Everytime I click on a link to E from my PM box, I get a message that says that there is a problem with your security certificate.  I don't have any problems logging in or moving around the site otherwise.

I get this occasionally. My guess is it is someone's avatar or an image in a sig that is hosted on a site where there is a problem with the certificate.

It'd most likely be in the Avatars, as all the sig images how to be hosted on the wiki now because of some problems the hotlinking was causing.

It's unlikely to be avatars either, as when you upload them or link them from another site, they get downloaded and retained on the E server to prevent hotlinking issues.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Some people have links to Elliquiy's secure site in their sigs, I know I fixed several of them, hrm.

I'm planning on getting a superior certificate (one with more browser support) in not too long, but let me know whose links you clicked on to get that.

It's been a while, but I'm fairly certain every time I clicked on an E link from the SB I got the security certificate warning thingy-majig.

Although I was running on IE at the time, so general dodgyness may explain it...

Well, it's because IE does not have the CA in it's root certificate, while Firefox 3 and Safari 3 both do.

You can enable it simply by adding an 's' after the http:

https://elliquiy.com/forums/index.php

However, your browser may not recognize the root certificate, and you will need to install it first if that is the unfortunate case. It is not at all difficult, just go here and install it as a 'Trusted Root Certification Authority':

If you need instructions, Startcom has a forum topic providing more details:
