Myself and another are looking for a game that combines elements of Dragonriders of Pern and D&D3.5. The idea is the players are in pairs- rider and dragon.

Don't have much beyond the basic idea of course, but freeform over system at this point...

So, interest anyone?

Sounds interesting. I'd be up for playing either a rider or a dragon.

I would be interested on dragon or raider if there are any roles to take still, dragon or a rider :)

happy to play a dragon or a rider (riders role play their own dragons may be easier)

Also i like that it is freeform , but what type of sexual content will it be ? Exotic ? Light ? You may need to clarify that

perhaps others can state their preference, and if it sort of looks like it will work i am happy to give storytelling a go

The best way to handle this would be to run it as a gestalt campaign, and have every character have to take 20 levels of Dragonrider as one of their two classes progressions. The Dragonrider class can be found under the 3rd party classes section of www.d20pfsrd.com/ . Believe me when I tell you that the high LA will make dragon characters useless from a statistical perspective if you use the progressions in Draconomicon.
Pretty much scrapped my signature because everything in it is hilariously out of date. I might work on fixing that eventually.

Kate

if i was the storyteller it would be freeform (primarily) - anything dnd related would be for terminology / culture reasons only

ShadowFox89

It would be easiest to do free-form. Using D&D for this would be way too complicated.

I actually woke up this morning, thinking of another plot and came up with one involving dragon riders haha. I was just about to post it when I saw this thread~ I'd still like to go on with my idea, if people were interested, but I thought I'd offer it here first

Kate

sairin happy for you to be the storyteller if you want to ! :)

If you have an idea - lets hear it !

alright haha~ I'ma make up a profile real quick and attach it to the story

ShadowFox89

You can play a dragon, right? That was the original idea of this thread- one player as the rider the other as the dragon :)

If it tickled your fancy, I don't see why not. Can we leave that to the players to decide, however? I, personally, would like to control my character and her dragon if this doesn't bother you~

ShadowFox89

I don't think I'll have much interest in this :/

I'll go create another thread, sorry.

No, keep yours~ I'll remove mine and post my own thread. I just said I had a dragon riding plot in mind haha and didn't want to over-ride yours so I thought I'd offer~

I personally find the idea of separate rider and dragon more compelling. Not for the dragon-porn (the logistics are quite soaring on that part) but on the interactive level. To have two so different creature share a bond of such an unorthodox kind, fearing the moment when the rider and dragon realize that their mindsets are so different that they will never be able to understand each other and share the love that they feel. Not to mention the drama when another rider or dragon is starting to share fancy with your dragon/rider. That is what I like about this idea and I don't think it will be as good with the two controlled by the same player.

ShadowFox89

Pretty much my feelings exactly (and the dragon-porn can be mitigated with shapechanging). You lose some of the interaction possibilities from having someone control both dragon and rider.

And, strictly speaking, those aren't dragons that Sairin described ;)

Wingless dragons are called drakes, dragons who's wings replace their forearms are called wyverns, while true dragons can be anything from the western style (like the iconic red dragon of D&D) to eastern serpent like dragons that can sometimes have 6+ legs (it varies depending on where in east asia you go to)
