New Earth 2047


It was the year of 2047 and the world had evolved enough for its first interspace travel. Zeus flight 692 was sent off from Earth for a first tour ever of the planets. It was to be a journey of unknown time and distance. Those who were invited were hand selected by a group of intellectuals and doctors who found the candidates worthy to make such a trek. They were to be a big part of human history and the first in the world as they know it to venture that far out into the cosmos.

No one had expected what happened next. There were malfunctions, the spacecraft encountered more trouble than was bargained for and it ends up crashing onto an unknown moon/planet that somehow is very much like Earth in atmosphere and plant life. The small two person crew on board ventured out to discover that this planet was very terran like and easily adaptable as a new Earth. It was an extraordinary scientific find and the possibilities were endless. This group of individuals had to figure out a way to communicate back to earth, repair their ship,  and find fuel for the ship, or just come to terms with this being their new Earth.

They had no idea what lay ahead. There could be different critters of deadly size and shape. They could be aggressive or pack oriented. Then again they could be their only source of food as well.  The plant life  had similiar qualities to that of earth but was there more to them? Was it left to chance that some of them may be intelligent enough to fight back the human that threatened their home?

Then there were the passengers. They had been on this journey for about three months now, but they still did not know each other well enough to know just who to trust and who to stay clear of. Maybe one or two of your fellow passengers have shady pasts and aren't to be trusted. Anything could happen.

If this is the future, This is the new Earth. What happens now is up to you.

Okay... so now that I have mostly fixed all those horrendous typos and such!  :-[   I am working on my sheet. :)   If anyone has ideas to put forth as far as encounters and such please feel free to add any ideas in here. :)  After we get our characters and such sorted we can open up an In Character thread to start posting! Yay!

Basically what you do is you click on the link that says select then copy and paste it to a reply field or to a wordpad which ever you are more comfortable with. From there you just fill it out according to your characters specifications.

I'll post what I have finished of mine up so far and you can see what it will look like. Keep in mind it won't be completed yet. :)

They are non-existent.  Also, we're coming off of Earth, so having a foreign-planet type doesn't really fit.  I've never seen Firefly, so perhaps how would character be if they were born on Earth instead?

Personality: Often, Nadine is referred to as bipolar (and maybe she is, who knows.) One moment, she is happy-go-lucky with a new species to study, and the next, she is straight-forward with little to say save for the facts. She has ample room for patience, though is more often than not perturbed by women (And men) who can't get their hands dirty. She's known to place them in odd and trying circumstances just to see how far they will go without giving up their pristine ways. Rather relaxed as far as dress and hygiene go, she'd much rather be in jeans and a T-shirt than a business suit.

History: Nadine had been hired by NASA several years ago, and had served on their board of research for three consecutive years before the ideas of fellow researchers and herself led to the start of this new project. When it came time to execute, she jumped at the opportunity; drawing straws for the position. Her's won. Elated, she packed her bags and equipment, and waited impatiently for the day to arrive.  Aside from this; travel back in time five years to her divorce. Her husband of only six months had been caught in their own bed with his secretary. His excuse? "You weren't supposed to come home this early!". Jumpstart to now, Nadine is rather bitter and outwardly skeptical of men in general, though inwardly she's beginning to turn the bend of wanting the affection again.

so it has been a long time since i have written poetry, but since joining this site i've been writing more and i'm super excited. Point is i just wrote a cute poem for someone based on "you are a frog looking to be kissed by a princess" and i came up with this, i thought i would share :D

i once was a frog from far away
looking for love in only one way
true, that i me see myself
once again be tall like an elf

across the land i looked to find
someone, a lady, gentle and kind
that would free me from this awful curse
i would travel across the entire 'verse

when one day what's this is see
siting by a pond with a big tree
a beautiful lady, kind and fair
pale, and soft, with flowing yellow hair

could she be the one for me?
the one who could set me free?
i gathered my courage to see what i could do
to win from this maiden, a kiss or two

so up to her i went and hopped
to sit beside where she had stopped
and was thinking of ways to not be alarming
when behold, up rides a tall prince charming

so i turned to go, so awful sad
but that's when this story goes bad
for the prince caught me while my back was turned
and i knew that i should have been concern

for all of my wishes and dreams
were torn apart like sand in streams
for no matter how much i looked and looked
in the end i was soup, i had been cooked
