Alpha: As perfect of a physical specimen as can be found among the Bast, naturally possessing rippling muscles that professional human bodybuilders are intensely jealous of, Kellas’s physical abilities  easily dominate most other Bast Males including other Alphas. Humans seem like small children in comparison to his strength, speed and other physical capabilities. The length and width of his genitalia is somewhat legendary and rumor has it, that he has been sought out to perform in underground interspecies pornography for that reason.
Born Hunter: Stealth, tracking, shadowing, and pouncing. These are skills he was born with and can use skillfully with little to no active thought. With his knowledge in addition to life experience, he can blend into a crowd as skillfully as the forest shadows, and shadow someone through a crowded building as easily as he can track them through the wilderness.
Born Leader: Kellas was born a leader of leaders. He has been commanding Betas and Gammas domestically and in war for over two decades, since the moment he became a man. He is a firm but personable leader who is commanding but not harsh. He knows how to command and to delegate, he knows how to organize and he knows how to inspire loyalty from those who follow him.
Born Politician: Kellas has been able to navigate his way through human society with far more success than other Bast. He understands tact and social graces, he knows when to be intimidating or uncompromising and he is adept at guile and subterfuge. He has been regarded by most galactic citizens, as the foremost leader of the collective Bast Prides since they left the service of the Confederation.
Born Soldier: The son and grandson of Bast soldiers for the Confederacy, he was born with their knowledge and training. He went on to join and then lead the Confederacies most prestigious all Bast killteam because it was the only one that was made up off all Alphas. He fought in several campaigns that consisted of heavy combat and low intensity operations. Cass Seradin made Kellas his personal bounty hunter and Kellas organized his own Westrock pride into the Cait Sith.

Character History: Kellas was born to be an Alpha. He was the son of a long line of Alphas, known for military service with the Confederacy and victory. The day he turned ten years old and was exiled from the tribe of his birth, he took three brothers and a cousin and after establishing dominance over each one of them led them into neighboring areas and immediately dominated the Alpha of another tribe. He then set off to serve in the Confederate Military.

Joining the Elite Shayetet Killteam of the Confederate Naval Service, the Shayetet was the only Killteam in Confederacy Service that was made of all young Alpha Bast. Being part of that elite unit, Kellas saw more combat almost continually for the next two decades, and along the way became the leader of the Shayetet Killteam and to this day some refer to him as Alpha of the Alphas. As Kellas began maturing he began to fear old age, insignificance and death but the Confederacy had no desire to elongate the rather short life spans of the Bast, seeing it as one of the reasons the Bast remained dependant on them.

Retiring from Confederate Military Service, Kellar returned to the Bast home world and in short order absorbed the females of three other prides by challenging and dominating their Prides Alpha, dissolving those prides and absorbing the females, created a small pack of Prideless Betas roaming the wild who would all be dominated by other Alphas and absorbed into other Prides. It was during this time that Kellas first heard of the Red Corsair seeking the service of the Bast.

The Red Corsair visited the home world of the Bast, located in subspace. There he made his case that he had dominated the Confederacy and the Bast was effectively serving a galactic Beta. Kellas came out strongly in favor of joining the cause of the Red Corsairs and shouted down those Prides Alphas who dissented. Kellas went so far as to challenge and dominate the two loudest Confederate loyalists, forcing them to be Betas and absorbing the females from their former Prides.

Afraid of being challenged, dominated and dislocated from their lofty positions by the Alpha of Alphas, the tide of opinion changed among the body of elders and the Prides uniformly came out in favor of allying with the Red Corsairs. They signed a document of loyalty to the Red Corsairs with Cass Seradin that made its own demands, including scientific resources allocated to expanding the lifespan of chosen Bast, the fact that no one from Cass’s organization would ever have any claim over the Bass home world and that the engineers and soldiers of the Bast that would serve the Red Corsairs would be treated as officers and given the respect and deference that went with being an officer.

As soon as Cass Seradin sealed the deal with the collective Prides of the Bast, he awarded Kellas with the noble title of Warlord that effectively made him Alpha over the collective Prides of the Bast. He appointed his new Warlord as his personal bounty hunter and charged him with forming an elite unit of bounty hunters that would hunt down any traitor, double dealer, non-payer or any other menace that Cass wanted captured and brought to him alive.

Kellas began organizing his own Pride of Westorck to be rotated through new and elite the Cait Sith. The Gammas would pilot, maintain and repair the ship while the Betas would backup Kellas on capture teams, when they had targets to find. After a year or so of originating, arming and training they began successfully capturing high value targets with a very high rate of success. The name of the Cait Sith and of Warlord Kellar is swiftly becoming one to be feared.

Personality:
Supremely confident, many would instead mistake him for arrogant. He is as sure of his own dominance as he is his instincts and training. He can be relaxed, is often straightforward and is sometimes blunt. He is sometimes naive and humans have a hard time interacting with him because they cannot tell if he is a wild beast or a being with the ability to think critically.  However Kellar is also strangely charismatic and likable unless you piss him off and you will then forget very quickly that he is an evolved being and will only be able see only a terrifying mountain lion before you.

How did the Red Corsair hear about and recruit you?: The entire galaxy is aware of the usefulness of the Bast thanks to two generations of Confederate military and civil service. Cass Seradin banked that based on the Bast’s primordially pack like mentality and the Confederacies inability to defeat him, that he could approach them as the Alpha of known space. His efforts were stymied at first, but in time, with Confederate defeats and further success the Bast came around. Kellas was the loudest voice in the governing body of the Bast made up of the Alphas of the Prides of the Bast that was in favor of allying with the Red Corsairs. As soon as the ink was dry on the document trying the Bast with the Red Corsairs, Cass Seradin

Additional Information:
Cait Sith: Cass Seradin immediate liked Kellas and realized that Kellas had become popular and important among the Bast. As soon as the Prides of the Bast decided to ally with the Red Corsair, Cass took Kellas as his personal body guard and asked him to form a team. Wanting people loyal to him, Kellas transformed his own Westrock Pride into the Cait Sith. Kellas always stays with his ship in the field, but he rotates his Betas and Gammas through the Cait Sith, with the females acting as pilots, engineers and his personal company and with the Betas as part of his capture team. He makes sure to regularly dominate the Betas of his Pride when they are with him in the field, so they don’t forget he is their Alpha when they rotate back to the Bast Homeworld. Gammas generally stay aboard until Kellas successfully impregnates them.
Duel Pistols: For use at close ranges, these can be used as tiny mass drivers to disable or kill a subject at short range or as sonic devices, to destroy equipment such as an opponent’s weapon and or to render a subject unable to resist without killing them. The target of a successful sonic attack’s ear drums are generally destroyed though, leaving the target deaf.
Glop Grenades: These grenades are not Bast in origin but Kellas likes them quite a bit anyway. They omit a thick and sticky substance that grows quit and bit until it wholly binds a target of human size. Firing weapons from within the expanded Glop generally leads to the death of the subject and the glop is extremely resistant to cutting from within or from without. The glop dissolves normally after a number of hours, which are lower if it is hotter and higher if it is colder. Expanded glop is not air tight.
Grappling Hook: On their home planet, the Bast Hunt game by scaling down rope from thick tree branches and attacking their target from above. Modern Bast, and especially the Cait Sith has incorporated this technique into their modern skill set by scaling down grappling hooks to confront a target.
Pride of Westrock: Kellas own Pride of whom he is the Alpha. It is easily the largest Pride of the Bast consisting of three of his brothers, a cousin and five defeated Alphas of other Prides whom he dominates and absorbed the women of. The Westrock Pride is said to contain anywhere between ten and thirty females, all of which are fiercely loyal to Kellas. Kelllas created the Cait Sith from the members of the Westrock Pride, rotating them back and forth through fieldwork and staying back in the Pridelands on the Bast homeworld.
Shotgun: A midrange mass driver of Confederate origin, a shotgun can be accurate out to several hundred meters, and the shot is very powerful, killing an opponent with one shot into vital areas such as the torso or head and nearly disabling a target with any shot to non-vital areas such as the arms or legs. Shot guns are only used when death is the desired outcome. Generally however, the Cait Sith are called into action when the Red Corsair wants someone alive.
Sniper Rifle: As part of the Confederacies premier Bast Killteam, Kellas became very familiar with long range weaponry. He doesn’t use it very often but the Red Corsair has the option of asking him to execute a target. So Kellas makes sure to keep his sniping skills sharp.
Speeder Bike: Stored in the cargo hold of the Cait Sith, Kellas can jump on his speeder bike and head toward his subject at very high speeds.
Vessel: Of Bast engineering and designed specifically for him, it was named the Sith Interceptor by its creations but he calls it simply the Cait Sith. It is very fast, terrifyingly maneuverable and generally anything it cannot outrun, it can simply outgun. The accommodations are Spartan, but the Bast aren’t quite a race of finery to begin with. The Cait Sith capture teams preferred tactic is to repel from the belly of the vessel, straight on top of targets from the repel platform in the cargohold.

Species History

The Bast, or Homoid Fera-felinus, are an ancient race. They evolved parallel to human’s from large predatory great cats which were similar to lions and tigers, instead of apes as humans did. Their civilization peaked several thousand years ago, long before humans would venture into the stars. Upon joining the Galactic stage they became snared in several intergalactic wars, which caused the Bast to become paranoid and xenophobic. Rather than see themselves conquered by some other galactic race, the Bast constructed great planetary warp drives much more powerful and advanced than anything known today, and moved their home world into a pocket of subspace they created, that no one would ever be able to find on purpose or by accident without knowing beforehand.

In the galaxy stories of the Bast passed from history into legend and from legend into myth, while their society on their home planet devolved, becoming primitive. Though biologically evolved into humanoid form, the Bast lived largely as beasts until their society cycled back through a long cycle of development, invention and modernization. Two generations ago, the Bast emerged from their self imposed isolation in fantastical ships with Warp engines more advanced than could be reproduced by anyone, anywhere outside of the Bast home world.

The Confederacy of Unified Systems was quick to take the Bast into their confidence. The Confederacy hired female Bast as warp engineers and the male Bast into their military ground forces. Over the next two generations the Bast once again became famous as Warp Engine designers and over the course of several wars became skilled war veterans. However the Confederacy miscalculated by not taking into account the Bast’s instinctual nature. By not being able to defeat the Red Corsair, the entire Confederacy collectively became beta to Cass Seradin and his band of space pirates.

More watchful and competent than the Confederacy, Cass Seradin saw his opportunity and initiated negotiations with the Prides of the Bast. During this trip Cass Seradin became the first non-Bast to see the Bast home world in thousands of years, safely tucked away in a pocket of subspace where Cass Seradin realized that not even the mighty Red Corsair could ever find this planet. A deal was struck between the Prides and the Red Corsair and the Bast uniformly abandoned the Confederacy and took positions within Cass Seradin’s organization.

Cass Seradin being the smart man that he is, understands a number of things. The first thing Cass understands is that that the Bast are a powerful ally. The second that Cass understood is that the Bast are a people that must be respected, because disrespect to them would bring noncompliance and the Basts means to resist are great. The third and last thing Cass understood about the Bast are that he could trust him as long as his organization was strong and dominant, but if the Red Corsair started to show any cracks, he realized that the Bast would ally with the galactic organization it considered to have become alpha.

Species Language

The Bast communicates on three different levels. All forms of communication including the language of the Lips and Tongue are learned through a Bast child’s instinctual memory.

Language of the Body: One of the reasons the Bast work so well together in battlefield environments is because they have a very vivid method of communication that consist of only body language. Anthropologists are incapable of translating most of the gestures but in this form of communication, the overall stance of the communicator, where they are facing, their facial expressions, their body movements and their tail communicate impressively complex ideas silently.

Language of the Chest: This is the roar of the Bast which they are capable of producing even though they are evolved into humanoid form. It has several purposes including communicating simple ideas over distances, intimidating opponents and attracting mates. The ideas communicated in the roar would be the equivalent of one word in common language, like help or run, yes or no. Most people are shocked by the power, decibel levels and suddenness of the roars of the Bast, there is no doubting its intimidation factor. Bast Gammas are attracted by the strength of the roar and Gammas can correctly determine from the roar if the originator is an Alpha or Beta.

Language of the Lips and Tongue: They are a spoken language that seems to be some dialect of common, which is spoken normally and reproduced by others. Additionally, Bast can and often do speak Common and other intergalactic language.

Written Language: The Bast’s original written language was written with claws in the blood of their prey. But this has evolved into a form of calligraphy, written in ink. Official State documents of the Bast people are still written in ink made with the blood of predators. Anthropologists have determined that their written language is an ancient variation of basic.

Species Traits

Biological Imperative
-Enlarged Genitals: Male Bast are known to have large genitals in comparison to humans but not incompatible with human females or other humanoids of similar dimensions.
-Selective Breeding: Gammas can mate with Betas but there is a sort of valve within the female Bast biology that will not allow the seed of a Beta to fertilize their eggs, even if they have paired with that Beta as life mates. This valve will only let an acknowledged Alphas fertilize their eggs for reproduction, unless that Alpha is a close relative (father, brother, son) in which case the value will prevent offspring from incestial liaisons.
-Sexual Receptivity and life pairing: Gammas can form life bonds with Betas, which will signal to other Betas, that the Gamma in question will not be receptive to the advances of Betas, other than their life mates. However, Gammas will always be sexually receptive to the advances of acknowledged Alphas, regardless of their relationship status.
-Vigorous Breeding: Mating between Bast is very vigorous in tempo, duration and relative violence, even more so when the mating is between Alphas and Gammas. This in addition to the size of their sexual organs leads some females of other races to seek out Bast males as sexual partners, even though Bast are incapable of actually reproducing with other species.
-Vigorous Sexual Appetites: Both males and females, Alphas, Betas and Gammas have very high sex drives and sex rates pretty high on their list of priorities. This sex drive can inhibit higher brain functions and has led Bast Betas who were cut off from sex with their own species, to rape females of other species and commonly forces those Betas to seek sexual gratification among other species. Bast are not unlike the Bonobo Chimps in that sex has replaced many other activities within Bast society, including war.

Military Skills: The Confederacy of Unified Systems took in the Bast and traded wealth and natural resources in exchange for their technical expertise on Warp Drives and having Bast serve as scouts for their ground forces and in specialized All Bast kill teams. This gave the Bast military training and combat experience and allowed them to adapt their natural hunting skills into modern military roles. That experience has since become part of the collective Bast instinct, meaning that every Bast is now by definition a born soldier.

Pack Mentality
-Alpha: Within every Pride there is a single male Alpha who is the acknowledged leader and reproducer. This means that the strongest and most intelligent will lead the Bast and the genes of the strongest and most intelligent will become more frequent within the Bast gene pool. Alphas include those Betas who were formerly considered Betas but successfully challenged an Alpha and thus took his place as Alpha within the Pride. Alphas get the first and last choice of food, sexual partners and material wealth and objects.
-Beta: In a wolf pack, those wolves that are not dominant, but are submissive and are also leaders who could become Alphas, are considered Betas. In Bast society all males that are not Alphas within the Pride are Betas. They are the protectors of the Gammas and the followers of the Alpha. Betas include those Alphas who were successfully challenged by other Alphas or by Betas and thereby lost their Alpha status. They get second choice of food, sexual partners and material wealth and objects.
-Displays of Dominance: Displays of dominance that are part of challenges are generally forced oral or anal sex between Alphas and Betas or more rarely between Alphas and Alphas. Success here either maintains or reorders status among the Pride. More routine displays of dominance which are used by established Alphas to reassert already established dominance can be the breeding of a Betas life bonded Gamma by an Alpha, in the presence of the Beta. In the case of former Alphas who have become Betas but who have immature female offspring, the breeding of those immature offspring by an Alpha in the presence of the Beta, can also serve as a display of dominance. In both of these cases the Beta would be left to raise the child, which serves as a further display of dominance. Routine displays of dominance shame and arouse the Beta, thrusting them even further into submissiveness, but they also foster feelings of protectiveness and loyalty to the Alpha from the Beta.
-Dominance: The single most important determinate within Bast society, dominance is established by physique, the size of one’s sexual organ, leadership ability and guile. Most Alphas are born with dominant traits and their dominance is established early. However some Betas find other Prides and challenge that Prides Alpha, who is in some way less dominant than their original Alpha, or Betas can develop some kind of non-hereditary advantage and successfully challenge an Alpha. Alphas can also by injury or sickness become less dominant and would then be challenged by his Prides Betas. An Alpha of one Pride who successfully challenges the Alpha of another Pride, effectively absorbs that Prides females and the males of the first Pride except the former Alpha, are generally exiled, leaving Betas within a Pride good reason to challenge a weakened Alpha before another Prides Alpha can. Challenges are won by conclusive displays of dominance and have been described as two Bast men trying desperately to rape each other.
-Gamma: In a wolf pack, the Gamma is not quite submissive but is also not a leader, among the Bast, this role is filled by their females. Instead of having their own dominance hierarchy, females are outside of the dominance hierarchy by being subordinate to the dominance hierarchy entirely. The Alpha who can be assumed to have superior genetic traits, can ensure their offspring will have superior genetic traits by having their pick of the best females with whom to breed. Effectively however, Alphas breed with as many females as possible relying on their superior genetic traits alone to ensure genetically superior offspring. While Alphas and Betas generally serve as statesmen and soldiers, Gammas are known to be the best pilots and engineers.

Pride Organization: Traditionally when male offspring reach maturity, they are exiled from their Pride of birth. This is because the established males don’t want to share the females of the Pride with the younger males and the Alphas fear that one of the younger males will depose him. New prides are formed by three to five males, who are sometimes brothers or cousins but can just as easily be totally unrelated. After determining who among them is Alpha, these males find an established Pride or return to their original Pride and attempt to dispose the sitting Alpha of that tribe to gain females for their new Pride. Now days most males leave their Pride with one Gamma, in order to allow them to form with other males who also probably have a single Gamma and start a new Pride without having to challenge another Pride. Among Bast Society, loyalty is due to ones Pride and hereditary relation has little or no significance.

Racial Characteristics
-Accelerated Gestation/Accelerated Development: A Bast child is carried by their mother for three short months and it takes only ten years for a Bast to reach physical, mental and emotional maturity. Miscarriage and stillbirth are virtually unknown to the Bast and abortion would be considered anathema.
-Born Instincts: A Bast is born with the knowledge of its ancestors. Some important kinds of knowledge and very strong memories brand themselves in the heart and soul of every Bast for all time and become collective memories and experiences for the entire race. But a child generally remembers more of his parents and grandparents life and experiences vividly and after that, their ancestor’s memories become different degrees of hazy. Because of these instincts, formal schooling is unnecessary and Bast take a much shorter time to mature and become functional than humans and most other races. A curious feature of these born instincts is that no Bast can vocalize the things they personally know from these collective instincts in any known dialect, no matter how hard they try. Bast instincts are indiscernible to any form of telepathy and provide limited resistance/invulnerability to any form of telepathy or mental suggestion, since the Bast are primarily guided by their instincts instead of the higher levels of thought they are nonetheless capable of.
-Short life Span/ Prime Shape: Bast only live about seventy years at the longest, but they reach their physical prime by the age of ten and don’t start to feel the effects of aging until the age of sixty.
-Superior Physical Abilities: The Bast have much greater sight, sound, touch, taste and feel than humans and are stronger, more agile, must faster, have a much higher level of endurance and a much greater degree of balance than humans.
-Tracking/Stalking: The Bast retain their large predatory feline ancestor’s ability to remain unseen and unheard, to track and stalk prey and to pounce when the time is right. The Bast’s ability to survive and blend in the wild is surpassed by no other humanoid race.

Warp Drive Engineering: Handed down from the ancient Bast who moved their planet from its original orbit, into subspace, Bast are born with the knowledge of Warp Drives that are faster, more compact and more efficient than any modern technology can reproduce. Furthermore, since this knowledge is passed down in form of basic instincts, the Bast cannot verbally or in any other manner, transmit the knowledge. The creation and repair of warp drives is just intuitive to them. This intuition can apparently apply itself to optimize Warp drives not created by the Bast.

They signed a document of loyalty to the Red Corsairs with Cass Seradin that made its own demands, including scientific resources allocated to expanding the lifespan of chosen Bast, the fact that no one from Cass’s organization would ever have any claim over the Bass home world and that the engineers and soldiers of the Bast that would serve the Red Corsairs would be treated as officers and given the respect and deference that went with being an officer.

As soon as Cass Seradin sealed the deal with the collective Prides of the Bast, he awarded Kellas with the noble title of Warlord that effectively made him Alpha over the collective Prides of the Bast. He appointed his new Warlord as his personal bounty hunter and charged him with forming an elite unit of bounty hunters that would hunt down any traitor, double dealer, non-payer or any other menace that Cass wanted captured and brought to him alive.

Kellas began organizing his own Pride of Westorck to be rotated through new and elite the Cait Sith. The Gammas would pilot, maintain and repair the ship while the Betas would backup Kellas on capture teams, when they had targets to find. After a year or so of originating, arming and training they began successfully capturing high value targets with a very high rate of success. The name of the Cait Sith and of Warlord Kellar is swiftly becoming one to be feared.

Personality:
Supremely confident, many would instead mistake him for arrogant. He is as sure of his own dominance as he is his instincts and training. He can be relaxed, is often straightforward and is sometimes blunt. He is sometimes naive and humans have a hard time interacting with him because they cannot tell if he is a wild beast or a being with the ability to think critically.  However Kellar is also strangely charismatic and likable unless you piss him off and you will then forget very quickly that he is an evolved being and will only be able see only a terrifying mountain lion before you.

How did the Red Corsair hear about and recruit you?: The entire galaxy is aware of the usefulness of the Bast thanks to two generations of Confederate military and civil service. Cass Seradin banked that based on the Bast’s primordially pack like mentality and the Confederacies inability to defeat him, that he could approach them as the Alpha of known space. His efforts were stymied at first, but in time, with Confederate defeats and further success the Bast came around. Kellas was the loudest voice in the governing body of the Bast made up of the Alphas of the Prides of the Bast that was in favor of allying with the Red Corsairs. As soon as the ink was dry on the document trying the Bast with the Red Corsairs, Cass Seradin

Additional Information:
Cait Sith: Cass Seradin immediate liked Kellas and realized that Kellas had become popular and important among the Bast. As soon as the Prides of the Bast decided to ally with the Red Corsair, Cass took Kellas as his personal body guard and asked him to form a team. Wanting people loyal to him, Kellas transformed his own Westrock Pride into the Cait Sith. Kellas always stays with his ship in the field, but he rotates his Betas and Gammas through the Cait Sith, with the females acting as pilots, engineers and his personal company and with the Betas as part of his capture team. He makes sure to regularly dominate the Betas of his Pride when they are with him in the field, so they don’t forget he is their Alpha when they rotate back to the Bast Homeworld. Gammas generally stay aboard until Kellas successfully impregnates them.
Duel Pistols: For use at close ranges, these can be used as tiny mass drivers to disable or kill a subject at short range or as sonic devices, to destroy equipment such as an opponent’s weapon and or to render a subject unable to resist without killing them. The target of a successful sonic attack’s ear drums are generally destroyed though, leaving the target deaf.
Glop Grenades: These grenades are not Bast in origin but Kellas likes them quite a bit anyway. They omit a thick and sticky substance that grows quit and bit until it wholly binds a target of human size. Firing weapons from within the expanded Glop generally leads to the death of the subject and the glop is extremely resistant to cutting from within or from without. The glop dissolves normally after a number of hours, which are lower if it is hotter and higher if it is colder. Expanded glop is not air tight.
Grappling Hook: On their home planet, the Bast Hunt game by scaling down rope from thick tree branches and attacking their target from above. Modern Bast, and especially the Cait Sith has incorporated this technique into their modern skill set by scaling down grappling hooks to confront a target.
Pride of Westrock: Kellas own Pride of whom he is the Alpha. It is easily the largest Pride of the Bast consisting of three of his brothers, a cousin and five defeated Alphas of other Prides whom he dominates and absorbed the women of. The Westrock Pride is said to contain anywhere between ten and thirty females, all of which are fiercely loyal to Kellas. Kelllas created the Cait Sith from the members of the Westrock Pride, rotating them back and forth through fieldwork and staying back in the Pridelands on the Bast homeworld.
Shotgun: A midrange mass driver of Confederate origin, a shotgun can be accurate out to several hundred meters, and the shot is very powerful, killing an opponent with one shot into vital areas such as the torso or head and nearly disabling a target with any shot to non-vital areas such as the arms or legs. Shot guns are only used when death is the desired outcome. Generally however, the Cait Sith are called into action when the Red Corsair wants someone alive.
Sniper Rifle: As part of the Confederacies premier Bast Killteam, Kellas became very familiar with long range weaponry. He doesn’t use it very often but the Red Corsair has the option of asking him to execute a target. So Kellas makes sure to keep his sniping skills sharp.
Speeder Bike: Stored in the cargo hold of the Cait Sith, Kellas can jump on his speeder bike and head toward his subject at very high speeds.
Vessel: Of Bast engineering and designed specifically for him, it was named the Sith Interceptor by its creations but he calls it simply the Cait Sith. It is very fast, terrifyingly maneuverable and generally anything it cannot outrun, it can simply outgun. The accommodations are Spartan, but the Bast aren’t quite a race of finery to begin with. The Cait Sith capture teams preferred tactic is to repel from the belly of the vessel, straight on top of targets from the repel platform in the cargohold.

Species Information: Homoid Fera-felinus (Hom-OY-id Fair-ah Feline-US)

Species History

The Bast, or Homoid Fera-felinus, are an ancient race. They evolved parallel to human’s from large predatory great cats which were similar to lions and tigers, instead of apes as humans did. Their civilization peaked several thousand years ago, long before humans would venture into the stars. Upon joining the Galactic stage they became snared in several intergalactic wars, which caused the Bast to become paranoid and xenophobic. Rather than see themselves conquered by some other galactic race, the Bast constructed great planetary warp drives much more powerful and advanced than anything known today, and moved their home world into a pocket of subspace they created, that no one would ever be able to find on purpose or by accident without knowing beforehand.

In the galaxy stories of the Bast passed from history into legend and from legend into myth, while their society on their home planet devolved, becoming primitive. Though biologically evolved into humanoid form, the Bast lived largely as beasts until their society cycled back through a long cycle of development, invention and modernization. Two generations ago, the Bast emerged from their self imposed isolation in fantastical ships with Warp engines more advanced than could be reproduced by anyone, anywhere outside of the Bast home world.

The Confederacy of Unified Systems was quick to take the Bast into their confidence. The Confederacy hired female Bast as warp engineers and the male Bast into their military ground forces. Over the next two generations the Bast once again became famous as Warp Engine designers and over the course of several wars became skilled war veterans. However the Confederacy miscalculated by not taking into account the Bast’s instinctual nature. By not being able to defeat the Red Corsair, the entire Confederacy collectively became beta to Cass Seradin and his band of space pirates.

More watchful and competent than the Confederacy, Cass Seradin saw his opportunity and initiated negotiations with the Prides of the Bast. During this trip Cass Seradin became the first non-Bast to see the Bast home world in thousands of years, safely tucked away in a pocket of subspace where Cass Seradin realized that not even the mighty Red Corsair could ever find this planet. A deal was struck between the Prides and the Red Corsair and the Bast uniformly abandoned the Confederacy and took positions within Cass Seradin’s organization.

Cass Seradin being the smart man that he is, understands a number of things. The first thing Cass understands is that that the Bast are a powerful ally. The second that Cass understood is that the Bast are a people that must be respected, because disrespect to them would bring noncompliance and the Basts means to resist are great. The third and last thing Cass understood about the Bast are that he could trust him as long as his organization was strong and dominant, but if the Red Corsair started to show any cracks, he realized that the Bast would ally with the galactic organization it considered to have become alpha.

Species Language

The Bast communicates on three different levels. All forms of communication including the language of the Lips and Tongue are learned through a Bast child’s instinctual memory.

Language of the Body: One of the reasons the Bast work so well together in battlefield environments is because they have a very vivid method of communication that consist of only body language. Anthropologists are incapable of translating most of the gestures but in this form of communication, the overall stance of the communicator, where they are facing, their facial expressions, their body movements and their tail communicate impressively complex ideas silently.

Language of the Chest: This is the roar of the Bast which they are capable of producing even though they are evolved into humanoid form. It has several purposes including communicating simple ideas over distances, intimidating opponents and attracting mates. The ideas communicated in the roar would be the equivalent of one word in common language, like help or run, yes or no. Most people are shocked by the power, decibel levels and suddenness of the roars of the Bast, there is no doubting its intimidation factor. Bast Gammas are attracted by the strength of the roar and Gammas can correctly determine from the roar if the originator is an Alpha or Beta.

Language of the Lips and Tongue: They are a spoken language that seems to be some dialect of common, which is spoken normally and reproduced by others. Additionally, Bast can and often do speak Common and other intergalactic language.

Written Language: The Bast’s original written language was written with claws in the blood of their prey. But this has evolved into a form of calligraphy, written in ink. Official State documents of the Bast people are still written in ink made with the blood of predators. Anthropologists have determined that their written language is an ancient variation of basic.

Species Traits

Biological Imperative
-Enlarged Genitals: Male Bast are known to have large genitals in comparison to humans but not incompatible with human females or other humanoids of similar dimensions.
-Selective Breeding: Gammas can mate with Betas but there is a sort of valve within the female Bast biology that will not allow the seed of a Beta to fertilize their eggs, even if they have paired with that Beta as life mates. This valve will only let an acknowledged Alphas fertilize their eggs for reproduction, unless that Alpha is a close relative (father, brother, son) in which case the value will prevent offspring from incestial liaisons.
-Sexual Receptivity and life pairing: Gammas can form life bonds with Betas, which will signal to other Betas, that the Gamma in question will not be receptive to the advances of Betas, other than their life mates. However, Gammas will always be sexually receptive to the advances of acknowledged Alphas, regardless of their relationship status.
-Vigorous Breeding: Mating between Bast is very vigorous in tempo, duration and relative violence, even more so when the mating is between Alphas and Gammas. This in addition to the size of their sexual organs leads some females of other races to seek out Bast males as sexual partners, even though Bast are incapable of actually reproducing with other species.
-Vigorous Sexual Appetites: Both males and females, Alphas, Betas and Gammas have very high sex drives and sex rates pretty high on their list of priorities. This sex drive can inhibit higher brain functions and has led Bast Betas who were cut off from sex with their own species, to rape females of other species and commonly forces those Betas to seek sexual gratification among other species. Bast are not unlike the Bonobo Chimps in that sex has replaced many other activities within Bast society, including war.

Military Skills: The Confederacy of Unified Systems took in the Bast and traded wealth and natural resources in exchange for their technical expertise on Warp Drives and having Bast serve as scouts for their ground forces and in specialized All Bast kill teams. This gave the Bast military training and combat experience and allowed them to adapt their natural hunting skills into modern military roles. That experience has since become part of the collective Bast instinct, meaning that every Bast is now by definition a born soldier.

Pack Mentality
-Alpha: Within every Pride there is a single male Alpha who is the acknowledged leader and reproducer. This means that the strongest and most intelligent will lead the Bast and the genes of the strongest and most intelligent will become more frequent within the Bast gene pool. Alphas include those Betas who were formerly considered Betas but successfully challenged an Alpha and thus took his place as Alpha within the Pride. Alphas get the first and last choice of food, sexual partners and material wealth and objects.
-Beta: In a wolf pack, those wolves that are not dominant, but are submissive and are also leaders who could become Alphas, are considered Betas. In Bast society all males that are not Alphas within the Pride are Betas. They are the protectors of the Gammas and the followers of the Alpha. Betas include those Alphas who were successfully challenged by other Alphas or by Betas and thereby lost their Alpha status. They get second choice of food, sexual partners and material wealth and objects.
-Displays of Dominance: Displays of dominance that are part of challenges are generally forced oral or anal sex between Alphas and Betas or more rarely between Alphas and Alphas. Success here either maintains or reorders status among the Pride. More routine displays of dominance which are used by established Alphas to reassert already established dominance can be the breeding of a Betas life bonded Gamma by an Alpha, in the presence of the Beta. In the case of former Alphas who have become Betas but who have immature female offspring, the breeding of those immature offspring by an Alpha in the presence of the Beta, can also serve as a display of dominance. In both of these cases the Beta would be left to raise the child, which serves as a further display of dominance. Routine displays of dominance shame and arouse the Beta, thrusting them even further into submissiveness, but they also foster feelings of protectiveness and loyalty to the Alpha from the Beta.
-Dominance: The single most important determinate within Bast society, dominance is established by physique, the size of one’s sexual organ, leadership ability and guile. Most Alphas are born with dominant traits and their dominance is established early. However some Betas find other Prides and challenge that Prides Alpha, who is in some way less dominant than their original Alpha, or Betas can develop some kind of non-hereditary advantage and successfully challenge an Alpha. Alphas can also by injury or sickness become less dominant and would then be challenged by his Prides Betas. An Alpha of one Pride who successfully challenges the Alpha of another Pride, effectively absorbs that Prides females and the males of the first Pride except the former Alpha, are generally exiled, leaving Betas within a Pride good reason to challenge a weakened Alpha before another Prides Alpha can. Challenges are won by conclusive displays of dominance and have been described as two Bast men trying desperately to rape each other.
-Gamma: In a wolf pack, the Gamma is not quite submissive but is also not a leader, among the Bast, this role is filled by their females. Instead of having their own dominance hierarchy, females are outside of the dominance hierarchy by being subordinate to the dominance hierarchy entirely. The Alpha who can be assumed to have superior genetic traits, can ensure their offspring will have superior genetic traits by having their pick of the best females with whom to breed. Effectively however, Alphas breed with as many females as possible relying on their superior genetic traits alone to ensure genetically superior offspring. While Alphas and Betas generally serve as statesmen and soldiers, Gammas are known to be the best pilots and engineers.

Pride Organization: Traditionally when male offspring reach maturity, they are exiled from their Pride of birth. This is because the established males don’t want to share the females of the Pride with the younger males and the Alphas fear that one of the younger males will depose him. New prides are formed by three to five males, who are sometimes brothers or cousins but can just as easily be totally unrelated. After determining who among them is Alpha, these males find an established Pride or return to their original Pride and attempt to dispose the sitting Alpha of that tribe to gain females for their new Pride. Now days most males leave their Pride with one Gamma, in order to allow them to form with other males who also probably have a single Gamma and start a new Pride without having to challenge another Pride. Among Bast Society, loyalty is due to ones Pride and hereditary relation has little or no significance.

Racial Characteristics
-Accelerated Gestation/Accelerated Development: A Bast child is carried by their mother for three short months and it takes only ten years for a Bast to reach physical, mental and emotional maturity. Miscarriage and stillbirth are virtually unknown to the Bast and abortion would be considered anathema.
-Born Instincts: A Bast is born with the knowledge of its ancestors. Some important kinds of knowledge and very strong memories brand themselves in the heart and soul of every Bast for all time and become collective memories and experiences for the entire race. But a child generally remembers more of his parents and grandparents life and experiences vividly and after that, their ancestor’s memories become different degrees of hazy. Because of these instincts, formal schooling is unnecessary and Bast take a much shorter time to mature and become functional than humans and most other races. A curious feature of these born instincts is that no Bast can vocalize the things they personally know from these collective instincts in any known dialect, no matter how hard they try. Bast instincts are indiscernible to any form of telepathy and provide limited resistance/invulnerability to any form of telepathy or mental suggestion, since the Bast are primarily guided by their instincts instead of the higher levels of thought they are nonetheless capable of.
-Short life Span/ Prime Shape: Bast only live about seventy years at the longest, but they reach their physical prime by the age of ten and don’t start to feel the effects of aging until the age of sixty.
-Superior Physical Abilities: The Bast have much greater sight, sound, touch, taste and feel than humans and are stronger, more agile, must faster, have a much higher level of endurance and a much greater degree of balance than humans.
-Tracking/Stalking: The Bast retain their large predatory feline ancestor’s ability to remain unseen and unheard, to track and stalk prey and to pounce when the time is right. The Bast’s ability to survive and blend in the wild is surpassed by no other humanoid race.

Warp Drive Engineering: Handed down from the ancient Bast who moved their planet from its original orbit, into subspace, Bast are born with the knowledge of Warp Drives that are faster, more compact and more efficient than any modern technology can reproduce. Furthermore, since this knowledge is passed down in form of basic instincts, the Bast cannot verbally or in any other manner, transmit the knowledge. The creation and repair of warp drives is just intuitive to them. This intuition can apparently apply itself to optimize Warp drives not created by the Bast.

On’s: Cuckolding, domination, gay sex acts, impregnation,  incest, interracial/interspecies, multiple partners, nonconsent, rough sex.
Off’s: too much blood, vore, gore, scat and other gross subjects.
