• I may or may not accept canon characters for this. If I don't, please don't be discouraged. I may change my mind.
• This RP probably won't follow any of the games, or the movies. So don't expect to have everything figured out.
• This game may or may not be freeform, depending how how interested parties want to play it.

I'm not a big fan of canon characters (though I'd be okay with seeing Pyramid Head walking about and the like, but wouldn't want to see others.  Then again, I wouldn't consider Pyramid Head to be a character so much as a force of nature in many respects.)

That said, expressing interest.

I'm throwing in my interest as well, though I wouldn't want to see any of the cannon characters either. I don't want Pyramid Head because I feel he's too specific to James's story, and it bugs me whenever he shows up outside of that story.

As for a system or freeform, I don't have much experience using a system in forum based roleplaying, so while I'd be interested either way, I say free form.

But I'm gonna keep an eye on this, because I'd love to be in it!

Is there any chance of them overcoming these things or will they be stuck facing these horrors for the rest of their lives. Will the characters be called to the town or drawn to it at all? Don't worry about it. I want people to ask questions. :) There are a few ways it can be played out:
1 - The characters can manage to overcome their fears and be able to leave the town without the guilt they had before
2 - The characters manage to overcome their fears, but CANNOT leave the town because of one reason or another (They were tricked, they still feel guilty, etc.)
3 - The character doesn't overcome their fears and spends the rest of their life running away from it
4 - The character becomes so guilt stricken about their fears that it drives them to commit suicide, therefore they are forever stuck in the town and don't even realize they are dead

The way the characters end up in the town can vary. They could hear the town is haunted and want to see for themselves so they end up stuck there, etc. The town has its way of pulling people in that it sees as guilty of something. I don't know if you watch Supernatural at all, but it's like the "Bloody Mary" episode. The town sees you have a dark secret (not necessarily involving death) and decides you need to be punished in some way. So in this RP, expect your characters to get roughed up quite a bit.

I like the sound of it a lot and I don't mind my character(s) getting roughed up a bit I love Action and Horror based RPs so I'm used to stuff like that  :-)

I'd say nothing under 18, as per site rules. Max age? I'm not sure. I don't want any elderly people as they probably wouldn't last too long... I'd say no older than 40 or 45. That sounds reasonable. With professions, I don't mind what your character's job is. As long as it's nothing too extreme or outlandish/unreasonable/unrealistic.

I have some interest in Silent hill, if there is still room for one more.

Not going to lie.  Huge silent Hill fan here.  Being playing it since it first came out, and if I haven't played and own the game, i've watched the walkthrough on youtube (cause I do love the stories).  Deffinitly consider me interested.

On a side note, one could argue that Silent Hill isn't so much about punishment, but as allowing people the chance for redemption.

I'm interested in seeing where this idea goes.
