Midtones implies that there may be a bit of unnecessary roughness, but nothing blatantly non-consensual.  Sex with aliens is, however, quite permissible (and qualifies as a very real risk on this island).  ;D

They aren't point-type characters.  It's a bit looser than that...and the one page summary actually doesn't do it justice.

Short version: All PCs start with a Central Trait (like an occupation, or a 'class' if you like), two Side Traits (narrower attributes or skills) and a Flaw (Ye Olde Disad).  Dice pools are generally going to be either three or four dice for traits you have, and two dice for everything else that doesn't take specialized training.  That's all there is to it.  Everything else is just details.

Something I should ask: all PCs have secrets.  Do you guys want to keep your game stats and other information secret, or more or less open and trust that the others will act appropriately surprised?  ;)  In THIS game, that's a really important question.

But I'm glad everyone else is perfectly aware of exactly what they're consenting to before it even begins, and knows exactly how to make sure others know they really do know.  Just so.  Otherwise, they might be guilty of something unspeakable happening to their all so bodily selves.  Heh.  ;)

Having said that, I might just be weird enough to make a character -- even if it never gets in enough trouble for my liking.  But I'll probably wait and see what pops up on the board for a while before I decide.

Love the setting, though, generally.

The baseline assumption on Al Amarja is that you are consenting and at least legally an adult.  This is because if your partner isn't consenting, you'll be very lucky if the first people to catch you are the Peace Force!  Police have to follow the rules.  (The Satanists, Dog Faces, Aries Gang, Drogues, and various other 'benevolent neighborhood protective associations' don't and won't.  ;) )  So just because there's nothing NC in context doesn't mean there's nothing rough.
