, please.

Fae Brin

Mango Margarita, at the moment anyway.

It's the only mango flavoured thing that I like. @.@

bandit

When it comes to beer I pretty much only drink Guinness. Once in a while I'll do a Boddington's but that's about it.

As far as spirits go, I drink Absinthe, Jade 1901 is my favorite. Pricey but well worth ever penny.

Nevermore of blood ravens

I would have to put my vote in for the green faerie as well.

xerxes

My favorite is Laško (slovenian beer) or Radler a mix of bier and lemonade or grapefruit drink.

I also like Gösser, that is German i belive.

Silverfyre

I've actually become quite fond of Sam Adam's and its plethora of brews.  I'm also a sucker for Kirin's line of beers (yes, I know it's really Busch here in the states that makes it).

Callie Del Noire

Right now I got a hankering for this one restaurant's take on Sangria. It was a little Mongolian bbq/Chinese Buffet run about a block and a half of the beach in Rota, Spain. They used apple slices and strawberries in it, and it was AWESOME to drink. I lived about 6 minutes staggering distance from the place and me and my friends would drink about two or three pitchers of it over dinner.

It was kind of ironic since the owner was Hong Kong Chinese, with an East End Londoner for a wife running a restaurant in Spain.

Anesa

Talking about sucking suds all day in the forums has me wanting a cold one so bad I can't hardly stand it!

Braioch

Wine: Lambrusco (cheap as shit but god it's a delicious red wine)
Beer: Blue Moon, the Winter Ale
Liquor: Tequila, lime and salt babeh
Cocktail: Raspberry Smirnoff and Tonic
Light Drink: Chocolate Martini (well it's light to me :P) Gotta use cream, good vodka and Godiva Dark Chocolate Liquor
I'm also on Discord (like, all the time), so feel free to ask about that if you want

Absolut Vodka, Absolut raspberry, Eristoff Gold or Black, Kilkenny, Guinness, Corona, Good ole Bud, Chianti, Barolo (Italian red wine), Sauvignon blanc.

Lilias

I'm a wine person. Usually red, and at least medium sweet. Most of my favourites you've never heard of, because they come from little Greek wineries that don't export - mavrodafni and Cypriot commandaria excepted. I don't go for whites, apart from cava (I've never had real champagne) and cider, which in my book is wine, so there.

I don't like beer of any kind, sacrilegious as it may seem to many. If I go for hard liquor, I'll usually plumb for Bailey's or Drambuie on the rocks, or the very occasional strawberry margarita... or a thimbleful of sherry, if I'm at my mother-in-law's ;D

Out of curiosity, do you have an opinion on ouzo?  I found out too late that my grandfather had a taste for it, and from the little I've heard, I've considered trying it myself.  (That and absinthe reportedly have a strong licorice flavor, which is a plus in my books.)

Ouzo is actually flavoured with aniseed. The difference from liquorice is subtle, but detectable. At its best, ouzo should be served with ice-cold water to dilute to taste (as it is a quintessentially summer drink, adding ice as well is not overkill, it just keeps it cold). If you like liquorice, you'll probably like this, too.

*nods*  Most 'licorice' candy in the U.S. is actually anise flavored, but I've also sampled the real thing, since some of the Ren faires and historical reenactment sites stock actual liquorice root.

That's why I mentioned the difference. Those whose liquorice experience is limited to the candy would find ouzo virtually identical.

For the full experience, serve with a small platter of bite-sized salty and savoury tidbits. Beer nuts just don't cut it.

I tried a microbrew for the first time last week. I believe it was called a blonde IPA...I'll add it to my preference list.

When it comes to Beer, I usually stick with something heavy and full in flavor, but that being said, my favorite is actually a pale ale that goes by the name of Fat Tire.  It has a clean, sweet, and smooth taste to it, without the sourness I've found in a lot of pale ale's.

But I do have to admit that I prefer Red wine over beer any day.  And my favorite so far is any kind of Pinot Noir or a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon; I'm not too picky about labels here.  I do like Kosher Blackberry wine, but I generally prefer my wine to be dry and only slightly sweet.

Now for Cocktails, I enjoy anything Rum based, but I generally go for any cocktail that has O.J mixed into it.  I've learned to be wary of anything too sweet though.

Fat Tire is delicious, I agree one hundred percent!  It was one of the first beers to give me a taste for non-macrobrews.

* Will ^5's undisclosedtoyou.

I've been on a Belgian kick lately, though.  Maredsous Abbey makes a nice Tripel.  At 10% alcohol, though, it's hard for me to NOT like it. >.>

Oh, I love meeting another Fat Tire fan, people usually love it or hate it in my opinion, although I don't understand how anyone can dislike it.

*Reciprocates Wills ^5!

I should also mention that I love hard cider to, although I can't remember what brand I like the most.

Ouzo's not bad, but I do prefer Absinthe to it. I think that Absinthe is a tad more complex and thus a bit more interesting. Also a summer drink really...especially the swiss blanc's.

Favorite brews heh?

I'll leave macrobrews out of this one, even though my social time on Friday eves and Sunday afternoons is spent mostly with a cold High Life (Miller) in hand.

I do like my regional and micros though.   Several of note:
-- Anything Leinenkugels puts out only during certain times of the year.  In example, the summers have Summer Shandy, a delicious brew with a touch of lemonaide-flavored goodness.
-- Point Beer (They're out of Stevens Point WI and only sold regionally, mainly WI for obvious reasons) makes a good hearty regular brew, and their Double Barrel brew is quite fulfilling (as such though, I don't drink too much of it).
-- New Glarus' Breweries has this thing called 'Spotted Cow', one of the best pale-ales I've had out of a microbrewery.  VERY limited distribution..mostly just to my homestate.

I drink a few 'imports' as well.  The obligatory Corona with that hint of line washes away the heat of summer for me.  I'll take down most manner of Labatt or Molson from my Northerly neighbors.  I have a little trouble with the hard likes of stouts and darker brews from Europe though.  Maybe another time, fellow European folk.

On the harder side, I don't do too much there.  The stomach can't take down the hard liquors as well.  I'll always do simple shots...Pucker, Cherry Dr., and (if I'm needing that energy boost) the Jagerbomb.

I was a bit more experimental when my sister used to tend bar (she knew what I may like and what I may not).  I would sometimes go off my beaten-path, but no more.  Captain and Coke is EVIL to me....there goes my taste for rum.

Would love to try Fat Tire and Sam Adams sometime.  Still looking for a hole that serves up those brews.  (My usual hole used to serve Sam Adams, but stopped a few months back.....didn't sell so well for them I guess).

Beer's really not my thing, but my parents have insisted enough for me to try a few during the past year. So far, the verdict is: I like Michelob, pretty much in any presentation but Amberbock is my favourite, so to speak.

That said, I prefer red wine. Chilled, preferrably. And mint Bailey's XD

Just tried this Greek wine(?) last night that had almost a pine kind of flavor to it...almost gin like in it's flavor. It was really impressive in a different kind of way. Not sure that I'd want it all the time but it was a nice change of pace. I can't remember what it was called but when I get that info I'll post it up here. Good stuff that I'd suggest others try.

RUM...! ^-^ Nuff said huge fan of the stuff and it doesn't matter to me what type though if I'm buying I tend toward Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum

Can't stand Wine mostly but every now and then I find a good bottle of red wine...(I really should start writing those down.)

Beer...not a big fan, it messes me up way easier than any hard drinks I have, but I have to say Ska Pinstripe beer is probably one of my favorites, that or Monty Python's Holy Grail Ale

I just recently started drinking so I don't know a lot of other mixed drinks but I do recall one night when I had a shot called a....Slippery nipple?(not sure on the name...) that I loved

Also a big fan of hard cider doesn't matter the type.

SinfulAngel

Im not much of a beer drinker. Or I am not yet a beer drinker as i've yet to find one I like.

I'd have to say my favorite drink is an Alabama Slamber AND/OR AMF.  I also love Southern Comfort and cola, maybe a little grinadine/merachino cherries.

Well, I can't drink anything with a lot of sugar and alcohol is a bit of a problem for me these days (no, not alcoholic, just got dietary disorders), but I used to love Guinness, Theakston's Old Peculiar, Director's Bitter and Waggle Dance.  And mead, I loved mead.  Nowadays when I do drink it tends to be Bushmills, Jameson's, or other Irish whiskeys.  Smooooth.

Waggle Dance?  I'm assuming that's got a fair amount of honey in it somewhere - or is it false advertising like chocolate stout?

Ryven

Beer: Haven't found one I like.

Cider: I love it.  I drink Woodchuck the most, Amber, Granny Smith, or 802.

Vodka: I'll drink it mixed with anything that tastes good.

Tequila: Love shots with lemon/lime and salt.  Try shots with Meyer lemons.  It's awesome.  Also love it mixed.

Rum: I'll drink it mixed, and I love it made into cordials.

Wine: Red.  White I will use for cooking though I seldom drink it.

Cocktail: Espresso Martini

Others: I like Kijafa, barenjager, fruit infused liquors, brandy, and anything with a citrus flavor.

Favorite: Limoncello.  I will drink this chilled ALL.  NIGHT.  LONG!

Hard liquor:  Black Rum (makes you sick as a dog though, lmao), vodka and sometimes gin.

soooo I also like mixed drinks in a techno/trance club with the base pumping and some speakers, a cage or a stage to get onto/into... >:)

I would say wine, but it makes me hot and I actually get a hangover sometimes, and leaves a bad taste in my mouth the next day. Strongbow Sweet doesn't do that.

Strongbow is awesome.  It also doesn't look quite as weird when you order it in a pub (as opposed to wine).

I can't deal with beer  -_-  If I am at some sort of gathering and feel left out I can make myself nurse a Leinenkugels lemonade thingy or a Corona, but I don't really enjoy it and feel kind of nauseous.
As for liquor, I prefer it simple: Vodka or gin mixed with diet pop is good enjoy for me.

Beers disgusting. I've been to parties where theres a bathtub in the yard and everyone must bring something to empty into it. I'm a fussy drinker, so I didn't touch it.

O_O  I'm not terribly fussy.  I may not drink beer - not even Dos Equis - but I can usually find something at the bar that I like when I decide I want to drink (although I don't drink often - a four-pack of wine coolers has lasted me three months, and there's still one left).  I think that even if I was a beer drinker, I'd walk run the other way from 'bathtub beer'.

:o  I have to say "Ewww!" to bath tub beer. I don't think it makes you a fussy drinker because you don't want to drink a whole bunch of mixed stuff sitting open to the air, Sabby.
Call me Pip.

~Smacks Sabby~ Beer is not disgusting!

All violence aside, Pip, you ever have a Diet Coke and Malibu Rum?  If you dig coconut, try that out.  It's delicious.  We call it a "Suntan" because it smells like suntan lotion.

Oniya

Does it have to be diet?  That sounds rather tasty.

Not at all.  Actually, if you have a sweet tooth, regular Coke or Pepsi is even better.

I love beer, but that sounds absolutely awful.  The general idea is to put ice in the tub, then put the unopened beers on ice.  Much better that way. ::)  I certainly don't blame you for not partaking.

Even more of a reason to stay away from it.  Some flavors just don't go together, even on the off-chance that it was high-quality booze to begin with.

I haven't, but now I'm intrigued! I love coconut and use coconut oil for everything, I mean everything. I'll have to try it, I haven't had rum in a long time. Last time it was "The Kraken" and it made me kinda sick :/

edit: typos! argh!

Oh Lord, "The Kraken" is one of the worst rums out there.  I would stick to the clear rums.  Spiced rum can just wreck havoc on a good drink.

Although, I do love me some Captain Morgan.

I don't like beer, but I will drink half a glass of whatever wine my mom's having that night, and I actually enjoy some of them. Not a big drinker, so it's just every once in a while. No need to go overboard.

That's disgusting! I can't even believe someone could come up with that? Not to mention that it's inevitable that someone actually ends up in the tub?

That's as bad as a mat drink - you know those ones where the bartender pours whatever's on that little rubber mat where they mix drinks into a glasss and serves it up... Yuck!

But as for good stuff, I really like Stella, mojitos and vodka/tonic with lime. And red wine.

Now there's an alcohol poisoning case waiting to happen.  Although I'm not sure if it's from someone being poisoned by the alcohol, or the alcohol being poisoned by the frat-boy.

I saw an episode of Viva La Bam once where they all set up a minging trailer park by a creek and Novak, the heroine addict with every STD listed and some yet to be discovered, laid down in a bath tub and they poured creek water in. The kind so full of fermented life its practically opague. He bathed in that, left, got dried, and then another guy, Raab, came by and started mixing moonshine in the same tub.

Now, I thought they just did this for a laugh... but Raab ended up drinking of an entire mouthful and ever since then if I see any drink the same colour (it was kind of like dirty ginger ale) I have this over powering urge to vomit.

I remember that episode. I almost threw up watching it.

The best thing I've ever had was a Dom Pérignon: year 1978.  For my tenth wedding anniversary I've been promised a 40 year old Glenfiddich.  I adore dark, dry stouts like Guinness - on the tap, thank you and pulled properly; and microbreweries.  My favourite wine is Merlot, and I'm a Jameson's girl - if I can get the fifteen year old variety I am a happy woman.  Midleton also is a good buddy.

I have recently fallen in love with Dead Guy Ale. I'm pretty sure Rogue makes it. Fantastic beer that's sort of light but still has a ton of flavor. Best on tap.

Hpnotiq + cognac is pretty good.  Turns bright green, and is called an Incredible Hulk.  Heh.

And speaking of Mountain Dew, a friend of mine had a drink the other night that she swore tasted just like it.  It was a Long Island iced tea, but swapped the cola for Midori and Sprite.  If I hadn't been driving, I would have tried it myself.

I picked up some of New Belgium's fall seasonal, Hoptober, today.  It's pretty tasty. :)

Haha. Well, if you take about 2/3 Mountain Dew and 1/3 HP, it tastes like a sweetened mountain dew. You can taste the alcohol at all. When I'm having friends over, it's always the drink of choice. By far better than anything I've ever had at a bar or club and I mixed it the first time on accident myself. :P

Personally I prefer rums, but none of the clear rums that you get out there. Mainly Captain Morgan, Kraken, Barton (terrible to shot drink, but not bad in a mixer) and a few others. I do like drinking whiskey straight actually, I feel fancy somehow with it!

Beer... I have a love/hate relationship with. Not the best tasting stuff at all, but drink about 15 of them and I'm lit. I do like me some Guinness, Blue Moon, Pyramid, Heffeweisen and a few others. I can't stand that draft stuff like Miller or Budweiser, they just suck.

Slaven

I can't stand beer personally..The taste is horrible and it's totally not worth the amount I need to get 'settled'.

Men in general judge more by the sense of sight than by that of touch, because everyone can see but few can test by feeling. Everyone sees what you seem to be, few know what you really are; and those few do not dare take a stand against the general opinion. Therefore it is unnecessary to have all the qualities I have enumerated, but it is very necessary to appear to have them. And I shall dare to say this also, that to have them and always observe them is injurious, and that to appear to have them is useful; to appear merciful, faithful, humane, religious, upright, and be so, but with a mind so framed that should you require not to be so, you may be able and know how to change to the opposite.

I like using Midori and honeydew melons to make nuclear melon balls.  Poke a hole into the melon just large enough for the bottle neck, all the way into the cavity.  Plonk the melon on top of the bottle, flip it over and stick it in the fridge overnight.  The next day, most of the liqueur (if not all) will have absorbed into the melon.

Agreed, the Midori would blend VERY well with the existing melon.

Now... Favorite drinks of mine... well, for beers I'm a Heinekin and and Newcastle fan, and harder drinks I'll drink good-quality vodkas or blended whiskeys straight in a glass, and mixed my favorite are Screwdrivers (Vodka, Orange Juice, Splash Grenadine) and the Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey in a 1:5 part mix with fresh apple juice (not sure if it's got a name or anything, but I call it an Honey Applejack :3)
