Kingdom Hearts: Eden Echo (BESM 3rd Edition Recruitment)

Hello, exceptional friends! I have a love for the Big Eyes, Small Mouth system, and I also love the mad mad mash-up of Kingdom Hearts, so, why not shove them together? This is merely an interest check-to see if others are interested in running around in this world. Below, I shall detail the plot, and if  you find this idea tasty, post your interest!

An extra detail: This won't be like how KH usually is, with its "See the movie, play the movie!" type set up for the Disney worlds. Depending on the world, the movie will have either happened or is going to happen, and this plot is completely new.

(Oh, for those of you who don't know: Kingdom Hearts is a setting where Final Fantasy and Disney characters are mashed together. Most characters are confined to their worlds, but it is possible for Donald and Goofy to hang out with Cloud and Squall. And that's just the start)

The world of "Kingdom Hearts" is a splintered one, where a great fight over the Light lead to a near apocalypse. Ever since those days, the many splintered worlds have not once been touched by Darkness or Light. Heroes and villains still rise, as they always do, but the two great Powers have laid dormant.

Now, Darkness awakes, and begins a mad rampage to devour the world once more. In response, so too has Light awoken. Blessed by powers beyond their knowing, heroes and villains do battle for the fate of the worlds. The Darkness has unleashed its greatest weapons, the dark creatures known as the Heartless, born when a being gives up Hope and turns completely to the dark powers of the beyond. In response, the Light has bestowed a few heroes with the grand weapons known as "Keyblades", weapons capable of sealing worlds away beyond the reach of the Darkness. In the middle of this battle, mysterious entities known as "Nobodies" also emerge, seemingly born from the shells left behind when a Heartless is created.

The war has only just begun. Will you answer the call of the Light?

Half canon, half not. The worlds will be there, and the characters all exist from all things Disney and FF, but the story is a completely new venture and OCs are totally allowed. And it is totally new because, to my knowledge, none of the games have involved Garland. Or Terra.

Everyone will get 300 points to build their characters.

Bear in mind, origin world will have some impact. Elsa will be surprised to see Radiant Garden when she sees it (by the way, Radiant Garden aka Hollow Bastion is where we're starting), and people would be surprised to see other worlds. I'm inclined to forgo Gummi Ships in favor of 'Portals of Light', similar to how the Organization moved around in KH2 but for the heroes instead.

A mix of both. Andy is going to be playing Elsa, and I'll be playing Terra Branford from FF6, and there will be a few canon Final Fantasy Villains that actually have an impact (like, say, Garland).

As for you Yugi, that is quite fine. Realize that Radiant Garden, or whatever world you're from, has had its own troubles to begin with outside of Heartless and Nobodies, so it's fine to start out with some ability already.

I haven't 100% decided yet honestly.  If I do go with Elsa, I imagine the heartless attack right around the time she built the castle. It'd allow for the most RP opportunity.

As I toy with concepts for Elsa, it occurs to me more and more that she's probably too powerful for a BESM game.  I mean, she built an ice castle overnight.  Short of abusing Power Flux Creation with Permanence, I'm not even sure how that would be accomplished.  Even then, casually creating a snowman that lasts until it melts (or worse yet, gets its own personal flurry) seems overpowered.

Add to that how I never feel fully comfortable playing canon characters, and I'll keep pondering.

Yeah, practically any canon would have to be heavily nerfed. It's like River Tam in the Serenity RPG-her stats are highly nerfed compared to her on screen presence because she'd be fucking unstoppable. Most of us seem to be playing originals to start with, though I totally lay claim to Terra, so, there you go.

I would say don't write yourself into a job. The only thing I know of Ivalice is actually 12, which is not a job based thing. So, basically, build what you like.

History:
Yuki wasn't born like most. Rather, she was created. Synthesized and made from code and pieces of programming. Byte by byte she was assembled on the Grid by Flynn as an opposing force to Clu and as a pet project to keep him occupied. She was strong, adept in physical combat and given various abilities to augment that, including her own personal Light Cycle that was encoded specifically for her. Problems soon arose when the heartless attacked the grid, however, and darkness began to take over. Clu, a man who had been a tyrant and militaristic in his take over of the grid, began to seize more and more ground as the heartless bolstered his forces.

A fateful day came when Yuki was dispatched on a routine mission to combat the growing heartless threat in the best way that she could, and instead came face to face with Rinzler, Clu's chief soldier in the field. A long battle started as darkness encroached around them, and Yuki was forced to retreat all the way to the portal between worlds that was, unknown to everyone, a gateway to another universe and world entirely. A hit to her throat and a kick to the chest, and she was gone through the portal with the sheer force from the attack, ejected from the Grid and set adrift in the space between worlds as darkness flooded the Grid and soon took it over, leaving it in a dreaming state of nightmares. While she drifted, Yuki's heart called out to her home world, and to nearby worlds as well, strong and heavy as she found herself an outsider in a strange land, waking in Hallow Bastion.

Yuki's strong heart resonated with her home world, and bestowed upon her two key blades, made from the salvaged fragments of light from The Grid, the two fragments that might be strong enough to recover it. Now Yuki has to face not only the darkness for the sake of everyone else, but to take back her home, for surely Flynn is also fighting against Clu even as the world itself sleeps.

So like, kingdom hearts version of intelligent undead, or at least that's how I see it.

I checked wiki for info and I think I found the answer; sort body which has echo of personality but without emotions in them (or some theory it's possible regain emotions or the sense of hollow feeling with nobodies come with uncertainty and uneasy feeling for not having heart and thus they shy away feeling emotions and instead fake them).

Background

Pam Iver came to be when a man devoted to justice and courage fell to deepest of despairs at loss of all friends and loved ones during a crusade against the darkness of the world. Giving birth to rather ferocious unique Heartless monster which retained humanoid form clad in armor and driven only by merciless wrath and bloodlust. While Pam Iver manifested at Twilight Town, with barely no memories at all who or what he was. But he eventually figured it out himself; that he was Nobody. The sense of hollow and lack of emotion is immense in him, as he has not even memories of emotions to try mimic them at all. Only negative emotions he can more correspond to and create in him.

However he does have sense of.....purpose? He is driven to action to still fight darkness; fight against Heartless. Not because of sense to protect life, pride nor joy. It's just what he feels is his purpose in his excistence. Simple as that. Besides slaying heartless he cares little else, he does not care saving people even if it's byproduct in what he is doing most of the time. None the less he employs his skilled combat skills for use in battle against heartless and other creatures of darkness. Albeit he has noticed he has sort craving to create negative emotions, to feel something. So far he has chosen lust, simplest and most least harmful for other people (better rape than murder someone overall).
