If this turns out to be a go, here's my stab at a character  :-)

Political character

Name: Justus
Gender: Male
Age: 19

Nation/Province: Italy, Rome
Occupation: University Student/competitive fencer

Personality: Like the Romans of old, Justus is a hedonist, refusing himself little in his pleasurable pursuits. His personality is mercurial and he can play the happy bon vivant one moment and show cruelty the next. He is not known for moderating his behavior but in fact he is more clever than most realize, often playing the part of the wastrel bastard to remain under the radar. As this is not entirely a fiction, it's an easy part to play. Fortunately he has the charm to make up for his flaws most of the time but it doesn't always work. he does not seem overly interested in politics, most often declaring such things tedious, and yet he always seems to know a lot about what's going on. He has many lovers of both sexes but forms emotional attachments to few.

Background: Galla Martius was a young noble woman, known for both her beauty and her bold and daring nature though her ambition was greater than all these things. She set her sites on the Emperor, and in a magnificent  feat of social climbing, managed to become his lover. They weren't long into their affair when she became pregnant, her goal all along, and when she gave birth to a son, she thought she would be set for life but it would soon become apparent she had seriously misjudged the depth of the Emperor's attachment to her. Suspecting she had manipulated the situation, he'd ended the affair, occasionally showing passing interest in Justus as he grew, providing mother and son a stipend to see to his education but that was the extent of generosity. It was a far cry of the glittering lifestyle she had imagined for herself.

She grew more and more bitter over the years, always happy to plant a poisonous word about the Emperor into the ear of her son but all the while hoping he could still be the tool she'd been hoping for to achieve her life of influence. Justus as a result grew up with a deep-seated resentment for his father and formed an intensely close bond with his mother but as he entered his teen years and began to understand that her affection waxed and waned with how much she thought she could get out of him and he has grown to have little use for her. In fact, now when she wants to see him, she has to bribe him or fake some kind of emergency to get him to come around. He is now for the most part disgrumtled with both of his parents.

Justus showed a talent for fencing at an early age which was fostered by his uncle, Aurus Martius, who became his trainer. Aurus is the one person in the world for whom Justus has complete respect and who can call Justus on his hijinks. Justus lately has been climbing the ranks of competitive fencing, the one thing he has exhibited any discipline for, which adds to his public mystique. His home is still technically the penthouse in which he grew up with his mother but he is never there, instead living the life of a gypsy, staying in hotels and the homes of friends and relatives.

Ambitions: Insiders would know that the Emperor's relationship with Justus is a bit rocky and that there has been in the past some discontent expressed on Justus' part with his role or lack thereof. But he has so far remained loyal to his father, knowing full well that what lifestyle he does enjoy is due solely to the fact of his parentage. This is not to say his loyalty couldn't be won by other parties if he saw enough of an advantage in it for him so he's kind of a unknown quantity to the various players at court. His motives are actually pretty simple at the moment, merely to be in position to manipulate whatever occurs to his greatest advantage.

Political Clout: Bastard or no, he is the son of the Emperor, and though not formally recognized, it is widely known. There are always those foolish enough to believe that currying Justus' favor will in turn earn the Emperor's but of course it rarely works out that. Justus is only too happy to reap the benefits of this particular train of thought however. He is also something of a celebrity, always drawing a crowd when he is out, his escapades constant fodder for tabloid TV and gossip blogs. As annoying as it is this earns him further perks that allow him to live the lavish lifestyle he so enjoys. He has gone out of his way to befriend the children of privilege, sons and daughters of important senators and diplomats who can often be found out on the party circuit with him. The more disgruntled they are with their family the better as they tend to be the most loose lipped. As a result he has some pretty interesting tidbits of information on some pretty influential people but has yet to stoop to blackmail, in fact, his reputation for being discreet makes others more inclined to confide him, but there is no telling what he would do with the information if his back were up against the wall.

Justus

PeacethatPowerbrings

Name: Empress Sara Catherine
Gender: Female
Age: 42

Nation/Province: Rome
Occupation: Empress

Personality: Usually cold, detached, but quite adaptable. Sara was born and educated to be a shrewd politician. She can be beguiling or threatening or any of a thousand variations thereof, depending on what she wants, and what mood she happens to be in. She is driven primarily by self-interest, but at the times she can relax she is at ease with the opulence to which she is accustomed, and enjoys it greatly.

Background: A member of the House of Romanov, Sara was born to be either the heir to the throne, or if a male heir were to appear, to be married for convenience. As she was already in her teens when her only brother was born, she was immediately an eligible political choice for marriage to foreign royalty. Only her own shrewdness placed her on the path to marriage with the Emperor in Rome. With relaxed tensions between Russia and Rome, she pushed to be sent to complete her education in Rome, and did so, using state functions to make herself an eligible choice for the unmarried Emperor. As she did, the political arrangements began to make themselves, as it seemed the two nations were moving closer to an understanding. She married the Emperor at 20, becoming Empress by virtue of her royal lineage, and the alliance it would forge with the House of Romanov in Russia. Sara was quick to solidify her ties to Rome, and to appear to disengage herself from Russia. Being young and beautiful, her popularity was widespread enough that her status as a foreign royal was quickly forgotten, in favour of her Roman culture, and old-world elegance.

Ambitions: Sara's ambitions seemed mostly fulfilled with her marriage to the Emperor, but in truth, her political goals are more far-reaching. She plays her own game at court, and tends to promote her own interests with allies domestic and foreign.

Political clout: The House of Romanov (Russia) is one of her major supporters. As a ruling family, it is predominant in Russia, and therefore can apply foreign pressure to Rome. Imperatrix Legion - As a Queen's Own unit, this Legion owes its loyalty to her, second only to the Emperor. Though usually just a formality, her guards are made up of units from this legion. Ladies in waiting - As Empress, her private court consists of ladies in waiting, who are spies and manipulators in their own right. Though they are known to the court at large, their attentions are usually taken as the attentions of the Empress, and their actions can indicate favour, or sometimes, danger.

I am filled with recollections of lives I have not lived.

Elias

Both the empress and Justus are approved and very nicely done one more character and ill begin making the other threads for us.

Vostroya

Name: Nerva Regillus
Gender: Male
Age: 22

Nation/Province: Rome
Occupation: Crown Prince, Heir to the Throne of Rome, Legatus of the XVIII Legion

Personality: Nerva is a true son of Rome. Young, handsome, intelligent, but mature in his demeanor. He is seen as a man of the people, being involved in the military as well as moderate amounts of domestic affairs. He is kind to his friends and people. Brutal and swift with his enemies as his military career has taught him. He is a private man when at court but warms up to the sight of a beautiful woman or intelligent man.

Background: Nerva was born both a Roman and a Russian through his mother. As a child he was extremely intelligent in his education and studies. Given high marks for learning throughout. He was able to attend prestigious universities and military academies throughout the empire and allied nations, giving him knowledge of the outside world. When he was only twenty, his father sought to know if his son would be like the Caesars of old, great military men instead of politicians as the recent trend had been. His trust was not destroyed as the young officer quickly began to rack up the victories and popularity amongst the soldiers in the India campaign, a fresh, new mind was needed to a stagnating war that was quickly turning into a war of attrition. In just two years Nerva went from a new officer to commander of an entire legion thanks to his father, and in that time, Nerva's legion had advanced farther into enemy territory and held it faster and longer than many other commanders during the on set of the war.

Now after his third tour of duty, he is now back in Rome on a long overdue vacation. His legion is also back with him as a reward for their service. With wine in their stomachs and medals on their chests. Many outside the empire fear if he continues to rack up victories, that Nerva will not stop at just India, but will press on elsewhere.

Ambitions: Nerva seeks to end the various wars that has Rome's military stretched thin. Although he wins many of his battles, he knows that Rome cannot just keep sending more and more resources to the furnace. He seeks quick and decisive victories in his campaigns, but his ultimate goals are the conquering of India and his newest sights are set upon finally bringing Germany under the heel of Roman Domination. He seeks to expand the Empire, no matter the ways to bring it about.

political clout: Nerva is very popular amongst the generals and military. His time as a soldier on the front in India along with his budding ability for command of the Legions has him akin to a war hero amongst the soldiers, who to often see commanders only concerned with their own power, Nerva gets in the dirt and grim with them, treating them as his own instead of his subordinates as many try to do. As with Rome of old and new a royal prince with success in the military is always hailed as a hero and man of the people within the cities. Since he has come home after a third tour of duty with his legion, he was given a parade of honor through the city to the Palace. His popularity amongst the population of the empire seems to grow every day. As the heir to the throne of Rome, he has begun to see all the political and underhanded tactics that are used everyday, and to his own surprise he is also very capable of handling his own affairs while keeping the politics at a distance. As the son of the Emperor, he also has access to the State's treasury ensuring that anything the prince could want, money would be of no issue.

Caela

Hehehehe...just on observation, but all of our women are fairly significantly older than our men. :)

Elias

you're right >.< Our oldest male is 22 our youngest female is 30. However our emperor is in his 50s so that should even it out,

Dez

Definitely interested -- will work out the specs later though if that's ok? Wonderful idea!!

Prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, love...
debate any other aspect of my faith these are the heavenly virtues. this flawed mortal is going to try to adhere to them.

Political character

Name: Marius Castus
Gender: Male
Age: 33

Nation/Province: Roman/Province of Gaul
Occupation: Tribunus Cohortis, Legion X Fretensis

Personality:  Castus is the essence of a Roman soldier:  Hard, honorable and severe; almost stern.  His stoic demeanor is amplified by his presence in court.  He has little use nor patience for courtly intrigue, but the fact that his legion is currently assigned to the Capital necessitates his presence among those whom he sees as dandies, fops, lickspittles and back-biters.  Uncomfortable in this environment, he keeps his passions firmly under wraps, putting forward a guarded demeanor, hoping simply to perform his duties, without becoming embroiled in plots and conspiracies.  In private, however, he is a deeply feeling man; warm and compassionate, particularly with those he loves.  His terse attitude can be overcome through an appeal to his honor or intelligence.  Some find him intimidating, some find him intriguing.  Some wonder what's underneath the surface.

Background: No aristocrat, Marius Castus is a man of humble origins, born to a peasant.  Hailing from the province of Gaul, he doesn't bear the typical Roman look, thus stands out among the "true" Romans.  Hoping to be somebody, he joined the Legion at a young age, quickly distinguishing himself in foreign campaigns as tough, intelligent and disciplined.  He rose through the ranks on his own merits, until he found himself commanding a cohort in Legio X Fretensis, one of the most prestigious and revered units in the entire Roman Legion.  He has served in numerous campaigns, most recently India, his cohort gaining a reputation as one of the most effective in the Legion.

Not being of noble birth, Castus is unable to rise to the rank of Legatus.  He does not mind this, preferring a more hands-on approach with his men.  Recently, however, he finds himself in Rome, his unit having returned from a long arduous tour of duty.  Administrative red tape has kept them there, idle, while the war continues.  Castus currently finds himself idle, forced to interact with the upper crust of Roman society.

Ambitions:  Desiring nothing more to return to the field, Castus chafes at his idleness, feeling stagnant.  His sole ambition is to finish the tasks assigned to him in the Capital, and return to the India campaign, where he belongs.  He hopes to keep himself separate from court intrigues and alliances, but it is no easy task to keep oneself from becoming involved...

political clout: Castus is loved by his men, always leading by example, fighting and suffering right alongside them.  The men of his cohort, and his legion at large would do anything for him.  He is utterly loyal to his superiors, believing in duty and honor above all; of course this can lead to problems when political forces  jostle for position.

GoodyWife

Are you still accepting submissions?

I saw this earlier and you were capping it, but it does not seem the case.

Was kinda thinking of a Mexican Bruja that skirts around the law. Drug dealer, espionage, that sorta thing.

We currently are at 6, if the enthusiasm keeps up I will obviously allow more. I honestly didn't expect such a positive reaction so I am just enthusiastic,

as for your character concept, depends how you tie her into the court? The rp is focused mainly on the politics and interpersonal exchange between the characters, if your able to make it sensible I will def. support it.

GoodyWife

It has been some years since I read Discources on Livy, but I recall that the Chicken Men were very important to the soldiers before battle. She would be a genuine Religious figure, just have her hand in very, very many pies for her Mexican senator. And hopefully his hand in her pie, if ya know what I mean, and I think you do.

Wow... Machiavelli and Joe Bob Briggs reference in one short paragraph. I should give myself a gold star. :P

Working on something actually concrete right now. Well, sorta. At a pause at the moment. *blink blink blink*

might I add some insperation:
this world's version of the American Flag

Name: Andrew Tomas Ironside
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Appearance a tall man with brown hair with grey at the temples, blue eyes, and a square jaw. Ironside is often in his blue dress uniform. (no pic seemed to fit)
Nation/Province: United States of America, New England.
Occupation: Diplomat, Former Two Star General.

Personality: Ironside is a Scholar Soldier, a thinking commander, and a student of Sun Tzu. outwardly he appears calm, polite, and ingelligent. his actions in war and in the back allies of rome speak of a more ruthless man and ardent patroit. More at home with merchants and the plebs than than the nobility he deals with, he has little patence for decadance and foppery. More at home drinking and swapping stories with legionares on leave or talking philophy with priests. that's not to say he doesn't perticipate in noble roman "customs."

Background: a veteran and war hero of the third Mexican American war, Ironside worked his way up the ranks as a tank commander. He and his Paladin Tank crew ranked a near hundred kills persionally. He also lead the american fourth division at the battle of Pacos Ridge, and the following counter attack destroying Legion VXI in the process. After the war he was attached to the American Diplomatic Corps to serve at the embassy in rome. In reality Ironside is a ruthless player of "The Great Game" a wolf hiding behind the face of a loyal and friendly dog. Assassinations are so commonplace in Rome that nobody bats an eyelash when a lesser noble turns up dead. Honor is paramount, second to victory. When recently challanged to a formal duel in the Collisem by an irate senator, the senator chose to allow traditional weapons Short Sword which he has spent decades mastering, Ironside simply shot him six times with the "traditional" american colt revolver. much to the delight of the crowd, the senator being an unpopular one.

Ambitions: Rome is rotting, everyone can see it but the romans. Ironside's mission isn't just to hasen it's demise, but extract information, subvert, and weaken. His goal is to strenghen his country while weakening the empire in any way that presents itself. This might mean causing buracratic foul ups, stealing intel, playing one side against another or supporting oppisition. if he can weaken roman support in mexico, premote democratic ideals, or offer assistance to enemies of the empire, he will do so.

political clout: Beloved by his troops and popular among his countrymen, his more important tools are his network of informants within the roman middle and lower classes. Servants, slaves, and the Plebian class are especally sympathetic to the American cause and Ideals. a chance to live free in america is more than enough of a bribe to make an illeterate slave strangle his master, or boil him in the bathwater.
Prudence, justice, temperance, courage, faith, hope, love...
debate any other aspect of my faith these are the heavenly virtues. this flawed mortal is going to try to adhere to them.

Culture: the ability to carve an intricate and beautiful bowl from the skull of a fallen enemy.
Civilization: the ability to put that psycho in prision for killing people.

Kakashiee

[Pic TBE]

Name: Amus Mortimus

Personality: He will do almost anything for his soldiers and the Emperor, as a soldier he always follows orders without hesitation and has one of the most well disciplined and best looking Legions in the Roman Empire.

When the XXVIIII was sent into India for further stability Colonel Amus and his Brigade began to produce results. The XVIIIth Infantry Brigade holds the record for the most weapons, spies, informants, and enemy soldiers captured and destroyed. They were given the tasking of stabilizing a 50 square kilometers of an urban city. Not only did they cripple the enemy's supply routes and information networks but they also equipped and retrained several thousand Indian Police Officers and taught them how to conduct counter-terrorism operations. After his major success in India he returned to Rome where he was promoted to General at the age of 30.

Ambitions: To do the bidding of Rome and eventually become the top Commander of the Entire Roman Armed Forces.

political clout: Many strong connections in India where he operated in, loved among his men, as Colonel he a pretty high paycheck and with his promotion to General it only rose. Slight interest in politics, but only when it could deploy him or promote him.

GoodyWife

Political character

Name: Marisol Guadalupe de la Cruz
Gender: Female
Age: 28

Nation/Province:Rome/Mexico
Occupation: Senator’s Wife

Personality: Marisol, or self-styled Mari when she is upon her knees, is a charismatic leader wholly content with the current hostilities with the Estados Unidos. The zeal on both sides of the fence allows her to operate in relative secrecy.

When the cameras are upon her, Marisol is a vision of Roman Catholic piety, using her considerable influence in the church to lend authority to her husband’s decisions. Upon her pulpit, she preaches perfect faith in God, the Senators and the Emperor to pull her people through the current hostilities, stronger and greater than ever.

Mari lives in opulent luxury independent of her husband’s palatial estate, where she practices native witchcraft and maintains a highly profitable drug corridor. She knows that he favors lesser women in his bed, preferring to spend his sanguine charm on native flesh. She supplies the drugs to which he is hopelessly addicted and manipulates his political vote through a series of go betweens she will curse or execute on a whim, ruling by fear.

Background:

Unlike her Spanish husband, whom she abhors with the all the wrath ascribed to God in the old testament, Marisol was born in a depressed economic area on the eastern coast of Mexico, her phenotype having much more in common with the indigenous cultures than those who have been touched by Roman blood. Her short stature, broad nose and piercing almond shaped eyes were what drew the then senatorial aide to her boudoir in the capital, though she was certain that there were as many girls of her coloring there that night. When he choked her, she struck him in the face, and the ensuing battle for supremacy ended with several cracked ribs and the single greatest moment she had in her life. In her drug addled mind, she touched the face of God that night, and no other would do.

Those months apart, Marisol proved her worth in resourcefulness. At fifteen years old, she slipped unbidden into the senator’s barracks and attacked the arrogant aide, riding him til he cried out. When he offered her a paltry price for disposing of a political enemy, she grinned and accepted. Marisol did not know it then, but he had expected her to meet armed resistance and die, but Marisol was far too clever. She learned the debauched governor’s habits and worked a powerful hex into the grounds his home was built upon. And when he tumbled from his bedroom with a dagger in his gut from the whore she had sent him, she slit his throat and completed the ritual. As proof of her deed, she slipped back into the aide’s room with a piece of mortified flesh bearing the governor’s SPQR tattoo and demanded her payment.

It might very well have been arranged by Marisol that the rising aide’s family should be informed of his dealings in the province, or that the band of thugs she maintained about her person intimidated the weakling into agreeing to their union, but few would dare to suggest that the aide’s meteoric rise to full senator was not directly tied to Marisol’s influence and efforts.

Ambitions: Marisol hopes to play the zeal of the Mexican American war to such a fever that none will recognize that she has placed her loyalists in key positions to stage a coup de etat. She is currently awaiting the results of political tensions with her husband’s native Spain and outlying provinces to determine the most successful timing.

political clout: Marisol maintains a number of connections to the criminal underworld, the Catholic Church, and boasts a number of passionate political enemies. She panders to them as an expert stage performer, playing each off each other to accomplish her goals. Her personal retinue consists of a half dozen heavily armored thugs whose loyalty she maintains with drugs and black magic.

So long as the gremlins are not exposed to water, sunlight, flashers impersonating Abe Lincoln in the park, or fed after midnight standards will be maintained!

Photo

Name: Josephine "Josette" Chloe Marceaux
Gender: Female
Age: Twenty-Six (D.O.B. - 06-07-????)

Nation/Province: French native.
Occupation: Ambassador to France in Rome.

Personality: Josette is airy, and the world is a bit of a playground in her eyes. She has failed to develop a serious face in all of her years. she's either, excited, happy, erratic, or pitiful. When the world does get difficult, she finds herself unable to deal with it, and would rather ignore the problem, walk away, pretend that it never happened, and move on with life. From a young age, she has been this way, and it was the perfect kind of mind for a politician. Her sense of humor is bland, and she's more used to hearing fake laughs then real ones. It should go without saying, that she can't tell the difference. Her view of things is askew, and she's a bit delusional, always seeing things much more simplistically than they actually are.

In one hand, she's a bit of a clutz, socially and physically. But, Josette has a brilliant mind. she's a undocumented mathematical genius. The numbers always fell into place for her. However, she never cared for the subject, and failed to do anything with it. She also excelled the sciences, language, and composition, making her indispensable to whomever finds her useful for more than half of a second. She speaks French, German, English, Spanish, and Italian. Her focus at the university ended up being in linguistics. In the end, she is a tragic image of modern intelligence. For, the girl is capable beyond belief, but without a goal in mind, she is destined to waste her education on superficial bullshit.

Background: Raised on the outskirts of Paris, Josette had her education paid for, and she attended a private girls school for the first ten years of her education. Her parents never re-located. Father Marceaux, a political man as well, never held office in the public eye. But his work behind the scenes of French proletarian men, woman, and principalities earned him a fantastic wage, and his wife never had to work. Josephine was an only child, and if it weren't for the strict lessons of her father's budget, and deserved property, she would have been spoiled.

In her teenage years, she related herself to Octavian of the Juliae. As she lost her virginity, lightly abused herself with substances and smoke, figured her mature lessons in school and out of school; Josette stayed on track, a scholar, and a dedicated woman. She found herself to be more stuck up than most of her peers; and, given a social circumstance at the age of fifteen, Josette stopped socializing completely. She alienated herself from all of her friends, and focused on her studies. It paid off. Ms. Marceaux earned her high-school diploma when she was sixteen and graduated as the Salutatorian for her class.

Accepted to Oxford, as well as three other prestigious European colleges, Josette considered going over one of the seas for school, but she stayed, decidedly becoming a woman of extreme aptitude. The classes were difficult, and being a seventeen year old girl in the middle of a place like Oxford was a real wake-up call. She was no longer the cream of the crop, and when it came down to it, she was a bit of a dunce upon arrival. If it weren't for her advanced placement, she likely would have dropped out of Oxford to attend a less aristocratic institution.

It took two years for her to adjust. An older boyfriend named Francis J. Loman, helped her with this task immensely. He was a senior at the University when she found him, twenty three years old, he fell deeply in love with the nineteen year old Josette. He was born, and raised only a few kilometers from the college. so, when he graduated, she still had an on-campus boy-toy that could help her with emotional concerns, sexual desires, academic follies, and even social distress. She collected a large circle of friends, and ended up earning a four year degree with a 3.45 GPA. It wasn't bad, but she was frustrated with her own mediocrity.

She broke up with Francis to return to Paris. It was painful, but the loneliness only lasted for a few months. It felt like she had left her whole life behind in Britain. It wasn't until she came back to France, that she realized her parents were the only people that she knew in the whole country, besides her professors from grade-school. Still ahead of the pack, Josette was only twenty one when she became a grad student at Descartes University.

Higher education treated her well, and the struggles of life diminished into shadow. She truely found herself here, and became learned enough to find a job with ease. With eight years of advanced study under her belt, this twenty six year old has taken on her first real trip into reality. With the connections that her father had sustained, she recieved her dream-job without difficulty. That is, of course, the diplomatic life between France and Rome.

Ambitions: At this point in Josephine's life, nothing is clear to her. Her only real ambition is to succeed at her job, and ultimately have children. She does feel like she is falling behind in the game of life now. she's closer to thirty then she would like to believe, and not a single prospect for a husband. Politically, she is bound to make money. It is likely that she will play her game, ultimately to earn the biggest payday imaginable. I do wish there was more to put here, but she's so young, and sheltered. Josette is fully unprepared for this complicated world of political intrigue. she thinks that she is, and she is not. That's the theme I'm working with for this character:
'No matter how much one tries to prepare for the world. It will always be one step ahead of you.' -In the case of Ms. Marceaux, the world is almost fifteen steps ahead of her. This girl is going to have some serious trouble keeping up, and her perfectly agile form of beauty may end up being the only real asset that she has.

political clout: Unless this is unacceptable, Josette will have none of this. Her father will have connections all over, and her name will carry her farther than her personality. But, I don't want her to be a power player. She should end up being a sleeper, the kind of person that makes a difference without the intention of it. She'll likely be an information sleuth, with a steel-trap mind and the illusion of innocense, men and women will likely trust her when they shouldn't.

And, As Always

Elias

I love the character, but we need one change she cant be an ambassador France is a province of Rome, she may be a Senator elected by the people or an administrator managing taxes or military matters from the province and therefore important to Rome (Think high end paper pusher who signs off on a lot and has a lot of behind the scenes power)

Photo

oops, i probably should have read the world info a little-bit closely. Sorry about that. Let's make her a administrator. she doesn't have the image of an elected offical in my opinion. with that little adjustment, she should be good to go, no?

Political character

Name: Aquil Tsostie
Gender: Male
Age: 34
Appearance: Standing at 6’2” he has a slim build with short cut dark black hair, green eyes, the high cheek bones of his ancestry and a light brown skin color showing his European ancestry as well. (If I find a picture that fits I might put it in.)

Nation/Province: Northern Confederacy
Occupation: Diplomat

Personality: Aquil has always been an adaptable person and has no issue pointing out the issues he sees in the use of the earth’s resources. He holds the traditional beliefs of his people close to his heart but he knows that they world has changed and he has to find a balance between what is and what was. He is cool headed but he will become angry quite quickly if a topic rubs him the wrong way. He also has not issue with ruining the life’s of others if it will advance what he sees as the greater goal that being said he avoids this as it will makes him just as many enemies as friends if not more.

Background: Raised in the town of Okotoks Alberta that now stands where the Blackfoot tribes used to cross the sheep river using the Big Rock as a landmark far before the first boats landed on the east coast. He grew up in a family that was very connected to the politics of the area with his father and three uncles on the councils of the town and the area around it. The importance of what was talked about when his uncles were over did not set in until he was brought to the Big Rock for a press conference where it was announced that a grant would be given to the medical communities to continue its research into traditional medicines. He had been in the house when his family had debated the wisdom of mixing tradition and modern forms of medicine which to him had seemed an unimportant but in the months after the announcement he noticed the boost in public support for the elders.

Not long after his family had moved to the east and settled in the capital where his father went from being an elected council member for a town of ten thousand residences to the head of a city council in the space of only a few years. It to Aquil a few months to get used to the size of the city and in that time he spent long hours in the sprawling parks that wound their way through the city. It was here that he first listened to the speeches give in at the base of hills with an audience of whoever would listen relaxing on the hills above as the speakers educated both the young and old on their ideas to bring the old ways back and have them help improve the world they were living it.

It was after one of these talks that Aquil engaged one of the speakers in a conversation and was invited to come a meeting held by a few of the speakers. In the months that followed He attended many of the meetings but he found that even though each person wanted the same thing they could never agree of their second and third objectives. He had refused try and persuade his father to meet with the men and women at the meeting when he was elected but when he suggested that they needed to make an official organization and get it recognized there was little debate. Over the next five years he went from being an observer in the group to being the head of Earths Children. He managed to balance his responsibility of finishing off the equivalent of a high school education and running EC. Once he had graduated Earth’s Children got his full attention. With the help of the original members Aquil watched as chapters sprung up across the Confederacy and through donation from both corporations wanting to put a good spin on their name and just regular citizens EC was able to fund the research into green energy putting the Northern Confederacy ahead of the rest of the world in its Solar and wind technology and the application of that technology.

Ambitions: He can see the fall of Rome coming but even though he cannot be positive it will happen anytime soon he has decided that he will do what he can to make the eventual fall of the Roman empire be as empowering for the Northern Confederacy as he can. If he can hasten Rome’s fall from power he will have no problem doing what he can in that respect as well.

political clout: He has quite a bit of wealth  saved up from the success of EC but this is not his only asset. Through both his family and the connections he has made over the years with EC he has the ear of many people of power in the NC, Brittan and corporate CEOs in the United States. To him his most valued asset is the connection he has maintained in many of the R&D think tanks that not only work with EC but has contracts with the NC government. He received a few gifts from friends in the labs when he took the diplomatic position in Rome.

Marisol is approved
Amus is approved
Andrew is approved
Marius Castus is approved my only question is the picture you're aware this is modern 2012 Rome nothing in your CS confirmed it for me.

Please add your sheets to the thread and chat amongst yourselves in OOC when I see five players approved and that final add to your sheet I will begin the IC!

Duly noted, modern-day it is.  I just thought who better than Lucius Vorenus for the image.  Thanks for the approve!
