I am a Rowan Tree :) I found this to actually be cool so decided to share it. :)

Find your birthday and then find your tree. This is really cool and somewhat accurate, also in line with Celtic astrology. Send it to all your friends, so they can find out what tree they fell from, but don't forget to change the subject line to your tree.

Damn...that is freakishly accurate, at least in my case.
Straight male.  As long as its within the rules of the forum, and doesn't involve fire, I'll try it once.

Tsumibito Seija

Damn sept 28th hazelnut tree! That concludes that I am nuts lol. Almost right, except for the part about being popular, or perfectionism. But quite flattering none the less.

Lyria

Cypress Tree, fits me pretty well.  My husbands is completely off, but his horoscopes always are. ;)

I love this kind of stuff. Not to suggest that I take it too seriously, but... I love it. It's fun. :)

That said... well, I'm actually pretty open-minded (or maybe I should say I consider myself actually pretty open-minded) when it comes to paranormal phenomena (if you will), but it seems to me these entries derive a lot of their impact from the Forer effect. I mean, look at my entry, the fig tree:

Fig Tree (Sensibility) -- very strong minded, a bit self-willed, honest, loyal, independent, hates contradiction or arguments, hard worker when wants to be, loves life and friends, enjoys children and animals, few sexual relationships, great sense of humor, has artistic talent and great intelligence.

And now let's take it apart:

Fig Tree - 'Nuff said.

Sensibility - I won't try to say everybody claims to be sensible, but a lot of people think they are.

very strong minded - A lot of people think they're strong minded... they translate it as "independent," "not weak."

a bit self-willed - Similar to "very strong minded."

honest - People generally like to think of themselves as honest. If they lie, it's usually "for a good reason."

loyal - People also generally like to think of themselves as loyal.

independent - Fits in with "very strong minded" and "a bit self-willed."

hates contradiction or arguments - This is a strange one; I find it odd that it was included, because few people like to think bad things about themselves (and hating something as simple as contradiction could be construed as bad). Maybe it's... *gasp*... accurate? I don't know whether or not it applies to me myself; as usual, it can be hard to "step outside" and judge. Oh, well... gnoti sauvon, gnoti sauvon...

hard worker when wants to be - Who doesn't think that? "I could do it... I just don't want to."

loves life and friends - There are some people who don't love life, but I think they're probably in the minority. And who can say they don't love their friends?

enjoys children and animals - This is a dangerous one if (if) the person who wrote this was trying to invoke Forer statements. A lot of people don't enjoy [the company of] children and animals. That said, I myself don't have a problem with children on the whole (depends on the kid) and I love animals, so it applies to me well enough.

few sexual relationships - :-[ No comment. No damn comment!

great sense of humor - A lot of people like to think they're funny.

has artistic talent - A lot of people like to think they have some form of artistic talent.

[has] great intelligence - I think it's safe to say a lot of people like to believe they're intelligent.

Actually, I'm kind of interested: how many people out there found their particular tree didn't fit? Or did anybody find they fit most other trees, too?

Wait a second... can they make fig cookies? :o

PS: I don't really have anywhere else to put this, so... This morning, when I was walking outside through my horrible little apartment complex, I found... some chocolate chip cookies on the grass! Who knows why they were there?!

Well except for the handles stress well, talented, unselfish - it fits which is quite creepy - although - I fall right on the edge so that might explain the missing bits.

Without mentioning any names (duh), I'll say that years ago I knew an intelligent, knowledgeable man with a great deal of self-principle. He knew a tremendous amount about music and movies and other elements of popular culture, and so he and I had a number of conversations about them. He also happened to be a staunch Republican, so when the Lewinsky scandal broke he made sure to talk at length about it to me and practically everybody else around. He said pretty much what I expected him to say, except one thing...

"But have you seen her? She was worth it!"

In fact, that's pretty much the last thing I would've expected him to say. Or most anybody else, actually. I mean, if there was a sweet dorky girl who looked like Monica Lewinsky, I'd consider going out with her; that said, I'd do so because she was sweet and dorky, not because of any inherent physical beauty.

By the way, yesterday somebody presented me with... chocolate chip cookies! :o I don't remember the last time I ate chocolate chip cookies before yesterday. This is getting weird... :o

Olive Tree (Wisdom) -- loves sun, warmth and kind feelings, reasonable, balanced, avoids aggression and violence, tolerant, cheerful, calm, well-developed sense of justice, sensitive, empathetic, free of jealousy, loves to read and the company of sophisticated people.

"loves sun, warmth, and kind feelings": who doesn't?
"reasonable": who doesn't think of themselves as basically reasonable?
"balanced": similar to reasonable
"avoids aggression and violence": most people don't go around picking fights
"tolerant": other than people like the KKK, who doesn't think of themselves as basically tolerant?
"cheerful": again, other than depressives, who doesn't think of themselves as cheerful?
"calm": similar to reasonable
"well-developed sense of justice": again, similar to reasonable
"sensitive": most people like to think they are sensative towards other people's feelings
"empathetic": similar to sensative
"free of jealousy": most people don't think of themselves in a negative light, which admitting to being jealous almost requires.
"loves to read and the company of sophisticated people" this is probably the most dangerous statement here, given the number of functional illiterates and the number of steriotypically crude white-collar workers.

As for how well, it applies to me, well, I fit the first 8 pretty well. I possess a mental disability that has "lack of social or emotional reciprocity" (i.e. lack of empathy) as one of its diagnostic criteria, and I am a bit jealous of the normal folks who are in sexual relationships (lucky bastards...). I do like to read, and I do hang out with sophisticated people in RL.

A good portion of that is actually accurate.
