The Debate topic tonight:  Foreign Policy.

Callie Del Noire

Unless Mitt's handlers have got him to think a bit more on what he says... this will be a real train wreck.

Chelemar

He will prolly be MoTR again.  Also, try and tie economics with foreign policy again as it's more his strong suit.

I would like to know what The Donald has to say for his "October Surprise" regarding Obama.

Interesting to see what they will dish out about the Middle East and especially Iran and Israel.

For certain.

Callie Del Noire

Iran will be big.. Israel won't be a big surprise I'm thinking. They'll both support her and avoid discussing what they are saying about the treaty beaking actions that Israel has done.

For the record, Israel will be holding legislative elections in January - the current cabinet ruptured. Probably means there won't be any kind of "critical shift" in how they respond to the Iran nuclear programme before then (but perhaps soon after, see here)

Only.. and I stress this.. ONLY if they have intelligence that tells them that they HAVE to strike NOW. Otherwise they will pragmatically lie low and let the election go through.

wow.. he pushed the 'Gender Equality' button in the Middle East while not doing it here?

Isreal - our ally? Isreal is not our ally. They are using us as a big fucking stick, and that's it.

Wasn't it one of the founding fathers who advised "Speak softly and carry a big stick"? *Louise googles the quote* Ah, Teddy Roosevelt!

I'm really tired of our relationship with Israel. (Misspelled it last post, sorry, am distracted by fresh piercings that are really sore.)

2 minutes to flip flop. I think Mitt just set a new record.

Romney: "We have 42 allies" Exactly? yeah, I reckon he means NATO states, but...

(edit: no, NATO has 28 member states including the USA. God knows precisely which countries he was counting in - and in any case, almost none of them, except the UK were with the US invading Iraq in 2003)

But, that was 10 years before you took office.  :o

Callie Del Noire

Correct me if I'm wrong.. wasn't this on foreign policy?

Trieste

Medicare is a program for the poor. The poor only need one program, right? Right?

I love how he says the ACA doesn't sound good. Reducing national bankruptcies due to overburdening with medical bills SOUNDS AWFUL GOOD TO ME!
