He also is executive producer on a few films.  His career is defiantly not over, he just isn't in the front as much as he use to be.

He's taking a page out of Ron Howard's book.. money can be made off camera.. he's just one of the guys bankrolling rather than directing. Looking over his production credits he does a lot of his bigger successes (the MI franchise and Last Samurai) and he has a SIZABLE chuck of UA..

He might not be on the screen much but he makes cash from movies.
