This was one of the first games I played on Elliquiy and is still one of my favorites, so I'm going to try to bring it back.  The gist of the game is simple: one person has the power, and has to give dares to the other players to complete.  Whoever's brave enough to finish a dare gets the power next and can use it to change something (more on that later), and then gets to decide who gets dares.  This being Elliquiy, the dares can (and probably will) run much more towards the sexual side of things.

More details on the rules:

One player begins the game with the Power, but cannot use it for a special ability.  The other players must ask the player with the Power to get a dare, and the Power player must give everyone who asks a dare.  The dares can be the same, or each person can get their own dare, but everyone must get a dare.  Dares can include promises, but those promises are only binding until the Power passes again.  Once someone finishes a dare, all other dares are removed, although the new owner of the Power can give the same dares out.

Once you get the Power from finishing a dare, you can do one of three things: change the environment, change yourself, or make a special item.

Changing the environment: The game starts in a large, open warehouse, with a few ceiling lights but nothing else noteworthy.  Changing the environment can do just about anything you can think of, from just adding new furniture to the place, to completely changing the location (perhaps we'll end up on a beach, or in a cave...).  There are a few limits, however: first, there can't be anything alive or otherwise active aside from the players.  There won't be snakes in a jungle (though trees are fine), for instance.  Second, the technology level is mundane modern-world stuff.  You can have something from ancient times, but nothing futuristic; a laser gun will just make noises and have flashing lights, although the environment could end up like a sci-fi movie set.  Note that when you pick this option, you can change any details that were changed or added by a previous player, but you cannot use it to remove special items created by a player.

Change yourself: You can change any physical characteristics of your own character.  You can't develop any kind of superhuman abilities, but non-human changes (such as growing extra arms, turning into an elf or catgirl, and so on) are fine.

Create an item: You can create a single item or set of related items with special (potentially magical) abilities.  These can do almost anything you want, from candies that make someone shrink or grow, to glasses that let you see through walls, or whatever else you can think of.  However, there are a few rules.  First, it must be simple to describe; it shouldn't require someone playing out the item as if it were a separate character, and the entirety of what it does should be describable in 3-4 sentences.  It should function similarly on everyone, though differences based on the user's gender is allowed, as is differences for how it's used, so long as it can still be fully described in a few sentences.  Finally, if the item is supposed to be consumed or otherwise used up, it can only be used six times (so if you make shrinking candy, you only get six pieces of it to give out, and will have to get the Power again to get more).  The same applies if the item has permanent or long-lasting effects (such as a belt that permanently changes the wearer's gender, even after being removed).  Note that while you need to describe what the item does out of character, the other characters don't necessarily know what it does unless you tell them.

Character sheet: Note that all players begin the game as an ordinary human, with the option of changing by using the Power.

I'm considering adding these in as extra, optional rules, depending on what people want.

Blind dares: Normally, dares are entirely consensual; the person asking for a dare can decide whether or not to complete the dare, and there's no penalty (beyond not getting the Power) to declining a dare.  With this rule, players can ask for a blind dare instead.  When a blind dare is asked for, no more dares can be given out (although already-given dares can still be completed), and the person asking for a blind dare is required and compelled to complete the dare.  The dare should avoid anything the player listed as "offs" in the character sheet, but beyond that there's no need to ask the character what they're willing to do.  Blind dares have two main limits that normal dares don't have: the dare cannot specify how the player uses the Power once they get it and cannot specify how that player gives out dares, and it should be something that can be completed in about 10 minutes (in-character time) or less.  Blind dare promises are no more binding than normal dare promises; only until the power passes again.

No identical dares: Whenever the power passes, everyone's dare must be different from any other dare they received since they last had the Power, unless the player asks for a repeated dare from earlier.  As always, the player with the Power has final say on which dares are given out, but must still give a dare to each person that asks for one.  If the first dare is declined, they still have the option to issue more dares, but only the first dare is required to be different.

Destroying items: A fourth option for the Power is destroying special items made by other players.  I'm not sure what kind of limits would be on this power, likely only allowing two or three items to be destroyed, and not allowing you to destroy new items (something like, the last three items made with the power can't be destroyed).  This rule is mostly so that we don't end up with a completely crazy game once several items are made with the Power, but I'm still iffy about doing it this way.

Changing others: When using the power, instead of changing yourself, you can change another player.  Even if this rule is chosen, you MUST give OOC permission before anyone can use it on you.  IC permission isn't required, however.  Note that even if we don't have this rule, special items can be used to accomplish similar effects to whoever uses them.

Yukina

I'd love to join this. :) I post my sheet in a bit.

Yukina

Name: Suzume Sasahara
Gender: Female
Orientation: Lesbain

Appearance:
Spoiler: Click to Show/Hide
Personality: Bio: Suzume was born to her Japanese mother and her American father. She inherited most of her features from her mother, though she has her father's skin tone. She was very happy at a young age, but her self esteem was soon crushed as she entered school. Suzume was made fun of throughout her school life for her nationality, nerdy habits, and budding sexuality. Any friend she even had gotten had been one of those "fair weather friends".  Fortunately for her, she had graduated high school early and she current has her degree in web design. Suzume mostly just resides in her apartment (which is filled to the brim with otaku-related merchandise and objects), only going out for her book store employee job and other necessities.

Non-con: Only if asked in OOC
Limits: Anal, Gore, Mutilation

Zaer Darkwail

I was in the first dare game and it was great deal of fun :). I voice my interest (make char later).

Sethala

Oh, one thing I forgot to mention: no one actually "tries" to get into the room with the Power, they just kind of show up there somehow.  It can be different for everyone, but usually some variation of going through a doorway and suddenly realizing they're in a completely different place.  So, everyone who shows up will really have no idea what's going on, at least until the other characters tell them about it.

Yukina

Good. It allows me to have a good reason why Suzume would be there. :)

RainyHigh

Showing interest, will be back to put up character later.

This was my first game too and it was so much fun! I'm in again!

Also, I vote for blind dares and no identical dares.

I don't think destroying items would be useful, and certainly not very creative and moving the game forward. We can always store the unused items away if they don't fit the current environment.

I second these emotions.

Withdrawing. Have fun!
Name: Bradley Bazzanella aka Baz
Gender: Male
Orientation: Bisexual, leaning more towards Gay than Straight

Appearance
Personality: Simply put, Baz is an asshole. He rarely thinks before he speaks, he's arrogant and crass, vulgar and unpredictable. His only saving grace is he's easy on the eyes, both in looks and physique, and he's not above sharing his killer body with those he deems worthy, which is nearly anyone he comes in contact with since he maintains such low standards. So if you can deal with the shit that's perpetually spewing from his lips, you're in for one hell of a wild ride!

Non-con: Okay
Limits: None

Zaer Darkwail

I vote yes for blind dares and 'no identical dares'. Destroying item however is not creative but perhaps add 'add function' to existing item. Meaning if someone conjured a full body latex suit with no zipper, then person with power could wish for add vibrator function to entire suit (than wish it away) or change substance of the suit into gel. Also vote yes for able wish change (or reverse change) on someone.

Anyways here comes my char;

Name: Nobi Takeda (or Takeda Nobi as introductions go in Japan)
Gender: Male
Orientation: Straight

Appearance
Personality/Bio: Nobi Takeda was born in Japan but his parents moved to states, so he has been raised by two cultures same time in his childhood and he has more American culture adapted than his Japanese origin. He could be called 'otaku' for his interest in anime and manga and he is a manga artist, with some hentai artwork as puberty hit him and quite large collection of otaku products in his appartment. He is graphic designer and graphic drawer for advertisement label design office. He was athletic in sports and also intellectual in university and he naturally was studying mostly arts. He has rather handsome look but he has need to wear glasses full time or else everything around him becomes a blur.

Non-con: Okay with it
Limits: Check my ons/off page. I am open minded for femdom.

Sethala

I moved the "changing others" option to the optional rules section, to highlight it a bit better.

It looks like most of you are in favor of blind dares and unique dares, so I'll be adding those two rules in.  By the way, the "unique dares" bit is intended to mostly be OOC so that the players can eventually get the power to themselves, and I'm not going to make any hard and fast rules about what makes dares too similar.  Realistically, if you can't think of a dare to give to a person that they haven't already gotten since the last time they got the power, it's probably time for them to get the power anyway (although if someone just declines dares constantly so they can get an easy one, I'll probably specify that the rule doesn't apply to them for a bit).

That's not a bad idea Zaer, though I think I'll still specify that it can't be used on the last three items made, just so someone can get a chance to use their item before it's changed by someone else.

Also, just to get the game started off, I'll have my character start with the power, however she won't have the option of using it, only give dares with it.  Thematically, the person with the power is surrounded by a glowing aura, that's fairly bright when they first get it, and fades to a dim glow when they've used it to do something.

Zaer Darkwail

Sounds okay to me; last three items are protected from manipulation. Anyways fine Sethala's char hold the Power and do first dares.

AurelieCatena

Glad to see that blind dares are accepted.

I'm not a fan of body modifications, so I don't like the idea of having them forced upon my character. Should this rule be implemented, I guess I would just have to put it into my OFFs.

Character sheet on the way.

AurelieCatena

Name: Rat
Gender: Female
Orientation: Bisexual
Appearance: 23 year-old, red-haired Gothic/punk look with tattoos and piercings. She is somewhat athletic though a bit skinny (see picture).
Personality: Rat (nobody knows her real name) has always liked to provoke, by her appearance and her behaviour. This has gotten her ejected of all the schools she attended until she was put in a specialised institution that looked more like a penitentiary than a school. Corporal and humiliating punishments did not break her though and as soon as she reached adulthood she ran away. Since then she has survived by doing minor felonies or being maintained by her boyfriends, of which she changes often.
She gets no pleasure from sex and sees it only as a mean to an end (getting a man in love with her so that he pays her what she needs).
Non-con: OK
Limits: Not pleasured or sexually teased, no non-human body modifications

Muse

#15
Name:      Martin Krause
Gender:   Male
Orientation:   Straight

Appearance:

Personality:  A decent young fellow, intelligent, and creative.  Martim is a daydreamer studying creative writing and commercial art at University of Texas South-Western.

Unpopular with women, young and awkward and shy, he deals with his repressed passion and loneliness with any number of off the wall sexual fantasies, some of which are passingly popular on adult web sites.

When Martin first discovers The Power, he will use it to transform himself into a mighty giant, muscular and handsome, with some rather interesting inhuman features.

Non-Consensual: Certainly.

Limits:      I’m going to be lax about my usual limits here because of the nature of the game.  Please don’t ask Martin to do anything homosexual.  I prefer not to mix blood and sex, and I’m not comfortable around an overabundance of sexual bodily fluids—though this last one is kinda growing on me.

Looks like we've got a good group going so far.  I think I'll start the game thread up on Wednesday sometime.  The game will continue to be open-ended however, so anyone can join in right away if they want.

RainyHigh

Name: Kala Misra White
Gender: Female
Orientation: Bi-curious

Appearance:

Personality: Kala is a determined woman. She has many aspirations to be greater and attain more power so she can become high ranked in the police force. Kala is a strong willed woman, a keen listener and observer but is not afraid to "act the part" and socialize when the time calls for it. Kala believes that everyone is equal regardless of their cultural background or skin color. Kala is loyal, and she has lots of patience for stupidity. She is not afraid to protect those who can't protect themselves and stop those who want to hurt others that can't protect themselves. Kala despises bullies of any kind.

Non-con (Never, Only if asked OOC, Ok, Ok if...): OK if asked OOC.
Limits: Mutilation, (Play with Vomit, Blood, and Scat), Death (unless she has the power to come back to life, but will probably kill back).

Nice character, RainyHigh. :) Suzume will probably want to be friends with her.

AurelieCatena

There is no IC thread for this game yet, right?

I prefer to ask because I have a history of missing the IC thread notice in the interest threads...

Not yet, but I'll be working on it soon.

For now though, to keep everything organized I'll have everyone go post characters in the character thread, here: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=195105.0  Note that I added in two extra spaces for the sheet: one for the character's age, and one for any special items the character has.  Right now that should be empty for everyone, but whenever you use the power to get something, please add it to the sheet.  (The same goes for whenever you use the power to alter yourself.)

For special rules, I'm only going to have blind dares and unique dares (note that a blind dare does not have to follow the unique dare rule!)  However, special items will have the ability to permanently change someone's appearance (or at least permanent until it's changed by another item or the person using the power on themselves).  If someone makes a transformation item you don't like, feel free to ask them not to use it on you in OOC, but be wary that it could be used as part of a dare (blind or otherwise).  I'm fine with players working out a blind dare's terms OOC before agreeing to it IC, but the player with the power always gets final say on what blind dares are given out, so if you can't come to an agreement, don't take one.

Edit: OOC/rules thread is up as well: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=195111.0.  If you have any questions about the rules or think something should be changed or clarified, let me know.

Sethala

And the IC thread is up: https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php?topic=195119.0

Feel free to have your character find their way into the warehouse however you want, once at least one other person shows up we can begin.  Please don't post until you've copied your character sheet over to the character thread, however.

Sethala

Just a quick bump to tell everyone that while the game has started, players are welcome to join in whenever they want.  If this looks interesting, feel free to drop a message!

I might like to try. it's a bit fuzzy in my head on all the rules... gotta go over them again.

Sethala

Yeah, I do need to re-write them, I think.  And I need to add links to the other threads.  But, if you've got any questions, let me know and I"ll try to explain things better.

Ironwolf85

I was wondering as the world changes, does that effect NPC's... if a player makes a bunker, with soldiers, does that change the
Off screen characters? or what if they ask for the land of candy gumdrops with the power.

Sethala

Well first off, there are no NPCs; changing the environment doesn't add any kind of creatures.  So if you were to make a bunker, you could add guns, ammo, outfits, body armor, and whatever else you can think of to throw in there, but the players would be the only characters in it.  They can dress up as soldiers and such, and perhaps have a mock battle (hopefully the guns would be paintball guns in that case...), but that's it.  And yes, silly places like a land of candy gumdrops is perfectly fine (although it might get changed again rather quickly when someone else takes the power).

Ironwolf85

alright then, I'll come up with something, but will probably end up looking like my icon a bit.

Do note that characters must start off as ordinary humans; you can use the power to change yourself to something else (including to something resembling your avatar) as the game goes on, but otherwise it really defeats the purpose of being able to change yourself if you can just start off looking however you want.

AurelieCatena

It really is a very fun game. And the good this is you can enter and leave and come back at any point (unless of course your character has the Power, in which case it is good etiquette to give dares before you leave).

Ironwolf85

alright, I'm going to have a busy day today, but I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

We are looking for more players to join us in this fun game. You don't need to read everything that happened to join. Only read the rules in the first post of this thread. Don't be afraid to ask us any question.

This is a really fun game, even more so when there are many players interacting.

Come-on! Join us, it's easy, it does not take a lot of time. Pure fun!
