For those who want to build opposite me and make sure there isn't much overlap, I'll drop this down.

It's not complete yet.
It's all good, and it's all in fun.  Now get in the pit and try to love someone.

So, what all do we have right now?  I've kinda lost track.

Here's my best super fast list, might have missed someone somewhere since I'm at work and just glanced over things. About half the concepts so far have been Jedi/Force users. Quick change from when it was only like 1 :)

Muse - Tech spec/boxer, settled on Scoundrel/Soldier and a Scout/Soldier
Orange Marmalade - Jedi
wigglebiscuit - twi'lek slave turned spy
TFcommando - pilot, human smuggler or fighter pilot, maybe noble/soldier officer type
Landshark - Melee specialist
AndyZ - was dual pistol droid, now Chiss Jedi, but now maybe back to droid
Florence - human replica droid/assassin
MoMF - force user of some sort (Jedi) - Imperial Knight -  leaning towards lightsaber combat type
Tackyhillbilly - Mandalorian, Jedi Shadow, or Saboteur - leaning towards lightsaber combat type
Garuss Vakarian -  Another melee Jedi (also maybe a Trooper)
Ryvaken - Another melee Jedi
Fallenpaladin7 - chiss spec ops officer

Ryvaken - Another melee Jedi
Actually I focused more towards Force abilities of general utility, an obscene UtF check, and social ability. Mind Trick, Mind Shard, Adept Negotiator, Force Persuade, I've got a +22 attack against Will to reduce an opponent's condition and force a surrender. And that's when I'm being nice.

I've been waiting for the character thread.

And sorry about that.  Life gave me a few curveballs but we will have one and a template all ready to go today, that I promise :D

Psssst...

Now all the enemies are going to be Force Adepts, or whatever just lets you nope anything attacking your Will.

Ryvaken

Doesn't exist. I checked. Droids I'd have problems with, but all we have to do is set them on enough fire and that ceases to be a problem.

How the heck do you get +22 at our level without dipping into that Scoundrel thing (that has been errata'd and no longer valid)?

You're asking how a Zeltron can wrap people around her fingers?

Step one: have a long standing friendship and mutual respect with the GM
Step two: be very very creative with custom designing of vehicles, feats, classes, and other game mechanics across a variety of systems.
Step three: if the rules say your character design is poorly supported, it's time to write more rules.

When Idej first came up with this game idea a year ago I designed four variations of my Jedi, three light freighters with snubfighter hanger capacity, two pocket carrier corvettes, a new Force talent tree, and a feat for Zeltron Jedi. All with game balance notes and in-universe rundowns on top of the mechanics. The Zeltron variation that became Asuna managed to put together a brutal Adept Negotiator check while maintaining an acceptable if not stellar level of skill with the lightsaber and starfighters. I am still frustrated with the rules for Force Power suites though.

To answer your question, 5 training, 5 focus, 5 species, 4 Charisma, 3 level. 22.

Zeltron's have a bonus to Persuasion. Not Use the Force.

Unless you're meaning that you used your friendship with the GM to create a new Feat to make your guy more  badass. Then more power to you, I guess.

Ryvaken

Can we skip the cynical skepticism please? If the material I write can't stand on its own merits, I don't use it. Having a relationship with the GM just helps bypass, well, the cynical skepticism. Of course a custom designed feat is going to work well with the character of whoever designed it. That's roughly as suspicious as Dual Weapon Mastery being a good feat for a character that uses two weapons.
In creativity, meaning.

AndyZ

Well, my Noble idea won't be able to hold up to that using only the rules listed.  I guess I'll think about if I want to try to do another idea, but it sounds like Ryvaken's character has EVERYTHING covered.

Character Sheet Thread

Place all your characters there for the time being so I can get a look at it.

I am not trying to have favortism over anyone, I just know through experience the material that Ryvaken has presented to me generally is not game breaking and if the other players find it as so, then he isn't one to throw a fit about it and will generally drop it or make it so that it is less breaking or more okay with the players he is playing with.  And because we have a large enough group of interested players, I am going to run two games that are going to be in the same time and world.  Meaning the stories of each group will be running parallel with each other and will intersect at different points.

Willing to work with you on helping you out with whatever you need.  If not I can help with other ideas too :D  More than happy to help

Which leads to the big reveal of the day.

HERE IT COMES

All characters will be recruited into the taskforce as shown and will have chances to interact with each other in between assignments/missions/stories at HQ.  This also means that I may mix and match different characters if it is needed to shake things or players are unable to post or need to go on hiatus and whatnot.  :)

What does this mean for you the player that is interested?  Well it means I will be taking the character concept that I find the most appealing or will help balance out the specialties of the group.  So bring as many character concepts you want to put on the table and I will look them over and post which one I want in on the team.  Either way you are all going to get a chance.  Do your best to deliver me A-Characters and I will do my best to deliver an A-Game :D

See, this is why talking about character design is bad when you're creative. Either you're sacrificing power for flavor or you're a game breaking mary sue.

Whatever. I posted my sheet. The only thing not included in the numbers is an encounter-length +1 Force bonus to attack rolls and Reflex that takes a standard action and a DC 15 UtF check to trigger. Anyone else care to yell at me or can we get past this?

Idej

I'm going to nip this in the bud before things get crazy.

If there is a sizable amount of objection to this, then we can get all of this reworked so we can all have a good time playing. :)

Lets just be civil and try to talk things calmly.  So we can all enjoy this together.  :)

Willing to work with you all on anything you want to put on the table.  Don't be shy and I can talk with you about this.  This game is supposed to be fun and a good time, and want you all to have a good time :D

(Technically Dual Weapon Mastery isn't that good for Characters using two weapons. Two Weapon Fighting is kind of terrible in Saga. I'm rolling with it, but that's because Jar'kai is awesome. Also because Lightsaber Powers fix everything.)

Also to answer a question earlier that I missed (sorry about that)

Athletics will be a compressed skill of swim, climb, and jump.  However the skill can only be trained if and only if your starting class (or the combined classes if you have skill training as a feat) possesses two of the three skills in it.  Will be moving this to the creation rules on the first post.

Hit points are being rolled too

So what do I roll for Hit points?

QuoteYou have to wear regular armor.

So no Imperial Knight Armor with Crotosis gauntlets?
"Arrows through your heart."

Depends on class. I assume all your levels are Jedi and Soldier, so for you that's 30 + 6d10 + (Con bonus times seven).

See page 37 of the core rulebook for full details.

No no no, I think I made a mistake on that.  If you are an Imperial Knight, Knight Armor and the Gauntlet are like givens. :)

And yes what Ryvaken said about your rolls.

Florence

Just need to finish up some last bits of work on mine and then get the fluff written down (though I've already got her backstory pretty much worked out in my head).

Assuming no one points out any glaring errors I've made, she should be ready to go sometime in the next day or so. I wanted to get more work done on her the past day or two, but things got really hectic and I wound up not getting the chance to finish her up.

I've got some stuff I have to do right now, but finishing her sheet is next on my to-do list.
O/O: I was going to make a barebones F-list as a rough summary, but then it logged me out and I lost my progress, so I made a VERY barebones F-list instead: Here.

AndyZ

Florence, did you decide on if your droid has an owner?  My char already has one, as well as knows Binary...
