Monster University

Plot

A small university tucked in the southern peninsula of Hokaido is in the process of being taken over by monsters. How this takeover furthers their goals is mostly unknown. A group secretly known as the saviors of humanity has endeavored to stop them. Thus, Henkaku University has become a battle ground for the heart, soul, and libido of its students and faculty.

MAWD (Monsters Aligned for World Domination) is using sexual draining techniques to steal the life force of young people to store in another dimension. The powerful aura of human life is then used to for a variety of purposes, ranging from strengthening monsters, teaching them new techniques, and most importantly for creating artificial portals that allow monsters to escape from realm X.

While some monsters can be defeated by conventional means, this is very risky and often leads to permanent transformations of those who come into conflict with the monsters. The only people who can safely (At least somewhat) defeat these monsters are people with special abilities. In order to use those special abilities in battle, they have to be or become female. These warriors are known as Saviors, and the only ones who can defeat high level monsters are Saviors. Due to the high level of energy required to create a savior, very few are inducted. Yet, oddly enough, the organization of the Saviors has found that
former boys transformed into Saviors gave off a special resonance that if harnessed was especially deadly to monsters. It was also a great excuse to make sure everyone fighting as a savior was a woman.

The Sanctuary of the Saviors is the organization founded to cultivate the ability of saviors and other humans to fight monsters wherever they are found. It's central location is unknown, but it is in charge of dispersing the limited forced available for monster fighting and hunting. It also is responsible to see that those with limited ability pass the torch on to fresh talent, as only a limited number of saviors can be maintained. The saviors, thusly, prevent monsters from getting out of control, overpopulating, and committing other acts of violence against innocent humans.

Character Types Needed

Saviors: The warriors who battle monster most effectively. They can warp their sexual energies to actually drain the monsters as a last resort attack if raped by a monster. Choice of armor outfits and weapons can determine the mood and modify the style of each individual savior. Dress spheres are used to convert ordinary clothing into armor outfits. THERE IS A VERY LIMITED RATION OF THESE CHARACTERS, PLEASE DO NOT FEEL BAD IF YOU CAN NOT BE A SAVIOR!

Support: Those who support the saviors, these can be former saviors, staff of SOS, ordinary humans with fighting ability, ordinary humans who endeavor to simply be there for the saviors, or anyone who can provide support and comfort to the saviors in any way. Sometimes monsters even become support and fight against their own kind.

Monster: There is a huge range of monsters, they can be played as NPCs and used as fodder or played as characters.

Alpha Monsters: Alpha monsters are leaders of their type, or a specific monster clan, or generals in MAWD's army. They are normal monsters, but have become renown for whatever skill makes them stand out. Most Alpha monsters are posers who can take human form, or humanoid, but this is not always the case.

Familiars: These are humans who work for the monsters. They might be influenced, blackmailed, bribed, drugged. Sometimes a human hates humanity and will do the bidding of monsters for no particular reason. Sometimes humans become infatuated with certain monsters and become their slaves.

Faculty: The faculty of Henkaku University, they will be listed. Anyone who wants to play a faculty member can create one of their own or use one from the list. Faculty members can be familiars, support for Sos, or former SoS members. Or they might just be normal humans trying to help students succeed.

Students: The students of Henkaku university. A lot can happen to a normal student, so it is advisable to be on your guard. Seriously, your character could choose to become anything, sex fodder, a familiar, a monster, SoS support, or even a Savior.

Two Specifically Needed Player Characters I am Hoping for

The New Saviors- I need a player to start as a male character and get pulled into the world of the saviors by the actions of my SoS support character, Misako Wantanabee. After his induction, this character will gradually become a woman as he is trained. The transformation will take the first week of his training to complete. This is a special character to the plot, and will require a detailed and eloquent writer willing to have their character undergo a magical sex change. The psychology of this character will be put to the test as he transforms more and more with each passing day. The SoS will handle all the changing of information and identification, the character will have to deal with the more awkward aspects of the change.

The love interest of the new Savior- She would be a student who has a relationship with the new Savior. How will she react as her boyfriend changes over the course of the week. Will she see through his denials? Will she still have feelings for him once he is no longer a he?

The Scene

This takes place at the campus of Henkaku University. It is a university saddled to a small student town. The campus and the town is surrounded by wilderness.

QuoteA guide to Monster types for those who want to play Monsters

Most monsters will fall into these categories. The monster powers are less structured but are more defined by what category they belong in or what they are. Some categories have more types of monsters, such as the chimera type, chimera type monsters can take so many forms they are almost limitless. Please feel free to create new monster types and send them my way, especially in the chimera species, though I have many ideas myself.

Cells- Very low level monsters that cause mischief and feed of the sexual energies released. They are commonly invisible. Of low intelligence, they can still be dangerous when their numbers get to high. They breed and die at precarious rates. A cell that has grown very strong will usually grow into a blob.

Blob- These are your amorphous blob type monsters. They are composed of any viscous material, sometimes harmless, sometimes poisonous, sometimes even acidic. The more sentient blob type monsters are sometimes shape shifters and can maintain certain shapes or forms. They can be made of slime, gel, sludge, or  any other form of viscous fluid. They have a tendency to form multiple gelatinous tentacles when aroused. They sometimes produce Cells using various methods and depending on the season.

Chimera- These can only be described as a mix of multiple earth based animal species or sometimes a genetically altered version of an animal designed to feed off human sexual energy and liquids. They are usually not sentient and work based solely on a drive to feed. Their attentions often hurt and kill their victims so they are considered highly dangerous. Believed to be MAWD experiments gone wrong. All these monsters have some type of tentacles, either retractable or not.

Plant- These are plants that have been altered by MAWD scientists and shamans. They come in various shapes and forms depending on what the plant they are based on is. For some reason, most trees are resistant to becoming monsters. It seems that sentient plant monster species are not overly numerous. Which is a good thing, considering it would be bad if the human food supply became monsters! They can grow roots at a fast rate and use them to feed.

Posers- Sentient monsters that take human form or were human once. They are shape shifters that lure girls into sexual encounters. Tentacles can spring from any portion of their body and they are very well endowed with an extendable main tentacle. Posers are exceptionally talented at influencing cells and Parasites.

Parasites- Small monsters that take the form of shells, jewelry, or precious stones. They exude a mental pheromone that attaches them to their potential victims. When they strike, they sprout tentacles and become a permanent fixture on the hosts body, sucking out all the energy they can while keeping their victims in a constant state of arousal. Magical girls are immune to these parasites.

Ghost- Some entities that have not found rest after death become monsters. They have abilities related to the ectoplasmic nature of their existence and can only affect the physical plane with great effort. Some feed of the sexual energy of victims through possession of weak willed or indecisive individuals. Sometimes wiley and clever, they can become leaders or instigators of other monsters.

Incubus-  Male humanoid monsters that have often been mistaken for demons of lure. They have a very strong command over the astral plane and can transfer between the dimension of monsters and the dimension of humans at will. They are very rare and tend to either have mastery over an element of their choice or super human strength. They can feed off of human foods and store sexual energies within their bodies so they can lay low and still have an energy supply. Their attentions alter their victims body to devote more energy to sexual desire and cause enhanced sexual characteristics. Girls who get involved with an incubus are courting death, and even if they do survive, they’re bodies are usually so focused on sex at the expense of everything else that they eventually wear out and die. This type of monster is extremely rare.

Succubus-  Female humanoid monsters. One of the few monsters that find the sexual energy of males more tasty! They have the same powers and abilities as an incubus. A man may be happy to find one until all his life energy is converted into seed, leaving a dried and discarded shell once the victim is dead. Anyone who survives a sexual encounter with succubus will probably die from having overly large and active genitalia and sex drive at the expense of the rest of their body. Even a brief touch from a succubus will result in significant enlargement and enhanced seed production. They are also very rare.

The Rules

As you can see this is somewhat different animal as it is a plot structured role play. There will be some rules.

1. All characters will be 18 +
2. If you play a major character be active. Don't commit to a major character if you have activity trouble.
3. Stick to the basic idea of your character if you're a main character.
4. No controlling other characters actions in your posts.
5. There may be battles and fights, but no battle move is an automatic success. Give your opponent the ability to counter, and remember that if it seems strained it probably is. Most of the fights should have agreed upon outcomes.
6. If the game masters and Co-game masters say no, then it is a no. All characters are subject to approval.

All about what I like!

Tokugawa Eirin is still prepared to be of use still
Psycho Mantis: You must spend every day pretending to act like you're falsely letting on that you aren't not unbetraying someone you don't not purport to allegedly not work for but really do! How do you keep all this shit straight without having an aneurysm?

Laughing Hyena

#4
Player Name: Laughing Hyena

Character Name: Areku Nasutaeru

Age: 22

Alignment: Neither

Status: Student/Monster (Poser)

Powers:

Oilslick: A deadly hybrid ability combining the dual mastery of shadow and flame, the King is able to bestow darkness with a greasy consistency and flammability. With a modicum of concentration he wills the shadow of an object or a person into a physical state that can then be used as fuel for his supernatural flames to consume and grow.

Dangerous Consumption: The more fire in the King's environment, the greater his abilities become. Though capable of feasting upon any source of heat he is truly in his element only when wreathed in an inferno, using it to heal his wounds and augment his combustive power. This can also be a deadly technique--if the King devours too much the raging flames in his heart will begin to crack through the skin, bursting out in superheated geysers. These wounds are then rapidly healed, but the constant need for regeneration takes a heavy toll unless the excess energy is released in some fashion.

Shadow Step: The Fallen King's manipulations and affinity within darkness is uncanny. The Shadows whilst not as swift as light can rapidly overcome it and engulf everything and all darkness is connected. Using his affinity over Shadows and a touch of his essence he can step into a shadow that is able to fit one man and then step out from another shadow of similar size within a mile of his initial starting point. In combat he uses shadows to give himself superior position against his opponents as the need arises however it is also useful for an escape route should he be in need of it.

Ebon Shadow Shape The Fallen King has the ability to give shadows a solid form of his choice. Focusing his will into the desired form and with some of his essence the Fallen King can use his own shadow or similar shadows of suitable size to create an object crafted of the magical metal soul steel. With a man sized shadow he often creates a one handed melee weapon of incredible strength and resilience. With larger shadows he can create other objects and typically will set traps up for others should they decide to take the fight into his domain in the form of cages or similar restraints to create a distraction. He cannot create complex devices such as clockwork devices or such with this, but he can make cages, pendulums and so forth. The other drawback is that using these shadows for this function uses them for the entire duration. For example if he uses the shadow of a building to create a rolling sphere of metal the building will no longer have a shadow of its own until dispelled.

Gluttony of Flames: The Fallen Kings flames are ravenous and spread more quickly then normal flames. His typical manipulations of flame take place amongst the impossible creating barriers and spheres to corral and trap his opponents  or used in conjunction with his other powers to create powerful combinations to decimate his opponents. Using them for attacking or defense by means of projectiles or to shield himself from elements that deal greater harm to him then most by immolating himself after taking an oil bath. The supernatural flames can quite easily melt mundane metals such as steel or iron into slag after an extended period of time.

Flight: Gifted with wings of shadows and flame the Fallen King can take flight at incredible speeds with a maximum of 30 miles per hour.

Personality: As a human Areku was always uncertain yet comfortable about his future. He didn't mind living life day by day and sought comfort in the mundane. His loyalty to people he cared for was virtually unshakable and his mind was content in helping others reach their dreams over his own. A natural servant of others. When his ascension into something a touch more then human came he found panic and unrest. Suddenly he found himself on his own and thrust into a completely alien situation. He wanted to wake up from it in his warm bed and enjoy a simple breakfast. Now uncertain and uncomfortable within this new fate and his lot in this now elongated life he is trying to grasp and control what is happening whilst feeling changes not just in his body but his mind as new spark begins to form. The Gift as other fellows of MAWP would suggest takes many forms but it is uncertain how his will manifest... if he survives to see that.

Appearance:

Human Form

Monster Form
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide

Background: Areku was never a risk taker and always tended to play by the rules. Every day was the same routine for him and he was content with it. Friends came and gone and his hopes were to become a game creator of many variations and as such he pinned all his hopes within the Hokaido University. Never would he imagined what laid in store for him. Akira needed some help with a project and duped Areku into helping him catch photographs of the ladies locker room. Before Akira could make Areku a fully ascended Poser however the brave teddy bear like entity Nigel blew the whistle by breaking into the window itself. Areku and Akira bolted and right then and there Areku wanted nothing more to do with him. Unfortunately the camera had the ability to induce lust and the presence of Akira was quite infectious.

The next day at the university Areku began to have a higher libido and attraction to both beautiful teacher and nurse alike. The nurse however fell victim in full to Areku's new found charms, the moment that Akira had hoped for had come. Areku in the throes of wild sex in the nurse's office began to mutate and shape shift into his new true form. Terrified beyond rationality along with the nurse, Areku fled the University by means of his newfound wings stealing away the nurse. Areku's natural abilities to induce lust in women enthralled the nurse into not talking about what happened so long as he fed her newfound sexual appetite. Areku just wanted to wake up from this nightmare. That never happened and all he could do was try and hide what he was but Nigel however did know. In fact it was Nigel that nearly exposed Areku by pulling the fire alarm on them during a steamy session with the rather insistent nurse.

Areku was brought before the unofficial Student Discipline Committee with both teacher and students trying to condemn his actions though they thankfully knew nothing of Areku's new nature. However with his adamant arguments and unknowing abilities he made the Student head renounce the club and though she had a hold of Nigel the entire time it was Nigel who reaped the benefits of Areku's newfound lust inducing powers. Meanwhile the teacher that had rejected Areku as a human now came fully around to him due to his influence. She fed her new found addiction to sex with him in a locked class room despite Areku trying to politely insist that she shouldn't with how she was engaged to another more better person. Areku was coined by her as a dangerous but attractive person and indeed he is however unknowingly. Just how Akira had hoped... Only time will tell whether Areku can ever overcome his new nature or fully succumb to it.

Well, thank you for that praise.

But trust me Chrystal, Kuriko is definitely needed.

Haibane

Question for the GM - will we use the old game threads and continue them on, thus keeping the old story as part of earlier events in this story? If we do not I'll drop out as I didn't want a new game, merely a revamped and moved-on old game.

Nazora

Actually, I was going to rename the old threads, but also possibly divide them to create some new ones. I really don't want to lose the existing posts. I was certainly thinking of having a new OOC though, as a fresh opening for new players, if we get them.

On characters who already exist, just simply edit your characters so that a few years have taken place and line them up to the new character template. I might request changes to your characters, it will be up to you whether to accept them or not, but if I need to changes they will be needed to play.

I need at least a few key characters, and three new players. I'm not going to start anything until I get the key character for the gender change role. If we don't get him, then I'm going to consider discontinuing this game or handing it over to a new gm. The main reason I started this game is for a theme I've never had chance to pursue to my satisfaction, so I'll see if I can reincorporate that theme into the game first. I'd also like to have one new player, at least one, it seems pointless to put a recruitment post up only for the existing players to return.

Alrighty, how far on in time will the new game be set? I would like to know so as to see if any of my existing characters would still be around.

schnookums

So sorely tempted...I've been away for a bit, but I've always had a thing for a gradual MtF transformation, and it just never comes up in any RP I've managed so far.

Silk

If snookums doesn't want to take the role of MF transform I will go for it if you'll have me :)

Haibane

I think there's more than one role open in fact, not entirely sure. We had three girls last time.

Chrystal

I think there are also lots of roles for support characters from what I read in the opening post?

Bloody Rose

Do you still need the male that transforms into a female?

schnookums

I sadly think I need to bow out...I want to try this, but....lately my availability has been not the greatest, so I'd rather someone who can fully commit take the role.

Nazora

Been away a few, but happy to see activity

The game is going to move ahead by at least six months, but not more than two years, I don't want to age the existing characters too much.

Yes, I still need one role for a very specific Savior who will undergo a male to female transformation that will have to be played by someone who can take subtle hints and directions in the process of their change. I need someone who is capable of writing  concise and clearly written paragraphs, and a writer who is capable of comprehending the posts of those the writer is working with. I need to see character profiles so I can get an idea of how well the part can be carried and if the concept is being grasped. Just because you may not be suited for this particular role doesn't mean you can't participate and grow as another character.

There is nearly limitless space for support roles, which can allow creative writers to go as far with the story as they want to. There can also be a few more Saviors, but these roles will be held for experienced writers.

I expect things can happen in this role play, so someone who is playing a student might undergo a gender transformation, or become a monster, or a hostage. Nothing will be static, players characters can change roles within the course of the story depending on what happens. Support roles can sometimes be a bigger part of the story than even the main characters if played well.

Laughing Hyena

Speaking of which I'd have to ask Haibane a few question on this. If this takes place a few years ahead I gotta come to a consensus on what happened.

Haibane

If Nazora can tell us how much time has moved on then we can decide if any of the original students are still there and what happened to them. Six months to a couple of years would mean all the characters are still there, assuming university degrees are 3 to 4 years.

Callie Del Noire

Nazora

For the main role or any position as one of the Saviors, I need people who can write multi-paragraph and can really delve into all the little details of their situation. So it will require a writer who can be detailed while following the the situation.

For the other roles I need all sorts, if you want to play as a student or a support or even a faculty it doesn't matter how much you post or how much content is in your post. However, if you put more work into your character others will recognize that and you may find yourself interwoven into whatever plots are being plotted. If you prefer to stand off and give short posts without much detail you will still be involved, but not quite as much.

If you want to be a part of this, I need to see a profile. Please be aware that I might not accept you as a savior. In fact, I probably won't because so few are going to be available. In that case I might suggest other roles for your character if I think the profile is workable somewhere else.

Silk

Well I would like to think I could've met your criteria for the savior character, but I have a feeling that it will not be up to your standard. Although I think I may have to pass on the support role as well, considering I don't really want to be a third wheel in a game for some overarching plot. Would kill any sort of motivation to keep interest in a game in the long run, if I'm just destined to be some kind of hanger on/groupie/comic foil/aquaintence for the main cast.

Laughing Hyena

give it a try Silk. Theres no penalty in doing that at least

Nazora

Actually in most cases the other characters have taken the spotlight. It all depends on how well you integrate your character into the story. And since multiple arcs go on at one time any character can have a major role. Many of the other players began characters as NPC's  that developed into vital characters. So it is simply not true that a non Savior character isn't important or part of the main cast. In fact, if everyone was a Savior character the game would be rather boring. It needs monsters, students, faculty to take various roles in order to succeed as a game.

Silk

I'll think about it, its just I've had some bad experiences in games like this, with what ultimately became systematic sidelining of players.

Laughing Hyena

Example of that being that Areku didn't have a huge part. Was meant to be a tragic figure trying to fight his own nature and find some semblance of being normal once again. Yet he seemed capable of... stealing the show almost. Heck much of the happenings were around what he did or what he was doing or how characters reacted to him.

You sound quite negative about this so it seems you've had a bad experience or two in the past.

The issue is, if you are a good writer, imaginative and competent and able to flexibly use NPCs and keep a sharp eye on complex plot elements and continuity then even if you start off as a minor character, the character will be drawn into a main plotline because we need writers with that capability.

As an example, in the first version of this game I played a minor role of a sidekick to the magical girls who was a kind of magical crutch to them but whose physical form was a cute talking teddy bear. Eventually he grew into a major character with significant plot elements of his own.

So what I'm saying is, if you're a great writer, we'll treat you with the respect your skills deserve and give the characters you create the limelight and main story lines. What we won't do is abuse the talents of a great writer and dump you in an endless series of cameo roles or sideline you where your skills are wasted, that would be both pointless and a loss for everybody.

Chrystal

Another good example: I joined this game fairly late, at Haibane's invitation. I had some difficulty at first in figuring out exactly how my character could fit in. She was just a minor character, and could easily have been sidelined, but between everyone we came up with a role for her as a normal person who was trying to figure out what was going on.

And then I created a monster character and the entire swimming pool scene was built around her!

Still thinking about it, sorry for seeming negative, just had some major blows to my pride lately. With failing university and such..

Mind you it was a long time ago. But what you need is some good honest fantasy to take your mind off things!

TURN ONs and TURN OFFs

Nazora

Welcome.

Actually, that may work, though your character would be Japanese so it might be hard to be a war veteran. I know Japan participated in some support roles during the war on terror, but I'm not sure of any combat involvement whatsoever. Unless their are some Japanese special forces I don't know of. If you want, you can make up a unit for your profile history. A fictional special forces unit would be an acceptable work around.

Feel free to submit a profile, make sure it meshes to the setting. I strongly prefer any pictures be anime or manga, it is not a hard rule but such has been the consistent pattern and it would be awkward to break with it.

Well heres one for the transformed char.

Player Name: Silk

Character Name: Alex Mccale

Age:19

Alignment: SoS

Status: Student/Savior

Powers: Empathic healing (instead of healing outright, He/she assumes the wound onto herself, preferably tied with increased regeneration) Wound transfer (opposite of empathic healing, gives her own wounds to the other person.)

Personality: A cheerful youth that has always been comfortable in his sexuality, Alex spends a lot of time outside listening to his music, Mostly having a taste for forign metal music instead of his homes popular choices. Although he is generally cheerful he always found extremes of mood to be incredibly annoying. Because of that
he's often seen with several other mellow individuals who are not known to be too far in either direction of personality. Dispite this, he doesn't have a bad thing to say about anyone, either because there is nothing bad to say, or because he doesn't feel its worth the hassle of getting involved in the politics of school popularity
and slander. Having a tendancy to only keep within his small circle of friends, Alex has always been the type of guy that would just be overlooked in most cases.

Background: Alex is of a natural Japanese descent, being an only child Alex was always finding ways to entertain himself, which resulted in him having a huge interest in music, Throughout his life nothing of any particular note happens, which suited Alex just fine, he just couldn't find interest to really bring himself into other peoples buisness in the same way as he never expected others to get involved in his. Because of this he is sometimes seen as aloof by the rest of his classmates however overtime he has created his own small circle of friends who each have similar interests to himself. Throughout his years at school Alex has been completely
oblivious to anything out of the ordinary, although this is soon to change as peoples lack of interest in him will result in him not being missed.

Sorry this took so long. I spent most of last night researching the Japanese "military." But here he goes:

Player Name: Etah dna Evol

Character Name: Taira Haro. He will respond to Taira but never Haro and if you ask him what to call him, he would tell you that Chief is adequate.

Age: 27 years old

Alignment: Sanctuary of the Saviors

Status: Staff (rather than faculty, since he’s not a professor)

Powers:
Gunslinger: While most soldiers favor long rifles with high rates of fire, Haro favors and is eerily accurate with, heavy pistols. He can fire one pistol with both hands with nigh supernatural accuracy at range, or can fire two pistols (one in each hand) with exceptional accuracy. The speed at which he draws the pistols does not detract from their accuracy.
Silence: Even when he doesn't intend to move quietly, his footfalls can't be heard. When Haro intends to be silent, his ability to run and shuffle without making any audible noise draws comparison to the mythical ninja. His exceptional speed does not make his movements any louder.
Speed: Haro moves several times faster than the average human, both in running and in body movement.
Note: While Haro possesses these abilities, they are not conscious. He believes them to be the result of elite military training and so does the casual observer.

Personality:
Haro was not just an orphan, he is an aberration. He had no parents, no family; nobody knew anything about his parent’s life or his birth. It was as if he didn’t exist before the Priests received him at the Morning Star Orphanage, or that he fell from the sky. Not knowing what to do, or what to tell people, he hid shame. He sought never to excel in sports or academia as to never be noticed, he never let anybody too close, or told anybody about his life.

As a teenager in school Haro was a ghost. He dressed in all black, stood silently in the back of the class room, and no one seemed to know him outside of school. As a young cadet, he remained a loner, but dated here and there, nothing serious. He still didn’t let anyone close to him, that pattern would repeat for the rest of his adult life. Haro had a girl in every port, but tended to spent his nights alone.

The young Chiefs mindset and demeanor could be labeled; quiet competence. He is not loud or obnoxious, he doesn’t brag much and he doesn’t rush headlong into a fight when the first opportunity presents itself. He is not easily startled and coolly reacts to difficult situations, choosing the most appropriate action. Some have seen that as a form of reluctant or even cowardice, but the sailors that fought under him appreciated his calm, cool demeanor, as it saved their lives more than once.

Appearance:
Haro is fairly slim but stands over six feet tall. His skin is fair, smooth, has few blemishes or scars and no tattoos. His hair is black and though he has let it grow out some, he still gets it cut often and wouldn’t be comfortable with long hair. He is light on his feet and fast as hell when he needs to be, or slow and deliberate when he can be, and he can go between the two when needed. He tends to wear a simple black version of the military inspired gakuran.

Background:
Born in 1985, Haro’s birthplace is unknown; and the orphanage told him both his parents were dead he had no family, and they also told him they don’t know the cause of their death. Found as an infant, somehow, by someone, he was raised by Catholic Missionaries in the city of Sendai at the Morning Star Orphanage. In primary school and lower secondary school he received B’s and C’s, and was a reliable, though never a stand out student. He didn’t have friends and was noted by councilors for having underdeveloped social skills.

The Morning Star Orphanage took care of students through their lower secondary schooling and graduated them after that. So in 2001 Haro joined the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force’s youth cadet program. There he felt accepted in a way he didn’t among the Priests of the orphanage or his peers in public school. He would stay in the youth cadet program for four years, earning his upper-secondary equivalency after which time he joined the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force as a Petty Officer 3rd Class or Santō Kaisō, the first noncommissioned officer rank.

While a part of the youth cadet program, Haro was chosen to join the Special Boarding Unit, an elite counter-terrorist group that is based off of the British Special Boat Service and is a rough equivalent to the US Navy SEALs. In 2005, upon graduating the cadet program he traveled to Narashino, Japan not far from Tokoyo. There he underwent fifteen months worth of training in Japans Special Security Program. Upon completing that training he was shipped to the Naval Academy Etajima, which was located in Etajima city near Hiroshima, for thirty-six weeks of intensive training that ended with him earning his place in the Special Boarding Unit.

In 2007 the newly minted Japanese soldier was sent off to the Indian Ocean as a Petty Officer 2nd Class or a Nitō Kaisō, almost immediately upon graduating. He would stay there for a year boarding ships with cargo bound for the black market, before returning to Japan. Less than a year later, in early 2009 Haro was sent to Somalia as a Petty Officer 1st Class or a Ittō Kaisō. In Somalia Haro led a team in anti-Somali piracy operations. They boarded pirated vessels, rescued hostages and seized cargo for just over a year before being recalled to Japan.

As it turns out, Haro was recalled to Japan only for two reasons; the first was to promote him to Chief Petty Officer or Kaisō-chō, making him one of the youngest Chiefs in the Maritime Self Defense Force. The second reason was to install Haro as the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the new Japanese base in Djibouti, Africa on the coast of Aden. Djibouti was another anti-piracy operation and they protected Japanese boats driving past and proactively boarded and seized pirate vessels.

After a month of leave and five months of desk duty, Haro reached the end of his six year enlistment. Though he valued his service in the Maritime Self-Defense Forces, he felt it was time to move on. The young Chief felt that he was good at what he did in the military and would never grow as a person, if he stayed in that environment. So in lieu of reenlisting, he signed a year’s contract with the infamous Triple Canopy Inc. He traveled to Iraq where he stayed for three hundred and forty four days. It is a time that scared him deeply and he still refuses to talk about.

After his tumultuous year in Iraq, Haro stepped out of the higher levels of security, which are little more than Special Forces mercenaries. He found a job with SECON CO, the largest Japanese security company on the island, though the move effectively made Haro an overqualified security guard. SECON CO through either luck or providence assigned Haro to its Henkaku University location. The former Chief contacted the Chancellor immediately and began making travel arrangement to the site.

TURN ONs and TURN OFFs

Chrystal

Well, it's not my call by any means, but if this were a democracy, both characters would get my vote.

Just out of interest, Naz, I would like to keep my two existing characters, as "back-ups". The creepy thing in the pool would, presumably, have been beaten by the ... Saviours as we are now calling them? And retreated to the filtration system to lick her wounds.

In the mean time, Atsuko would have continued her research, being thwarted by both MAWD and SoS, who both want to remain covert.

I think it would be entertaining to have her be pursued by a male character, whom she repeatedly snubs, only to have that male suddenly turn into a girl....

Of course, Kuriko would be my new main character.

I don't think I actually posted her, just the two images I found for her.

So, consensus please: Should I reveal the nature of the Queen of MAWD, or should I keep her secret for now, known only to the GM and her deputy?

Please check out my latest A/A post.

Silk

Well if this char falls through I got another one in the works.

Nazora

Okay, Profiles Read.

Silk, I noticed a few inconsistencies in your profile. You character is of natural Japanese descent but has an American name, and there is no explanation for why this is. Also, in Alex's background, you mention he has a small circle of friends that share similar interests but say in the next sentence that no one would miss him if he disappeared.  I would think if he was cheerful and laid back his group of friends would be close knit.

The powers are okay, but they need to be refined. I need more details on them specifically. How much can she use the power? What types of wounds and injuries can she heal? What does she have to do to activate her powers? I would think the limits of her power depend on the severity of the wounds/ailments and the number of times she has transferred them. She should have a limited number of transfers per day. I also think using the power should cost her by making the ailment or wound slightly more severe. These powers wouldn't be activated until she was working for SoS. Would these be her only powers, she might need a few abilities. I would think something defensive to protect her for a limited period, given the support theme of your character.

I like this character, but I think the gender change wouldn't add much of anything to her and that she should just be female. I'm also seeing her as a support unit, given that her powers involve healing.

Personality wise, just a bit more outgoing and less overlooked would be loved by myself and a few others.

It might be a good idea to find a pic of her in a uniform that she might wear when her powers are activated.

And I totally wouldn't mind seeing your other character.  ;D

Sure, you can keep any existing character, and reuse them as much as you like.

Oh, I say keep her a secret for now, adds to the suspense, though it probably won't remain a secret for long.

Etah

I like this character, just try not to play him as too dry and silent. We'll need to see his civilian side as well as his warrior side. You put a lot of effort into his military career and it seems to work. I think you have a character that would be worth making another character around. I like your attention to detail. I like that you research your subject matter.

I'm thinking you may have to play this character as a plain security officer at the university for a bit to flesh him out before he starts becoming a savior. But I could see a lot of things happening around him should you keep him around.

What I'm seeing, is that SoS possibly had a hand in bringing him to the university.

If he's a candidate for Savior he needs some latent powers. I would think something along the lines of military training, though maybe a bit cute and exaggerated. You might want to add something to your profile to create a style for him when fighting evil monsters.

I already have a picture for him if his induction as a Savior is completed.

yeah figured my character wouldn't be up to par. Geuss I'll drop out. Obviously not in the right frame of mind, nor what you guys are looking for. Thanks for your consideration and sorry for wasting your time.

Etah dna Evol

Latent powers added and I had planned to play him as a security officer at the university for awhile. From school to the Maritime Self Defense Force he has lived a cloistered life and hasn't had the room or ability to grow as a person. I figured he could gain more character as cute high school seniors swoon over him and teachers hit on him etc. I also figure that one person within SoS brought him over with an agenda and that most of the university isn't aware of his elite military training. This will set him up for attention getting heroics and that could lead him him to becoming a Savior.

Don't give up Silk. As a former IRL Army medic, being a combat medic can be fun, you won't have to be a Savior to be in the mix. Or if you don't want to be support, maybe Nazora will let you play a Savior that has already successfully transformed from a male into a female.

TURN ONs and TURN OFFs

Nazora

Silk, my apologies, I was just trying to help fit your character into the game. It is certainly still open to you and you haven't wasted anybodies time. If you are really going for the gender change element then there are many ways that can be worked in. She can have already completed her transformation, she can be recruited by the remaining MGAP organization (which still exists alongside SoS), or she can still be recruited by SoS. Healing powers are generally considered support powers, so it is not debasing to be in a support role. If you change your mind and want to work out a character and a plan you are always welcome back.

Annie

But the savior role is still open? And, a savior need to be a male, to go through the sex change later?

I thought there was more then one savior role and that one had to be the whole male to female thing.

Chrystal

You can also make a "support" role character, or even a monster.

I actually find it interesting that of all the monsters in play, I think only the dean is actually MAWD affiliated. All the rest are independent or rogue.

We could certainly do with a few more MAWD members.

Please check out my latest A/A post.
I would rather watch a movie then have dinner than have dinner then watch a movie!

Haibane

Mu was independent but it had an interview with the Dean and began working for him, in effect, sort of...

Chrystal

Hmm... I'm wondering whether Kuriko is going to be powerful enough to force rogue and independent monsters back into the fold... She is certainly going to try...

So the changes I made are acceptable?

Approved. Though remember, your powers are specific to the change your character will undergo upon becoming a Savior and powering up. As a normal human, you'll only have the powers granted to you by military training, which I think as a special forces soldiers like you described will still be quite formidable. Also remember you won't see any monsters, or be able to sense them at all, as a normal human, unless they reveal themselves to you by attacking. The way you wrote this I would consider your powers as a savior a multiplication of your abilities as a soldier. I think your primary weapon as a savior would be best as a side arm, or dual side arms.

Remember that abusing your powers incurs penalties. You don't need to worry about how long you can use your powers or when the penalties are incurred, as your character won't control that aspect of play. There are some guidelines on power use that I will have to update later.

Hi Annie

The role options in this are a bit overwhelming, and can get confusing at times.

1. Saviors: (All Female, Gender Change From Male Recruit Optional, though specifically looking for characters willing to go through a gender change and all the awkwardness it entails. The gender change characters have to be willing to play through a slow gender change. I'm trying to keep Savior roles limited, so the standards are a bit more stringent. )

2. MGAPS: (Also all female. Essentially the older sisters of the saviors. They work for TAMGAP. I am not recruiting any new MGAPS at this time, I will consider MGAP characters who have already completed a gender change or have been MGAPS for a while. Their goals are the same as the SoS girls, but their methods tend to be leaning more and more toward perverse strategies.)

3. Administrators & Support Staff: (Are the workers who keep the SoS and TAMGAP organizations operational. Many of them are NPC status. But they can easily be played as important characters as they are involved in strategy, tactics, and day to day operations. Any human with the talent to be an administrator can be one. Though they are sometimes former MGAPS, they are usually older adults of high authority. Some of the Henkaku Univ. faculty and students are actually TAMGAP and SoS administrators. The higher administrators are secret characters though.)

4. Monsters: (There are multiple types and allegiances available for any monster character. This is actually the most versatile group for character creation. The most powerful monsters will usually be aligned with MAWD.)

5. Humans: (Can be anyone who is involved with the university but is not any of the above, at least to start with. Humans can be recruited by SoS, be attacked by monsters, turned into monsters, live a blissfully ignorant university life, or become involved in the action through interaction with any of the above. Anyone who attends or works at Henkaku is not immune to what goes on there. Some humans may be able to sense monsters without being part of TAMGAP or SoS, but this must be well explained and approved.)

So, like I said, a wide range here.

Interesting... Can I play a human student with some small power (like sense monster, or something even more subtle) that can be enrolled as support or maybe as a Savior much much later in game? Well, when I say that she could be enrolled I mean that's totally optional and would only depends at how the game progresses. ^^

Just trying to understand my options here. ;D

No it's ok, just as I said, don't think I'm what your really looking for in a character, so me trying to participate will just result in others getting annoyed and me getting more depressed that I can't reach the standard your looking for. Mgap wouldnt fit me or the characters I would play so thats out of the question. And I don't really care for the support powers, I was just trying to do something a bit more unique and origonal see where that got me, a redundant support role. x.x

Completely acceptable, in fact preferred. We always need more students and puny insignificant humans to play with. As far as her power, as long as it is subtle and well explained she can start with a minor power that might be out of the ordinary for most humans. If it is worked out ahead of time it should be fine. Be aware that the TAMGAP mascots are extra protected from observation, so even is she has some clairvoyance she won't be able to see them unless special circumstances arise.

I'm going to work on the game reboot this weekend, though I might see how many characters can be gathered before the playing actually starts. I should be ready within a week, or by next weekend. Though the links may come sooner.

That's great! Well I would like to know more about the nature of the powers that we have in this game. So, I could think in an interesting way to explain that in my character. I don't want to come up with something cliché like: she had inherited these powers from her mother, a powerful magical girl that died in action. Any info you could give me about it would be really helpful

Ah, as far as how you acquired the powers, you have little need to worry about that. A cliched or a creative reason will suffice. If you want, she could have survived a monster attack at a younger age, as having been in contact with a monster will give people a small ability to sense them. But there are numerous other reasons you can come up with, I can't think of anything that wouldn't be frowned upon unless it is really implausible even in a fantasy setting like this. There was an Ainu (indigenous Hokkaido people)  character who could even communicate with monsters, she was Haibaine's character so if you want to know more communicate with her.  Now if your character becomes a Savior or an MGAP your powers will be worked between yourself and the game masters.

I have to rework the front posts, then I will post new links. Links to the OOC and Character thread are posted on the front page. I am not yet ready to open the setting threads.

You gave me a nice idea. She could be a survivor from a monster attack, when she wasn't even born yet. I'll let most details unknown, so we can follow any path that could better fit the history later. Well, that's what she would know about this attack: exactly 18 yeas ago (her age), a monster attacked a building were her parents worked. Her parents, among other co-workers, were saved. About some weeks later, her mother discovered that she was pregnant. Everything went fine from now on: she was born and they were a happy family... Until some years later (15, to be exact) when every survivor from that attack started to die in that year, from a unknown kind of cancer.

Now, she doesn't know about the other survivors dying from the same disease that killed her parents, in the same year. And her parents never said to her what happened in the attack. So, no one can tell if she was just exposed to some kind of "radiation" when still a fetus or if she is , indeed, "related" to the monster. And no one could explain why she didn't developed the same disease. Of course she doesn't question herself about this, since she doesn't even dream about all of these info.

About her power, she is a sensor. But is something very subtle and she never realised that there's a connection between what she feels and the presence of a monster. About what she feels, is basically an alteration in one of her five senses. A blurry vision, a strange noise, some strange taste on her mouth... when the monster is more powerful, more senses are affected at once.

If you approve this idea, I'll work on my char asap. ^^

By the way how many people have we got so far for this? I think I see a good chunk of excellent writers here. (Not including myself as I am constantly needing to correct myself.)

Nazora

Well, of those who submitted character profiles no one has posted anything in the OOC or the Character thread. We have all the cast from the end of first season, I think, but no new cast for the second season. I approved Etah's character for one of the main gender changing roles as a Savior, and I sent him a message, but I haven't seen any further activity.  We have a lot of interest though, which is very encouraging. I think three very promising character candidates just expressed interest.

Annie, I love your profile idea, go with it. The mention of the disease the people died of is kind of upsetting to me, but that is more of a personal thing on my part. I had another idea, but I'm going to let it be your call. Anyone who's interested should submit a character a thread. Expect me to be a nitpick with your character, or possibly suggest other ideas. Usually it is not because anything is wrong with your character but because I need to fill other types of roles to balance the game.

I REALLY NEED NEW REGULAR HUMANS OF ALL ALIGNMENTS AND PROFESSIONS & MONSTERS ALIGNED WITH MAWD!

I NEED PEOPLE WHO MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN MAKING A CHARACTER OUT OF THE FACULTY NPC's

I could still use ideas for a central gender change character, but these profiles will be a bit harder to get approved. As these will have to be characters I really want to toy with over a slow gender change! Still, don't be discouraged. If Etah does not play then I will need this even more desperately.

I can make room for other magical girls as well, and include or not include the gender change element.

Another pictures: 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 (NSFW) - 6 (if she turn out to be a magical girl)

Player Name: Annie

Character Name: Hinata Yoshiko

Age: 18

Alignment: none

Status: student

Powers: Sensor - she feels a strange alteration in one of her senses when near a monster. It's something subtle, like a blurry vision, or a low noise, a sensation of coldness... When more powerful the monster is, more senses are affected.

Personality:

She's the quiet type, although she can be very talkative when excited. Hinata doesn't gets along well with social interactions, but she does her best to be an enjoyable person and don't push away others with her nerdiness (something that she vainly tries to hide). Because of that, it's very difficult to her to say 'no' to a friend. The opposite sex is her weak spot: she became very shy and even more clumsy near a cute boy. Also, her experience with boys is zero. Hinata have the most romantic and orthodox thoughts about sex, altough her submissive nature would make her willing to try another kinds of experience (please, pm me or check my ons/offs).

She really loves to study and her favorite subjects are physics, mathematics and chemistry. As expected, she's a top student, and really gets pissed when receives a low grade. She dreams to work as a researcher in some important university and bring her contribution to Science, making a really big paradigm-changing scientific discovery.

Appearance:

Hinata have a curvaceous, feminine body, that she insists to hide, but without much success. She's shorty (155cm - 5' 1"), what adds to her cute looks. She usually keeps her blue hair in twin ponytails, only loosening it in special occasions (parties, dates - if she had one, that is). No, she don't use that yellow ribbon on her head. Her main choice for clothes is long skirts and long sleeved blouses, although she have no problems in using other kind of outfits. Her main problem is to have a poor sense of fashion, often picking clothes that don't help on her looks at all. The coke-bottle glasses she uses, hiding her beautiful blue eyes, is a drawback to her appearance, also (although there are people that find that cute). If it wasn't for her beautiful body, no one would look at her.

Background:

She 'survived' a monster attack, when she wasn't even born. A monster attacked a building were her parents worked. Her parents, among other coworkers, were saved.

Of course she doesn't question herself about this, since she doesn't even dream about all of these informations.

Player Name: TK

Character Name: Solthis (Sol) Merrillin

Age: 25

Alignment: SOS

Status: Human Savior

Powers:
->Orbit A: Tārā'ō(Weapon Power): This power uses Solthis' necklace as a focus, and creates a ring of 5-10 ethereal daggers (Depending on amount of energy expended) that orbit Sol at shoulder height. These daggers can be manipulated in a variety of ways- while orbiting, they provide a constant, chainsaw-like aura within their radius; or they can be fired from their orbit as a projectile; or, finally, Sol can simply reach out and grab daggers to fight with in close quarters. The "Stars" orbit is relatively fixed, capable of being moved only from shoulder to hip height.
->Orbit B: Candra (Shield Power): This power uses Solthis' bracelet as a focus, and summons a pair of ethereal shields that orbit around the core of his torso like moons. When passive, these shields orbit slowly... however, their orbit is much more variable than that of the Stars, and can be shifted to cover any angle on Sol's body when he needs it. When active, the moons will shift their orbit as quickly as possible, interposing themselves between Sol and his attacker as best they can. It's not a perfect defense by any stretch of the imagination, but it serves well against most physical attacks.

Personality: Sol is, to put it bluntly, a bit of a "space case." Ever since he was a child, he's been fascinated by the moon and the stars in the night sky, and has spent a good deal of time out on his father's back porch looking for constellations when he could have been studying. Or Sleeping. Needless to say, his "night-life" directly impacts his day-to-day life, and he is prone to zoning out or dozing off in classes or even when just conversing with friends. People who can get past this fact find themselves dealing with a patient, loyal friend... when he's paying attention.

Appearance: Aside from the bags under his eyes from staying up until 3-4 in the morning on an almost nightly basis, Solthis keeps himself fairly well maintained. Sure, he doesn't really style the scruffy, bluish-black hair that frames his face... but he does keep it cut and kempt, and he at least makes sure that his clothes are neat and clean before leaving the house. Of course, no amount of neatening and tidying will get rid of the fairness in his skin from living the majority of his active life under the moonlight...

Background: Sol is the only child, born to a matriarchal family of Transmuters and Conjurers who have made their livings hunting and eradicating monsters in areas too remote or too poor to attract the attention of the more powerful Saviors. Being as he was the last in the blood-line, his mother began to teach him what she could of her clan's charms at a  young age... even as his father was teaching him the stories of worlds and galaxies beyond our own. The result was the first male child in the Merrillin bloodline's history with even a hint of transmutation ability (albeit, a very un-developed and unsophisticated hint), as well as the first Merrillin to dream of being an astronaut instead of a demon hunter.

Over time, though, it became clear that Sol could learn no further tricks from his mother or even his grandmother, and the young man was sent out to find someone, anyone, who could teach him how to control his gifts beyond a simple conjuration of daggers and shields...

Background needs some work, I think, but that is what I've come up with so far.

By the way how many people have we got so far for this? I think I see a good chunk of excellent writers here. (Not including myself as I am constantly needing to correct myself.)

This is one of the reasons why I joined this game. And I'm including you in the excellent writers, Hyena. ^^

Something tells me that you liked her. ^^

Now, I updated her appearance and personality. Only needs to work on her background. Again, any tips would be useful. ;D

Ok, had this great idea of a making a monster that would evolve during the course of the game. Still need to work out some of the parts obviously, but will work on it in the next few days.

The further it gets in its development the more powerful it becomes. I was thinking the first one could be a queen, and thus could control its broods once its an adult and starts reproducing more.

Nazora

Wow, that is not a cute monster, seems intensely formidable. It is a great idea, very unique, it is nice to see an insect monster, or a viscious looking monster. Just try not to make it to powerful. If you ware creating a swarm make sure the swarm creatures are smaller than the average dog or the swarm might be too hard to deal with. Being an insect, it will have to draw its energy from the forest and should have insect like weaknesses to balance out the strength.

Exiled: You're solid, a lot of potential in this character, but need some refining for this game.

Powers: These are appropriate and well thought out. Do remember that your character will only have powers as a Savior, not before. Also, since the character is male, her will have to go through the gender change to receive these powers.

Background: This is okay, but the powers you mentioned above can't be part of the clan's bloodline if he is being recruited as a Savior. If the SoS doesn't need to unleash his powers there is no need for a recruitment and gender swap. Then he would be more of an outside ally to the Saiors or the MGAPS, which could have much intrigue of its own if you don't wish to play the gender change. I can make room for another group of humans with powers outside the storyline, but you'll have to keep the historical abilities of his clan, or at least his own, limited, if he is to be recruited by SoS.

I'd like to here more about why he decided to go to Henkaku University.

Annie: I think your profile is okay as it stands, student profiles are rather straight forward. Um, there is a typo at the end of the background that bugs me though, fix it! Love the character.

Kimera

I wasn't sure if you wanted vicious looking or cute, monster-girl type monsters, but this had potential :3

Haibane

We seem to be drifting away from a world full of vanilla humans and monsters with magical girls that have the powers to a game where non-magical people have some powers.

I'm not comfortable with that as I think it blurs what we have so far which has been useful in clearly deliniating lines between the characters and their roles.

If powers are around among non-magical girls the world would know of them and the whole first part of the game was built on the premise that people didn't.

Can I ask that if you are not a magical girl (SOS or TAMGAP) then you have no powers? I suppose some very weak sensing ability is okay if you've been a victim in the past but nothing more than that and definitely no weapons (offensive or defensive).

Just my 02.

Laughing Hyena

I think TK's character is supposed to be a magical girl. Specifically the one that is meant to be gender bended for good into a girl.

Haibane

But I hope the powers come after the transformation and not before.

Laughing Hyena

Oooohh... yeah according to the backstory he would already have them. Yeah that might be something you'd have issue with and I can see why.

Haibane

Exactly. The game is about girls getting powers when they transform. Before they transform the boys gender change into girls. You don't become a magical girl because you have pre-existing powers.

None of this does fits the game world at all, unfortunately.

Also, I would prefer to see a character with a Japanese name seeing as he is an ordinary Japanese schoolboy.

Laughing Hyena

Those are two good points. Unless the backstory has him undergo a magical girl transformation prior in his back story (which defeats the purpose of what Nazora's wanted) then it doesn't make sense as far as continuity.

Blue Leah

Morning all. Just figured I would acknowledge some of the concerns with my logic behind the backstory.  If it is really a problem I'll drop the concept, but:
1) The powers listed are the final powers once the character obtains "Savior" status, not current powers for the character. However, the backstory does contain elements that are meant to make Sol an actual, viable candidate for the transformation, rather than just having him be a random kid off the street. Hence, the minor, underdeveloped powers; not enough to create the daggers of the Orbit spells, but the ability to make smaller changes to his bracelet and necklace. Something to give the existing Saviors reason to think there is potential.

2)Sol doesn't have a Japanese name because he's not Japanese. My concept is a character who has traveled to multiple places hoping to find someone to teach him to advance his abilities, with zero success thus far. Again, if that is really an issue, the concept can be changed. I was just running with an idea.

Hope that clarifies / makes sense. And as I said, if not I can dump the char and move on.

Laughing Hyena

Make sure you clarify these points on the sheet itself and that you make it out plain as day. Trust me that helps immensely.

Kimera

Anyone know a good sounding japanese name for the insect monster

Monster is bakemono
Insect is mushi

You could try ways of combining those words.

So what kind of insect monster would you guys like to encounter, the horror themed one from the first post, or more toonlike, like the one in this post?

Laughing Hyena

Nazora

TK: I missed that he had a foreign name, though I will allow him to be a foreigner and keep the name because I missed that as an issue. The only thing that disturbs me is his background being from a line of wizards and what not, it does create issues with the theme of the game if allow too much of this. Since his powers are weak to start I'm going to overlook this for your character as well and let his background as long as this line is secret from other humans and is European or Western heritage. Though I'd rather not have his line associated with fighting monsters, as the monsters are primarily a concern of the magical girls and don't want other organizations created to fight monsters (Besides the ones I think up of course)

The only remaining problem is the need to work out why he came to Henkaku university, because if he is in this game I prefer him enrolled as a student. Him being a scholarship to Henkaku that is merely a lure to get him recruited is the only thing I can think of that makes sense to me.

I think these tweaks will be best for everyone in the game, and I hope you still have desire to join.

I'm slightly squicked out by insects. Not so much real ones but the big ones you see in some tentacle rape image collections. I've never seen the attraction in being raped by a giant hornet or cockroach *shudders*

Maybe your swarm of things could each be very small as Nazora suggested and not very creepy-crawly? Maybe some kind of larvae or something? Or snake, or worm?

Or you can carry on and have whatever you wish just... please don't bring it near any of my characters!

What about frogs or reptile minions? Those are typically popular aren't they? Particularly in japan mythology?

I didn't want explicit images in the public area, all are NSFW BTW.

We can continue the conversation here though. Chrystal did an amazing game recently with a hive mind creature so go to her for tips as to how to play it. She did it brilliantly referring to itself as "we" and "us" all the time. I found it well written and very creepy at the same time. You would need to be careful and keep focussed while drafting your posts but I think the effort would be worth it.

I'm not in dire need of another Savior character, but I can still use them. I really need students, as students are versatile enough to become anything within the flow of the game, and I want the savior characters to begin as students or civilians as other forms. Any character that starts as a student can become a candidate for a Savior, or become a magical girl for another organization. I also need monsters who are aligned with MAWD, but the primary need is for students and even faculty as they are the most flexible characters.

Name: Hirunagi’Ishuu

Picture:
http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=210253
http://gelbooru.com/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=1117530

Affiliation: The Ishuu have allied themselves with MAWD since they lack the ability to cross dimensions on their own. Part of the swarm often assist other more powerful monsters.

Type: Cell or Blob (as a swarm, they move almost liquidlike)

Weigh & Height: An individual Hirunagi weights between a couple 100 gram to about a kilo. As a swarm they use their combined weight to pull down much larger prey.

Influence: All Hirunagi are mentally linked into the hive mind Hirunagi’Ishuu, which controls all of them.

Description: Hirunagi are slimy leechlike worms that come in several types. The most common are only a foot and form the bulk of the swarm and have a pink fleshy color. A second variety exists that is more eel-like, 3-4 feet in length and a darker, almost black skin. Sometimes they seem to bundle together into a tangled, more unified mass. A Queen, Nexus of the Hirunagi Tangle exist, but none have seen it as of this point.

Abilities/Powers/Feeding: The only true power Hirunagi’Ishuu possesses is that all are one. While an individual is relatively weak, people mistaking them for mindless slugs will learn the hard way that all Hirunagi coordinate perfectly with each other.

Hirunagi are vulnerable to extreme heat and shun strong sources of UV-light and thus prefer dark and humid places. Lakes, pools, cellars, sewers and waterways are all perfect areas to hide. Their preferred hideout is inside their prey as it also instantly provides them with their foodsource.

They feed on the emotional energies of pleasure, pain, fear, desperation and humiliation. All types of emotions usually released when they attack or when they take up residence inside a human. Those that feed transmit the absorbed energy to the hive across dimensions, making sure their queen and the swarm as a whole is fed.

Although they prefer to appear mindless, sometimes the hive-mind will make contact with their prey, taunting with their mind and humiliating them further.

Non-aligned Monsters are going to get a rude awakening...

Kimera, you can be aligned if you wish, or you can be non-aligned and join MAWD later.

Naz, I agree we should have more aligned monsters, but I'm thinking I would like to have some NPC "enforcers", basically the minister's secretary and bodyguard - big powerful demon types that are there to beat the living carp out of any monster that refuses to affiliate to MAWD...

Oh and I think the head of MAWD on the island should be able to forcibly re-affiliate rogue monsters by ... shall we say, "interesting" methods?

Please check out my latest A/A post.

Made them allied to MAWD. Since they lack the ability to cross dimentions on their own, they assist MAWD in exchange to be able to invade the earth.

Maybe they assist other more powerful monsters aswell?

Alright. Attempt #2 for the Savior-in-Training.

Generic Image
Player Name:TK

Character Name: Hibiki Inoue

Age:19

Alignment: None Yet

Status: Student, potential to be trained as Savior

Powers: None Yet. Future powers will be based off of Sound / Music, based on how story progresses.

Personality: There are social butterflies, and there are those who are more comfortable as far from others' eyes as possible. Ever since he was a child, Hibiki was the latter. Quiet, awkward, and never quite at home in his own skin, Hibiki has spent the past fifteen years of his life doing everything he can to stay out of sight and out of mind for everyone but his family and one particularly close friend. As such, he's always firmly in the middle- on the track, he makes sure he never comes in first or last, and in the classroom his grades are average to a fault. And when it comes to socializing, he's far more likely to sit off in a corner with a book and some tunes blasting through his old, beat up headphones than he is to sit with a group and chat away the afternoon...

Appearance: Hibiki is slender and lean, with the slightly-tanned skin of someone who spends just enough time outside to keep from taking on a computer-screen glow. While he's not exceptionally neat, his clothes are kept pressed and his hair is kept trim, all to that goldilocks standard of "just right without standing out." Pretty much the only part of him that shines are his eyes- two dark, brown orbs that watch the world around him with the same intensity and energy that he uses to avoid being watched himself.

Background: When he was much, much younger, Hibiki was every bit as boisterous and outgoing as one would expect from a bouncing four-year-old... but one day, after he and a classmate from his kindergarten got lost in the woods outside his parents' hometown, that changed. The other little boy was never found, but when Hibiki was found late that night he was a whole different person. For a full year, he wouldn't say a word, even to his parents... and even once he did start talking again, his personality was muted and withdrawn. He's never told anyone what happened on that day, or why they could not find his classmate. The only thing his parents and others have been able to note is that since then, he has been strangely drawn to music- from humming to concerts, classical to pop, japanese or foreign, the young man collects and listens to anything and everything he can get his hands on. Like he's searching for a sound that only he can hear among the notes...

Same as before, I'll need to iron out the history a little bit more. Hopefully, though, this fits the game a little bit better.

Status: Student, potential to be trained as Savior

Powers: None Yet. Future powers will be based off of Sound / Music, based on how story progresses.

Personality: There are social butterflies, and there are those who prefer to stay as far from others' eyes as possible. Hibiki is most definitely the latter. He's quiet, withdrawn, and never quite seems at home in his own skin; but for some reason, he still participates as much as possible in 'normal' activities. Of course, excelling at something would mean that he'd end up drawing more attention than he wants... so Hibiki makes sure that he's always firmly in the middle. On the track, he never comes in first or last, and in the classroom his grades are average to a fault. When it comes to socializing, he'll readily sit down at the table with the rest of the group... but he's more likely to sit at the end of the table with his headphones on and a book in his lap than he is to chat with his peers.

Background: When he was younger, Hibiki was every bit as loud and bouncy as any of his peers. His parents will tell you that his “terrible twos” were especially eventful, especially once the kid’s uncle gave him a toy karaoke set that would regularly send discordant notes echoing through the house at three in the morning. For two full years.

But all of that changed when Hibiki was four. He and a KG-1 classmate had been playing when they somehow managed to get out of their school’s  play yard and had gotten lost in the nearby woods. As soon as the teacher noticed, of course, authorities and parents were called in… but the search party was unable to find either child. It wasn’t until dawn of the next day that someone found Hibiki, staggering out of the woods nearly ten miles away from where he’d began, covered in dirt and scuff-marks like he’d crawled his way up through the earth itself. His classmate was never found.

And though he had been found, and returned safely to his parents, Hibiki was changed by his ordeal. Gone was the boisterous, karaoke singing four year old that his parents had grown accustomed to over the past four years… and in his place was a quiet, reserved little boy who wouldn’t speak to anyone for a full two years. Eventually, his parents were able to bring him at least partially back… but he never got back to “normal,” and the karaoke set his uncle gave him still sits untouched in his room to this day.

The only thing about him that has not changed is his love- almost an obsession- of music. Hibiki is a voracious listener, whose headphones constantly blare notes of any and all types of music that the young man is able to get his hands on- be it classical or pop, western or Japanese, you can bet it’ll make an appearance on the young man’s playlist. He even studies music now, at the local university… and he’s regularly up late, night after night, poring over sheet music and listening to some new song or another, as if he’s searching for something that even he’s forgotten…

That is the final version. Please let me know what y'all think. :)

This profile works, though I'll have to get some of the NPC's to try an open him up a bit more. Put him in as a student and candidate for SoS. Both SoS and TAMGAP will be watching him closely. Let me know when your done cleaning the profile up so we can get posted in the character threads.

Kimera: From what I can see, that is perfect. That swarm has a lot of potential.

Allright. I'll post Them in the character thread then :3

TK, post that profile into the character threads.  :-)
All about what I like!

Info: I find that 98% of the time my interest in a story outlasts that of the other party. If you are no longer interested in continuing a story, please let me know promptly so I'm not checking the thread.  Thank you.

Status: Posting a bit slowly due to chaotic schedule, bear with me please.
