Well, essentially I was thinking of an original superheroes thing after staying at home and reading my brother's old comic books. :-) I'm hoping for a couple of villains and a couple of heroes at the least, but depending on what we get  I can see what I can do. I liked the idea of a more gritty and... well... more adult comic book. If I make any errors (since I'm not massively into the meta human/comic book genre) please point them out. Well, without further ado...

New Kingdom. Power runs like blood along the streets of this city... as with any major city now... it has it's heroes and villains. Some are clear cut, others more complicated... convoluted... even twisted. This city stands over the worlds only Bannonite deposit, a strange ore with unique properties of mutation. It is this ore that began the process that created these heroes and villains. Now, they still battle over the heights of the city, a city as much about decadence as freedom, where ANYTHING is legal if you have the money, and anything is possible if your mind is twisted enough and your wallet deep enough. welcome to the playground of heroes and villains... welcome to the home of opulence... I hope you have a big wallet... and an ability to smile when you stab people in the back. Welcome... to New Kingdom.

Thanks all, any questions, don;t hesitate to ask, I'm an approachable girl, really. :)

Just a query about the game...

You say a more 'Adult' comic book, so I feel the need to ask.

How adult?

I've been in a game or two where it just goes over the top, and completely off topic sexually, and I've had to leave. So, are there any limits on the sexual content of it? I Mean, obviously there will be some things sexual in the roleplay, but is there a limit?

Xanthaine

There's no real 'limit' so far as the sexual content is concerned, Just, use discretion over what constitutes unnecessary plot avoidance, so sex will be permissible so long as it does not distract from overall plot, as I myself hate when a fair plot goes AWOL in favour of humping like rabbits on Viagra.

Xanthaine

And here's my character sheet. Yaaay! I was bored so I decided to whack it out in the interim. :)

Name: Kathryn 'Kate' Marek

Hero/Villain name: Hellbrand

Gender: Female

Faction: Hero

Age: 26

Power: Fire creation and manipulation, minor temperature control.

Appearance: In Costume:

Alter Ego:

Bio: Kate was born in New Kingdom, and before she was exposed to Bannonite she was a thief. Perhaps not the best... but she lived. She lives still in 1123b Copperhead Row. She gained her powers when she broke into a museum to steal a gem, reportedly worth a great deal of money. Unfortunately it had been replaced with a Bannonite replica for the night, she slipped it down her cleavage as she made her escape, this exposure allowing her control over the destructive element of fire.

Soon after this she expanded her repertoire to bank robbery under her new identity of Hellbrand, becoming a more small time economic Villain, independent and privatised. She committed the first major superpowered heist of the New Kingdom International Bank, coming away with billions of dollars worth of cash and safe deposit box items. She rose to third place on the New Kingdom's 10 most wanted and held second on the most wanted supers for just over a year.

As the net around her began to close in she favoured neutrality, she slowly dropped down the list of most wanted thanks to her supposed inactivity. Eventually, during the only large scale fight between Heroes and Villains to date, she chose the Heroic side. Since she has been defined as a heroine with loose morals and very little respect for the law. While she may have evolved as a person her powers have given her a heady idea of fire, her mania getting away from her in situations where she uses a great deal of fire.

Personality: She is feisty and hard to tame, just like the fire she can command. She is a pyromaniac with serious rage issues. She is very loyal, but more under terms of 'honour among thieves' than general moral codes. She is a deceiver who often has an ulterior motive. She is easy to trust, and pretends to offer her allegience easily... but unless you are in her inner circle... she'd drop you like a lead balloon when she no longer needs you.

Ons: Rough sex, anal.

Offs: weak people

Blobbe

I'm certainly interested, and I have been looking for original a supehero RP for some time. However, before I commit myself to this, I'd like to know what section and what 'content level' this game will be under. After making this mistake before, I'm rather cautios and I don't want to put effort into creatign a character that I'm not going to want to play.

Thanks

Xanthaine

Nothing too extreme, no non con or anything of the like, any sex will have to be fairly standard consensual. :-)

TheHangedOne

Hmmm, I'm definitely interested in this. Working on an anti-hero/anti-villain concept. By the way, Xanth, did you find or make that picture? If you made it, did you use any sort of online tool or anything?

Name: Randolph Carter
Hero/Villain name: Judge
Gender: Male
Faction: Nominally 'Hero'.
Age: 23
Power: Appears to be functioning at the peak of human physical power; whether this stems from a well planned, itnense training regimen or from mutation, however, is unknown. Perhaps it is a bit of both.

Bio: Randolph has always been captivated by strange things ever since he was young. Preferring the company of books to people, Randolph was always a bright lad with a complex world view, even from a young age.

Of course, being a book worm made him a target for bullies, and his young life  is, to him, little more than a montage of abuse he suffered at the hands of his so called peers. While many would think this would ultimately result in a villain that lashed out against a world he felt wronged him, it is not so.

Rather, Randolph is more akin to an anti-hero or anti-villain. Most people that know of his crime fighting alter-ego are left in the awkward position of not knowing whether he's a villain or a hero...in actuality, he is really a bit of both. He targets criminals and the scum of society, but the amount of pain and terror he inflicts upon them is often obscene.

In high school, Randolph began a fitness training regimen in order to become stronger and tougher, as he realized that their were no heroes to protect him from those bullies who made his life hell. He'd have to keep himself safe.

He currently works at a gym teaching Eskrima, a martial art he has studied from the time he was 16 to when he was 20. The past 3 years have been training others in it, which maintains his current level of skill.

Personality: Taciturn, surly, cynical, and pessimistic.  Generally not considered good company. Can force himself to be friendly for his job. Encourages his students to use their power for good and to follow codes of conduct.

Ons: Strong women, light bondage, gentle femdom.
Offs: Gore, vore, scat.

Oh, Kate will have fun trying to manipulate him. :-) Just a couple more people would be good and we can start. Yaay! :D

Muse

Xanthine, do powers have to be so terribly simple?  One of my favorite concepts for a long time has been a timid and repressed comic book artist who writes about strong, uninhibited heroines.  Whenever she sees trouble, she has to unleash one of these heroines, but she doesn't know which one will come out and once they're out, she remains that heroine 'til dawn.

Also, how fast do you hope for this game to move?

Xanthaine

That is a really good idea, Muse. :-) I like the sound of it, and what do you mean by how fast? I was thinking some character establishment and getting to know each other before I launch into the main story.

Odin

I Will be posting a character at some point, by the way!

Also, Muse... Your idea reminds me of Ben10, the child's cartoon.

Xanthaine

Great, could do with some villains if anyone out there is up for that. :-)

*smiles*  I'm glad you like her, Xanthaine.

What I mean about time is, how fast do you want the game to move?

Odin, I also understand Marvel had a title called Dial H for Hero with a similar trick.

Xanthaine

Not too fast, I don;t want to rush things. :-)

Blobbe

Hmm... I'm having a couple of ideas here. I was thinking that, to fill up numbers, I could throw in a pair of characters; one hero, one villain. Thoughts? Or, if that's too much, I can just cut it back to just the one character.

TheHangedMan, re the Judge: He strikes as the type who has no real powers per se, but is more of a "Badarse normal"; incredibly tough, relisilant, agile and well-trained, able to fight superhumans on their own level. Think Batman or the Punisher here.

Xanthaine

You can have two, but please colour code them and make sure you are up to it, I wouldn't want you to feel pressured or anything. :-)

Name: Karen Blackwell

Villain name: Red

Gender: Female

Faction: Villain

Age: 17

Power:
Type: Proportional Size/Strength Growth
Trigger: Emotion
Effects:
Whether it's anger, excitement, or any other form of elation or anxiety, Karen Blackwell feels the effect more than most. As her emotions grow, so too does her body. She begins to feel stronger, taller, even curvier as her hair takes on an angry red tint and her eyes a crimson glow.
Weaknesses:
If she allows her emotions to run out of control then it won't be long before her powers begin to follow suit. She also begins to move slower the larger/stronger she becomes.
Notes:
- Her outfit was specially made for her, to stretch to almost any size.
- Even while in her normal form she still retains a touch of inhuman strength since she can never completely block out her emotions.

Bio:
Born to a line whose name was synonymous with success, Karen Blackwell was barely out of the womb when the young toddler found herself with a burden to shoulder; that of a family's expectations. As a member of the Blackwell family, Karen was simply not allowed to lose, even if the name of the game was "fun". And if she ever did fail her father would always be swift in handing out the "necessary" punishments. This stress-filled life led the teen to rebel earlier than most, with her acts of defiance beginning small but quick to grow in both risk and impact.

The incident which changed her life occurred during a class tour of a Blackwell facility. The class was being shown the advances Blackwell had made in medicine when Karen noted to a few of her friends that medicine barely scratched the surface of the facilities true purpose. Intrigued by what Karen had said, her friends pressured her into showing them around and so they quietly snuck away from the tour group. What the teens didn't know however is that the lower levels had been secretly evacuated due to a chemical leak, one Karen exposed all of them to when she used her override code on the door. As soon as the security doors opened, everything went dark for the teens...

They all awoke later in the day only to find themselves in a hospital, with everything seemingly under control until Karen opened her eyes. The instant the young Blackwell was up she fell into a panic, unsure of where she was and terrified at the prospect that she may have somehow hurt one of her friends. The hospital staff tried to hold her down but she easily tossed them aside, her newfound strength only freaking her out more as her eyes took on an ominous, red, glow and her body gradually filled out.

Before she could completely transform however a brave doctor quickly injected her with a tranquilizer.

The next time she opened her eyes, she instantly wished she was back in the hospital as she was greeted by the familiar ceilings, walls and lab equipment of Blackwell industries. For almost a year she had to live in the small lab, with her father's stern voice the only thing which kept her in check. During her stay she was taught better self control, made a special suit which would materialize whenever she lost control, and given more attention (without the anger) than ever before by her father. With the good came the bad however and beside being cooped up and subjected to horrific tests, Karen soon stumbled on a conversation between her dad and another scientist, one where they talked as if she were nothing but another of Blackwell's pet projects rather than a daughter.

The realization caused a spark to be set off inside the volatile teen and, before she knew it, she'd blacked out again. When she finally regained conscious she was bathed in the light of a roaring fire as the Blackwell lab burnt to the ground.

Karen Blackwell left everything behind that day, choosing to move far away and start over. She currently lives in New Kingdom as both a student of one of its schools and as the villainess "Red", paying for her apartment and tuition through crimes such as robberies, ransoming, etc.

Personality:
She's exceptionally confident, to the point of arrogance, but behind the pride lurks a mind which never underestimates her opponents. She's also generally quite calm, even if her manner at times borders on flippancy; a state of mind she was forced to adopt to maintain control of her powers.

Ons:
At this time Karen's more interested in exploring her powers than her sexual appetites. In general though, she's fairly open minded.

Offs:
As long as it doesn't have anything to do with excrement, extreme pain, or similar, then she doesn't mind.

Tom

Name: Cyron Goode

Hero/Villain name: Cyron Goode

Gender: Male

Faction: Villain

Age: Fourtyish

Power: Mastermind

Appearance: Cyron is tall and handsome with broad shoulders and a powerful frame. Dark hair, pretty green eyes and his attractive face makes him a very untraditional master villain. He dresses well in designer suits or sports wear, altough he retains an air of science and academics by often using a lab coat as well.

Bio: Cyron rose to power through a massive multinational coorporation, Naemocom. Recruited early to science and research on account of his academic achievments, Cyron explored weapons development. He took over most of the organization in an elaborate coup just a few years before and now surrounds himself with secret labs, powerful bodyguards/assassins and technology. His childhood is a bit of mystery, but there are rumors that he was raised in an old-fashioned way by nuns in a catholic orphanage.

Personality: Cyron is much like a military commander. He expects his orders to be followed. On the other hand, he is not a comic-book villain. He is open to suggestions from his subordinates. Of course, he doesn't see himself as a villain; more like a person who knows what has to be done to get the world-order he believes to be right.

Ons: Bisexual, dominant.

Offs: None in particular.

Xanthaine

We have two heroes and two villains, that should be enough to start with, right? If anyone's still interested or on the fence we are still recruiting. :-)

Works for me, and he was partly inspired by Rorschach from The Watchmen.  :-) Judge is  just a little less insane.

I saw this and was interested, because I was planning on starting my own heroes game, though I was going to try to implement a dice system. That's still in the works, so I was debating whether to get my feet wet in this game, maybe see what I'm in for. I have a variety of characters in mind, ranging from a fire-based villainess (though we have a fire-based character) to something more along the lines of Spiderwoman with a bondage fetish.

TheHangedOne

Made some minor cosmetic and text changes to my posted profile. I hope that the changes I made are alright.

Well, as a spider, I'd assume she's the one who's laying the webs.
