Tailoring and Enchanting while at high levels is useful and profitable.. at lower levels uses a LOT of resources.. i'm lvl 63 and have never had more than a couple hundred gold in my posession at any time.

One of the best money makers (at least in my experience/on my server) is mining/jewelcrafting.

Best cash for me was my alchemist making healing/mana potions for my engineer to make into injectors. I was pulling in a TON of cash till the potion stacking change. I've made a few bikes for folks (they have the parts I make them.. made a few coin out of that but mostly it's been not too profitable) I make a few surges of cash with my JC/Tailor selling bags and cut gems but I don't have any RELIABLE income aside from my eternal buckles and selling of mats right now. EVERYONE always needs buckles and gems, but the gem market is wicked stupid at times. Folks on my server are CONSTANTLY undercutting each other. I've seen epic gems going for less than vendor cost on weekends.

I find I make enough gold just from doing dailies and running instances. I use my professions for myself and my guild ONLY, and therefore don't really care if they nerf their profitability. Although with the changes in repair costs for cloth armor, I might reconsider. XP

Considering my main is a plate wearing tank and I've have HIDEOUS repair bills in the past (The record for one night is a half pug raid @ 450g, never trust a pug healer for raids again.) I like lots of coin on hand and I want to make a motorcycle for my engineer eventually as well as pay for a few of the high end mounts since Blizzard boned the alliance out of having new mounts (Worgen don't get them!).

Serephino

I had the most luck with collecting and selling herbs.  Mining and jc are okay if you can find all the gems you need.  If you have to buy them it can get costly sometimes.

Zaer Darkwail

My best income was.....selling shadowmourn quest item epics. Tabard sold 40K, mount 20K, teleport neck 8K, frost dwarf change 6,5K. I kept the music box myself. Still have +32K even after buying glyphs this patch and getting all alts second fastest flight speed (fastest now being 310%) and also leveling my tailor alt to get fast rug mount and finish engineering on my main.

O_o...Worgen don't get mounts? WTF?!

So..if they have running wild instead of mounts...does that mean they get riding skill for free, or do they still have to buy it? O_o...And...if they do have to buy it...what the hell would they use it on? You'd have to become exalted or be extremely lucky to get a 60% or 100% speed mount to ride on. O-o

Zaer Darkwail

So far as I know that is 'worgen only' mount so other races cannot get it. Also you need pay for it still.

Kytn

That is silly. D= Although there would probably be an outrage if worgen got riding for completely free.
Updates coming soon!

Wolfy

Outrageous! o3o...Worgens should at least be able to get the human mount for free, as they are techniqually still human.

TheGlyphstone

I don't know why people are complaining except for the hardcore achievement grinders who probably already have the Lots of Mounts achievement anyways. Worgen aren't being deprived of something that all the other races have, they're getting a bonus that no other race can ever get.

Speaking as one of the grinders who is right now 19 mounts short, I think it's unfair.  Hordies get access to the goblin mounts but we get boned by this

Which is why it's so confusing to me. Maybe I don't value achievement points enough, but why is it so unfair that someone else has a slightly easier time earning an achievement to warrant the absurd level of unrest this is causing across the intertubes? Unless you're in a race with someone from the opposite faction to earn that achievement, it shouldn't matter. Horde get access to the goblin mounts at Exalted with New Horde Goblin Faction reputation level (unless they're Goblin, they they have to get Exalted for everyone else), and frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see a "Gilean Pony" added in an early patch, if it's possible at all for non-Worgen to grind Gilneas reputation, just that Worgen can't ride mounts. Making it easier for Horde to get 100+ mounts doesn't somehow make it harder to Alliance to do the same (boning Alliance?), and in the meantime, Worgen get something unique and cool that no other race, Alliance or Horde, will benefit from. To me, I think it should be the Horde QQing their eyes out that Alliance was the only side given a Plainsrunning-like ability that didn't suck horribly and actually fit the race's theme, while they the Horde only got "more dumb mounts to grind for". One is something other players can actually see, the other is restricted to those of your own faction who bother to inspect your achievement list. And if Blizzard screws up and makes Running Wild have mechanical effects (say, making it instant a la Druid flight form, or making so it can't be "dismounted" from by damage), the flames of HORDE RAGE will be staggering.

Callie Del Noire

Do you even know how hard the last 20 or so mounts are to get? You have to mostly get lucky with instance/raid drops that in some cases have a less than 1% drop rate. (Startholme should be the holiest place on earth considering how many times I've done it for the Barons mount). Now the Horde grinders get an additional 8-10 mounts with a new faction gain?

Though it won't be easy considering the starting areas are only accessible to the starting goblins/worgen.

Lycan Queen

Then why don't you all come play with the Horde? It's much better here anyway. ;) (just kidding, I roll both, though I prefer Horde).

I will fully admit this: I'm an altaholic who's been searching for good roleplays. My mains are on Moon Guard, but I stay faaaaaaar away from the infamous Pornshire. You'll have the most luck sending an in game mail to the following alts, although I haven't been on due to my interents crapping out on me, and no way am I playing WoW on dial up.

Moon Guard (all Horde for now, though making some ally alts for Cataclysm.)
Liakna: Tauren Resto/Feral Druid. In a guild, free for all rp.
Kiakal: Troll Blood Death Knight. No guild, free for all rp.
Jandaline: Undead Frost Mage. No guild, free for rp, PM me first, don't go on much.
Ayeami: Orc Demonology Warlock. No guild, free for rp, PM me first, don't go on much.
Nalgara: Troll Discipline Priest. No guild, free for rp, PM me first, don't go on much.

Emerald Dream (Horde and Ally mix)
Kirkal: Troll Beast Master Hunter. In a guild, free for rp.
Nyinne: Night Elf Holy Priest. No guild, free for rp, PM me first, don't go on much.
Fellana: Draenei Retribution Paladin. No guild, free for rp, PM me first, don't go on much.
Noverianna: Undead Arms Warrior. In a guild, free for rp, PM me first, don't go on much.
Terrinet: Gnome Assassination Rogue. No guild, free for rp, PM me first, don't go on much.

8-10? I'm not aware of any faction with more than 6 racial mounts - 3 60% speed, 3 100% speed.

Pvp mounts make it 7 my bad. Still that is a bit.

TheGlyphstone

Okay, 7, fair enough.

Still - please don't take this wrongly or personally, but my overall impression of this and the other similar issues that have come up over Wow's life (everything from racial-specific spells to new quests) tends towards looking at two kids in the candy store, one bawling and screaming because the other kid's mommy bought him a slightly bigger candy bar (which faction is the bawler depends on the specific issue at hand, and changes frequently). It's not some sort of evil racial faction discrimination, one of the two just got a better/easier reward for the same amount of effort, and the second kid's candy bar isn't bigger because he broke a chunk off the first kid's candy and stole it.

Callie Del Noire

Actually my numbers were right.  4 apprentice, 3 journeyman, 1 pvp makes 8 and I doubt either race has a tourney mount.

TheGlyphstone

4 apprentice? I thought it was 3 and 3. My bad then.

Had to check myself to make sure. I went crazy when I got crusader. And to be honest I LIKE the dragonhawk mount.

TheGlyphstone

I just did a quick analysis on WoWiki, actually, and it's not consistent. Some factions (Gnomes, Night Elves, Humans, Orcs, and Blood Elves) have 4 apprentice and 3 Journeyman, while the others (Draenai, Dwarves, Tauren, Undead, Trolls) have 3/3. So by the racial rep mounts alone, Alliance has 1 freebie - if Kezan Goblins have only the 3/3 split, then the Horde 'advantage' goes from -1 racial mounts to +5, instead of +0 to +7.

Callie Del Noire

You are full of sour persimmons today ain't you? (not that I'd be doing this as a Hordie.. I don't want a chocobo!)

Achievement score supposedly helps the guild level, so I hope this will help us surge forward a bit, of course I expect Unrestrained, Tiras and Jesters on my server to blow us out of the water.

TheGlyphstone

I'm always full of sour persimmons. I'm actually a genetically fused hybrid of human and sour persimmon grown in a laboratory tank, with more sour persimmon parts surgically grafted on at birth. I have a lifetime membership in good standing to the Sour Persimmons Social Club.

Don't get me started on guild achievement/mounts though...freaking Horde Scorpion of awesomeness compared to a wyvern with the wings ripped off for Allies...grumble.

Aiden

Holy shit are you serious, the Lion is a bad ass mount. I am playing alliance for that reason alone.

Wyvern?

It's a lion..and it looks cool.
