Songbird's Non-Adult Roleplay Requests (F seeking M)

Hello everyone! :D My name is Songbird, and I am very interested in starting one or more Non-Adult roleplays while I wait for the chance to reapply. I am mostly interested in Adult roleplays, and hopefully, if I'm accepted, the following story ideas can become Adult roleplays by asking the moderators to move them to the adult section. There's no guarantee that I'll be approved, but I'm optimistic! :-)

Here is just a small sampling of some of the ideas I have buzzing in my head. As I do not yet have to ability to respond to PMs, please post in this thread if you are interested, or if you have an idea you think I'd like. :-)

(1) [D&D or High Fantasy Setting] A powerful vampire, while fleeing from his enemies, finds himself in the village of Idlebrook, a popular stop for adventurers on their way to the great city of Sephris. Accidentally caught out in the sun, he is barely saved from certain death by a beautiful village girl who wraps him in a heavy cloak and leads him to the safety of her home. She, a healer, assumes that he is merely a human who is susceptible to sunstroke, and he goes along with it, pretending to be a passing adventurer. She is kind, generous, and cheerful, allowing him to stay with her until nightfall, and giving him a special cream to protect him from the sun’s rays. In spite of himself, the vampire is intrigued by this innocent beauty and resists the urge to feed on her, finding another victim once he has left her home. He decides to remain in Idlebrook for a time, knowing that a pale-skinned man who rarely eats won’t attract much notice in a town where all manner of exotic humanoids have been known to pass through. Unable to forget the girl who helped him, he watches her from afar, trying to learn everything he can about her from observation and talkative village folk. He learns that while she is well-liked and a talented healer, she is also very poor, and was forced to take a loan from the local moneylender to pay for her grandmother’s funeral. This debt has weighed heavily upon her, and the moneylender’s son has begun to press his unwanted attentions upon her. The vampire begins to arrange “accidental” meetings with her, spending time with her until they are close friends. Whenever she is forced to pawn something to pay her debt, he buys it back and leaves it on her doorstep as an anonymous gift. As they grow closer, the vampire becomes more and more protective of her, maiming and perhaps even killing any men who harass or frighten her. At last they become lovers, the girl trusting him completely and never suspecting that he is responsible for the string of murders which has recently plagued the town. As more blood-drained bodies are found, the townspeople are desperate to discover the culprit, and it becomes harder for the vampire to conceal who and what he really is. Will he be discovered? Will his enemies succeed in hunting him down? Can he protect his love from danger, and most important, could she still love him after finding out what he truly is?

(2) [Dungeons & Dragons Setting] The story of two adventurers, how they find each other, and of all the dangers they encounter along the way. Over time, they inevitably develop romantic feelings for each other.

(3) [Modern/Romance Setting] Two shy, slightly nerdy people find each other, and begin a gentle, normal dating relationship. They share many of the same interests, and over time their feelings for each other blossom.

Oh! I should add that I prefer co-authors who can create well-written posts of at least a few paragraphs in length. I love lots of detail and good grammar, and it would be wonderful if I could find writing partners who share this trait. :-)

Hi Eshaar! :D Yes, I left the second idea less fleshed out to give it more flexibility, depending on my co-author's tastes. :-)

I'd be willing to go with your two traveling bards, providing they are different enough to contrast. Perhaps they originally dislike each other, competing for their audience's attention and exasperated when they find themselves thrown together again and again. Of course, over time they begin to rely on each other, their relationship eventually becoming one of love (and naughtiness if we're lucky!).

As for setting, I think I would prefer a "classic" D&D setting, something like Greyhawk, but with original locations as I am not terribly familiar with the exact geography of the Greyhawk setting. I'd like to keep the original Pantheon (Pelor, Hextor, Nerull, etc.), but just about everything else is flexible.

I need to sleep on it to come up with my bard's description, but I can guarantee a few things: She is Neutral Good, worships Pelor, plays the lute, and fights with a rapier. I'll come up with a fuller description tomorrow. :-)

I'm so glad you're a long and descriptive writer! :D I think we'll get along marvelously! ;D

He would be an Elf I think but one raise amongst humanity hence his less than usual religious leaning. As for weaponry he would use composite long bow & the long sword a slightly curved elven blad. Certainly would wear a fine mythral shain shirt and would have a a small rident of some sort as a familiar.

I would see him as a free spirit certainly with Chaotic Neutral leanings and a live and let live attitude. I like the idea that they are at first rivals who end up thrown together very appealing. Perhaps we could start in some smaller town perhaps in our way to a festival in a larger city. A nice way to have them as rivals might be for this festival to include a bardic competition? A couple of lead up towns coudl have some minor competitions n which the compete, as they travel in the same direction towards the same city they compete night after night in the locat taverns where their fortunes wain, eond night you have a better take the other I do & so on, bringing about a competative aspect to them struggle to be better all the time. That is just a thought but one that I thinkwe cudl work with & coudl grow as we go & leaves plenty of room for other side adventures.

I would certainly like to see this as far less structured then a normal D&D game with the setting & character structures used merely to facilitate good role playing, light on combat that only there to enhance the story & heavy on role playing and other actions. We should certainly crafte the world and lead the adventures collectively with the first one into a room or areal describing the setting for that seen etc.

I accept your challenge fair maiden!  Falstaff, started as a paladin as I mentioned before.  So was LG.  As he evolved and became who is truly was, theson of Heironeous...he fleshed in to a Neutral Good align.  He believed he had to do whatever it took to always promote Good.  Sometimes that meant he had to break the rules.

I will do any adventure you want just to write with you Birdy.  If you want me to join you, please just let me know.

I have played the Greyhawk setting for so long, I know it very, very well.  I have played just about every race and class known and also every alignment.  I prefer to be a good aligned character, as I truly don't like being evil...treating others ill was not in my upbringing.

I had a bard named Cor'Ala (1/2 Drow, 1/2 Human) his name was Drow for Legendary Harmonizer.  He is a fascinating character, real arrogant and cocky, but always working behind the scenes to help good...also NG align.  I would love to share more of him with you sometime.

Hi Eshaar! :D I love all of your ideas so far! :-) I like the thought of them traveling to the same festival, each hoping to win the bardic competition there. Since they are traveling to the same destination, they always find themselves thrown together and annoy each other thoroughly. Of course, they encounter plenty of adventures along the way, forcing them to grudgingly rely on each other.

I agree. In online roleplaying, one shouldn't be limited by the usual mechanics of the game. No dice rolling, no checking for initiative, just wonderful written adventures. Again, I'm glad you love description and detail! :D

Here is a bit more about my bard:

Eris Asher is a twenty-two year old human bard with pale skin, emerald green eyes, and long red hair held back in a loose braid. She is beautiful to behold, with delicate features and a slightly upturned nose which gives her an almost elfin look. Her figure is busty and curvaceous, and her attempts to dress modestly only seem to draw more attention to this fact. Though she shows very little skin, her clothing is fashionable and snug, consisting of purple cloth and brown leather armor. Over this she usually dons a wool cloak of bright blue. Besides her adventuring equipment, Eris carries a dagger, a rapier, a wooden holy symbol of Pelor, and her masterwork lute decorated with a sunburst design. The latter is something of a trademark of hers. Besides playing her lute, she also works her magic through singing, and her voice is said to be as sweet and golden as honey. Though most of her songs are in Common, she has also taught herself Elvish so she can perform popular Elvish ballads.

Eris is a bright and cheerful young woman, full of energy and optimism. Her cheerful nature is often catching, and she can lighten the mood of all but the most depressed audience. Her charisma is powerful, and though she is devoted to the cause of good, she has occasionally used her charming nature to manipulate others into granting her better deals on goods and services, as well as giving her valuable information. For example, she might convince an Innkeeper to give her a discount on lodging, but would never talk him into giving her a room for free, as he needs to make a living. For the most part she gets by with her musical talent alone, playing in taverns and other public gathering places, though she does enjoy adventuring for its monetary gains as well as doing some good. As a devoted worshiper of Pelor, she gives a portion of what she makes to his temples. She also frequently gives money to any poor and needy people she meets, her heart moved to help them in any way she can. Though she has a healthy sense of self-preservation, she is willing to take great risks to save an innocent from harm.

In combat, Eris is quick and agile, but not especially strong. When with a party of capable fighters, she is content to remain in the background, boosting them with her music and spells. Otherwise she uses either her dagger or rapier to defend herself and others, as well as utilizing any other objects that are nearby. For example, if she were in a library, she might grab a heavy tome and clunk a thug over the head with it. If in a kitchen, she might use a frying pan as a weapon, or simply throw a pie into an opponent's face. When facing particularly strong, but not particularly bright opponents, she might simply misdirect them with a ruse and escape. Eris would rather negotiate a peaceful truce than jump into melee, but she is not afraid to do so. She dislikes killing and tries to turn over any criminals to the authorities, but she will kill in defense of herself, others, or to avenge a particularly evil act.

Eris is the eldest of a large family consisting of her parents and seven younger siblings, all of whom share her emerald green eyes. They are a happy family, devoted to each other and to the worship of Pelor. Eris is devoted to them, sending some of the gold she makes back to them for their benefit. She knows nothing of her grandparents or any extended family, and when asked her parents simply say that they have none and refuse to speak any further on the subject. This does not trouble Eris particularly, though she occasionally wishes she knew more of her ancestry. Little does she know that the truth is very dark indeed.

Eris is generally friendly to everyone she meets, unless they give her a reason to dislike them. This does not mean that she trusts everyone, but she is willing to give others the benefit of the doubt and let them prove themselves. One particular prejudice she has is against Halflings, as she has been robbed or almost robbed by one more than once. She will not make overt signs of this prejudice when a Halfling is present, but she will keep and eye on him and a hand on her purse.

Whew! That's all I can think of for now! ;D I hope it's not too much for you to swallow. Is there any details as far as setting or anything else that we should iron out before we get started? I'm willing to write the first post when we're ready. :-)

Is there any particular idea or scenario you have in mind? I would love to write with any character you can come up with! :-) Besides a bard, I also enjoy being a cleric, so I'm willing to be one or the other depending on what the story requires. A Greyhawk, or Greyhawk-like setting would be lovely! :D

Once we've fleshed out the background and plot a bit more, I'll whip up a character for myself. Eris Asher is currently engaged, but In D&D there's no shortage of creative possibilities! ;D

But, here we have to go PG13, hugs, kisses and not much more than that.  Remember, anything else will be a fade to black, or drop the curtain scene.  Like, they hold hands walking in to the bedroom and close the door.  Then start the next scene... ;)

I have a lot of characters at my disposal, and would like to use one you would like to get to know.  So if you are approved, we may move it over to the adult section and continue growing their relationship.

I can adjust to your needs and wants...so what do you want to play, as far as a character.  Then I can come up with my own and maybe a scenario to have them meet.  Or we can go with one of your options.

Oh, okay. :-) I'd rather discuss it here if you wouldn't mind. The Doormat is mostly for chatting, and I don't want to clog it up with our planning.

Oh, you mean my "Warrior so pleases Thor that he sends a Valkyrie to aid him during his travels" idea? ;) I do still want to write that, but I think I'd have a hard time keeping it clean since I imagine the valkyrie being a barely-clothed, eager to please *hint, hint* creature, and Norse men were not ones to hold back their lusts. The "fade to black" method just doesn't satisfy me. :-( If characters are going to be intimate for the first time, I want to know every single detail. Kissing and hugging are alright, but we'd have to keep it from getting out of control.

I do have one idea that I think you might like, and that we could keep clean for a while:

An adventurer (preferably one skilled in melee) is able to stop a cult of Erythnul from destroying one of Pelor's larger temples. Deeply grateful, the head priest rewards him by having one of their young female clerics join him in his adventuring and tend to his (in this case non-sexual) needs. Though he initially wishes to refuse the gift (being something of a loner), the sight of the beautiful young woman, so eager for the journey, convinces him to accept, and the two start off on their journey together. The cleric is cheerful, optimistic, and somewhat naive about adventuring. She has a great admiration for the adventurer, acting as something like a servant to him unless he tells her to stop. She sometimes embarrasses him by publicly proselyting in an attempt to win converts, and her steadfast goodness often gets them into trouble, as she has no qualms about approaching a thug three times her size and demanding that he change his wicked ways. Though she is is small, and prefers negotiation to fighting, the cleric is surprisingly skilled and ferocious in battle, becoming a mace-wielding fury whenever the adventurer is harmed. Though unaccustomed to adventuring, the cleric's vast knowledge of monsters, races, and other challenges is of great use to them, and she is particularly knowledgeable when it comes to the undead. As they come to know each other and appreciate each other's abilities, the two become closer, and their bond is destined to become one of love.

Let me know what you think! ;D Of course, I'm willing to change this idea or chuck it if it doesn't suit you. I'm sure we'll come up with something that we'd both enjoy! ;)

LOL, I HAVE done this for a long time. ;D You're the newbie in the online roleplaying world. ;) And you know what we do to newbies... Hug them! :D

LOL, the thought of you trying to be a sweet little female cleric is just too silly for words! ;D I keep imagining your avatar with breasts and a high voice. >:) No, no, YOU better be the beefy, hunky warrior. ;) His alignment and so on are up to you, so long as he isn't evil. I'm trying to flesh out my cleric a bit more. I think I'll name her Aurina. :-)

The environment affects my decision.  Because certain Gods are gone in the future and some of the kingdoms have changed as well.

So do you want before or after the God Wars?

Do you have a personal setting that you aer more familiar with and I can jump in to your world?

*Scratches my head* Hmmm... it's been a while since I've thoroughly read-up on Greyhawk, so I'm not terribly familiar with the geography or the God Wars. So long as Pelor is still alive and shining, I'm fine. :-) If you are more familiar with its geography, and since your character would be the leader to some extent, perhaps you could choose where they are headed to next, and give a brief description of the place. Or we could just make up towns and locations as we go along. Your choice. ;D

Any class is fine with me so long as it is somewhat martial. A Ranger or Fighter would be fine. You could even multiclass if you feel so inclined. :-)

Hmmm... I agree. I think it should start after he has saved the temple. The high priest insists on thanking and blessing him in a ceremony witnessed by all the clergy, and it is at the end of this ceremony that Aurina is presented. Having never met before, they are basically strangers to each other, but she already has a positive opinion of him because he saved the temple and is allowing her to adventure with him. That doesn't mean she won't lecture him if she disapproves of his actions.

Also, she probably calls him "Master" (in a respectful, not a sexual way) unless he tells her to stop, in which case she takes careful notes.

You're character can look like just about anything and I'd be happy, so feel free to choose his appearance as you please. I think you'll be happy with Aurina. ;)

Yikes! No no no no no! :o I'd like him to be somewhat attractive to humans, thank you, lol! ;D

Hmmm... I don't have a specific level in mind for either of them, though I think your character would naturally be more experienced. Since we're not actually rolling dice, I think knowing what level they are is only useful for knowing how many spells they can cast each day and so on. I think bending the rules is one of the fun parts of online roleplaying. That way Aurina can kick butt while still being a delicate, curvy creature. No muscled-up amazons for me, thank you! ;D

If I have to choose a level for Aurina, I think I'd go with 3 or 4. :-)

Why don't you come up with the beginning, maybe describe the ceremony a bit, the temples of Pelor are usually nice with stained glass windows.  Lots of sunshine, etc.
You can describe the celebration/ceremony and present your character to the readers.
Then I can respond to your writing in character and we will take off...unless you can think of any other questions?

G’day Song Hun,

Sorry to take so long getting this posted today was a very long very HOT day of hard sweaty work!

Anyway I was thinking that I would use one of my favourite characters as a template for this one. He is Acrem the Harlequin a bard sorcerer who worships the God Oldiammara you is the god of wine & song. I guess that sums up his nature, he is always the first to buy a round of drinks for anyone in the tavern, or to strike up a tune, sing a song or start dancing to others that play. He is most definitely a charmer particularly with the ladies & his Elven features help with ladies.

Acrem is reasonably tall at just under 6 feet in height and of slim muscular build though typically agile as are most Elves just on 200 years of age, quite young still for his kin. He is a flamboyant dresser though when on the road usually dresses in a body fitting jumpsuit of black and white diamond checks and wears a mask with an Even face one half black with a twisted grin and the other white and sad. Long knee height soft leather boots of fine Elven craftsmanship. At his waist hangs a slightly curved Elven long sword in a simple scabbard affixed to a broad leather belt, on the other side of the belt a quiver hangs & across his back a finely crafted Elven composite long bow.

He is a strikingly hansom man exaggerated by his Elven blood and usually a hit with the ladies you will usually fine him the centre of attention in most taverns. He is always accompanied by a small ferret (his familiar) and can often be found either telling tall tales, singing rousing songs usually in the Even tongue or playing his flute.

In combat he will keep his distance if at all possible preferring to use the bow and his small complement of spells, though should the need arise he will leap into the fray with sword in hand dancing the dance of death as he sings of glory , wine & women.

Song, I am very happy to get this started as soon as you like & would be quite happy with you starting the first scene. I assume that we will need to get another thread started in the appropriate area of these boards. I will leave that to you to organise if you like. I see these characters starting at a rather low level perhaps around 4-5? What do you think?

Acrem sounds like an interesting character! :D I can already imagine Eris' first impression of him. I can't wait for them to get into their first argument! ;D

I'd be happy to start us off! :-) It might take me a few days to write the first post (first posts are always the hardest), but I'll post the link to it here once I'm done. Keep your eyes peeled! ;)

I agree. I see Eris at about 4th level. :-)

Oh! What should the title be? Bardic Discord? Disharmony? The Discordant Note? Two Bards Walk Into a Bar...? Any ideas? :-)
